Always really good food & I've never had bad service here. The servers rotate so you don't have the same one, and perhaps that's part of the successful key to good service? Maybe other restaurants should adopt this? I've eaten here many times over the past 10 years and I've never taken the time to write a review. I mostly go here with Girlfriends, it is one of my GF's favorite places that she loves to come. The food is fresh and the mix of flavors are delicious. I usually get the chef's special. The food... for years has been exquisitely sourced and prepared. Literally 3 years went by and the same meal tasted the same if not better than the previous time ordered. Our hostess was pleasant and welcoming even being a military "on time" (20 mins early). The waitstaff was flawless and have an amazing routine, Lauren, our server, stood out with her intent to listen and zero reserve to help us choose between starters, mains, sides, and even desserts. The medium light ambiance and the low to medium noise level make this establishment an absolute pleasure to entertain private conversation without having to raise your voice or ask for them to repeat themselves. My trout was good, my salad was amazing. My husband had the $55 steak and had to cut a good portion of fat away. The steak marinated in teriyaki and pineapple. I treated my to a TERRIFIC dining experience on a Thursday at 4:50 pm. The waitstaff, ambiance, food was delightful. This is my now favorite restaurant in the area, though expensive, it was worth it given the quality of the entire experience (based on my meal 2 weeks ago by myself). I ordered the special: 2 filet medallions with Demi glaze and blue cheese, cooked to perfection (medium rare), smashed potatoes. The Caesar salad was the best I have ever eaten: plentiful dressing and large croutons. George was the consummate waiter, polished, attentive, but not overbearing. The Pinot Noir was delicious. I wish I saved room for dessert! Next time! Note: The ambiance was perfect for a peaceful meal by myself during the week. This may very well be one of the best dining experiences I have had. The food and the service were both stellar. The ambience is, well, hard to describe. They have these square drop lights that focus on the table top so that your food is well lit but the area around the table is dim and cozy. The staff absolutely knocked it out of the park! I never had a dirty fork. I never had an empty glass. My wife got up to go to the bathroom and they swooped in and replaced her napkin. They never felt like they were in the way or intrusive. Stunning attention to detail! I had the steak with the demi-glacé. It was cooked absolute perfection, and the boat of demi-glacé was so rich and flavorful. I am sure that this is an unusual experience but this one time turned out to be a disaster for me. The shrimp appetizer was fantastic but then I ordered the salad with tuna sushi grade and it had to be the worst. I tried to eat it but ended up getting sick from it. I lost a lot of weight that night. Not sure what was in it but I lost it that night. Maybe the others had great meals. Apparently there is a secret menu that includes prime rib which is not on the menu. This was a great dish to order. All I can say is do not order the salad with tuna unless you want to lose some weight. read more

LOVE this gem! We went for the first time last night (well, my first time) and it was awesome. It was packed when we got there/were seated and despite that we got the best service from Alison (and David/Dave!) As someone who worked in the industry for many years I REALLY noticed how awesome they were, even when slammed busy. Our drinks were great and never sat empty and the SMOKED SALMON was SO GOOD. Great food, service and atmosphere! We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server was quick with our beverages and appetizers while we waited on our mains. Everyone was really impressed with their dishes. The stand outs were the Caesar salad, prime rib, pineapple/soy ribeye, filet mignon and crab cake! The food was hot, fresh and seasoned well! We couldn't leave without dessert and the crème brûlée and key lime pie were superb! The espresso was also really smooth and a great way to end the night. We will definitely return soon! read more

I made a crazy request and asked the bartender if he could make a sour apple martini. He delivered. Their dirty martini is PERFECT and my boyfriend enjoyed it. You got me as a regular based off of that! Now for the food! My boyfriend LOVES their blackened chicken pasta and I'm a fan of their shrimp and grits. It was cooked perfectly, was super flavorful and a great portion! The ambiance of the restaurant was also really nice with low lighting, booths and tables, and other features. It's a really nice restaurant! It's located in Cornelius on Statesville Road. In among businesses and a residential neighborhood, it's a very quaint setting. Parking is available in the lot for the entire business park, so there are no issues with parking. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I loved everything about this place! The service is wonderful. We arrived early for our reservation and although the bar and tables were full, we were promptly greeted by Yasmine the bartender with their cocktail list and offered us a spot on the list for the next available table at the bar. We opted out since we wanted a more quiet dinner. I Had the Pearfection martini. It was refreshing, made with clean ingredients greygoose pear,lemon...and my husband said it was the best unsweet tea he's ever had. Seated at our table, Daniel made some great recommendations. We had the cornbread- delish and the tuna stack- ahi tuna, cucumber and mango served with crackers that really held up & didn't shatter. First time at 131 Main, and we will definitely be back. Hubby made a resy, which I highly recommend as it was packed, but not too loud. The waitstaff team-serves, so our service was quick and attentive. Our waitress in particular was helpful making suggestions and describing the specials. We started with the grilled artichokes and wedge salad, both were yummy. I had the special, barrel fish with roasted brussels sprouts, and the mister had cedar plank salmon with chilled, wild rice. We couldn't help but order the banana cream pudding for dessert. OMG, that is a must!! Next time, we may opt to sit outside as they have a lovely patio area with a fire pit. read more

This place is nice, but in my humble opinion nothing actually justified the costs. We were seated right on time, but the menu should have been written in braille! It was much too dark in there, but I was happy to see that each of the servers had on masks. My compadres ordered the steak and lamb and raved about it. I don't eat red meat or pork so I selected the Chicken Linguine pasta. The cocktail menu was certainly exciting, but there was so much we couldn't get because of supply chain issues. I arrived home later only to find on the receipt that we were charged for two drinks that we didn't get. I also ordered a side of deviled eggs that never came. They completely dropped the ball when it came to dessert. Key lime pie, Expresso Brownie, Banana Cream Pie and a Peanut butter cream pie. Nobody wanted any of that. As politely put.... The ladies bathrooms could have really used some tending to. Bread wasn't brought to the table. Our server was switched part way through our meal. Nobody said anything to us, we just suddenly had a different server. Three hundred dollars later, and I have to say there is a lot of room for improvement. *I was contacted by the manager, Tom. Sincere apologies were offered and accepted. I appreciated the gesture. I will go back and hopefully have a better experience. If a revision is in order, I will happily post it right here. read more

We were visiting family in the area, and they brought us here for dinner on our final night. The place was packed for a Thursday night! Definitely should have made reservations. We waited about 30 minutes for a table for 5. Service was outstanding. They kept bringing Coke refills without us even asking. Food was tasty. Portions are large. 3 of us split two entrees (baby back ribs and trout) and it was more than enough after sharing 2 apps with the table. Great ambiance, very classy. Nice spot! read more
