Let me begin by saying that everyone there was SO friendly and kind. I went on the recommendation of a friend who gets her nails done here every three weeks. My expectations were high since she only sang their praise. I arrived and was greeted immediately and asked to take a seat and choose a color for my nexgen manicure with tips. A few minutes later I was attended by a technician who was very kind and tried to help me feel more comfortable. He began the manicure and we chatted. I haven't had a nexgen manicure done before and didn't know what to expect or look for, so I asked many questions which he answered politely. I noticed that the tips were kind of sloppy and asked multiple times if there was still time to file and cut them. He replied that there was and he assured me he would do so. Once he began applying the gel polish I asked if this was the final step. He said yes and I let him know they looked uneven. He said it was just the remnants of the tip that would come off with a brush scrub (I would have assumed they would take care of this with the file). He offered to do it for me and I let him but there was little improvement. I felt a little rushed as he had already started another customers manicure so I paid and left. I was really disappointed. My nails were jagged, uneven in length and one was a little loose. The shape also varied from nail to nail. They looked pretty bad. One of my thumb nail tips was not glued on all the way so there was a gap between my actual nail and the tip towards the center of my thumb. I really hated them unfortunately. They were all so so nice, but I can't overlook the quality. I did mention that I had never had a nexgen manicure done before and now feel that maybe he figured I wouldn't know any different. 4 stars for friendliness but 1 for quality. One nail tip started tearing after getting my keys out of my purse. I'm sure others have had great experiences here but my end result was awful. UPDATE: The nails did not last a day. After they started falling apart I just removed them. Will not be going here again. Glad others have had a better experience here though. read more

I have been going here for years. For the price , service and end product does not get any better. No salon is perfect but I believe they are extremely close to it. I am actually shocked that a few people are stating the staff is rude as they all are the nicest sweetest people I have ever met. Lynn, Lena, and all are some of the most accommodating people I have ever come across and I am in sales so that speaks volumes to me. I understand, eat, and breath customer service on a daily basis. I know how hard it is to accommodate clients especially when some clients have bad attitudes or unrealistic expectations. With this being said........I HAVE never seen Lynn be rude to anyone and I have been coming here for over 16 years. Let me repeat this NEVER, NEVER!!!!! On a side note I was actually present about 7 months ago when most recent bad review was there @Silvat V. I remember her because she was very rude and condescending to the technician that was doing her toes. I don't think anyone , no matter how high and mighty they think they are, should treat anyone with disrespect or like they are better then them.Period . So @ Silvat V you should recognize we all go to bed the same way and wake up same way. Your behavior when I was there was one of the most disgusting , belittling, demeaning acts of treatment to a human being I have ever witnessed. To be fair There was a language Barrier between the technician and You but you acted like she was invisible and kept asking Lynn to direct her ......... and one point you literally pointed your finger at her , waved it, and Firmly said NO your doing it wrong. I am going to Chalk this up to you being young, you looked maybe mid 20's to early 30's, and not knowing or experiencing life yet but you definitely need a lesson in respecting others period. I believe your expectations are unrealistic and you probably should go to another salon but I have a feeling your always going to be disappointed. I have been getting holographic nails for over two months and never had an issue like what you were seeing........ they also guarantee there nails and will fix any broken ones for free at anytime. since your family and you have been going here for years you should know that. I also have hard time believing Lynn hung up on you......I am calling bs on that one as I can see why some workers would be rude to you by the way you speak to them but Lynn is a professional. I personally have been present when clients loose there cool and Lynn has never gotten upset or heated. She is always as calm as a cucumber. Neither here or there I will get off my soap box. Just can't stand when people post inaccurate or untrue information as honesty is what yelps all about. Lena has been doing my nails for over 12 years and she is fantastic. Amy and Susan do a great job with Pedicures and manicures as well as with kids :-). Kathy is amazing at lash extensions and Lynn is one of the best owners I have ever met. She cares about her employees, the client, and her salon. Lena and her are amazing. I love this salon, there quality, there service and most of all I love that they are on top of all new nail trends. This is my favorite nail salon. I get manicure and pedicure for a great price and they do a fabulous job. Very thorough and it looks great. Nicole only works Saturdays and does the best toenails with pretty design every time. I gave referred several friends and they all love it too and keep going back. So I've stop writing reviews about business a long time ago. Mostly because I've had no reason to say anything but good things on social media, but unfortunately I'm going to have to express the horrible service this place gives. One of my friends referred me to a nail salons called 1st for Nails in Carrollton TX. I went to this place purely on referral, and asked for the technician Leena to get my dip nails done. First time I went was a few months back, I loved how she did my nails and I was so happy I swore to come back! I returned again back in January and I schedule and appointment for a pedicure with An and a dip session with Leena. I arrived ten minutes early, and picked my colors. I'm waiting for about ten minutes when I asked the owner when someone would be taking me. She immediately got defensive with her tone and said someone will be with your shortly. After another ten minutes I asked again and she said I already told you someone will be with you shortly. I ended up waiting for about 20 minutes, until my pedicure tech came up to me and proceeded to have me sit in a chair and the desk of the nail tech Leena would was going to do my hands. I was confused? I wanted a pedi at the pedicure chair not in a bucket on the floor while getting my nails done. So I asked the owner what was going on since she was the person who scheduled this. She tells me well I scheduled them together because I did not know you wanted them separately. Now I'm super annoyed I've waited twenty minutes for the wrong service? I told her I'm not happy, but ok, So she proceeds to rectify the situation by telling ok never mind we will have it done at the pedicure station like you wanted. Perfect! I'm happy- my pedi was ok, and the tech An was nice. I proceed to sit in Leena's chair for my hands. From the moment I sat down she was already upset, because I had made a comment about them running twenty minutes behind. I'm making small talk being nice and she continues to just have this attitude in her tone!! It frustrated me immensely- I'm here to relax, I'm here because i enjoyed her service, I'm not here to be treated badly. After the service was over I tipped nicely and left. Even after this, I made an appointment for today with Leena for my nails again. I was in and I started picking a color. She approached me and I said hi, and said can you help me pick a color which matches my toes? She's immediately mean and says no I can't you need to pick yourself.... um ok? I'm really confused at this point like what's wrong with her? Then she says someone from your "community" told me you said I'm rude? That you left me a review on yelp? I said firstly this is my third time here, why would I be here if I left you a review on yelp saying anything about you? No doubt she was rude period last time too, and I may have mentioned this to a friend in passing conversation but regardless, I'm a paying customer entitled to a service with GOOD customer service and respect! She then continues to say no you did leave me a review I'm like where? Show me? And she couldn't of course since there wasn't one. And said no someone told me etc etc, at this point I'm furious, I'm defending myself like hey, I have no clue what your talking about. She asks me to leave? And said I don't want to do your nails. I'm PISSED- rightfully so, she's accusing me without any review to show me, and even if I do think she's rude she simply proved my point! I asked for a manager or owner and wasn't able to speak to one. Before I left I told her she is definitely rude, needs to learn customer service or shouldn't be in this industry, as well as now i would be sure to leave her the review she so well deserved! 0/10! I will never refer or bring business to such a place ever! Go at your own risk if you want to be treated like dirt for a service your paying for- it's not free! And my dignity is more precious or important then the quality of someone's work! First for nails, you guys are terrible! Never again! read more

Let me start by saying I can not even give them a star!!!!. Lynn the "owner" was so rude and disrespectful of just about everyone in there. If you have young daughters that you want to get mani/pedis be prepared. It recently was an Asian holiday, and many Indian woman and their daughters were at this establishment for service. Lynn scolded the young girls because they giggled and were attempting to move the pedi-chairs to get comfortable. I could not believe it! She then told them "she did not want to hear any noise", yet she and her technicians were clearly speaking their language across the entire building. One nail tech told my daughter that her nail beds were uneven, not the length of her nails!!! What!!!??? I still can not get over it!! This was my first time her and I will never go back. All the technicians were rude and not all were licensed to do nails, which is why they only do pedicures. The service at this nail salon is horrendous. Not only do the nail technicians hardly speak English (so they have to ask their supervisor to translate everything I say) but they are also very rude and don't care at all about customer satisfaction. Nancy picked at my cuticles so hard that they bled and then she decided to pour acetone on my finger nails and it STUNG like no other. It was basically the most painful manicure I've ever received. On top of that, she did a horrible job (see photos). Go to literally any other nail salon in the metroplex. I promise you if you go to this place you WILL regret it. Trust me. read more

I think I've finally found a nail salon near my new house that I'll go to regularly. I've tried several since moving to Carrollton six months ago and haven't been happy with one until now. The first time I was here, Susan did my mani and pedi and did an excellent job. I'm back three weeks later and none of my nails have broken. I got a deluxe manicure with gel polish. At other salons, sometimes they sand the tops of my nails so much that even with the gel polish they end up breaking. Here, they didn't do that and they stood up to my active life for three weeks with no breaks. They're very friendly and accommodating. Last time, I made an appointment the same day for pretty late and they stayed late to do my mani/pedi and were very friendly the entire time. The pedicure chairs are really good massage chairs. I've been in some that were more annoying than relaxing, but these really feel good on my back. They play some relaxing spa-type music which adds to the overall pleasant experience. My only complaint is that they have one technician do both the manicure and pedicure which takes longer than having two people working at the same time. But overall, that's not that big of a deal. I'll just make sure I visit when I have time. I'll keep coming back. read more

They did the worst acrylics possible. I had specs of glitter in my nails, bubbles, and the first day I got them done they looked grown out because she didn't fill them on properly. I started getting my nails done at First for Nails 10 years ago, at that time I lived in Carrollton. But seven years ago I moved from Carrollton to the Southlake area but I continue to make the drive to get my nails done at First for Nails. I have gotten manicures (acrylic and gels, pink and white, etc.) and have always been very satisfied at the quality of the work and especially the prices. I just had the worst experience here!!! I'm sooo upset. Lena is so rude. I have been here several times to see only Lena because she does really good job as far as applying the next gen powder and her white Solar tips are always on point. Now her shaping can be better but I figured we can work on that together. I can't deal with her HORRIBLE ATTITUDE any more though. My mom had been going to this place for 20 years when it first opened before all of the owner changes but the current owner Lynn is a very rude person. She thinks she is so perfect but her customer service sucks and does not take complaints very well. I have been going here ever since I was a little girl. I never got my nails done by Lynn but got them done with this lady named Leena there is nothing wrong with her employees except for herself and the man she has working for her. He does a terrible job and does not know what he is doing. He always left my friends disappointed. I brought in a friend one day and she wanted stripes on her nails. He instead literally colored in the tips of her nails VERY sloppily we had a facial appointment to go to next so I asked Lynn if she could just tell him to stop doing what he was and let the polish be and return us our five dollars she said no and failed or does not want to understand that he sucks and cannot understand one word of english. We showed him a picture of the simple diagonal stripes she wanted and yet he was so dumb. We got into an argument and my mom and I refuse to go back because she is the rudest person you could meet and told me to never come back again. so today my daughter and her friend went in for white acrylics, even though my daughter was called back first she sat down and the lady left her cause she forgot she had an appointment. so her friend started before she did! my daughter sat there for 35 minutes WAITING and she did not get service till after her friend had finished. even though there was a girl sitting there doing NOTHING WHAT SO EVER!!! keep in mind we had looked at the price chart to see how much a full set would cost..the chart said $20! we had gotten charged $5 for shaping $5 for COLOR (WHITE) and $5 for design (on HALF of one of our nails) so if you do the math that should have been only $35 dollars..but no! we got charged $50 because they wanted white!!! so then she finally got a technician doing her nails, she had left one corner sharp, so my daughter asked if she could make it even she said "yea, im not done" but she did the WRONG nail and left it sharper than the others. THEN she cut all her nails different lengths, so now one hand is really long and the other one is pretty much the same length of her real nails. not to mention the manager told us 1 thing on the phone then told us the complete opposite at the salon, over all she was snarky. i do not recommend this place at all! i do recommend castle hills, they have reasonable prices and great costumer service and free drinks! read more
