loved this place so much. food came out very fast, and it was fresh and delicious. We didn't have a reservation, but we did not have to wait at all for a group of 5 of us during peak dinner hour on a weekend. The mapo tofu was so so good. The chicken vegetable dish were filling and packed with veggies, and the pork bbq buns were so soft and yummy. I also ordered a lychee martini, which was amazing! I loved the lychee fruit garnish too. Lots of seating inside with booth and tables. The service was great overall, and the tablets used to order are convenient and efficient.

Who doesn't love dim sum? Not this gal. My sister suggested dim sum before I go back home. Sure, I said! This place serves traditional Chinese and dim sum that you can order via table. We ordered a bunch of items. Most were hits! The shu mai were so good, juicy and hot. I also enjoyed the chive pan fried dumplings and the sticky rice. The radish cakes were soft and pillowy. The congee was perfect tasting, didn't need any seasoning. The short ribs were a bit too fatty for my taste. After all that food, they give you the tastiest, crispy almond cookies and fortune cookies. It's a nice restaurant, the service is fast and the prices are good. Love it!

Beef and vegetables, not very good.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago, but something has definitely changed! The food used to be delicious and cooked to perfection. When you sat down, the server would bring you a soothing cup of jasmine tea, and the restaurant was always clean, cozy, and inviting. Now, none of that is the same. My beef was chewy and lacked flavor, you're handed an iPad to place your own order at the table, there's no personal service, and half of the staff doesn't speak English. Oh, and that wonderful jasmine tea? Gone! They do, however, make a delicious Egg Foo Yung. I might go back during my next visit to the city, but only to grab the Egg Foo Yung to go.

Loved it! A great place for either a full meal or a quick snack especially if you're sightseeing around The Bean! You order from an iPad and the wait is minimal for the food to come! Love eating at this restaurant, there are various locations around town!

I love this place! I eat here every time I am in Chicago. The food is fantastic. I love the baos, chow fun, har gow, etc...everythibg is good. This restaurant has tons of tables and is good for large groups. Only inside seating.

Had a hankering for dim sum and this place did not disappoint. The plates came out quickly with good portions. Duck was tender and flavorful but not a ton of meat on the bone. Dumplings were ok, same with the sticky rice. Wonton soup had lots of good ingredients. A reluctant 4 stars owing to the quality which was 3.5 stars, service was 4 stars, prices average.

Food was nice, service was prompt, I liked the lotus leaf rice, the crispy pork belly macau style was cold and was served with white sugar. Even though it was interesting, I didnt like it so much as the thick layer of fat was cold and odd, but overall, I liked the dining experience here.

I loved the service.. but the thing that stood out the most was that I didn't have to order on the spot, because of the iPad . I personally hate ordering directly so that's a BIG plus. The atmosphere was calm, and the food was excellent. Staff were polite, friendly, and went above and beyond for us. GREAT JOB !!! + bathrooms were clean but still pretty to look at.

In Chicago on September 11th and was looking for something good to eat after having a stomach ache from some bad food. This place was in walking distance of my hotel. Finally found it after my GPS took me all around the world. Restaurant was ok, rug had a slight smell. But was taking my food to go so I was good. Food was very good. Shrimp were cooked well and they gave a lot of food. Would go back & recommend.

Salty Fish and Chicken Fried Rice

What a delicious meal for our first time in Chicago! We came on the 4th of July holiday around 6:15 pm and were seated right away. It was very spacious, clean, modern and aesthetic. The 4 of us shared the salted fish and chicken fried rice, beef pan fried noodles and salt and pepper fish fillet. Everything was delicious and flavorful! The fried rice was moist and not dry, and had a good amount of flavor without being too salty. The beef pan fried noodles were good and savory though it wasn't as crispy as I'd like. The salt and pepper fish fillet was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and wasn't dry or salty. Portions were big and decently priced. Service was good and pretty quick! I would definitely come back if I come back to Chicago.

Came on a Friday on the 4th of July around 6:15PM and were seated right away! The 4 of us shared the salty fish and chicken fried rice, beef pan fried noodles, and salt and pepper fish fillet and were all full! My favorite was definitely the salt and pepper fish fillet- definitely one of the best I've had ANYWHERE! It was so crispy and flavorful, not salty or dry at all. Same for the salty fish and chicken fried rice, it was moist and the right amount of flavor. The beef pan fried noodles were good but comparable to other Chinese places. Portions were big and dishes decently priced. Service was good and they even gave us almond cookies and fortune cookies at the end of the meal. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Chicago!

    BBQ Pork (char siu)
    Matt W.

This review is purely and only for the char siu (roast pork). Everything else could be delicious (though looking around, I wouldn't bet on it). This isn't $20 char siu; this is the $5 char siu you get at a place that also serves fried chicken and french fries. The fat ratio is way off, there is no caramelization...this is pork that has been tortured, dyed red, and then doused in soy sauce. Served with a literal tea cup of white rice. Come on; who scrimps on white rice? If you care about your BBQ pork, this is a hard pass.

Absolutely! This IS a dim sum reastaurant

Yes, they have just vegetable dishes.

    Are there carts?

No. But it is very easy to order. The ordering is done on an iPad, which shows you the dish name and a picture, so you know what you order.

    What is siu mai?

The key to life... Pork & Shrimp dumpling that goes perfectly well with a little hot sauce.

Do I need reservation to get a table?

You do not need a reservation, but I would recommend one for peak times and large groups. The dining area is very spacious though, so even if you have to wait it won't be for very long.

Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table, or share a big one with another party at peak times. Prices are reasonable and portions are pretty generous. ===== Kind of lost count of how many times I've been. Love getting the dim sum and noodle dishes here. Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Not only will you get a table faster, but I think they tweak their portion sizes depending on how crowded it is. Definitely will be back! And I recommend you visit too

Communication was a challenge since very little English was spoken, and the descriptions of the dishes were lacking. I don't enjoy gambling on menu titles that sound good but end up being something completely different from what you expect. Some of the more familiar dishes were solid. The Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef were both pretty good and tasted like what you'd expect from most Chinese restaurants. Other dishes were much harder to understand, even after asking questions about how they were prepared or whether they were sweet or savory. We ordered the Sauteed Chicken in Hot Spicy Sauce Rice, which turned out to be very heavy on Sichuan peppercorns with a strong floral aftertaste. The chicken sat on a bed of what looked and tasted like deep-fried kale, and despite the word "rice" in the name, there was no rice in the dish at all. That's one item we won't be ordering again. We also tried the Fish Filet with Hot and Sour Lime Sauce. It was basically a sweet-and-sour style fish dish. It wasn't bad, but it leaned much sweeter than expected. Another thing to note: none of the dishes come with white rice--it's completely à la carte. We only found that out after ordering. With prices being what they are these days, it would be nice if they included at least some white rice like most Chinese restaurants do. Overall, the food wasn't terrible, but the lack of clear descriptions and communication made the experience frustrating. I prefer restaurants where expectations are clear rather than discovering surprises after the food arrives.
