Will not recommend to anyone had a leak at the house, city came by and stated we were leaking almost 60 gallons a hour. I couldn't see anything and told them I did leak test on the tanks and thought maybe it could be a toilet but that doesn't explain that much water. First day, they were almost an hour late to the 2-4 window that was booked, I had to cancel. They came back a 2nd day, Santiago and Levy did their exam and came to conclusion to replace toilet tank and shower cartridge upstairs. I mention that I don't think that those 2 items could be causing a leak that's almost a gallon a minute. They say that it's the first step and that the person they spoke to on the phone said to do that first. That quote was 600$. I'm not paying 300$ to rebuild a toilet tank, I can buy a new toilet and replace it myself for that price. So they proceed with the shower cartridge.. after attempting for an hour, he realizes he has the wrong part and says he needs to go get that part... this will cost me an additional 225$!!! So... they took the WHOLE day to replace that cartridge. When I asked what happened, the tech said he installed it upside down!! (Y'all, this is who you will be hiring) And guess what 500$ later, that didn't fix the water leak! So they say they will send someone else to do the slab leak test. That will cost me an additional 500$. I'm not happy so I call the company, the "owner" says that he was unhappy about how long his techs took for the job and also how they were late the day prior. (Of course only after I Mention all of this) if the owner was really upset about that, a company that cares about their clients should probably CALL the client first. This company is only worried bad reviews that are going to be left. They say it's all from warranty companies not them.... I was a PAYING customer! Do NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! They will take your $$ and ask you to fix everything but get to your problem! I went with a different company and guess what, they found the issue in 5 minutes and were on time! Well, my New Year 2025 started off GREAT with 1st American Plumbing! Another company no-show'd and while re-contacting that company, I accidentally called 1st American. Ya' know those moments when "things are meant to be"? Having owned a business for over 25 years -- and having lived in SoDak, CA and TX -- I can say with absolute certainty that 1st American outshines all other plumbing companies in customer service, professionalism, expertise, timeliness, follow-thru .... and integrity. This company was sent out by Fidelity home warranty to address a series of plumbing issues in my client's home. The technician was competent and polite, and resolved some basic issues, however, when it came to major ones, he drafted reasons to have the warranty company reject these items and drew up an estimate which was almost double the average pricing for those jobs (eg $135 to replace a flush handle?!!). Clearly a racket to use the warranty company as an entry point and drum up their own business. I wouldn't use them again. read more

We had quite a problem with our disposal/sink drain clogged. They were on site 8a the next day (11/8/23) and had the problem resolved before lunch. Their technician Santiago walked me through what the issue was, what equipment was needed and the cost, and how to avoid issues in the future. Couldn't recommend First American Plumbing enough. read more

If I could give this company, no Stars I would. Here's why... they serviced my home through American home shield company. They switched out my water heater to a smaller water heater and left wires hanging from my ceiling in the garage. I have been back and forth with both companies and the issue is still not resolved. It has been well over three months and there is a fire hazard in my garage. I have since then canceled my contract with American home shield because they were double charging me per month. Now neither of the companies want to complete the job not only that they took my Lord water heater and replaced it with a smaller one. I have never been treated so badly. I guess it's time for me to call the new stations about the customer service. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. We were assigned this company through American Home Shield on 1/7/2021. The company came on 1/13/21. They said they needed to order a part (for the leaking faucet) from the manufacturer. Almost 3 months later and they are still saying the part has not come in. We have seen the part available ourselves at local hardware stores and on eBay and we have told the company this. 1st American plumbing has never proactively updated us on anything. We continue to call and email regularly, without any resolution. I also continue to complain to American Home Shield. Very frustrated and disappointed. read more

Do not use. Very simple job, but they didn't take the time to figure it out. They were supposed to replace a pump, but they replaced with the wrong kind (sump instead of effluent), so of course it doesn't work and doesn't fix the problem. Had multiple flood incidents in the garage because of this. All of this taking 4 weeks for what should have been very easy. They refuse to swap out with the correct pump or refund my money, so I have to buy the right pump and fix it myself now after spending $1k with them. Screens calls to not answer, won't call back, won't help with warranty on a pump that doesn't work. Very poor customer service from the owner. Really disappointed that I had to spend so much money with them to not have anything fixed, and then having to spend more money to get the right pump and fix it myself. Very poor communication. Either they dont call on status of a work order until you reach out or the information they provide like billing is also a surprise after the work is done and this is after asking if there was any charge prior to the work being done. Please keep these points in mind before doing business with them directly or through a home warranty service. The service personnel does not remember he had come to my house, he was pretty sure that he has never been to my property before when he was there less than a week ago. I had to show the history of his visit to let him know. Same thing with the billing lady - she was very sure she had told me about the out of pocket cost where as she did not. AHS contracted this company to come to our home to check a pipe leak under our kitchen sink. James came to our home for all of a couple minutes, stated the wall would need to be cut open, and would submit the request to AHS. The claim was denied due to the way it was written up (claimed it was corroded due to drano which was not used). Would not recommend this company as they are looking for quick money and collected our $100 service fee without doing any work or even accurate diagnosing the problem. Had a second trusted plumbing company come out and do a diagnosis. Quoted only $375 to replace the pipe and unclog it WITHOUT cutting open the wall. Listen to the other reviews as they are accurate. They've been to my home twice. Both times they have provided extremely inaccurate and inflated estimates to me about my repairs. One was a $3000 bill for a leaking pipe. Although I was told the wall needed to be cut out and dried, the yard dug up and black mold removed. Another (first) estimate was that I had damaged my leaking faucet due to excessive force...it was 12 years old. Both times these inflated estimates were given to American Home Shield so the claims were denied. After I requested a second opinion, neither estimate provided by this company, was correct and cost me no extravagant intervention-actually no addition funding was required on my part. I'm left wondering why I was given such ridiculously inflated information (as if I wouldn't check the validity of these statements). No answer I arrived at came with a positive answer. Beware of this company. My advice to them,be sure your potential customer has no friends that are contractors! read more

Our sewer pipes have been clogged for 4 days. Another plumber came out, along with the city, and couldn't fix the clog. 1st American Plumbing offered to come and give us a 2nd opinion. They sent James and he was able to fix, was very knowledgeable, helpful and did a great job. Thank you! read more

My Master bathroom toilet decided to clog up to the point where the bowl was filling every 60 minutes or so, and unfortunately, my shut off valve was deteriorated to the point where there was no washer left at all in order to shut the water off to the toilet, so I had the unfortunate displeasure of needing to set an alarm for every hour for 36 hours to dump the bowl out down another drain. I went to Lowe's and bought an auger after I had already tried white vinegar, dish soap, baking soda, coat hangers, and every other online home remedy that I could find, along with an entire gallon of Drano, and also bought some thing called green gobbler at Lowe's. Fortunately, I was able to clear the clog on my own, but luckily I had already asked the first American come out to replace a fill valve on my downstairs toilet that I could not get to stop running, and when I called them back to tell them that I was able to clear the clog on my own but I needed to add a couple of other things to the work order, they were more than happy to accommodate me. I ended up having to switch the dates a couple of times due to work and other issues, and they were also more than happy to accommodate me. When the plumber got here, he did not happen to have any fill valves on his truck, but luckily I had already bought one, and my son had bought one as well, which I was unaware of. As it turns out, I needed two fill valves replaced anyway- one on the downstairs toilet and one on the upstairs toilet, and they also fixed the hot water on my master bathroom tub which has not worked for years. The guy was extremely professional and thorough and very efficient, (I think his name was Matt), and I was incredibly satisfied with their service. I would happily have them out again if I have any more plumbing needs . Highly recommend them! read more

I don't know, maybe I caught them on a good day or had the right technician but I can't complain about anything I experienced with these guys. Called them out through AHS to diagnose an issue with our garbage disposal and they ended up replacing with upgraded equipment. I was extremely hesitant about both using AHS and also reading the reviews on these guys but I didn't have an issue. Maybe it depends on what you're using them for? With AHS, they really try not to cover anything if they don't have to so I would imagine some of the feedback on 1st American has to do with AHS not covering expenses, therefore 1st American needing to charge/get money for work completed. read more

Stay Away!! Liars and terrible business. Cost me so much time and money and left the problem worse then when they arrived. Sent by American Home Shield, the first time they came and left saying they needed authorization from AHS and never came back or called. 10 days later I finally got in touch with them and spent hours on the phone going between them and AHS Bc they never actually contacted AHS for the re-auth. When they finally came back out to fix the other issues, the technician James said everything was working but refused to leave an invoice and said he would email it. Immediately after he left we turned on the sink and the backup was significantly worse than before he arrived and seemed to be a new, different issue then we initially had which only occurred when the dishwasher ran. This was now a full blown stoppage and the sink was inoperable. They then sent an estimate for $3k to fix a sink backup I didn't even have the day they started. When I called and asked why the technician didn't inform us when he was on site and why the invoice didn't reflect what was verbally discussed I was hung up on by the onwers wife. I called back and mentioned the terrible BBB reviews the owner got on the phone screaming at me saying I was an idiotic a fool, uneducated, and that was going to report me to the police for harassment and to never call them again. I'm left with a giant issue I didn't have before they came. This is a very very sad, angry man you should not waste your time with. If American Homeshield places you with this contractor ask for a different one. read more

READ THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS BELOW BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY. Called Camri (who said she was the "owner's wife") on a Friday. She said she needed to speak with the plumber "Avery" regarding why the job was not completed. She explained that he may not call me back that day because was "taking a half day" but that he would call me on Monday. I called them Monday morning--no answer. American Home Shield also tried to reach them. No answer. Called back and got Camri 2.5 hours later. She said, "Did Avery not call you?" I told her that he had not and that I no longer wanted to wait for him because it had now been weeks with my sink continuing to leak. I asked again (as I had on Friday) "Is someone not covering for him? No one else can answer the question for him?" She told me, "I said we would call you back on Monday. It is 1:30 in the afternoon and we still have business hours left in the day to call you back." I asked if I could speak with her husband and she said, "He does not take calls from customers." She ended up getting angry with me, telling me that she was not going to do business with me and hung up the phone. Such an easy way to avoid this. I told her I was going to leave reviews with Google, BBB, Yahoo, etc. but this did not matter to her. read more
