It was my first time at this location two days ago. The doctor said I have an eye condition where oil gets in your glands under your eye and that I need a procedure to fix it. He pushes really hard to schedule the procedure right away, and I begin worrying that maybe this is really serious! Then he tells me about these newer contact lenses that are best for this condition. He says they cost "a little more" than my current lenses. When I met with his contact lens person a few minutes later, she tells me they are $880 extra on top of what insurance pays. And then the office manager tells me as I begin scheduling the procedure that it is not covered by insurance and is $650. But don't worry, she says. Your medical insurance will cover the scans you need to get before the procedure. I felt like the doctor was trying to upsell everything. I ended up sticking to what I already had and declining the procedure, as I cannot afford it, and I know my medical insurance would cover it if it was absolutely necessary. Perhaps if he had presented the procedure differently, letting me know upfront that it's costly before he tells me how much I need it, I would have trusted him. Same with the newer lenses. Instead, I felt like he was a shark circling the waters, trying to get blood from a stone. Never going back. read more

I brought my kiddos here about a year and a half ago. My youngest ended up needing glasses. Being someone that doesn't wear glasses I (now) feel like i was completely taken advantage of. We have decent insurance and i some how ended up paying over $350 for my toddlers glasses. Went to Target today and had a completely different experience. Purchased her a new pair of glasses for $119 and that's including a 15 month warranty, and not even using our insurance. Future patients beware, they're only after your money! The staff at this location are so fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, and they know what they're doing. Dr. Stott has been more helpful than any doctor I've ever seen. He actually diagnosed my dry eyes and helped to make it better - he didn't just shove plugs in like every other doctor I've been to! He also (along with the staff) hooked me up with multi-focal contacts that work! My last doctor told me I was stuck with glasses, unless I wanted to wear contacts for distance, and reading glasses for near and mid-distance. (Was he even aware of multi-focal contacts??) I'm so happy. Like, SOOOO happy!!! What a fantastic place. I'd bear hug everyone there, if it wasn't weird to do so!! read more

I scheduled an appointment online after my husband had a positive experience. They texted me twice confirming my appointment. All seemed well until I got to the front door. I was instructed to call the number on the door, I did...no answer. I then waited and finally just opened the door. A staff member instructed me to close the door and wait. So, I waited in the 110 degree AZ summer heat. I finally waited in my car and called 10 minutes later. The receptionist told me that I in fact did not have an appointment and that they had issues with the online schedule system. When I asked to speak to a manager she said there was no one available. I am so frustrated and would not recommend going here, they clearly have issues. read more

Ok, so I really only review places if I love them, or hate them. I love this place. Staff is all super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I prefer private owned "mom and pop" places, they are more invested in the success of their business, it shows here. It is actually a pleasure to go here every year. It is clean, well decorated, well laid out... they have a fish tank to put kids in with video games in there so they are not running around screaming... or if they are, they are in the fish tank so you can't hear them! I really like that. They have an awesome selection of glasses, and their prices are reasonable, they have great sales to make things even more affordable. Go here, you'll be glad you did.... and when i have kids... i think I'm going to put one of those fish tanks in my house! read more

From start to finish we had an amazing experience! Dr. Carlsson and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. I came here because we weren't positive but we had suspicions that our autistic son might need glasses. I read a great review about Dr. Carlsson on yelp. My son struggles with any kind of visit to "Dr. like" offices and here was no exception. He has anxiety with all the machines and it doesn't matter how kid friendly the offices are or the staff for that matter. Dr.Carlsson offered to come to my home to see my son in a more comforting environment. It was amazing and we are very grateful to Dr. Carlsson. My son does need glasses and because he was willing to think outside the box and outside the office he was able to help us. We so appreciate his care. Thank you Dr. Carlsson. Absolutely the worst eye dr experience ever. I took my kids in to pick out glasses. First their selection is very limited but they were a preferred provider with our insurance and they carry miraflex glasses which in my opinion are the best option for very young kids. So I went with it. We ordered two pairs of glasses and were told they would be ready in 2 weeks. The next day I received a text message saying my daughters glasses were ready. I knew this wasn't possible so I called the office. Some how they had marked her glasses as received and had to restart her order. The next week my husband goes in for his eye exam and glasses. The person helping place his order was very rude. Two weeks passes I don't hear anything from them about my children's glasses. I wait a couple days thinking maybe there was a small delay. Still nothing. I call and am told that they are just waiting for them to be received and if they don't have them by the following Monday they will contact the lab. Monday comes and goes I still don't hear anything. I wait until Tuesday afternoon and call again. They still don't haven't my kids glasses they keep giving me excuses that it is slow because of the holiday which doesn't even make sense because the holiday hasn't even happened yet. Wednesday morning they call me back to tell me more lies about why the glasses have been delayed. They now claim the frames for my daughter needed to be ordered and sent to their office then they send them to the lab and then the lab will make the lenses. At this point it is 3 weeks since ordering the glasses and they still don't even have her frames. My daughter already has a pair of miraflex glasses and we received her complete pair with lenses in under two weeks from her previous provider. So I feel someone dropped the ball and didn't take care of ordering correctly. They did, however, text my husband to say his glasses were ready. My husband went to pick up "his glasses" after a 13 hour night shift only to get there and they are actually my son's glasses. My husband's phone number wasn't even connected to my son's order so there is no reason they should have contacted him. I have no faith that this office is even ordering the correct pair of glasses for my husband at this point or that we will even get all three pairs correctly made that we ordered. I still need to get an eye exam and glasses for my self but I can assure you that I will not be visiting this office for anything other than the glasses we have already paid for. I wish that the person I spoke to last week would have actually found out what the problem(s) were instead of making me wait even longer and having to call multiple times. I also wish they would have just admitted they made a mistake instead of excuses. Update: my husband again got a message saying his glasses were ready. He went to pick them up only to be told they didn't have his glasses. It took 3 weeks to get my son's glasses. It has been 3 weeks and counting for my husband's glasses and 4 weeks and counting for my daughters glasses which we still don't have. Update 2: We finally recieved my husband's glasses. I went to pick up my daughter's glasses and they were made incorrectly. So still waiting 5.5 weeks later. read more

I love Dr. Carlsson and his staff! I just got my third pair of glasses from him recently and each and every pair has been perfect. Being a progressive lens wearer they can be tricky to prescribe. Dr. Carlsson takes his time with patients and very thorough. He is also friendly and highly knowledgeable and professional. We tried several pairs of contact lenses last year before deciding that my eyes were too dry to wear them for long. He even took me outside to test distance! Who does that at a mall store? As for the staff...they are truly amazing. All are courteous and sweet! When I walk in the door it's as if they are expecting me and know me by name. I never feel like I am intruding on their day which is what I get from many other retail stores. Keep what you're doing ladies! Eyewear selection is GREAT. I have purchased cool designer frames and their prices are in all ranges. I never feel like the staff is trying to up sell me me either. No pressure sales is shopping happiness! My only suggestion is could they please be open on Saturdays, or at least one Saturday per month like my dentist??? This is not a deal breaker for me, however. Bottom line, go here if you want personalized, friendly service in your eye care. I know I will be going here for years to come! read more

I've been using the closest national chain that accepts my insurance for as long as I can remember. I figured it's just an eye exam and glasses, just about anybody with the right equipment can do that. Then I stumbled upon Dr. Carlsson's and figured might as well support a local business. I don't think I will ever go back to the "mall" eye centers. I actually received good service from everyone at the place, and service isn't something you necessarily expect from a doctors office. I didn't feel rushed like I was going through an assembly line and Dr Carlsson, actually took the time to explain what was happening with my eye health ( his words, not mine... eye health just sounds.... strange, but I can appreciate his professionalism and candor) rather then sending me off to the glasses display with prescription in hand. The folks at the counter were nice and friendly and I really appreciate their sense of style, considering my own is lacking, and they didn't let me pick out a frame that was too small for my head... which I fully intended to until they stopped me with a "Those are nice..... but why don't you try these on." I am really happy with my experience the only thing bad I would have to say is the place is pretty much a needle in a haystack, if you aren't referred directly or looking for them you probably won't find them. They are in a small commercial development nestled in a residential area with no signage... which is a shame, because they really are a hidden gem amongst eye care professionals. read more

We found Dr Carlsson's office when we found out that my middle daughter needed some vision/eye therapy to address an eye tracking issue. His office and staff are great, and even though it was a long way to drive, we definitely feel it is worth it. In addition to the vision/eye therapy, we have also had eye exams (for both me and my youngest daughter) as well as glasses and contacts for me. I am very pleased with the quality of service and friendliness of everyone in the office, and I highly recommend them. read more

Nothing extraordinary about the actual eye exam. As far as eye glasses ....a few months ago one of the screws fell out of my frames while they were still under warranty. I was near a Walmart so I stopped in there. They fixed it for free. A few weeks ago the other screw fell out. Went back to Walmart and again they fixed it for free. Yesterday the frame fell apart and I took it to Carlsson. I walk in and the lady says " ah oh" I said what? She says " we are going to lunch and so and so forgot to lock the door". She was so put out that I took 1 minute from her lunch hour. She looks my information up and said the warranty was for 12 months I had them for 14 months, lady says besides we dont even sell those frames anymore. No suggestion from her as to any other options. She was on her way to lunch and I was in her way. From now on I will be getting my exams and glasses at Walmart. There service is better and their glasses are 40 percent less expensive. read more

overall bad experience. My wife and kid went in a couple of weeks before me and were given a bill of $140 on top of what insurance already covered. This was not presented as optional coverage that she had the right to refuse. Unfortunately my wife trusted them and it cost us. Thats our fault, we should have known. So I kept my appointment for a couple of weeks later. When I arrived I was first disappointed in the selection of glasses. very limited. Next I was of course met with immediate up-selling. I declined everything. After my eye exam and while getting sized for my new glasses I declined every protection that comes with an extra charge. As I was leaving I asked if I could have the little rag and spray bottle for glasses that EVERY other eye doctor gives you with the purchase of new glasses. I was told NO. I actually thought it was a joke. I actually kind of laughed and said "No?" to which the young lady replied, "those are for people who buy warranty on their glasses." I said, so the $500-ish that my insurance just covered for exam, frames and prescription does not qualify for cleaner? she literally told me "No, if you would have purchased the warranty like your wife did for your daughter, we would give it to you" AMAZING! Such unbelievable shitty service it is almost comical. I guess their business must be doing well amid all the COVID mess and they don't need to worry as much about customer service like the rest of us. We love this office! Dr. Carlsson is wonderful with children and adults alike. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Meghan is incrediblly good with children and helping them through picking glasses to adjusting to contacts. They work with you to find the best price options for glasses and contacts. My children have been seeing Dr. Carlsson since they were 5 years old and 7 years old. The are currently 9 and 11 years old. I even switched over to Dr. Carlsson 3 years ago! My son and daughter both have anxiety issues and have never had a problem that the staff couldn't work through with them. They love it there and enjoy going! My son was 5 years old when we discovered that he was seriously Far-Sighted. Dr. Carlsson was fabulous with him and had him easily adjust to his new glasses! My daughter recently was able to get contacts last year at 10 years old. Meghan did a wonderful job teaching her how to put them in and take them out. Although, my daughter only chooses to where them sometimes, she can easily put them in and take them out. She especially loves using them when we go to Waterparks and the Beach where glasses are so cumbersome! I am in my 40's and am have problems now with both distance and near vision. I unfortunately am unable to adjust to Progressive Glasses (most people can but some of us can't) but the staff worked with me and even switched the glasses to single distance. This year, Dr. Carlson was able to fit me for Multi focus Contacts that have been absolutely fabulous! Great solutions for my needs! Highly recommend this office for the whole family! read more

After I left my first appointment with Dr. Carlsson several years ago, I sat in my car and cried because I was so overwhelmed. I stopped trying to explain my problems at my annual exams many years ago because every optometrist I saw blatantly ignored my concerns, even in light of my extensive history going back to early childhood. Every single one had an attitude of "Well yeah, I can see your eyes suck, what do you want me to do about it? Here are your contacts, see you next year." I cried when I left Dr. Carlsson's office the first time because he so clearly CARED. I don't think I can adequately convey how much that means after years of being ignored. At every appointment he has spent a considerable amount of time actually listening and trying to find what works for me, if not from his own knowledge and practice, then a referral to someone who might be able to help in a different way. He even walked me out into the parking lot once at an evening appointment to test a prescription that might help me see better at night (it helps!). Dr. Carlsson actually takes the time to explain what's going on, which is so rare in any type of doctor in my experience. I feel so blessed and grateful to have found Dr. Carlsson. Dr. Carlsson and his entire staff are amazing and I honestly can't say enough good things about them. They're all friendly, knowledgable, and genuinely care about you and your vision. You are in good hands here and will not be disappointed!! read more

The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The doctor is knowledgeable and has a thorough understanding of his field. He stays current with the new information and technology and discusses it in easy to understand language. The frame selection is somewhat limited, but they are very easy going should you choose to buy frames elsewhere and still have their lab do the lenses. The IZON lenses that they offer really do make a difference. My husband had his lenses done somewhere else, THREE different time and finally brought them to Dr. Carlsson. The IZON coating made all the difference because of the way his impairment affected his vision. I can't say enough about the staff, their knowledge, friendliness and efficiency. I don't give 5 stars easily, but this office is probably a TEN on the 1-5 scale. read more

My husband and I were looking for a eye Doctors closer to where we live. Our regular Doctor is in Ahwatukee, but sense we moved over to Gilbert wanted to find something closer. My husband called them because they were on our insurance. They quoted my husband 99.00 which is what we both paid at our regular place. His visit went well the Doctor was awesome, I also liked her as well. But when I went it was 178.00. They said it was because I was multi vision he was not, we both wear progressive lense our exams were the same. I feel hoodwinked and we definitely will not be returning. Make sure you get a quote before your visit, I asked another Doctor about their reasoning and they said they couldn't see reason why, our exams were the same. Very unhappy. If they want to make it right they can refund the difference of what Expecting to pay. read more

I hate to rain on the parade here, but my experience with Carlsson Family Eye Center left me with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. On the strength of the Yelp reviews, my partner and I made consecutive appointments for our annual exams. Neither of us has serious eye issues, but we find that our prescriptions now change on pretty much a yearly basis. Dr. Carlsson seems nice enough, but there were a couple of red flags right off the bat. The first had to do with my contact lenses. Carlsson charges a $115 "contact lens fitting fee." I've been wearing contacts for about five years now and have never been charged such a fee. Being new to the area, we thought maybe this was standard procedure in Arizona. Nope. Turns out that when the Carlsson clinic submitted the expense to our insurance (I'm a public employee, so we have EXCELLENT benefits), they rejected it as a "qualified expense." In other words, it's not a fee that insurance companies typically pay. Since we were already in for $115, we decided to try and make the best of the situation. Dr. Carlsson recommended bifocals for my wife--strange, since she really only needs glasses to read at night-- and we priced replacing lenses for her current frames. This is where we started to get mad. Carlsson Eye Center wanted to charge us in excess of $500--just to replace lenses! This seemed exorbitant to us, so we called our old optometrist in another state. By comparison, they charge $50 per lens for bifocals. Needless to say, we opted not to purchase from Carlsson. What's more, my wife has MS, but has never had an issue with her vision. That being said, we routinely disclose her illness so that it can go into her records. Dr. Carlsson asked to dilate her eyes to perform a more throrough exam. Not a problem, but he wanted to bill as a "medical" expense. This would have run us another $300 or so out of pocket, since Carlsson is not a participating provider on our medical. Of course, the real problem here is that we've NEVER paid a "medical" fee to have our eyes dilated. Again, I thought this was a routine service on most eye exams. That leaves the matter of my contacts. Despite the fact that I'm an experienced contact lens wearer, I had to see Dr. Carlsson four times. He gave me four different sets of contacts, none of which worked for me. The problems ranges from poor depth perception, to discomfort, to imjust plain couldn't see. On one set, i couldn't even identify dreeway signs. Prerty vad considering my current lenses get me pretty close to 20/20, but aren't great for closeup work. I finally asked my old doctor for my prescription from last year, as at least I can see reasonably well with my old contacts. At that point dr. Carlsson wrote me a script for my old contacts--although he told me that they were only 2 week wear lenses. Subsequent investigation revealed that they are indeed monthly wear lenses. Grrrrrr! The kicker, though was when I went to purchase my contacts. Having never paid more than about $60 for a six month supply, I was absolutely shocked when the office quoted me $160 for a six-month supply. A quick call to my old doctor proved it--they'd send me the same prescription for $88 , including shipping. The next day, I went into Costco and found it for $55. Now, I don't expect that a small operation would be able to match Costco prices, but more than triple the price is a little outrageous. To his credit, Dr. Carlsson did give me an extra set of lenses for my trouble. He does seem knowledgeable and caring. But just be prepared to pay quite a lot for his services. To me, it's not worth triple the price for the same services and products. read more

Issue #1: Gougers!!! This office doesn't know the meaning of "hey, I lost my job, don't have a lot of money, please just quote me the least expensive options you have." They started every option with the most expensive first, then I had to keep whittling them down until they finally, to my knowledge, showed me their actual lowest priced options. I mean why the hell would I want daily contacts when I could get monthly's a lot cheaper?!?! Plus I'm trying to work in a pair of glasses as well; I don't have to tell you how long it took me to get them to show me their value frames. I took my son there for glasses, and had to go through the same process of getting them to show me the value frames. They don't care if you're broke, they want to get every dime out of you they can. Issue #2: Fast forward a year or so to this past week. Due to not having insurance any longer and a job that pays next to nothing, I have been wearing the same pair of dailies for over two months. I know my Rx is still good so I think to call them and ask them how much it would be to get some monthly's since I know dailies would be way out of my price range. So the girl answers, I tell her my dailies are two months old, I don't have insurance and then I ask her how much it would be for monthly's. She puts me on hold and comes back to the phone and quotes me the cost of dailies. Ummm, what!?!? not what I asked for. I play her game and ask "only $65 a box?" She says yes, so I ask if they are in stock. She says they would have to order them. So I'm thinking, wow, price must have come down. But at the last second she tells me, "but you need two boxes since you have your eyes have two different prescriptions." Great, back to square one. I ask her once again about the monthlys. She tells me I would need a whole new eye exam because I was "fitted" for dailies. I ask "so there's a size difference between monthly's and dailies?" She says "yes, just a little bit." LIAR! When I initially went in to get new contacts, I was never asked if I wanted monthly's or daily's before the eye exam. That was chosen AFTER the eye exam; so tell me, how can they differ in size? This is a serious ethical issue. I understand they differ in thickness but not overall size. And if the size was different, I could see how they could tell me I would need a refitting, just to make sure they fit well. BUT A WHOLE NEW EYE EXAM?? Did she just not hear me say I don't have insurance and the dailies were too expensive??? I revert your attention back to issue #1! Issue #3: They REFUSE to give you a copy of your Rx so that you can shop elsewhere. The girl even told me once on a visit, that I wouldn't be able to find them cheaper anyway. Well if you've read any of the reviews here, you'll know they are more expensive than most. So here I am, stuck in two month old dailies, prescribed to me by a doctor who cares nothing about my actual eye health. Also what I just discovered was that my roommates use this doctor as well for them and their children... I guess I should say "used" because not anymore! I'll also share this with FB to make sure I warn anyone else in my area to avoid them at all cost! read more

LOVE the doctor--HATE the way the office runs! (Down below, after I voice my complaints, I talk about how much I love this doctor. Please be sure to read to that part. My complaints about his staff, although highly annoying, are something that the doctor could easily fix with a re-train session. I suspect the doctor does not yet realize how inadequate his staff's service can be. If you are in the market for a good doctor, you might want to try him anyway.... Maybe he will have seen this post and fixed the situation by then? ) Here are a few examples: 1. Stopped being a patient over a year and a half ago--moved out of state. I even withdrew as a patient before I left. But, despite me telling them I am moving (and deactivating my patient file) and no matter how many times I hit unsubscribe at the bottom of the emails, their automated system won't stop emailing me. I have even called their office twice....no matter what I do, they keep putting me back on the list. A couple of times I went off their list for a month or so...then suddenly there it is again-- two to four emails per week. . The latest excuse I got was that they just started using a new email system but really? How many new systems could they have possibly gotten? This has been going on for a year and a half now. This isn't limited to email. I have moved twice since I have been a member of their practice, but even though I don't update my mailing address they find me anyway. They keep sending me "time for your eye exam" post cards in the mail. How they keep finding me, I'll never know. (Could they be a front for the CIA...naw our government is clearly not this efficient at tracking people down!) 2. First time I ordered contacts through their staff, the only option was to have them sent to the office. I got a call in the middle of the afternoon one day saying my contacts had arrived to their office but the box that was ripped open--and did they want me to accept the delivery anyway? I asked if any of the contacts were damaged or missing from the order--they said they had no way of knowing. I asked if they could check--they said no, they couldn't open the box unless I accepted the order. I asked what happened if I accepted the order, whether they would replace anything that was missing or damaged? They said no they wouldn't. Clearly that was pure ignorance talking. They had charged me money, never delivered the product they charged me for--they obviously could not charge me if the order was incorrect.. Undoubtedly the doctor would have fixed the problem if I had to take it to him directly.... but that was the sort of thing that happened every time I went there. 3 By the following year, they offered to have the contacts delivered directly to your house at no additional charge. YAY! Well....it would have been yay if they had done it....but instead I got a call a couple weeks later saying my order had arrived into the office and I needed to come pick it up (I had to make a 40 minute drive due to their mistake.) On that same order, I was supposed to get a rebate. First they gave me an expired rebate form. I called back to get a new copy--they forgot to mail it. 4 Later, I was traveling overseas and needed a copy of my prescription--of course they forgot to email it to me. When I called back, they emailed me one that had expired well over a year before. Finally, just before I left, and after several calls--I got the prescription I needed. 5 The other major problem is the upselling. Go in for an exam... and they offer every high-tech exam option, contacts, glasses, an extra pair of glasses, sunglasses, accessories....and everything else you can think of. I have had less pressure buying a new car. (Seriously. That sounds like I am exaggerating, but sadly I am not.) Now that I have told you the bad....let me stress that I LOVE this eye doctor. He really seems to care about eye health. He goes out of his way to have the most high-tech diagnostic equipment available. He is happy to take as long as you need to get a thorough exam, answer any questions you have, etc. He is personable, charming, professional, and I always knew my eyesight was in GREAT hands! Really, really, really LOVED this guy!!!! (His office was also clean, in a great location, and it was always easy to get an appointment.) I just wish that I had received the same level of professionalism from his staff as I did from him. read more

My family has been with this office for 4 years. I use to love this office for everyone in my family, but in the recent year they have gone way down hill. The office staff has been over turned at least twice, so the last time I was in (2 weeks ago) they had no idea what was going on. Dealing with one of the office personal on the phone was horrible, she was very unprofessional and just kept saying, "Know what I mean?" I bought the insurance on the glasses of everyone in my house who needed glasses ( 3 people) and come to find out when I went to use the insurance the terms had been changed mid-cycle without notification. As for the doctor he's nice enough and I use to trust what he was telling me. Now, not so much. My son went in, got his eyes checked he RX glasses for him. We bought what he RX, and my son did nothing but complain about his eyes hurting and they didn't help, but only hurt. So I took is RX to a different doctor and got a 2nd opinion. My son's eyes were fine, so not only did he not need glasses, but he could of hurt his eyes by wearing the glasses that were rx to him. Needless to say my family just got their yearly eye exams somewhere else. read more

My son and I went to this office today for our exams, my son is 10 and has never had an eye exam before. The staff and doctor was great and so nice to him and myself for that matter. My son had an eye issue i had no idea about and i am so greatful we did his exam today! We both needed glasses and i knew that eye insurance is just awful but my son's pair was not too expensive. I loved loved the lady that helped us pick out glasses, she explained everything to us and never did i feel pressured to buy the higher cost lens. They seem to understand that money is an issue for most families these days. The office my cost more then others, but seeing the doctor for his knowledge is worth every penny. I am actually a returning patient after a few years away and i would never go anywhere else, he knows his stuff and has been the only doctor to get my husband's prescription right!! Both of my children are now seeing Dr Carlsson and they really do love him. He has made some smart decisions changing the staff. Took my 6 year old son here for his first eye exam. Dr. Carlsson was amazing. He was patient, funny and did a very thorough exam. My son felt very comfortable and is excited to wear his new glasses. I discovered Dr. Carlsson by a google search as the optometrist I went to moved, and the one I tried once after that I wasn't happy with. Being able to read the reviews from others was helpful in my selection so I want to 'pay it forward'. I am very satisfied with Dr. Carlsson and his staff. It was a great experience. He is knowledgeable and everyone explained things very well. Additionally, he noted I had allergies and offered a free sample of some eye drops. They were so much better than over the counter treatment for itchy eyes. I've had my glasses for a year now and have been very pleased with the prescription and quality of the glasses. My daughter started complaining about headaches during school, so I started looking for an optometrist that works with kids. With a recommendation from a co-worker, I made an appointment with Carlsson Family Eye Center. We arrived and the staff immediately had us filling out the new patient information. As soon as we were done with the paperwork, her appointment started. No wait. They completed the preliminary tests and moved her to the exam room. Dr Carlsson saw her immediately. He performed the exam, explained everything to me as he progressed, and determined that she needed glasses (surprise). The longest part of the visit was having a 10 year old pick out frames. Fortunately, our Optician, Robyn, was very patient with my daughter. I sort-of checked out at this point until they found frames that my girl liked and worked with her prescription. Once frames were chosen, she was measured for size, and we ordered new eyewear and checked out. I know it sounds like it took a long time, but the entire visit took less than one hour. I definitely appreciate the staff's knowledge and professionalism. We will be using Carlsson Family Eye Center again in the future! read more

I have had challenges with my vision for years due to RK performed nearly 30 years ago. My vision has been variable and I have not been able to get clarity in my vision since the RK so many years ago. My ophthalmologist suggested that I visit Dr. Carlsson since he felt he was the best in the valley for contacts generally, and absolutely the best for special cases like mine. I made an appointment with Dr. Carlsson, his staff was very professional and courteous. When I went to the appointment, Dr. Carlsson was right on time and they had scheduled the time required to for a VERY complete evaluation, including a computer scanning of the eye surface to make sure my circumstances were properly diagnosed, and that Dr. Carlsson would be able to find a contact solution unique to my circumstances. He even scheduled time right before his lunch to make sure he was not rushed to spend the time required to properly study, find the right eye solution and then work with me through multiple fitting sessions and adjustments to make sure the contact and my vision was perfect, and that the lens sit perfectly on my eye for total comfort. There were many, many adjustments he needed to make, and he and his wonderful staff spent the time with me to make sure all was perfect. My vision is unbelievably clear and exacting (I have never experienced this before) and now I cannot stand to wear even glasses for clarity and comfort--these new Zen lenses, as fitted by Dr. Carlsson are unlike anything I have experienced. No matter you vision needs, I cannot recommend Dr. Carlsson highly enough. I have never been to an eye-care professional like him, and will no doubt be going back with any need I have in the future. read more

I needed a optometrist for my 3 year old for his first eye exam. I was going to take him to a place that was only for pediatric patients, but they were booked out for weeks. I wanted to get him in as soon as I could. I googled around and found Carlssons. Turned out my son needed some pretty thick glasses. The doctor is sooo good with children, as he has small ones of his own. His staff is so sweet. We have gone in every week for what seems like months because he bends them or breaks them and they are always so nice and take care of us right away. The prices are a bit high, but for the type of glasses we bought, and the all around warranty, it's paid off. I am very pleased. read more

They have been amazing! We went to two different specialists before we found Dr. Carlsson and we will never see anyone else. They have taken great care of my daughter and have always been so friendly and understanding. My daughter was only a year when she needed glasses and they have taken such great care of her and were so understanding when her little lens popped out of the frames. They gave us loaner frames to use while they fixed hers for free. From the front desk staff to the Dr they are all very professional and know how to make the patients and parents feel heard and have all their concerns met. Dr. Carlsson has changed my life forever. I'm 12 years old and began having headaches at 8 years old but other doctors said my eyes were fine. My Mom finally found Dr Carlsson and he prescribed my 1st pair of glasses and The headaches went away! After a year I asked my mom if I could get contacts. Dr. C supported me and quickly fitted me into daily lenses that were very comfortable. This year I returned for my annual check up and found my vision was getting worse quickly. Dr C suggested OrthoK contacts lenses, a newer lens that you wear while you sleep and they correct your vision for about 24 hours. Not only do these lens give you freedom of not wearing them during the day but they also slow your vision from getting worse. Dr. C truly helped me, not only for my vision today, but he is the only Eye dr that has care about my eyes in the future. He is so knowledgeable, helpful and concerned about me that I will always remember the Dr who stopped my vision from progressing. Dr C you're the best and thank for caring about me and my eyes! I also love everyone who works in his office. They were patient with teaching me how to put in my lenses and also remove and clean them. I would suggest this eye dr to everyone and know you are in good hands. Everyone should good to Dr. Carlsson! Dr. Carlsson and everyone in his office - thank you for everything! read more
