Recently, my wife and I called Matt at Main St. Plumbing via a referral from one of our good friends. We were trying to decide whether to replace our 25 year old Jacuzzi shower pan that had cracked (due some underbelly softening), or to get it repaired and resurfaced via a fiberglass redo, and just have a new drain and seals put in. After chatting with Matt (via a phone consult) and sending him some pictures, it became quite evident that the original drain pipe seals, crown nut (missing), and surrounding flange seal had failed. That has most likely caused the under-pan softening (water damage) and eventual cracking. While that isn't great news, knowing this information (based upon Matt's expertise), has prevented us from spending a couple thousand dollars trying to repair and resurface the fiberglass pan only to have the cracking problem reappear (i.e. a waste of money). Matt was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and had seen this problem before... As such, he was able to guide us in the right direction. I wish I could award negative stars. Don't expect Scotty to support you on any warranty issues. I…read morehad two bad experiences with him regarding warranties. One concerned the failure of the condensate pump on my Daikin mini split, which Scotty installed in 2020. It was well within the 12-year Daikin warranty period, but Scotty refused to present a warranty claim to Daikin, saying that the pump was not covered by the Daikin warranty because the pump was manufactured by Refco, not Daikin. But this is irrelevant under the Daikin warranty since the part was supplied or designated by Daikin and was not specifically excluded in the warranty. Scotty refused to discuss the actual terms of the warranty and was very rude about it. I would have had no problem with paying Scotty to replace the pump if he been willing to present the warranty claim, which has to be presented to the Daikin distributor by a Daikin dealer. Scotty refused to do that because he wrongly claimed the pump was not covered under the Daikin warranty. If he had been willing to read the Daikin warranty, he would have known that the Daikin warranty applied even though the pump in the Daikin mini split was manufactured by Refco (just like General Motors warranties all kinds of parts in its cars even though the parts may be made by dozens of companies). I hired a different Daikin dealer - Perfect Temp out of Diamond Springs. Perfect Temp replaced the part and presented the warranty claim to Daikin, which eventually honored the claim; Daikin reimbursed me not just for a new pump but also for Perfect Temp's labor charge to replace the old one. The other warranty problem I had with Scotty was the failure of the insulation that covered the coolant lines on the roof. It degraded after less than a year. Scotty blew off several requests to make a warranty claim to the manufacturer, saying that they wouldn't cover it. He made a claim only after I gave up on him and asked for the manufacturer's contact info so I could make the claim myself. Once he made the claim, the manufacturer honored it, providing new insulation to replace the old material. Scotty quoted me an outrageous price ($1,850!) for the labor to wrap the lines with the new insulation, so I hired someone else to install the insulation at less than 1/3 the cost that Scotty quoted me.

I told Ryan that I had a new faucet on order, and it was being shipped up from the warehouse in Stockton. It should be here either today or Wednesday, July 1st. He set up an appointment for Thursday between 3 to 5 pm, and asked that I call back and let them know when I receive the faucet. Faucet was received later that evening from UPS, and I called and left a message saying it was delivered and it would be available for Thursday. I then called again on Wednesday morning and left another message saying I had received the faucet yesterday, and was looking forward for them to be out tomorrow. Thursday came and went, no plumber arrived, so I called them and left a message asking what was up, and for them to call me back. They called me back this morning (Friday, July 3rd) and said there was a mix up, and that they meant Thursday, July 9th. It is possible that this was the case, however, who has a kitchen faucet leaking under the sink and can afford to wait 10 days to get it fixed. Had they told me up front that it was that far out, I would have said "thanks, but no thanks". Additionally, I was pretty clear when I called and left messages that the new faucet was on hand, and I was looking forward for them to be out tomorrow, that at least I was under the impression that it was for this Thursday. It is possible that they meant the 9th but didn't communicate it, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave 2 stars. And yes, I've experienced better. If you use them, I hope you have better luck than I.
