    Ahi carpaccio
    John S.

The food was excellent. Had suomono soup, nigiri sushi, and ahi carpaccio. Would get all again. Kind of sterile/modern ambience. Around 6 PM a chill and talented solo guitarist started playing a nice mix or rock/island style tunes. Those are all the positives. Some surprises were no alcohol ( might be able to BYO, but did not ask) An 18% gratuity is added to all bill and the service this evening did not reflect that. Maybe all the staff are new, but seemed like the waiter did not know the menu, had a mixed up order, and every interaction with the staff was awkward. That said, I will likely give them a month or two to sort things out, see if I can bring my own beverages, and try this place again. As I already noted, the food is good.

Dined at 1111nikkei Wailea Last night. Enjoyed a great new spot with delicious Peruvian inspired ceviche, and interestingly tasty and unique sushi rolls! Mahalo to Martin Monteverde for a delightful experience, this service and the staff were great. The chefs know how to properly make a roll! Indoor and outdoor dining, clean airy and large. Sushi bar and drink bar. No liquor so BYOB

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Started off with a complimentary cocktail. Our server was good and the food came out fast. I got to watch football, have a free drink, and eat sushi.

We went to 1111 Nikkei for lunch. Sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly. The bar stools not so comfortable. The place is new and really clean. The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful and it tasted super fresh. Where they lost a star is for the price, it all is way overpriced in my opinion and to top it off, they add 18% gratuity on your bill which I didn't see written on their menu, and almost ended up double tipping until my friend pointed it out, maybe I missed it, but it came as a surprise.

Came for a lunch to get away from the resort food and it was so good!! Comfortable and hip interior with a great wait staff. Everything we had was very good and very fresh. Pricing was really reasonable for the area and we would definitely come again. Thanks!!

Had a great birthday lunch with a friend here. Great concept and beautiful presentation out of the current setup, which is a food truck + patio with umbrellas. The indoor dining space is still under construction. Fish was excellent quality and delicious!

Just opened and we happened to be in the area. A great pick if you love Japanese food infused with some Peruvian surprises! (Like a little bit of heat/spice). Great ambiance

Food is always amazing, live music on weekends but I hear they'll be doing luve music during some nights during the week. Sushi is always delicious, refreshing, and amazing! The mocktails are colorful and refreshing, too! Love the smiling faces and welcoming staff!

Another hint for management - change the dish on the Chicken Tsukune, it is to flat and the sauce goes all over the place, deeper spot for the egg would be better also (you're welcome Mike). All the food was amazing - we did a flight of tuna (so yummy). Our favorite was the Salmon Trout dish was our favorite. Chef made the noodles for me (off menu)- thank you chef. Fresh, beautifully presented, and, in my view, even better than Nobu at Grand Wailea (everything is better next door, from the sushi to the service and the finishing touches. Every detail felt intentional, from the craft in each dish to the warmth of the service. The sushi was outstanding: fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, but what really set the experience apart was the service. Brianna was fantastic; her customer service was excellent, and she made us feel so well cared for the entire evening. What truly made the night unforgettable, though, was when a staff member guided us outside to take a photo during the beautiful Maui sunset. That thoughtful gesture turned a special dinner into a memory we'll always treasure. Between the world-class food, the warm hospitality, and the stunning views, Komo delivered an experience we'll never forget. Thank you so much! We will be back! Tammy and Brian.

Until we came to Oao, our favorite had been Nobu, down the road in Wailea. Well, I am here to tell you that, hands-down, there is a new gold medalist in town! The quality, presentation and taste--every single course--knocked it out of the ballpark! And, much to our surprise, the last Main course of Wagyu beef was a veritable grand slam! We came for the Sushi, but never in my life have i tasted such heavenly steak! The exceptionally aloha-friendly staff, such as Ronson and Iggy, were above and beyond helpful. Add to my snobbery my pallet for a good sake. Well, Iggy was able to steer me to an exceptionally perfect Daiginzo brew to complement our Omakase feast of the evening. Be sure to include an order of mussels, and you can't go wrong with anything Hamachi, such as the carpaccio. The atmosphere is somewhat traditional sushi bar, with an aloha flair. It is not very spacious, and will fill up in both guests and noise. Tune those out and you'll be fine. By the way, be sure to make reservations! A Word of warning, this is a sushi bar in the heart of Maui, and is it priced accordingly. That said, it is well, well worth the splurge!

The staff were friendly, fast and attentive, which always helps elevate the meal. Their signature tonkotsu broth is rich, creamy, and packed with umami -- you can tell it's been simmered with care. Hubs ordered the White Ramen and it was perfectly balanced with tender chashu, a soft-boiled egg, and fresh greens -- all the ramen classics done right. The Black Ramen with burnt garlic oil was another standout, bold and flavorful without being overwhelming. We also sampled the toro-taku maki (fresh), then the takoyaki and karaage off the happy hour menu-- both crispy and well-seasoned -- and might i say-- it was great to have a Happy Hour menu with tasty bites to start. Atmosphere was casual and fun without being loud. Great spot for lunch or dinner -- locals and visitors coming and going. This place has satisfying portions and solid prices compared to other island eats. Overall, this is one of the best ramen experiences on Maui -- perfect for when you want comforting Japanese cuisine that hits all the right notes. Will definitely be back next visit!

We ordered 3 items from the Happy Hour Menu: Tuna Crunch, Sunomono, and Kimchi Dip. Tuna Crunch and Sunomono was my favorite. The Tuna Crunch had garlic chips, chili crunch, and ponzu sauce poured over table side. The Sunomono looked simple with a stack of cucumbers but it also had the most addictive sauce of Garlic Tamari, Chili Crunch and Micro Cilantro. The Kimchi Dip was delicious but I'm not a huge fan of Yorkshire Puddings and would rather had crostini's or bread for dipping. My cousin ordered an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan and he said the drinks were made real good. Another cousin and I opted for Alcohol free drinks, my cousin had one with grapefruit and I enjoyed my "martini" with mango and lilikoi (passion fruit). The Signature Sushi Rolls were delicious. We shared the Anuenue (Rainbow) which included Crab, Ahi, Salmon, Hamachi and Ebi and the Nani (Beautiful) which included Spicy Salmon, Cucumber, Avocado, Yakiniku Sauce, Sweet Soy and Micro Greens. We also ordered the Katsu Pork Belly which our bartender recommended. There's 6 crispy pieces atop Rice, Katsu Sauce, Cabbage and Japanese Curry Mayo. My cousin got the Hot Rock Maui Nui Venison Striploin which was cooked on the Hot Rock for 15 seconds per side and served with 4 Homemade Tortillas and Shiso Chimichurri. Overall, food was pretty good but of course quite expensive and located on a tourist spot. Thankful for Kamaaina discount and the beautiful sunset views!
