This is the best vegan spot in Nola and it's open until one am a great quick stop before heading back to Detroit and a must stop by place whenever I'm in NOLA

On my recent visit to New Orleans I discovered this restaurant on the 1st day. OMG, the mushroom p'boy was absolutely delicious. My cousin had the burger . She's not vegan and enjoyed it. I tasted the okra and it was delicious. Ironically, the vegan food tour had a stop here. We tasted the fried eggplant and the sausage Poboy. Our last night there we had to return because my cousin wanted the fried okra. Unfortunately, they had ran out of okra. My cousin and I ordered mushroom Poboys and fries. It was a Sunday evening and busy. The service is slow. So bring your patience. The food is worth the wait.

Small spot not far from the French quarters. I loved the vibe, it was very culturally nostalgic. They had old school music videos playing which was cute. The service was great. Very friendly and the food was tasty. They ran out of fries right after my order so I got lucky! I met the owner and he was super helpful as well.

I'll get to the point and say that was the best Po'boy I've tried, vegan or otherwise. The mushrooms were breaded, fried, and so crisp. They have an option with plant sausage as well. I ordered a portion of gumbo to take away for later on, and that was a hit. The spices were incredible and I was happy with the portion sizes. It's a small restaurant, but fun inside, not to mention Air Conditioned! Right across the street from the French Market district, which is worth checking out. I really love that you can find vegan versions of popular new orleans dishes here, being able to enjoy the culture to the fullest.

    O. M. G. The absolute best po-boys we had anywhere in NO for the whole of our stay there. Every single one we tried was incredible. Like, man, do they know how to deep fry. Also the best fried okra we had. With fried food, it often gets less appealing the longer it sits - but these were amazing first bite to last. I also appreciated that they had a clean bathroom for customers. Overall, one of our absolute favorite places to eat.

The food is decent for fast food vegan option. The service was speedy and a few recommendations were made by the staff. Very little seating though. The place was aesthetically pleasing to the eye with posters of legendary hip hop artists and local art as well. If you're looking for a bite to eat quickly I would recommend this restaurant.

Nice vegan comfort food... I liked the people and service. The poboy was really good with the right spice.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Gigantic portions to the point where I did finish my Po-boy but the okra was too much for me and my wife to finish. For $5 it was enough to feed at least 4 people in my opinion. The sandwich was enormous, my wife loved her burger and I am so glad we made this our last big meal in New Orleans. Eat and support local!

I watched Bing's YouTube video on why he made his 2 Phat Vegans vision happen, and had to try this place while visiting NOLA. The location was off the French Market. I loved the hip hop and vegan decor but unfortunately, the service was lacking. It felt a little "sticky" and unclean inside. The music was very loud which I don't usually mind too much, but it was loud enough to make it hard to communicate. It smelled LOUD in there so if you have kids or that's not your thing, this might not be the spot for you. The two young men working were on the phone most of the time, not welcoming, and kind of rude to me and another customer. A couple other people came in that they were much friendlier to but they seemed to be regulars or friends. On to the food! The mushroom po boy was thick and flavorful. I ordered the fried okra which was the best I've ever had and ended up putting the okra on my French bread instead, the mushrooms were too rubbery for my liking. The orange house dipping sauce was incredible! The gumbo was decent but tasted like the rice was either not washed before cooking, or boiled in old water. All in all, due to the lack of vegan options around, this place did the job. And I'd go back for the fried okra any day. I hope that Mr. Mathis gets some people working in there that care and share his vision as much as him. He seems like a sweet soul trying to help the community heal through delicious vegan food. I say if you're on the fence about trying 2 Phat Vegans, just go and get something to support Bing's hard work.

Disorganized. Sandwich came before the fries. The fries never even came and I left. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen.

Between my partner and I, we didn't spend more than $30 in this place. This place is super low-key; no expectations of dressing fancy one bit. It's the kind of spot that you'd go into after a long night of partying, ready to end the night with a juicy burger with crispy fries, topped with ice cold beverages. If you can squeeze in a moment to order from their grill, I promise you won't be disappointed!

This past week we visited and we could both tell right away things were different. The inside of the restaurant was filthy and I mean filthy. You could see the floor under the bar and in the kitchen hadn't been cleaned in months. The fryers hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Everything just looked dirty and like no effort is put into cleaning and maintenance. We decided to eat anyway which was a mistake. We love their burgers that are cooked and steamed old school. We both ordered one. My wife ordered hers with bacon, which they charge over 3 bucks for. We both ordered our burger dressed with all the fixings. When my wife's burger came out it had no bacon and no fixings. I told the waiter and he said he would handled it. He never did as he started doing other orders. My burger had no flavor and it looked like the person that made it didn't care , which goes along with the restaurant cleanness. One thing that really turned us off was the was other guest were treated by staff. The "cook" was completely pissed off and had a horrible attitude. A group came in looking for a table and there wasn't room. He yelled at them that there wasn't room. They stood in the entrance area for a few moments and then he yelled at them that they needed to get out of the restaurant and wait outside. He told them this isn't a restroom so don't wait in line. The attitude and distain in his voice was overwhelming. A few minutes later a couple came in and found 2 seats at the bar. They decided to order food to go and was talking to the waiter. One of the 2 people ordering was standing behind the empty bar seat while they ordered. The cook yelled at this person that they needed to sit down. Both customers were stunned. The waiter told the cook they were making an order to go and the cook could be heard muttering under his breath. This little guy was nothing but attitude and seemed extremely pissed off the there. Maybe instead of being the restaurant traffic cop and total smart ass he should concentrate on getting orders straight since ours was screwed up and never fixed. Whatever charm this place had is gone along with the any effort to keep it up to clean standards.

The 8oz filet mignon steak special is, dollar for dollar, the best steak I have ever had in a restaurant. Perfectly tender, marbled, and cooked and seasoned to perfection, and topped with a decadent garlic butter. Turtle Bay -- 4…read more Listen... this is MY spot. One of my favorite places and honestly one of the only places I'll sit down and eat in the French Quarter. I've been coming here for about 6 or 7 years now, and they are easily in my top three. The vibe? Dive bar, laid back, no fuss... but the FOOD? Don't sleep on it. Their menu is solid and I still haven't made it through everything yet. I've had the wings, which we actually got this visit but ate them so fast we didn't even get a picture. That should tell you enough right there. I've had the pizza, and my husband usually goes for a burger. Never any complaints. They've got plenty on tap and the drinks hit too. I love a good Electric Lemonade, but this time I kept it simple with an Angry Orchard. Now let's talk about what keeps me coming back... The steak. We got our old faithful, one of their signature steaks, the 10oz petite ribeye. This is exactly what made me fall in love with Turtle Bay in the first place. Normally it's around $13.95, comes with a twice stuffed potato and a slice of garlic bread. A DEAL. This time it was a little higher, but still under $15, which honestly is still more than fair with how prices are these days. And when I say it be hitting... it be hitting. Only reason this visit didn't get a full 5 stars? My steak was cooked a little over my liking. I usually go for medium, and this one leaned more done than I prefer. Not horrible, just not my usual perfection. But everything else? Still solid. The staff is always nice, always welcoming. I've never had a bad experience with them, and that matters. And I already know I'm coming back because I keep hearing the crawfish is FIRE. Yeah... I need to see that for myself. This is my happy place. Open 24/7, consistent, affordable, and just a real gem in the French Quarter. The Bay is Babe. Period.

You find your own table inside or outside. Sides are separate order and price unless you order the special of the day amd it'll say what it comes with. 1st time ordered le pig. It was good, a little salty. But its not as tender as a beef burger. It was a nice change up. The pickles were good. We ordered some to go. ( take with you or they can ship to your house). The burger itself was filling to me. Rest of my party bbq pork and fish platter. Hush puppies were okay, they give so much. I could honestly do without it. Everyone was satisfied. 2nd visit ordered the porchetta . That was really good. Ordered a mac and cheese. It has breadcrumbs on top it comes in a small dish that i feel like is shareable. It wasn't bad actually ( ive had worse lol). One of the workers did really suggest it. I was willing to try it. It was edible, no cheese pull but also not just buttered noodles. Depending on my mood I might get it again. Porchetta and the leadership pig, I think the porchetta was better but both are great and filling.
