Cash and card accepted. 1285 Restobar is located on the street and there is street parking. My friends and I got here around 12:30 pm on Memorial Day and they were open. It was a little busy but we got seated right away. I ordered the cup of clam chowder and the parmesan halibut with the side salad. Everything tasted good and the server was friendly. 4/5 stars because it was really good, not super amazing, but I would recommend this place. read more

I'm surprised by the great reviews, as we found this underwhelming and overpriced. Service was great. The restaurant had only 2 servers on a busy Saturday afternoon and I would have never known it if one of the servers hadn't mentioned it. Our food came out quickly and we got everything we needed. Both servers were friendly. All 4 of us left hungry and I found the food to be expensive. The taste was just ok, nothing special. read more

The server informed me that I wasn't allowed to dine inside the restaurant and instead, escorted me to an outdoor area that looked like a storage room promising to provide a heating element. I voiced my concerns, stating that it was illegal to discriminate against someone with a disability. She reiterated her stance, attributing it to the kitchen's policy. If this was the case, then the restaurant shouldn't be serving anyone indoors. She was indifferent to what ADA.gov stipulates about service animals. As a disabled combat veteran, I rely on my service dog for medical assistance, and being relegated to a less desirable dining area is wholly unacceptable. It's a clear violation of the ADA.gov mandate. According to ADA.gov, "Service animals are permitted to accompany their owners, even in locations that do not typically allow pets. For instance, service dogs are allowed in restaurants. As an example, a restaurant that provides both indoor and outdoor dining cannot force a woman with a service dog to eat outside due to her service animal." We left... It is unacceptable to discriminate against disabled people in this world! read more

As simple as great food, drinks, scene, and service. Mango smoothie was great, egg sandwich and bagels were delicious.

We went for lunch with a group of 7 and were told they would not move tables together to accommodate our group, which was fine. We sat a few tables apart. The hostess was the most unpleasant and rude person and it completely soured our experience. Our table was next to the front entrance and I watched her repeatedly treat new patrons with disrespect, then walk away and smile like it was a game. We all enjoyed our lunch but unfortunately we would not recommend this place because of the poor customer service. read more

The food is OK. The wine selection is good, but the service is lacking. The variety of food servers was OK as far as appearance that is probably what they were chosen for certainly not in their people skills or experience. They forget about you even if you tell him bring a picture of water because you drink a lot of water to a spoon needed for the clam chowder, they also forget to bring you napkins and extra plates. If you decide to have a split dinner meal even though they make sure to charge you a split dinner meal they just forget to bring you plates and silverware for it. Food servers are very and lack and skill and need more training. if you have drinks, it will be about $130 meal besides having dessert and all the extras. They will ask you to leave early so they can see other people because they feel you have no right to be there apparently lol you eat your last bite of food, I would not recommend this place. It is not welcoming good luck and lasting they must count on their regulars. read more

We enjoyed a nice meal here tonight and we waited about 20-30 minutes to be seated. Shortly after we were seated, more and more people showed up. Abby was at the door fielding questions about people wanting to get their name on the list, if they can get takeout, how long the wait is, and so on. Abby was attentive, patient and kind when people came up to her, no matter what their attitude was. Brittany was our server and she was so sweet and just perfect. An old favorite, we stopped in twice on this trip and weren't disappointed. Nice bar/restaurant ambience, excellent service, and food that's a cut above most places. environment is loud, could barely hear myself think, the food was ok at best, the chicken was tough and rubbery, ordered manicotti, it was basically a soup, wayyyy too much sauce. it's definitely a tourist trap. everyone says to go to restobar, and maybe we just came in on a bad day or something, but to me it seemed way overhyped. My first reaction is 3 stars. Giving 4 stars because the dish my husband had was excellent. Interior design very cozy, visually beautiful, had a very attractive bar, really nice outdoor seating available in back. My frustrations~ I picked this restaurant due to their website saying they were dog friendly but that meant sitting out front only. We asked to sit in the back outdoor area for coverage and from sun but wasnt an option w/our dog. She mentioned that sitting back there would be alot harder? There wasn't anyone in the back area at all- so harder for who? Just wish they'd be more clear on what dog friendly meant to them. It was fairly warm out front, the waitress said she would bring him water bowl. Didnt happen, well, it did- from another server finally but was long after I gave him my water, which was fine but we ran out of our personal water and it was never filled. Pup in the sun came first :) Service, while friendly was vacant. Didn't check back until late in the delivery of our food, my dish was not very good, I asked for condiments, wasnt very busy and while I was waiting she had time to chat with other tables but condiments never arrived. Hubby had to go inside to get check, we paid and left. Will we go again? The Ahi Tuna Sandwhich was a show stopper so probably, but not with our pup and not until we visit some of the other places downtown has to offer. read more

This was our first time here - great food! We had an out of town guest and he raved about the crab-covered salmon! Portions were big! Inside of restaurant is small-ish and the kitchen is front and center - which is great, until it's a bit smoky in there from something that's being cooked. Service was a bit slow and inattentive - sad to say, but it's what I've come to expect from most restaurants in Oregon as it's pretty common. Went here yesterday on a business lunch and just over one year to the day since I was here last, NOTHING changed. Had the Dungeness Crab Melt, Salad and Chowder. All as great as I recall from last year. Service was first class, all staff were friendly and acted like they really wanted to be there (great to see!). Another plus, the restrooms were clean as was the rest of the establishment. This is my favorite place in Florence and the only bad thing I can say is they are not in Eugene :-) read more

We were walking down the street trying to figure out where to eat that would have clam chowder and vegan options and a guy stopped us and suggested we go to Restobar. Wow, what a great recommendation! The service was very pleasant and they moved quickly. I got the spaghetti with marinara sauce and vegetables and the flavors were amazing. We ended up sharing everything and we were all blown away. My brother got the avocado burger and salad, which he and his girlfriend loved. She got Parmesan-crusted halibut with vegetables and they loved that as well. There were no leftovers, we practically licked our plates. The chef stopped by and we let him know how blown away we were. Oh, and the clam chowder was delicious, per my brother and his gf. Thanks for a great experience! read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to eat during our trip to Florence and, seeing all of the positive yelp reviews and long line out front, we decided on the 1285 Restobar. We arrived around 7:20pm and their closing time is 8pm, so we were worried we'd be turned away. To our pleasant surprise, we were told it would be around a 20 minute wait. We probably waited around 5-10 minutes before being seated. All of the wait staff were polite and friendly and we got our food and drinks shortly after ordering. We did a "make your own" pizza with BBQ sauce as the base and chicken and bacon on top-- delicious! I would give the pizza 8/10. It tasted extremely fresh and the crust was thin, but not too thin, and perfectly crunchy. The BBQ sauce base is the reason it was not 10/10. It had a slight kick to it and at times was a little too plentiful. We also ordered a Caesar salad to share. It was huge and delicious and was accompanied by a slice of their house made rosemary bread. I would give it a 9/10. All in all, I would absolutely recommend the 1285 Restobar and I plan on returning the next time I find myself in Florence. read more

We'll have a drink while we wait. Nope. Can't have drink unless you are buying dinner. What?! Ok. We'll come back at 5. When we arrive, told we can't be accommodated. Ms. Rude disrespected our party and her boss (owner). No problem. We'll go elsewhere. Walked to Homegrown and had AMAZING TIME. Great food. Excellent service. Owner assisted us entire time. Spent our $400 dollars in a place that cared about their customers. Don't spend your $$$ at Restobar. You deserve better. Owner - you really should talk to your employee. Takeaway? Really a disappointing experience. First, the " hostess" did not acknowledge people waiting for a table even as the restaurant emptied out and 25 minutes passed. She would look at the line and walk away. Never greeted you, took your name or anything. We had to ask at the bar if we could be seated. Then the waiter failed to bring our first order but it showed up on the check. Then they failed to return my credit card. When i got to my car, I realized they had not returned it and went back in. No one could find it. Had to cancel my card. The food was as no better than the service. The mushrooms in my spinach salad were old and tasted a bit spoiled. There were 1000 craisens. My partner's piccata looked like canned soup. They advertise "voted best of Florence" don't fall for it. read more

We went for dinner and ordered a med pizza and a Caesar salad. The salad was excellent, the pizza was terrible. Was barely warm when we got it and super soggy. We asked the waitress (who was very kind) if they bake the toppings on the pizza (rather than a put them in after) and she said yes. They definitely did not. It was really bad. Raw onions, and wayyyy too many of each topping. Was soggy, no flavor and buried in raw toppings. We ate half of it and left the rest. I hope this was an anomaly because the restaurant was pretty busy, but the hostess was incredibly rude not only to our party but to other parties before and after us. She did not understand the woman in front of us and kind of scolded the lady for her own lack of understanding. Also, the restaurant policy of not taking names or #s is pretty substandard and not very accommodating of people with disabilities because they make people queue on the street. We will only be in Florence for the night so we won't have the opportunity to go back to try the food, which is sad because with the attitude issue, I'm sure this is a 5 star restaurant. General experience: The food was great. The wait wasn't as long as I anticipated. The hostess and staff were friendly. My 7 yr. Old daughter ordered a soft drink. She did not get it. My husband ordered a ginger beer, he didn't receive it but we were charged for it. We waited for far too long for the check and we were just so grateful to get it that I failed to look at the charges before I handed over my card. The problem: I tried emailing, calling and contacting them on Facebook but all led to a dead end. I would give them 2 stars had the hostess not been so gracious and composed. I would give them 4.5 had it not been for their failure to provide a manner to communicate with them. The water tasted as if it was distilled! Which was quite an unfortunate issue for me. FOOD: I ordered the vegetarian pasta, Manicotti Florentine. The dish was served hot so as I waited for it to cool down i enjoyed the side bread that came with it. Soft with flavor yet crispy around the edge resulted in a perfect pairing with the pasta. The pasta itself was very cheesy, yet not gooey which is what I prefer in a pasta dish so I was very pleased. I enjoyed my meal throughly. DRINK: I ordered the Pineapple Martini and Pomegranate Martini. Of the two, I very much recommend the Pomegranate Martini. Both were very refreshing but the blend of the Pomegranate with Smirnoff Vodka triumphed over the Pineapple Martini due to the Malibu Rum overpowering the Pineapple flavor. TIME: During the beginning of our visit, things weren't looking so well. My party of two was seated towards the most isolated corner of the restaurant although there were many available seats outside and within. It took a bit over ten minutes to be asked what we would like to have for drinks. SERVICE: Being frustrated over the lack of attentiveness, the customer service is what turned the experience around. Our server was apologetic and completely shifted her focus on us once she realized that we may have been forgotten. Since we came closer to closing, the owner helped my boyfriend out a free slice of pizza. OVERALL: I would very much recommend this establishment. We called just to give them the FYI that we had 9 that would be there at 5:15pm on a Wednesday. They said we don't take reservations. I understand that just giving you the heads up. We slid in late afternoon on Valentines Day for an early dinner with no reservations. We are familiar with the menu so my wife ordered the crab ravioli and I had the chicken marsala. Both very good and came with side salads and the house rosemary focaccia. My only complaint is the addition of $2 for using a credit card. I don't carry cash anymore so it feels like a punishment. I don't mind leaving a good tip because the service was very good, but I backed it off to cover the additional charge for using my card. Need to recover additional bank charges? Very good service on a busy night. Parmesan crusted halibut was cooked correctly. The sauce was good although a bit heavy. Zucchini was the side vegetable- large rough cut and seasoned lightly. Linguini with marinara and meatball very tasty with small bits of tomato and light shavings of Parmesan. Crème brûlée had crystallized sugar that had not been caramelized- chunky bits of sugar. Overall a nice meal, but lacked finesse. Halibut with veg $25. read more
