GREAT LOCATION!! Everyone kept telling me that this was a favorite 131 Main location and they were right! The food and drinks were phenomenal! The fish/seafood was amazing! It was cooked perfectly, was super flavorful and a great portion! The ambiance of the restaurant was also really nice with low lighting, booths and tables, and other features. It's a really nice restaurant! It's located in Cornelius on Statesville Road. In among businesses and a residential neighborhood, it's a very quaint setting. Parking is available in the lot for the entire business park, so there are no issues with parking. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Wowzaaaaa. First things first. Any of my Millennials or Gen X friends remember when you had your go to restaurant for a great martini? Well I've moved around a lot and I found mine here in Charlotte. I made a crazy request and asked the bartender if he could make a sour apple martini. He delivered. Their dirty martini is PERFECT and my boyfriend enjoyed it. You got me as a regular based off of that! Now for the food! My boyfriend LOVES their blackened chicken pasta and I'm a fan of their shrimp and grits. I also enjoy their sandwich options on the lunch menu. We like going to the Lake Norman location, but I will definitely go to the SouthPark location after a day of shopping! read more

This place is nice, but in my humble opinion nothing actually justified the costs. We were seated right on time, but the menu should have been written in braille! It was much too dark in there, but I was happy to see that each of the servers had on masks. My compadres ordered the steak and lamb and raved about it. I don't eat red meat or pork so I selected the Chicken Linguine pasta. The cocktail menu was certainly exciting, but there was so much we couldn't get because of supply chain issues. I arrived home later only to find on the receipt that we were charged for two drinks that we didn't get. I also ordered a side of deviled eggs that never came. They completely dropped the ball when it came to dessert. Key lime pie, Expresso Brownie, Banana Cream Pie and a Peanut butter cream pie. Nobody wanted any of that. As politely put.... The ladies bathrooms could have really used some tending to. Bread wasn't brought to the table. Our server was switched part way through our meal. Nobody said anything to us, we just suddenly had a different server. Three hundred dollars later, and I have to say there is a lot of room for improvement. *I was contacted by the manager, Tom. Sincere apologies were offered and accepted. I appreciated the gesture. I will go back and hopefully have a better experience. If a revision is in order, I will happily post it right here. read more

The atmosphere here is very inviting and the bar area a great place for a pre/post drink. I had the ribs and they were huge! Good wide range menu and priced right. Great food, service and atmosphere! We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server was quick with our beverages and appetizers while we waited on our mains. Everyone was really impressed with their dishes. The stand outs were the Caesar salad, prime rib, pineapple/soy ribeye, filet mignon and crab cake! The food was hot, fresh and seasoned well! We couldn't leave without dessert and the crème brûlée and key lime pie were superb! The espresso was also really smooth and a great way to end the night. We will definitely return soon! read more

I don't leave a five star review often, but I think 131 Main deserves it. Although I've been to this establishment before, I've never visited this particular location. It's been on the to-do list for a long time, and today we decided to go for it. I was very impressed when I walked in: the decor the vibe, just everything felt top-notch and upscale. Although we arrived on a Sunday with no reservations, we had no problem getting a table, nor getting fast service. All of the servers we encountered were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Jordayn was our primary server and she was awesome. We ended up ordering the cast iron cornbread of course, can't come here and not have that. Also got a side salad and some deviled eggs, and for my entree I had the blackened chicken pasta. Everything was absolutely delicious, and again the service was top-notch. I don't usually get dessert, but the options sounded very good so we decided to get the strawberry shortcake which was a biscuit topped with vanilla bean ice cream and sweetened strawberries.. it was so so good. Even when you walk up to the restaurant, the smell from the woodfired oven just takes you in before you hit the door. That same awesome smell hit my nose on the way out and made me want to go back inside. I enjoyed my visit and I cannot wait to return. read more

Ate at 131 Main about 10 years ago. It was great then. Went back this year during business trip. Still great. I travel weekly and know a good restaurant when I see one. The atmosphere, service, food and menu are all great. The service might be the best of all these. They care about their customers, and all at a reasonable price. This is rare these days across the US. read more

First time at 131 Main, and we will definitely be back. Hubby made a resy, which I highly recommend as it was packed, but not too loud. The waitstaff team-serves, so our service was quick and attentive. Our waitress in particular was helpful making suggestions and describing the specials. We started with the grilled artichokes and wedge salad, both were yummy. I had the special, barrel fish with roasted brussels sprouts, and the mister had cedar plank salmon with chilled, wild rice. We couldn't help but order the banana cream pudding for dessert. OMG, that is a must!! Next time, we may opt to sit outside as they have a lovely patio area with a fire pit. read more

We arrived early for our reservation and although the bar and tables were full, we were promptly greeted by Yasmine the bartender with their cocktail list and offered us a spot on the list for the next available table at the bar. We opted out since we wanted a more quiet dinner. I Had the Pearfection martini. It was refreshing, made with clean ingredients greygoose pear,lemon...and my husband said it was the best unsweet tea he's ever had. Seated at our table, Daniel made some great recommendations. We had the cornbread- delish and the tuna stack- ahi tuna, cucumber and mango served with crackers that really held up & didn't shatter. I ordered the scallops and my husband the Filet- perfectly cooked MR. Then we shared the crème brûlée and I had an espresso martini- perfection! We will def be back read more

We were visiting family in the area, and they brought us here for dinner on our final night. The place was packed for a Thursday night! Definitely should have made reservations. We waited about 30 minutes for a table for 5. Service was outstanding. They kept bringing Coke refills without us even asking. Food was tasty. Portions are large. 3 of us split two entrees (baby back ribs and trout) and it was more than enough after sharing 2 apps with the table. Great ambiance, very classy. Nice spot! read more

Five Stars All Around! We had the pleasure of dining at 131 Main in Cornelius last night at 8:30pm to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was top tier. Charlotte, our waitress, was absolutely amazing--warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. What made it even more special was how the entire wait staff and even the chef pitched in to make the evening perfect. Even though we arrived just 30 minutes before closing, not once did we feel rushed. Every request we had was met with promptness and no hesitation. The ambiance was just right--elegant yet comfortable--and the food was nothing short of phenomenal. Each dish was prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. Hands down, 131 Main in Cornelius is the most buttoned up and consistent restaurant in the Lake Norman area. There are many good restaurants around Lake Norman and Charlotte, but I've been going to 131 Main in Cornelius for 10 years and am never disappointed. read more

We ordered the double dip app which is like a modern take on pimento cheese - guacamole and fire roasted salsa - put it this way WE ATE IT ALL! Lol I chose the rib n chicken plate - the ribs were smoky moist and fall of the bone tender with some of the best bbq sauce I've had and the rotisserie chicken was way better than any rotisserie I've had. I had the sweet curry corn and white cheddar grits and WOW as my dad would make you wanna slap yo momma they so good! The hubby had the salmon with a Dijon mustard sauce that he said was delish and the wild rice he said it was Purty good! We had the nicest waitress Erin who gave us a complimentary dessert - strawberry shortcake and whew I tried to eat my fingers! Lol The only negative - we enjoy outdoor dining but they need to spray for flies they became quite the pest while eating one even flew in my hubby's wine and it had to be replaced! And it's pricey! We came here on a Saturday evening (with reservations), and was seated right away. The staff was courteous and the whole restaurant was packed. Not everyone was wearing masks and that included the chefs, servers and bus boys/girls. The double dip was amazing! The guac was chunky and the cheddar dip was tasty with the restaurant style tortillas. The cream of mushroom & artichoke soup was delicious and had the perfect amount of citrus flavor to brighten it up. The filet was cooked perfectly and the demi-glaze add-on was a must! The amount of mashed potatoes was surprising! There was literally a mountain! The salmon on cedar plank was cooked perfectly. I added a side of their mango salsa and it was the perfect combination. The jumbo asparagus was grilled perfectly and super tender. The key lime pie was a refreshing end to a delicious meal. I would definitely recommend and return!
