I was extremely impressed with the quality and caring of the staff and the condition, feeling and cleanliness of the facility. After my vet was unable to identify what was going on with my six year old Shih Tzu, his increasing loss of control of his hind legs and bouts of severe pain, I decided it was time to say, "Good-bye." As difficult as it was, I knew it was the best decision. I parked, called and after a very short wait Patrick met me at the car. I told him what was going on and within minutes we walking down the hall and I noticed how clean, well maintained and equipped each room was. When we reached a private room it was well lit, serene, clean and comfortable. Desiree, the lead Veterinary Technician comforted the little guy, examined him and said before anything was done Dr Begay would need to check him. Her exam indicated he had IVDD Intervertebral Disc Disease and would only get worse. When it was time, as I help him, Dr. Degay softly explained everything that would happen, what to expect and made sure I had whatever time I needed. She was extremely caring, patient, understanding and kind. This was a difficult, yet right, decision and 1st Pet made this experience as good and calm as it could possibly be. They called multiple times to update me about my pup, and let me know when she was ready to go and gave me at home care instructions over the phone and on paper. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. We rushed our dog in (25 min drive for us) because we were told he could be seen when we came in. We were very concerned for our dog that was bit by another dog. The bite is near his eye, so that is concerning as well as the possibility of infection. Once we got into the room to complete paperwork they told us it would be 4-5 hours so we could leave him and come back. (We were taken aback, but again concerned for our dog so we left him) After 5 hours we had heard nothing from them, after 6 hours I called. He hadn't even been seen by the doctor, in a kennel for 6 hours and in pain... they said there were 3 dogs ahead of him and he would be next...2 more hours go by...one more hour and we call again. Same thing, we were told he was not as critical as the other animals coming in and there are 3 others ahead of him. I'm taken aback, I'm not sure what to say. They couldn't have called and let us know anything? A doctor couldn't look to see just how severe this is? We drive another 25 minutes back to pick up our injured dog that had to sit in a kennel for 10 hours. Unacceptable. read more

Yesterday I had to have my 21 year old cat euthanized. One of the most difficult things that I have ever had to do. The staff here are so kind, and caring. This facility is spotless. They give you a private comfortable room to say your goodbyes, and never rush you. They made a horrible experience, bearable. This is the second cat we have taken there. I highly recommend 1st Pet. I took my 8 year old cattle dog here on June 28th. Her health began to fail quickly and I made the difficult decision to have her put to sleep. The entire staff was caring, thoughtful and kind, which meant so much. I then received a sympathy card signed by each staff member along with a short note from each. It touched my heart. So thoughtful! Yes, it's very pricey, but I think it's a given that emergency pet care is more expensive. Staff was very careful, yet accommodating amidst COVID. If I could rate minus stars I would. This place is the worst. Took my new puppy in on emergency Christmas Eve Day. From the receptionist to the vet, prognosis was grim. Without testing beyond a temperature reading (normal) a quote was prepared for hospitalization ($3k plus) or outpatient care ($1k plus). I took the dog home and she was fine and frolicking (I have video to prove it) half hour later. Alternate vet pronounced her fine. She probably ate a plant or whatever causing her unsteadiness. I shudder to think what she would have been put through had I not listened to my gut. Insult to injury, I was chastised and treated with outright contempt for leaving with the dog. Made to sign four, four!, AMA forms. Cost me $110 for zero care and potential harm to my dog. Shame on everyone on duty that day that pushed more for $ than the well being of my pup read more

Had my dog(Jett) taken in for an emergency, went to this vet because no one else was open. They hardly did the bare minimum to treat my dogs major wounds (bit in neck by pit bull)! Spent 300+$ when I might as well have waited until the morning and go to a decent vet that isn't heartless and cares more about $$ then the injured innocent animals they treat!!! My dogs staples tore very quickly after picking him up when I took him to regular hour vet, they removed the staples and drained his wound of dead skin, string and dirt, and said this vet should be reported! Completely ridiculous, how a vet can care for someone's dog so poorly and steal your money like that. My poor fur baby could've died thanks to the asshole half ass vets that treated him on 9/17/19. If I could do 0 stars I would. I can't believe this place is still open. Absolutely terrible and borderline abusive to the animals. Took our dog in for constantly throwing up and they put her in a kennel in the back for an entire day without doing a single thing for her. She hadn't eaten or drank anything for almost 2 days because she can't hold anything down and they didn't do a single thing for her. When we finally got a response we were told she needs a $7000 surgery. Then when we asked questions we were talked down to by the vet who apparently thinks she superior based on her vet experience. The entire staff has no idea what they're doing. While we were complaining at the front desk another lady came in bawling her eyes out saying she wanted her dog back and that they hadn't done anything for him in over 12 hours. Weird how often people are having the same problem with little or no care for their animal while they sit around. This place is pathetic and shouldn't be allowed to care for any dogs or animals. My 9 week old puppy from our litter had some coughing and was having trouble breathing. He was put on oxygen which was helping and he had perked up and his gums were getting their color back. They wanted $900 up front. But accepted $170 deposit for office visit instead. The doctor came in and said he needed 2 days in ICU for pneumonia for 6k-7k or we could euthanize him. We could get a loan or a credit card to help pay. If we wanted to keep him for 24 hours it would still be $3.8k. If we took him home it be a cruel death. The front office lady said a vet tech would love to adopt him and would assume care but we'd have to do an owner surrender to the hospital. I was ok with that because we had to cancel his adoption because of his coughing. The girl comes back in and said the office manager said no. I said why? His breed? Well no too much loopholes and red tape. So his life wasn't worth the time? He wasn't worth trying to stabilize and giving me more than 10 minutes to see which way he would turn? He had been fine a few hours earlier? He ate, played, poo and peed then bam. It was like my worst nightmare. A cruel joke. I tried to negotiate down the price so we could at least give him and us time. But it was do or die. It was awful. He deserved so much better than that. In retrospect I should have just taken him out and somewhere else. There needs to be an EMTALA law for pets. read more

This was the most amazing experience. The staff was incredible. The office is beautiful. The moment we drove up we knew we were at the right place after spending the morning trying to find an emergency vet and having already been to one place. Thank you so much. Our little Chimi is doing so much better. We are so grateful!!!! OH! And a basket of snacks were brought to us. It was early in the morning. My daughter had been up most of the night with Chimi and we left the house without breakfast. A great assortment of snacks after not getting the time to eat breakfast???? PRICELESS!!! THANKS! An excellent emergency vet. Although I did have a 4 hour wait, my new foster cats situation wasn't dire. Right off the bat we knew what to expect. The front desk girls let me know when I walked in that we were expecting a 4 hour wait. Fine with me on a Sunday when everyone's closed! They promptly got my foster cat and I a room to stay in until we could be seen. Tech came in and did vitals right off the bat and explained the wait and that there are two critical patients ahead of me which was why the wait was so long. A front desk girl came in with waters and offered me juices or snacks! Vet promptly took care of my baby Frank as soon as she could, quick diagnoses and readily going into surgery. For the 2 hours for surgery they let me leave. They took the rescue owners CC over the phone too! Awesome service, prompt diagnoses, prices for an emergency vet aren't bad either. My first clue to stay away from this place should have been his tone on the phone. Rude. Insulting. But I thought, ok...maybe he's having a bad day. We all have those. So I said, I'll give it try. Sooo, I show up at this joke of a place, fill out a piece of paper and he proceeds to check my dog for a chip. No chip. Next thing I know he walks the dog to the back. Is bringing me the leash I had on him and said that BY LAW HE HAD TO TAKE THE DOG. I said, wait a minute. What do u mean by law you have to take the dog? I was planning on going door to door where I found the dog and try to find its owners. And he said mam, BY LAW, I have to take the dog. I asked what they were going to do with the dog and he said turn him over to the human society and they may be able to adopt him out. I instantly started crying because in my heart I knew that the humane society was a death sentence. I apologized to this....I'll keep it clean...I apologized to this guy and said "I'm sorry I'm just a huge animal lover and I don't want to see this dog go to the humane society" once again, he repeats, "mam by law I have to take the dog" and proceeds to say "he's a sweet dog he may get adopted out" At that point I tried to keep my cool cause inside we all know that there are plenty of sweet dogs who get put down. I looked over at the other lady that was working with him to see if she had anything to say or if she was gonna step in and either agree with me or agree with him....and she kinda just looked at me and looked away. So I had no other choice but to leave, right. I left crying. He sat there and watched me cry. And listened to me beg to take the dog. Immediately got on the phone, called my mom hysterically crying cause all I could see was this little poor dog. Being scooted back to the vets office, the guy dragging him back there. The poor doggy didn't want to go.. Anyway, my mom agreed it was bullcrap. Called lots of other people to see if they knew of "THIS SO CALLED LAW" . EVERYONE was like this guy is crazy, there is no law like that. Soo, this lady who works with a rescue called him and let him know he was full of it and mandated the dog back to me. He then begins to tell her a TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY. THAT HE NEVER SAID ANY OF THAT AND THAT I NEVER SAID THAT I WOULD TAKE THE DOG!!!!!!!!!LIES,LIES LIES! I show back up, don't even get completely in the door yet, and the girl at the front says "he went to go get your dog" . so here comes Jonathan with my dog. Jonathan was just as big of an ass as he was the first time, and sat there and argued with me about what he did or didn't say. He totally changed his story! He sat there and watched me cry. And beg. And still took the dog. They knew they were in the wrong. I don't know what his intentions were. If he was gonna try to take the dog himself and try to sell it. Orr, if in fact he was just a heartless human being and was gonna take him to the humane society. Who the heck knows! But what I do know is, if I was the owner or head vet of this place, I DEFINITELY wouldnt want someone like that working at my office. Your a vet. You people are supposed to love animals and do anything to help/save them. NOT HIM, NOT JONATHAN!!!! And honestly now I'm doubting the whole place. Because some people called to give this place a piece of their mind. Cause so many people were bothered by this. Another lady answered (who was not there when all of this went down) and my friend asked her if she had heard what happened with the sheltie...the girl proceeds to say yes. My friend asked if the vet that was working, if he/she knew of the situation.and the girl said yes. That the vet was aware. And that he/she didn't have anything to say about it. That Jonathan didn't get in trouble. At all. Not even spoken to. So, that leads me to believe, that maybe they all dont really care!!! Our dog was hit by a car on Aug 8,2018 We rushed our dog to the 1st Pet Veterinary clinic ( mesa office) as we rushed in a tech put us in a room asked us very Vague questions. Then asked us to put our dog on the scale, told us someone would be with us shortly .... 45 minutes passed and the same tech came in and gave us some paperwork to fill out and stated they were busy and the doctor should be with us soon ..she placed a box of food in-front of us and left .all the while we could hear laughing in the back room... I said to my husband they really sound busy!! another 45 minutes pass and DR Deer appears stands at the door observing our lab from a distance .. explaining that this is a Dog safe environment and began throwing bones her way ... Not once did she ask if the dog was gluten intolerant nor did she ask if we gave our dog bones .. From the door she did her exam NOt once did she touch my dog ... she stood at the door more concerned with the estimate of an more than 500.00 to X-ray the dog give some prescriptions and a pain shot ... She stated she would return to get the dog for an X-ray.... at midnight no-one had returned to check on the dog nor had they done an X-ray ... So we left with our dog that had been given VERY POOR SERVICE .. We then received a threating call from a male stating that we need to pay over the phone ... My Husband asked for what ( you left us in a room ) the only treatment my dog received was a pain injection by a tech not a veterinarian ... I called and spoke with a Patty "A manager" about the previous night ,I stated i was willing to pay for the pain injection as that was the only care my dog had received.. She stated that she had spoke to the veterinarian and was told she did do an exam on my dog .. I stated maybe a visual exam she never once touched her . I was also told that Dr deer was a very compassionate vet ... That may very well be the case . On the night our dog was hit by a car she was not !! I do not feel my dog received the care a veterinarian takes an oath to do when she received her license . To us we were devastated that our dog was hit by a car ...to this facility we were just a number or estimate .... God as my witness she never touched my dog a tempature was never taken her abdomen wasn't checked for internal bleeding .... Because I refused to pay for an office visit that we did not receive they turned me into a collection agency .... stay far away from this place ...look at all the reviews everyone is saying the same thing.. I would suggest everyone to go to the Arizona State Veterinary medical examining board and file a complaint ... I did ... Something needs to be done with this Place !!! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE . THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. my poor kitty came in with a urinary blockage after having been nurtured at spay and neuter clinic. He went in on february 20 th. On february 21st I received a call that morning telling me there was blood in his urine and that was normal. They did not tell me he would have to be picked up that day when I clearly said I'd be at work and if I had known he would have been ready to be picked up I would have made the necessary arrangements. I get a call at 5 pm that day saying if I don't come pick him up they would be charging me more , . So I rushed out of work to go get my kitty. The quote they had provided was also different from what they had charged me. Later that day I noticed he was having a really hard time peeing and there was still blood in his urine. He seemed to be in alot of pain even after the pain meds so I called again and spoke to another technician that said I could bring him in without a charge to get looked at . I had to work all night and was unable to bring him in right away so I called and asked if I could bring him in the morning . Now they are saying that I will be charged another examination fee if I bring him in. I was told 2 different things ! I paid 28000 at this facility for my cat to be in worse shape than he was prior to getting this procedure. This is the worst experience I've ever had . The staff is extremely unprofessional and rude and they do not care about your animals . Do Not Go Here . read more

First off, the vet was very nice and understandable so that's not the issue with this place. I'm a new client and called to see how much the exam fee would be. I was quoted $50 just for the exam so I decided to make an appointment and had to give them all my info over the phone. Everything went fine until it came to payment and they said it was $65 for the exam. I told them I was quoted 50 and they just said sorry but I can't change the total and everyone else is busy and there's no manager on site. I was forced to pay it but I'll never return here until front desk learns how much their exam fee really is. read more

We were here on Sunday, November 28th for a euthanasia of our dog, Lambeau. Lambeau was suffering from an enlarged heart and was breathing rapidly, struggling to walk, and fainting from lack of oxygen while at home. We brought him in thinking we would put a peaceful end to his life. The clinic refused to euthanize him due to him being alert and them not feeling comfortable doing it. We opted for treatment from the clinic instead as this is what they recommended and the tech told us with treatment Lambeau could live for years to come. Lambeau spent 7 hours at the clinic on Sunday only to die two hours after we brought him back home. When we picked him up from the clinic they assured us his weak walking and excessive panting was from the drugs they had given him for his heart. Well the stumbling and panting never stopped since he arrived back home with us. He died going through pain and suffering due to the incompetence of this clinic. My wife called in at 11pm to tell them he had passed and they had no sympathy or any concern other than to offer we could bring him in for $175 to cremate him. Not to mention we spent just over $1,000 to treat him only for him to die two hours after he got home. What a way to treat your customers and more importantly the pet they loved. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. No sympathy, no compassion, and in my personal opinion only out to make a quick buck. read more

After decades of having animals and vet visits, today was by far the worst I have ever experienced! Inept, no compassion, and shady billing. I took my elderly cat in due to an upper respiratory infection today, on Thanksgiving, as he required an immediate course of antibiotics. My mom and I waited with him patiently for several hours knowing it would take some time during a holiday. After 3 hours I finally asked the front desk staff how much longer, which was met by ambivalence and lack of empathy (they were in the middle of discussing important topics like their eyelash care), no one could give me an answer. I was told the system wasn't being updated and they didn't know. They told me that other animals needing critical care were triaged ahead of mine (although he was struggling to breathe), again I expressed that I understood that but this was an excessive period of time and longer than any experience I ever had. One of the staff chided my mom and I for not being compassionate to the other patients. Um, where was the compassion for my pet who was struggling to breathe?!? She was downright rude and uncaring. After over 4 hours the vet came in and ultimately told us he was going to prescribe antibiotics. Another 30 minutes passes, a tech came in with a prescription to be filled at a pharmacy which we couldn't do tonight being a holiday. Why in the world would I go to an emergency vet, pay over $300 to not even get the medicine he needs immediately rather than waiting another day to go to my regular vet tomorrow for half the cost?!? On top of it, they had on my invoice the charge for the antibiotic that I would have to pay for elsewhere. They were going to bill me for medicine I did not receive from them. Finally, after 5 hours and having to cancel Thanksgiving dinner for my son and guests I was supposed to cook at my house, they were checking me out. Of course the person handling my invoice told us, "I don't know how to do this" and went to get assistance. When I got home after leaving my house for this ordeal nearly 6 hours earlier, I noted they charged me twice for one of his medicines! I had to now spend more time calling to get it corrected. I will never go back again; waste of time, money and most importantly, woefully inadequate care for our precious pets. read more

It's clean and everything, but we were waiting FOREVER. Brought in our cat around 10:30pm, and yes even though it was late, we sat in the room for people to come in and help us, and would just sit there. One time it was about 30 minutes before anyone came into the room at all. It's not like they were busy at all. We didn't end up leaving until about 1am! We spent 2 1/2 hours in this place just to have our cat's eyes checked and to give us some eye drops. 2 1/2 hours! It should've taken an hour tops. Terrible service. Even if our animal were to have a more serious injury or any other problem, I would never bring them back here because we would probably be here for another 3 hours, just waiting. The staff were friendly. We spent two hours eating all their free Costco snacks and $674 for an exam, fecal testing, x rays and blood test. Vet doesnt know since testing was negative for parasites, protein levels were low since she's been having diarrhea and X-rays shows random fluid in different areas of our dog. Vet told us we should take her to an internal medicine doctor. Hmm... I kind of wish the money we spent led us to some type of answer to why our dog has diarrhea, is losing weight and is swollen but hey how about you just take our money. My husband went back to get records the next day so we can take her to our vet that we were scheduled to see but couldn't get in sooner. When he went in for the records the front desk lady told us we still owe them a urine analysis fee. She proceeded to tell him animals can't tell us and show us like humans. " Hi, to whomever in your office reading this... we know! We've had dogs our entire life, it's not even on our invoice that you did it. Everything about this place is top notch! It's super clean, the staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. You can really tell they care about the pets from the pheromones they use in the office to the calming music they play. We never have to wait and get escorted to a room right away. Dr. Brock was AMAZING!!!! She was so kind so friendly and made us and my dog feel so comfortable. She actually tries to avoid surgeries and treat issues through diet or other options first. I made a routine appointment to have my cat's urine and stool tested. I was there for almost 3 hours. By the time I was done, the doctor ended up doing an ultrasound and extensive blood work and testing. Luckily everything came back normal. I paid the bill, and shortly afterward I felt as though I was scared into getting these extra services and I felt taken advantage of. Yes, I did sign the papers, and yes, it is my fault for letting Doctor Ryan Bunce take advantage of my love for my cat. This vet is a CORPORATION. they charge HIGH PRICES. they give you snacks while you wait...i don't want to pay for snacks (in the price of services). They don't understand the wellness packages they sell and they get very nasty when you question their lack of knowledge.....I have slowly been taking my animals to another vet as their wellness packages expire. I found a great vet in Mesa that charges normal fees, no snacks while you wait because guess what???? you don't have to wait because he doesn't overbook - looks like the "corporation" favors $$$ over anything else. read more

Front desk and veterinary assistants were all very kind during our visit. I checked in with my dog at 10:30 pm after I noticed he was having issues with his eyeball. I did not leave this office till 4:30 am. Needless to say, ridiculous wait time. The real issue I had with this office was the extremely rude veterinarian Dr Marquis. She did not have any empathy for our situation and showed frequently that she was agitated when asked a question. This visit was already tough and it was frustrating to see her agitation when asked a genuine question. Will not be coming back to this office. read more

My little chihuahua got a tear in the skin on his back and it was bad enough to need stitches because the skin had been torn away. I was out of town so my sweet fiancé ran him to 1st Pet for emergency care. They kept him overnight and they stitched him up and sent him home with a drain and antibiotics and pain meds. To be clear here this is a dog that weighs 5 pounds. I am a dog trainer and have owned dogs for years and have dealt with this kind of situation before and I have been to emergency care clinics many times for my dogs and for clients dogs. The next day when my fiancé picked up my little dog he was presented with a bill that, to say the least, was flabbergasting. They charged $1500 for something that should have cost half that. We were told to keep the drain in for 3 to 5 days. On the 5th day we returned to 1st Pet to have the drain removed and were informed we needed an appointment and that it would be another $55 dollars. Wow, is all I can say!!! I have never seen a vet, let alone emergency center nickel and dime their clients like this. Shouldn't $1500 be enough to come back and have the drain removed and then the stitches?? In my experience, which is vast, this emergency center is only out to make money instead of caring about their clients and their precious animal family members. My fiancé didn't even want to tell me how much it was because he knew I would be angry knowing that this place ripped him off to help my little chihuahua!!! How do I know that they really gave him all that he was charged for when it's clear they are charging twice as much as it should cost. If it costs that much for a 5 pound chihuahua, can you imagine how much they would charge for an 80 pound dog to have the same care. It's flabbergasting and frankly highway robbery. They know your pet needs emergency care and that you love them so they take advantage of that and nickel and dime everyone to death. Not ok!!! Thank you for your reply! Just a little context. I had to have the front dew claws removed on my 80 pound Belgian Malinois a few years ago. It was an intensive surgery as you know and he had to be put under. The surgery was under a $1000. He had to have one of them restitched twice. I was not charged for the restitching or the removal of the stitches when the time came to remove them or any of the follow up visits. You should include removal (without charging more) because in the prices that you guys already charge the mark up is extremely high already. If a client chooses to go to their vet or another vet to have the after care done then that would be on them. But to continue to charge for the aftercare that should be included in the initial cost due to your extremely high mark up is wrong and doesn't show clients that you care about them or their pets. I have met others that have expressed frustration with their experience at 1st Pet as well. Being new to the area I was flabbergasted to say the least that an emergency care center for animals would charge so much initially then expect you to pay more for the follow up. I brought my dog in this last Saturday after finding him sitting next to a pile of torn up paper towels. Hunched over in pain and had vomited up a small piece of said paper towels. I brought him in to have him looked at told them several times what had happened. I was called back more than once after leaving my pup there they questioned again what had happened and then they kept going on about his back how his back might be hurting him and how they thought it was his back and I kept telling them that he had eaten paper towels. So when they call for me to pick him up after having done x-rays I get this whole spiel about his back and why it was his back and nothing about him having eaten the paper towels even though I had stressed this several times. So I left there with pain killers and muscle relaxer for my dog and a request the take him to his vet that Monday. The next day my dog vomited up the paper towel. After trying to explain this to the manager of the Mesa office he kept arguing the point then I was not a doctor and that I had no idea what was going on with my dog even though I had told them several times about him eating the paper towel. They refuse to listen they refuse any kind of a refund for a not needed X-ray or for an X-ray that I had begged them to look at his stomach but instead they concentrated on his back. All I have to say is if you have an emergency for your pet I would take them to someone who you know is going to listen to you and not talk down to you. read more

I wouldn't take a bug here. All three vets we had had under 3 years experience the first one has three months. All the symptoms are dog had they said they'd never seen before. Are dog had vomited and was drooling this was a puppy mine do they gave Ivy's and he not sure medication lotsa xrays and pain that nothing helped she worse and they didn't change anything even at our suggestions and we lost a five month old puppy in 30 hours of their care. Some of the worst care we've ever received we spent over two thousand I'm in the and it didn't matter cuz we lost our puppy everytime they talk to you they have a clipboard in front of your face with the new estimate I cannot tell you how many times we signed in over the phone had to approve anything further these people are terrible are dog would have lived if we went somewhere else. read more

We were on the way to 1st Pet Vet with my cat dying in the car, on Christmas Day, 2017. We had called in and they told us we could get a payment plan if she had to be put down and cremated. My cat unfortunately died on the way there, and after bringing her body in, they informed us that we were told false information and would have to pay in full. They didn't offer any condolences or try to be supportive, which you think they'd learn at an emergency vet clinic where a lot of pets aren't going to make it. Just stood there like "So how do you want to pay?" while we sobbed over our dead cat. This place is absolutely horrible, and I will never go again. read more

Had an appointment for 2:30 today but was having trouble finding location. I am from out of town. I called the company office three times for assistance and was told not to worry. I arrived at business at 2:50 and they then told me it was too late. They only hold appointments for 10 minutes! ! I had to leave! Shame on them! read more

****READ THIS BEFORE USING THESE PEOPLE - CON ARTISTS WHO LIE TO YOU ABOUT WHAT YOUR ANIMAL NEEDS BASED ON YOUR EMOTIONS AND ABILITY TO PAY******* -We had an absolutely terrible experience with this company - during and after we brought our 3 year old cat in for Emergency Help! My Cat is a male 3 year old Orange Manx Cat, one morning we woke up and he just looked very sick, and was unable to urinate but kept trying, so i googled ER Vet, and took him to the nearest one being this absolutely Terrible, Terrible Place I should have checked them out 1st before i brought him here it was a horrible mistake. So we are in a panic cause he is just so sick and we bring him in, I knew it was going to be costly but never thought a vet would play off your emotions in order to charge you more money, they also played off my ability to pay, I made a critical mistake when i brought him in and had advised them that I can only pay a maximum of $4,000.00, DO NOT EVER TELL THEM SOMETHING LIKE THIS. So whatever it took to fix him, dropped him off about 8:30a.m. on a Thurs., Gave Them a Down Payment of $1450.00, which was 70% of the estimated cost, total bill was a little over $2,000 at this point. So we paid that, left our cat their, called later that night around 11:00p.m. just to check on him, they said that they were able to unblock him and he is doing much better, we think thank god, the next morning, one of these bottom of their class vets that work here called my message phone to my mother, give her the rundown, tell her that he is in critical condition, didnt call us the pets owner, so my mother was busy all she was able to do was tell us he is in critical condition, we say okay mom we're gonna call the vet immediately. My fiance calls and requests to speak to the vet, so we can see what's happening with "OUR" pet. The Little Girl that works the front desk says incredibly Rudely says "look lady the vet cant call and talk to everyone, you guys need to communicate with each other, she already told someone her situation" so she is thinking **What this is My pet not my message phone's pet** she demanded to speak to her cause at this point we are thinking he's dying!! they refused to tell her anything, than had the audacity to call my mother and tell her, that we are not to call there anymore (this is 100% true we have the call recorded) so finally we get word from my mother, she tells us the situation, to save money they said that we can put him with our vet and keep him there overnight on an I.V. and would be much cheaper, but keep in mind he is in critical condition and if the I.V. falls out he could have kidney failure due to his kidney damage.. So Okay okay we ask should we keep him here.. they said yes its in his best interest... so we're allready 2 grand into this and we want him to live, so we say okay keep him, next morning he has turned around and is better, we go to get him, Im gonna bet you already know the cost right?? yeah it was 3,850.00 remember i told them my cap was 4,000... okay whatever i'm happy he's saved right... the vet explained to us, that he has crystals in his bladder, caused by his food, and has some kidney damage, sells us a bag of the food that according to the vet there was absolutely critical that he stays on this food to stop the crystals, and for his kidney, so of course okay no problem... told us we should bring him back there or to our vet for a check up, of course go to our vet, which tells us #1 he doesn't have and never did have crystals #2 He doesnt have and never did have kidney damage #3 Doesnt need to be on the special food because that food is for crystals that he doesn't have #4 after the 1st 24 hours of being at the ER vet he was unblocked and never went backwards, and was never again in critical condition... So needless to say they lied about everything, just so we would reach our max dollar amount of 4,000 dollars, so i contacted my lawyer, told him about this, in my case it worked out good because i didnt pay with my card i actually used my parents card, with their permission, but we were able to dispute these charges, I had called and spoke to the manager David, this guy is hands down the worst manager/supervisor/just human i have ever held a conversation with, i explained the situation to him thinking he would be appauled at the actions of his staff, nope not the case at all, as soon as i told him the situation, did a complete 180, started acting like a 4 year old that got his legos taken, I told him I am more than happy to pay this 1st charge of a little over $2,000, but i want to be refunded the rest, and I told him if he doesnt want to refund me the amount that is really owed, I'll just dispute all the charges and he wont get a penny, he tried to get all smart with me and say look i've dealt with tons of disputes, so my response was, hey David.. why don't you go take a look and see whos name is on that card i used.. it isn't mine, needless to say i got all my money back read more
