This was an unexpected pleasure. Off the beaten path but well worth the adventure. If ya like a little tale and some meat then this is your spot. Servers are efficient and courteous. I recommend the Italian lemon cake which was a little taste of the Amalfi Coast. The owner Al Green has brought a Boston gem to western New York. Good show! read more

My review is not directed at my server, because he was very nice, but the fact that it took over an hour to get our food with no explanation is the reason. I'll say our dinners were delicious, and yes, they were very busy, but people seated 20-30 minutes after us had their meals and checks long before us. I'm never in a hurry when I go out to eat, but an hour is an unacceptable amount of time to wait. We kept being told "it should be soon". Ehhh. I mean it's hard to screw up lobster so I'll give them a pass on that. We ordered some apps before the meal and it was frozen stuff we could have gotten anywhere and when served us was still a little cold. They had no more crab and service was slow. I get businesses are struggling now to find people to work but the combo of slow service, turning people away and not having enough sea food is a bit much. Group of us all coming back to Buffalo looking for a great Fish Fry. 2 Forks Up was suggested to us and it was great! We ordered(ahead) 8 beer battered cod fish fry dinners to go. When we went to pick them up they were hot and ready and still warm when we got to the place we were staying. The meal was delicious and as we remembered a true Buffalo fish fry - huge portion of fish, coleslaw and fries. The marble rye bread, although it looked good was kind of a waste, I don't think any of us ate it. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely come here again when back in Buffalo. read more

Hi, just got back from this establishment. Have heard good things so my wife and another couple went to give it a try. Not really a good first impression, outside not well kept the deck had weeds growing through the floor boards. The flower beds... same and the building not much to talk about. Upon entering my wife mentioned the odor of urine. So well, I'm thinking what did we get ourselves into with this reservation. The Staff was accommodating and attentive. Service was timely. Appetizers were good - calamari and steam clams. We ordered 2 fisherman platters a lobster roll and lobster lasagna. Both lobster dishes were really good. The fishermen platters, which came with soup, not so much. 1st my clam chowder was barely warm. When I returned it to get a hot bowl they brought back the same bowl after they microwaved it. I did expect a fresh bowl. The fisherman's platter was very disappointing. I could have got a better platter at Long John Silvers. For those of you that remember that restaurant. The shrimp were very small. And the crab cake along with the cod well I could have purchased at ALDI. Appeared they just put it all in the fryer at the same time. Saw other patrons ordering lobster and crab. Those dishes looked good. Live and learn I guess. So my recommendation, if you try this restaurant just order the Lobster and crab dishes. read more

I took my mom to celebrate her Birthday to 2 Forks Up for Sunday Brunch! Since it's the pandemic, I agree on no buffet right now so I was prepared for whatever they offered as a Brunch. Well...The Brunch was not impressive. It had the option to add real crab or lobster to your omelet. For 9.99 pp and a bottomless mimosas, still a good deal. I quickly changed over to the main Entrees which I'm forever a loyal customer anyway. My family is about seafood. Not pancakes or brunch unless its a complete seafood theme going on w exciting recipes! Our server was Courtney! She was warm and welcoming! The staff were friendly upon arrival and we were taken to our table quickly. We got there exactly at 12 p.m. They opened up on time. Social distancing was in effect. Sanitizers at proper places. About 8 customers at the time. By the time we left about 20 customers were comfortably enjoying meals. We all ordered the Lobster, King Crab and Steak combo! My steak was medium rare. It was so delicious and tender! The lobster was really good. The King crab was sweet and easy to get out with the utensils! The roasted asparagus was perfect. Home made mashed potatoes were really good! We ended up ordering 2 Moscato but we should have ordered a bottle instead. This place will be harder to get into in the future only because now they really have more space! The bar is HUGE!! I hope the owner reads this review. I think the issues at this restaurant could be very easily & cost effectively addressed without cutting into profit margins, if not improving them, as I'm sure we are not alone noticing these grave short comings. First impression of this place was " maybe we should go somewhere else!" I'd heard that the owner is known to drive to the east coast to get "fresh catch" and bring it back for their customers consumption. Sounded great to me, which was the reason for our visit. Upon entering, wall paper in the vestibule was peeling since its application in the 80's; which was sad enough but it was accompanied by overflowing boxes of who knows what, broken restaurant equipment & dirty high chairs just to name a few off putting details. The dessert case was full of delectable looking treats, but the top of the case was dirty and random rags & spray bottles of degreaser were perched on, or beside it. The glass divider had spattered dirt & idk what all over it. The hostess was barely friendly- first words were "do you have a reservation?" Our server was very efficient. Our meal was decent. The price was reasonable for what we consumed. Passing the swinging door to the kitchen on our way out was a vision I wish I could forget- the dirt embedded in the grease of the bottom swing hinge was a meal fit for a a family of four rats. I shudder to imagine what lay beyond that door. If I'd have seen that on the way in I would not have stayed to order. As a local small business owner myself, I take great pleasure in recognizing & recommending other great small businesses to my customers. I will not and cannot promote this eatery until I hear improvements have been made to cleanliness! (decor would be a bonus but certainly not a deal breaker) Again, I really hope to return someday soon if and when the owner addresses cleanliness above all else. We decided to try this restaurant for the 1st time. Extremely disappointed. The handicap parking spot is located behind the building, not close to the entrance. The outside of the building is cluttered with junk and looks like it has been ignored since the snow melted months ago. The entrance has the appearance of a storeroom with ladders and snow shovels greeting you upon entry. The carpets are very worn. We waited 10 minutes after being seated before anyone asked if we were waited on. The beer was not cold. Our soup came unheated and we asked it to be reheated. We are new to the area and received a mailing stating that this is the best seafood restaurant in western NY. So we decided to come here to celebrate my birthday. What a mistake. The restaurant is filthy. Condiments are on the window sill baking in the sun. The dessert counter had a box of garbage bags and other piles of stuff on top of it. The clam chowder had almost no clams, and was a brown, starchy mess. The fried fishermans platter was greasy and the fish had a freezer burn taste. The mashed potatoes were disgusting; and the crab legs were cold and fishy. So disappointing...We have many family and friends in the area who have not visited this place. We had reservations for 530 pm for my birthday because this restaurant was recommended. I had no idea it was an over 60 crowd. Then while all the tables around use were sat after and were already drinking and had their orders in before I asked the very nice busgirl/food runner if we had a waitress. About 10 more minutes later a young foul came over. Never apologize so I told my husband and my son to order everything right now because we will never see her again. We saw her once more after the food runner gave us her food and then one more time when I asked for the bill and dessert to go. My husband got the salmon and said he's had better salmon elsewhere. My friend and I went for Lobster Mania week and I had the two lobster special. Super great deal for whole lobsters and although they looked a little dirty on the exterior when arriving to the table, they were by far the freshest tasting lobster I have eaten in the Buffalo area. The sides were nothing special.. a roll, coleslaw and tasteless small piece of corn on the cob...but I'd go back for the lobster anytime. But I wish they would get a quick brush bath first so there's no claw dirt on my plate next time. Oh and I also had a mojito... wasn't a fan. Now aside from the awesome lobster there were a few cons to this experience that made me not want to go back (but I will...in winter)... First, the place is sooo small that we couldn't even fit through other tables to get to our own seat. And the girl seating us was nowhere to be found once we got to our table because she assumed we were right behind her. Except she was tiny so she was able to squeeze through the whole 2 inches in between peoples seats... whereas we had to maneuver ourselves halfway around the world and play leap frog to get to our table. The tables were also way too small for all that food and I was bumping into the person behind me and my friend was getting bumped into from people walking by to take bathroom breaks. Next, the temperature. Please for the love of god get an air conditioner. I don't know if it was broken or what but I didn't see one in the entire place. Small spaces + no air = recipe for disaster. I walked out of that place dripping wet. Throw on some shorts and a tank top in 40 degree weather and you're good to go. Lastly, service was slow. They were all nice, some more helpful than others. I'm not exactly sure if I had one or two waitresses. I get it they were packed, but it felt like an hour just to get our order taken. But I also could have overestimated the time it took for everything due to the humidity killing my brain cells from lack of oxygen. Aside from the minor drawbacks, which unfortunately have a lot to do with overall experience, I would return again for Lobster Mania and maybe to try out some more of the lobster dishes. read more

I've been looking forward to my seafood dinner with friends for months now! The seafood combos at 2Forks are a great value, especially if you like lobster. I'm a crab leg fan myself, so I got the combo with 3 king crab legs and a 6oz sirloin for $33 (comes with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and a roll) . My friends shared the 2 full lobster combo ($33 as well). The food came out within 20 minutes or so, and I was ready to dig in! The steak was cook as ordered (medium) and the mashed potatoes were so tasty that I asked for another serving and they brought it out promptly. My friends absolutely loved their lobster, said it really hit the spot! My crab was decent too, but I have decided that I prefer snow crab, it's easier to open and sweeter meat. Also the service was hit or miss, they never brought us an extra set of utensils even when asked and didn't come to check up on us too much (I feel like they were kind of put off with us only ordering 2 entrees for 3 people, but trust me it was more than enough with the way my friends tear apart a lobster, leaving no meat uneaten ) . The patio seating is recommended with social distancing and it's a nice patio with heat lamps. Make reservations, this place gets busy! (even on a Wednesday night!) When my wife and I went to Boston in the Spring I had one food item that I really wanted to try, a Lobster roll. I'd never had one before but I know they're a regional delicacy and I always make sure to have things like that when on vacation. For whatever reason it never worked out to where I was able to get one and I left Boston just a little disappointed, knowing this isn't something I'm not really able to get in Buffalo. Turns out I was wrong. My wife came across this place while browsing Yelp yesterday and decided we had to go for a late lunch. The express purpose was to get a lobster roll and some of these "sidewinder" fries that they serve. So we absolutely had to go to a small out of the way restaurant called "2 Forks Up" to get them. First thing you notice when you pull up is that the place is very small and there is no hanging sign displaying the name of the restaurant (although their were two forks above the entrance). It kind of looks like a small roadhouse bar from the outside. When you get in through the door, you find a semi-upscale seafood restaurant. There were probably a dozen tables in the whole building, some very close to the bar (which is where we sat). When I say close I mean at one point a woman cracked a lobster behind me and I got sprayed with the juices, something I wasn't super pleased about. The Bartender here was friendly and prompt, he quickly took our drink order and dropped menus. The beer selection here was not overwhelming, maybe half a dozen draft choices all light summer beers and a pair of IPAs. The drink of choice all around us seemed to be either wine or Stella. I opted for the 12 Gates IPA and when it came time to order food I went straight for the lobster roll. The lobster roll itself was an odd item in that it's basically a warm buttered handful of lobster shoved into a small piece of bread about the size of a hotdog roll. While it was delicious, I absolutely could not justify spending $20 dollars on what basically amounted to a lobster hot dog and fries. The sidewinder fries were piping hot when they came out but I felt they could have been cooked longer. I'm not a fan of large wedge-like fries like those typically and this was no exception (way too much potato, the center tasted uncooked). Overall it was a nice stop in good little out of the way seafood place. The food and service were good, even if I feel the prices were a bit high and the place felt cramped. read more

Problem was they were over cooked and most the legs had mushy crab. I ordered the linguine with clams and was very disappointed. I took my parents and husband there for my dad's birthday and we all really enjoyed it! We started with the winder fries, the portion was huge and the fries were delicious. I got the grilled chicken Caesar wrap which was quite good and it came with a side of winder fries. My husband got the scallop tacos which he really enjoyed and it also came with delicious winder fries. My mom got the broiled haddock which she LOVED. She finished all the fish and the delicious winder fries they came with. My dad got the fisherman's platter which was huge and my dad said it was delicious. They gave my dad a huge piece of chocolate cake to take home because none of us had room for dessert. I ordered shrimp cocktail- it was brought out almost immediately. it was delicious but I didn't have any place to set the shrimp tails. My husband ordered oysters and soup as appetizers and we both had the lobster/crab leg dinner. Dinners were served immediately after we ordered, but our dinners came out even before I finished my shrimp cocktail and my husband hadn't even received his soup or oysters. The sides - asparagus, Cole slaw and cold roll were not appealing at all. The nice thing is the food was brought out almost immediately. But we had no utensils to eat with. The server who brought food out brought us each a fork. No utensils for cracking and eating shellfish. She said "that's up to your server to bring it to you." We had to wait to get our utensils, never were given a knife to spread butter on the rolls, which we didn't eat. Food was lukewarm to say the least. Service was slow to get us refills of our drinks. Always satisfied Today for Mother's Day my son and future daughter-in-law took me to the new place for Mother's Day dinner. I was craving a lobster roll. I have eaten lobster rolls in New England as I spent numerous summer vacations in Westerly Rhode Island so I had a craving. When I received my dinner I was a little disappointed. First I have to say that the fries were delicious but as far as the lobster roll, it's not what I expected. It said in the menu that it was lobster with butter. I did not taste any butter at all, lobster was cooked too much & the bun was toasted too much. Paying $22.00 for a Lobster roll, I expect the lobster to at least be cooked to perfection. Especially if this is what the restaurant specializes in. Also, adding Celery, lemon, Mayo, salt & pepper to the lobster would certainly improve this sandwich. Such an upsetting experience all around. The portion for the price was mind-boggling. We paid $28 for the world's tiniest lobster roll and a few tablespoons of soup. See the picture? We hadn't even touched the food yet. The worst part was that were excited to see a lobster joint open nearby and really looked forward to coming to the restaurant often, unfortunately, that will not be the case. The small restaurant was packed and the staff(minus the hostess, who was very sweet) seemed to go out of the way to make us feel uncomfortable. We shimmied to the back of the bar/kitchen door area to pay and waited for bit while they straightened out our order, meanwhile I was constantly taking mini steps to the left and right and trying to smile politely and apologetically because I felt I was in everyone's way. The staff seemed overwhelmed. I felt bad for the fast-moving staff but their sour attitudes didn't make me feel inclined to return. I will say the fries, though luke warm, had a nice flavor and the little lobster there was, was good. They did indulge my request for another 3 tablespoons of soup, this makes me think that they're not completely out of touch, just busy. After reading some of the comments it's very disappointing and upsetting to say the least that no one from this establishment has come on to apologize for their awful service yesterday.. My family like many others waited in the parking lot for several hours to get pre ordered meals. They had no organization, no concern nor care that this was Mother's Day.
