We drove around Yuba City for a while looking for a good Sunday breakfast place. Settled on 2 Bits as the first non-chain normal looking cafe that had a good crowd. Not fancy, but Damn good food with great service. Biggest darn biscuit we ever saw. Joes special had a nice dust cayenne pepper and steak (from steak and eggs) was a nice lean piece of meat cooked to perfection. We were so pleasantly surprised, we gave it the acid test.... Sausage gravy! We are almost always disappointed but 2 Bits was pretty good, nice medium spicy sausage without too much flour taste. read more

Okay... this was within walking distance of where my RV decided to quit for the night. My son and I walked over and found a very sweet little cafe. My 7 year old usually out eats ANY kids' menu item. The waitress suggested we split the "hungryman" (I think that what it was called) breakfast. 3 HUGE pancakes, 3 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and choice of hashbrowns or homefries. We chose the homefries and were completely happy. After both of us ate our fill we ended up taking the about 2/3 of 2 of the pancakes with us. With the "clipper cash" my son and I ate breakfast, I had coffee and he had orange juice for less than 12 bucks! NICE! The above mentioned homemade jam is for sure a great treat. read more

Not worth the wait. When we got here it was breakfast time. By the time we got to order I ordered a french dip. The beef just had a horrible flavor and the French fries were nasty and old tasting. I have never ever not eating more than one bite of a beef sandwich but that's all I could take. The same goes for the fries. I wound up eating half of my moms breakfast. Bacon was ok if you like the apple flavor. Pancakes were ok. So my mom asked them to take off my meal. The waitress fought a little with my mom. Finally took it off but came back and told her the owner tasted the meat and he said it tasted fine! Never ever will be back. read more

I loved 2 bits for a long time but the last three times I've been in I've had the same server (the old fake red headed one) and the service has been absolutely terrible, today I came in and sat down for about 5 minutes she came up and said "it's gonna be a while before I come back I have a couple tables inside" no big deal right? Wrong! She didn't offer to get us a beverage or have another server take care of us. She's just not a good sever and I never had an issue with the place until she started waiting on me. I will not be back until she is gone! She is rude, rolls her eyes when she's walking away from the table thinking we can't see her and has a generally poor attitude...and probably wonders why she doesn't get a tip. It's not hard to fake a smile and at least try and accommodate your customers. Hopefully she won't be there long and I can start going back. read more

Two Bits is a great place for breakfast. Before I forget, don't forget your clipper Magazine. Great coupons and bucks for this restaurant. We enjoy one of a kind places and my daughter-in-law loved the different mugs. She says it makes it homey. This is a mom and pop kind of place, not a chain. Let's talk foodie: My favorite is the Popeye. I order it every time we go. It's home fries with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, bacon, spinach, topped with a scrambled egg and cheese. Holy cow, it's a party in your mouth. Yummy Hub gets the chorizo and eggs or the country fried streak omelet. Coffee is plentiful and HOT! None of the like warm sludge here. Service is good and timely and the food is always hot. Have I said anything about the portions? No? How silly of me. My breakfast will give me leftover for two more days. I have only ever been here on Sunday and it is always really really busy, but the wait is well worth it. Their home fries are really really really good and I find myself craving them often now. Went today and tried out the $5 burger and fries special. Our table was the round one in the corner and the glass stunk of egg residue. It was clean but smelly. Waitress was nice and brought us our drinks. Burgers arrived and were just cheese and meat with crinkle fries that were cooked but not golden. They were kinda pale. Our burgers had a side of pickles. The guest next to us also had the $5 special but they gave him a side of tomatoes, lettuce, onions and pickles. Overall it was ok for the $5. Presentation could use an upgrade some color on the fries like the golden color we are used to. Burger was "sloppy" in appearance but good on taste. Glass can be wiped down with bleach water and that will remove that old egg stench on the glass. read more

Been here about 5 times since moving to Yuba about 2 months ago and every time has been great!! Their omelets are huge and the ingredients are super fresh. Love their potatoes with bell peppers and onions and their coffee is just good strong coffee. I love love love that they use the randomest cups makes me feel at home. Will continue coming here. ATTENTION ALL YELPERS!!! This place has recently changed owners AND the new owners are always there working, so the customer service has improved 100 fold! It's the same great food but now they have great customer service too! It's still a weird set up. You have stand at the entrance and watch people eat as you wait for a table. There's no foyer so no "waiting" area. With that said, the food is delicious and the portions are large. It's a really sweet local couple who own it now so why not support local businesses vs. corporate owned chains, especially when the food is better. Pancakes are HUGE! I don't like to give bad reviews, but I hope the restaurant owner reads this and considers making some changes. It's a diner! I know. But most diners have bad food and good service. This diner has bad service and good food. Go figure. The waitress kept bringing coffee. The restaurant A/C was very cold. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. I did not see anyone get their food while we were waiting. When we did get our food it was COLD. Not hot. Not warm. But COLD! I was very hungry, so I nibbled on the potatoes a little and the eggs, but I just couldn't stomach the COLD bacon. I could tell the food would have been great if it wasn't COLD. It's obvious that the locals keep this place going, because I think the wait staff don't step it up enough to bring in revenue equal to the cooking. read more

I was very disappointed in this restaurant. I very rarely give a place just one star on yelp, but I felt like this was one of the worst restaurant experiences. They seemed very understaffed, which I understand happens from time to time at restaurants. However, it took us approximately 55 minutes to get our food. When our food did come, my husband got the wrong side...or so we thought. My husband ordered fries and he received homestyle fries instead of french fries...which is a big difference.The waitress left before she could ask if there was anything else we needed. Our drinks were empty since we waited 55 minutes to get our food. We sat there for another five minutes not touching our food trying to get the waitress to come over to us, but she didn't. Finally I went up to the counter to ask for a refill and told the woman behind the counter that my husband was expecting fries. Instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding about fries, she started snapping at me and making me feel stupid. While this was happening, my two year old son fell off his chair and bumped his head (not the restaurants fault) so immediately I asked for to go boxes...I had to wait around for another five minutes to pay the bill. Now as far as the food goes, by the time we got home, over a half hour passed since the food was made. My husband's omelet was pretty good...it probably would have been excellent if he was able to eat it right away. I definitely would not recommend the California Chicken Sandwich. They use cheap white bread and the chicken was extremely dry. read more

Went to brunch with my boyfriend and our friends having a pretty good experience. Our friends had two dogs so this was a great spot because they allow dogs to be at there outside eating area. I ordered the special of the day which was the blueberry strudel with eggs, bacon, and sausage I also added a side of hash browns. The special was cheap I believe like $8 + hash brows ( I forgot price) with a lot of food! The only thing I would have liked was maybe an upgrade to a wooden table instead of a plastic outside table since my food on my plate was leaning to one side because the plastic table was on uneven pavement. Oh and also there was like no room to have all our plates on the small circle table so eating was a bit crowded. Other than that I had a pretty good and excellent service!!! Ever since Waffle Barn closed, I have been looking for a good 'greasy spoon' breakfast restaurant, and after reading some good reviews we stopped in today to try 2 Bits. It was super busy, always a good sign, and we had a half hour wait for a table, no worries. We were seated and waited another 10 minutes for the server. She took our order and about 1/2 hour later the food arrived. I had ordered an English muffin, which made its debut to the table after our food was finished, without an apology for it being so late. The waitress never introduced herself to us, nor did she come back to check on us. The food was over cooked and burnt. I had Clara's omelette and my hubby had the chili omelette, the eggs were so overcooked for both and the bacon in my omelette was way too crunchy. Perhaps the bad food and lackluster service was due to it being so busy, I can only hope that was the reason. I had such hopes for this place, but I will not be going back there anytime soon. Tried this place once, don't know if we'll try again. The atmosphere wasn't very welcoming. It's a packed place with very little accommodation. The food was all around okay but it took forever. I had the biscuits and gray, pancakes, and corned beef hash. The Pancakes were ok, and the texture of the corned beef hash was good although the flavors were a little sideways for my taste. It wasn't necessarily bad, just didn't resonate with my personal taste. I could see others loving it though. The biscuits and gravy were good! The half order seems like it should be for two people though so beware the portions. The service was good although the welcoming situation could be better. I walked in and there was just a pile of junk on the ground in the center where the welcome desk usually would be and nobody greeted me for a couple minutes so you just kind of have to stand there awkwardly until someone addresses you. I personally think this is amongst the best places for breakfast in the ever so boring town of Yuba City. This diner is unsurpassed by most others in the area and definitely has some of the most delectable biscuits and gravy. The gravy is so creamy and filled with just the perfect amount of well-flavored, thoroughly browned chunks of breakfast sausage. I get this every time and it only costs me about $5!
