Great service, loved the interior, all of our appetizers & dishes were fresh & absolutely delicious....

We heard great things about this place and decided to come on our last night on the island and it did not disappoint. I love the oysters, the meat was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy, the pasta was amazing. Just everything was delicious. The bar is great too, had some drinks before we sat down.

while vacationing in St. Thomas USVI, we took the ferry to St. John's. While touring St. John we had dinner at 1864. This restaurant is located in the rear of a little shopping center a fairly new build and very nicely acquainted. The Restaurant had a great ambience, and the staff was super friendly. Luckily, we were able to get three seats at the bar for dinner. It's considered very popular, I believe, because of the service and the ambience. In my humble opinion, I thought the food was mediocre at best. We started off with appetizers of mussels and oysters. My wife and daughter said the muscles were good but they had better. I ate the oysters and they were very good. I'd put them in outstanding. For dinner, my wife and daughter both had. The fried chicken with mac & cheese. They both said the mac & cheese was outstanding, but the chicken was a little dry. It looked nice to me but again that was just an observation. I had the seafood and sausage risotto. I found a sort of bland. The seafood is very good and cooked correctly, but I found the risotto and the sauce. lacking flavor. We also ordered some garlic bread for dipping with the mussels and my risotto sauce. I'm glad I asked for the extra garlic. It was good but not great. I would recommend this place if you're in St. John, it's prices are slightly less than with most of the restaurants in the area.

Delicious sushi lunch, check their hours and days. Nicely rolled and presented dragon roll, firecracker roll and vegetarian. Beautifully designed restaurant, airy, stone, open to light. This Mongoose Junction restaurant is a gem. We loved the sushi, a nice clean flavor. Our server was efficient. I would definately come back.

We did a pre dinner stop for drinks and apps at the bar and it did not disappoint. Happy hour is 3-5pm so take advantage if you are in the area! The bar is in an open air center of Mongoose Junction. Conveniently located a short walk from the Cruz Bay ferry stop. This stop is a little on the upscale, so it can easily be a dressier night out to dinner. We had the raw oysters and oysters Rockefeller. I have had plenty of oysters in my life and these were fantastic. The raw oysters were super clean and fresh. Perfect with just a squeeze of lemon! The oysters Rockefeller were some of the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked tender oyster topped with such a flavorful topping. The drinks were also excellent! Highly recommend if you are in the area or even making it a destination as part of your trip, it is well worth it!

I came here for an anniversary meal with my boyfriend, so they greeted us with a complementary glass of champagne, which was very sweet and thoughtful. We got some cocktails and ordered the saffron seafood risotto with lobster. Unfortunately the mussels were extremely fishy, but the staff kind enough to send it back and let me order something else. Instead, I got the fried scallops, and it it's definitely some of the best scallops I've ever had. The portions were enormous! I would definitely come back. The restaurant itself was beautiful.

Came here for an anniversary meal and was very pleased with the experience. I noted the occasion in our reservation, and we were congratulated by the staff and presented with a complimentary glass of champagne. We went ahead and ordered a couple more cocktails for the evening, both of which were unique and tasted delicious. The food was pretty good as well. I ordered the seafood risotto and it came with plenty of protein.

This was my favorite meal on the island hands down. First off the atmosphere is amazing. It's indoor outdoor with lots of fans so it's the perfect temperature and it's such a cool space. Then our service was amazing, everyone was so nice and friendly and on top of it. Then I had a dirty martini and it was Top 5 best martini I have ever had! And I have had a lot of dirty martinis. Then I got the tuna and it was fantastic. We got dumplings and burrata to start and that was amazing too. I tried a bite of everyone's meals and there wasn't anything bad. If I lived on the island I would frequent this place!

Five-Star Seafood Sensation! 1864 The Restaurant is a must-visit for any seafood lover. The combination of fresh, high-quality ingredients, expertly prepared dishes, and outstanding service makes this restaurant a true gem. Five stars!

Very pleased with this St John's restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited but everything on it is prepared beautifully. Good wine list, full bar. Caribbean spices, fish, seafood, streak, pork, veggie offerings all properly cooked. Enthusiastic wait staff, eager to please. Very good.

Awhile back had an okay meal here, but this time it's a homerun all around... super service and tasty food served piping hot. Excellent choices: --Ciabatta Garlic Bread --Chicken & Roasted Vegetable Potstickers --Jumbo Stuffed Prawns with roasted Garlic Crab & Panko Stuffing, Grilled Broccoli, Pineapple & Jalapeno Beurre Blanc. Subbed their awesome homemade french fries for the sweet potato mash (wise substitution for a french fry addict!) --Caribbean Spiced Fresh Daily Catch was lobster, served with Haricots Verts, Mango Salsa, Mixed Greens with Sesame Vinaigrette, Crispy Noodles, Pickled Red Onion. Really tasty combination.

The elegance of this restaurant with its open air seating, melodic sounds of the cokie's and tree frogs, and white linen table cloths enchanted my wife and I after a love-charmed day at Honeymoon Beach. She ordered the catch of the day - lobster. I went for the crab stuffed prawns. We were both mesmerized by the tantalizing flavors which flooded our mouths. The entrees were nothing less than heavenly. Joe did a fine job as our waiter and kept me hydrated in light of my crimson sun-kissed skin tone. We wish would could have been dressed in tux and evening gown for this exquisite dining experience but felt welcome in our swim suits and coverups.

Everything is so fresh and packed with flavor, that you really can't go wrong with anything in the menu. The vegetable paella was delicious, the two tridatos we tried were fresh and bright with the different sauces on top, and the key lime pie was absolutely amazing. It is definitely the vacationers favorite spot, but I wouldn't say it's too touristy or anything. It gets a lot of attention because it's good and a nice place to eat dinner with your family on vacation. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly. The host was kind enough to try to squeeze us in anywhere he could so for that we are very grateful. The food took awhile to come out, but that's probably just island time stuff, and besides the place was PACKED. But our appetizers and desserts came out really quickly. We loved our time here and would definitely recommend giving it a try if possible! There is a good mix of seafood and "land breezes" on the menu, plus a couple vegetarian plates if needed. Perfect for cocktail and mocktails as well!

We had heard their chicken dishes were very good, so we ordered the chicken and waffles, with gravy and a fried egg on top. The chicken was crispy and moist. We also ordered their special dish of the morning which was a fried breakfast burrito with egg, sausage, avocado and a glaze of the chipotle sauce on the tortilla, with a serving of country potatoes on the side. The filling of the burrito was very good, but I think I would rather have this deconstructed than inside a flour tortilla. We were left wanting more to be honest, it was very good! Next we had the paella. I liked this paella, I did, BUT, it was not flavored as an authentic Spanish paella. I was disappointed about that, but I still enjoyed the dish. It was a bit spicy, more like scratchy lol, but had lots of seafood and the rice was cooked perfectly (imo). My husband finished with a unique vanilla azafran dessert. I guess they used the azafran in the sorbet and not the paella . I did not like this ice cream. It tasted like soap to me lol. It is just too beautiful, not to enjoy such a view I read other reviews before I came here. Almost everybody said everything was great, but the service was slow. Possibly the Restaurant was just starting to manage it properly but when we were there, I have nothing to complain about the service. I was very happy and I could come here weekly. Assuming I can afford it. It cost a lot. after tip for the two of us, it was over $500. I talked to the people at the table next-door because they were having meat. One was having a ribeye. I believe the other was having lamb chops. They both were very happy with what they got. That's great to know, because let's face it not everybody likes seafood. Many people who order a California roll at restaurants are not getting top Quality Crab. The crab in my California roll here was perfect. obviously other people appreciate this restaurant too, because it was filled. i'm thrilled I came to karma and I'm looking forward to be coming here regularly from this point on oh yeah, almost forgot because I'm not a big dessert lover.
