This place was a hidden little gem! Speciality cocktails , frosè, fresh oysters and raw bar , it is all about quality . Everything we tried was great , food is amazing , portions aren't big but again, they are about quality here. Place is small so be prepared to wait a little depending on the time you go . We ate here with my Daughter and Son in law when they were visiting us. Had ate there before and it was good. This past visit not so good. My daughter and I gat Crab cakes and ribs. The crab cake was all filler an no taste of crab. The ribs were dry. I am not sure is I will return. The waitress wasn't even around to fill our drinks. So the visit wasn't as I expected. A real let down. I wanted my family to enjoy the visit there. But didn't happen. We also wanted to sit near a window so we could enjoy the view of the ocean. read more

If you are a party over 6 beware. They will not seat you inside. They put us on the patio. In the hot sun where we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. The server was nice but service was slow. One order was messed up and we had to wait to have it corrected. The food was ok though the menu was extremely limited. You can probably get food just as good or better at a number of restaurants. We went to a different place near by and it was packed. I saw this on Yelp and decided to try it. Oyster selections were on point. I love some good briney oysters and they had Canadian and NH ones. Price was good. The Viet Cajun boil was solid. Really flavorful. I was so happy with it. Good spice yet really tasty. Service was really good. I wish I remembered the waitress' name. I normally do not leave reviews but I am appalled by my experience tonight. This restaurant seems to be extremely understaffed or under-trained. The place was very empty when we arrived at 8:30 pm. We were told by the bartender to sit anywhere and I guess he never told anyone we had sat down because it took about 20 minutes for anybody else to check on us. We were sitting at a table with no menus or drinks for the longest time when finally a waitress asked us if we'd been helped yet. We told her we hadn't and she replied "okay" and left. It was another five minutes before our waiter came by and this man HAD to have been drunk. He was slurring his words and we all smelled alcohol on his breath. I almost felt bad when we left as it seemed to break his heart to see us go. Maybe he's going through something? If we even had waters and a menu I would've stayed but it is ridiculous to sit at a table for 25 minutes with nothing in front of us. To our waiter- lay off the shots! We love Shine any time of the day. It's eclectic menu fits lunch, full dinners, or just a snack as we are biking through Market Common. We feel a special affinity for Shine because we watched it being built! And I believe we may have been their first customers on their opening day. I really wanted to love the place. We all did. When we came to dine in, there were 2 other occupied tables indoors and 2 outdoors. For some reason nothing was going right. Water took forever to come out, ketchup for hash browns came out 10 min after the hash browns and they were eaten by that point, one person in our party ordered a poke bowl and they had no soy sauce (would have been nice to know when ordering), the food wasn't flavorful, and our appetizer came out when we had two bites left of our entrees and some of us were finished with our entrees already. Very unorganized. It was completely off putting and what's worse is that the waiter used "it got busy" as an excuse when it was evident that it was NOT. It wasn't a pleasant experience for us. Food was very good. The service on the other hand was not. Waited 15 minutes for our drink order and an hour for food. Waitress did not check on us or provide any update to our food order during our 1 1/2 hour visit. Watched 4 other tables near us come in, get served and leave while we were there. My daughter ordered a Caesar salad that did not come out until 10 minutes after the rest of us got our food. This waitress worked very hard for a 1% tip. I typically leave 25% but in reality the service she provided wasn't worth the 1%. She did ask if we needed drink refills after I asked for the check. read more

Our first time here. We had just driven in from NJ and wanted dinner before checking into our hotel. We found Shine on yelp and gave it a shot. The food and service were excellent. Seating available outside, inside bar, high top, and regular seating. The food came out quickly, fresh and very tasty, and our server was attentive to our needs.
