I have been going to this dentist for a few years in Greenfield with no issues. After its closing, I went to the Amherst office and everything changed. I just left my visit after specifying that I wanted only a cleaning. Both times, they refused to clean, stating that my gums need deep cleanings and additional work ($$$). My gums have always been fine until going to this office. These added services that aren't needed, but add to the bottom line! I was promised that I could get just a cleaning, drove 45 minutes only to be denied once again. Never will I recommend this dental practice! read more

I have been going to first advantage dental for years. Recently, I had an appointment for a deep cleaning. Rebecca did a great job. She is thorough, careful, and efficient, and I was done in about an hour. All of the doctors and hygienist are super qualified, and I trust them with my oral health. read more

This place keeps cancelling our appointments last minute. Mind you- there are 6 of us in our family that utilize them. Reason of cancellation is almost always the hygienist is going to be on vacation. WTH! You call them back to reschedule appointments, but it will be at least 8-9 months after your last cleaning. I am shopping around for other dental offices near or far from us. read more

I stayed with this practice LONG after I should have because I liked the hygienist, but then she retired and I began to notice I never saw the same dentist twice. They were all either just getting their first experience just out of dental school or were there cooling theirs heels in the last couple years before retirement. No continuity of care, One --just out of school--told me I needed to have a tooth pulled while I still had insurance to cover it (before retirement) and she would be happy to do it. When I went back a couple months later I saw a different young dentist who examined the tooth and was puzzled, confused as to why I had been advised to have it removed. She could not in good conscience remove a perfectly good tooth. I thanked her profusely. She did not charge me and the tooth is still fine 12 years later. The final straw was when I was in Canada for 3 months and returned for a scheduled cleaning. Without informing me, they had cancelled my appointment because I had an outstanding bill of $60 and it had been sent to a collection agency and was already accruing penalty charges. Finally I realized (well duh) that this is a corporate enterprise, NOT a caring medical service. If I could leave a 0 star rating I would. When I switched to Amherst Dental, (which provides wonderful care and service) I realized that I had serious dental repair work that had been ignored or simply overlooked for years and I have since had taken care of. DO NOT trust you dental health to this shyster enterprise. read more

This is most unprofessional place I have ever seen. Individual called Allen Benzehafer or whatever, not just that is unprofessional, but rude, unexperienced, and blaming patient for job he can't do. In my case, after going back and forth almost two months two crowns later he couldn't make the right shade and blamed me. Poor technician agreed with me it's bad. I left facility being not treated nice, left without fixed tooth, and till this day I don't have permanent crown because they keep sending to my Insurance wrong Claim. Even my insurance had enough of them. I don't use energy to leave reviews but maybe I can save someone's time and energy- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! read more

I'd figure I give an update to this establishment since the last review was in 2013. I'm a student who wanted to get a simple cleaning because I have all my x-rays done by my dentist at home. They were NOT able to accommodate me because they required a full mouth scan of my teeth. Even if I'm a new patient, I have the right to decline any services that a dentist can provide. Since the hygienist didn't want to clean my teeth without an x-ray, I left. Simple. Not accommodating, lack of professionalism, old & sad office are the words that describe this office. Do. NOT. Go. TRUELY HORRENDOUS! This place used to be ok, I've been to the location in Northampton as well but left due to crappy service from the receptionists. The Dentist have been rotating in and out of this place and there must be a reason why. The newest dentist I have worked with, Dr. Sh**** is rude, impatient and immature. I do not feel confident in her abilities and the only reason I am still going here is to complete a service that I have already paid for. The best dental hygienist I have ever had was at this place, but she retired this summer. Do yourself a service, DO NOT COME HERE. This was my first time here, and I had the most efficient, informative, and pain-free appointment I can remember. My hygienist was very careful, gentle, and communicative, and I couldn't believe how easy and comfortable everything was compared to my past few dentists. I also appreciated the ease of setting up an appointment, the reminders from the office (although I do almost wish they had an option for organized people who don't need quite so many reminders), and the negligible wait time once there. read more

My first experience with 1rst Advantage Dental was both pleasant and surprising. Lauren, the Receptionist, was very accommodating and managed to find an appointment for me just before a busy holiday. Mary, Dr Ganatra's Assistant, patiently assisted me with completing my information packet, prior to being seated for my procedure. Dr Ganatra is very professional, knowledgeable and gently explained the importance of bringing my appliance with me to the next appointment.
