It's hard to expect good food at ski resort villages, especially at a good price. Twenty-two meets one of those expectations. The food was pretty good and "gourmet" compared to what you would usually find at places like this. However, for the amount of food you get, the portions are not very generous. After a day of boarding, I want to chow down, as I have not really eaten much all day (why waste the money I paid for a lift ticket eating away, when I can store snacks in my pocket and board all day?!?!), but instead of the usual pizza or pub food, this place looked like a nice change. I was right about the change, as the menu was fancier than I was accustomed to seeing, but for the prices of an entree, which average around $20, I was expecting a little bit more food. We tried the shrimp tostadas for an appetizer, which were $9 for 3 small tortillas with barely any shrimp and a lot of cole slaw. Rip off. Skip this. I had the bison meatloaf as my entree, which was good, but the piece of meatloaf was about the size of 2 brownies and barely made a dent in my stomach. It was servied with diced root veggies and mashed potatoes. The dish was good, but not enough! My friend had the jalapeno bacon mac and cheese, which was probably one of their better items since every busboy that came by with water or to pick up our plates asked him about it and said it was their fave. haha. It was delicious, I admit. Not too cheesy, with a hint of spiciness and decent size bits of bacon. It was a bit rich so I could see how it was a side item, but somehow my buddy finished the entire plate. Possibly because skiing/boarding all day causes massive hunger? haha. I just had a beers and sweet potato fries - which you must get. Three dipping sauces, need I say more? They have outdoor seating like most places. You can't sit here just to lounge but I did gawk at other people's yummy food. I saw some of the portions, they aren't hearty but they aren't as anemic as other people's looked. In Squaw Village, very convenient if you are skiing at Squaw. Dinner for party of 6 at 4pm on a friday took 45 minutes to get seated. There are two sections - the main area has a noisy, bar like atmosphere which is great for hanging out with friends. The second area is just tables, with lots of booths, quiet & great for groups with kids. They were out of certain things on themenu but the service was great given how swamped the staff were. Our food orders did not take kong, beverages were refilled promptly and overall service was very friendly. Chopped salads were ho-hum but presentation was good. Kids meals came with a lot of thick fries, the slider was well done to a brickette. Onion soup, Creme Bruless and the whiskey cocktails were the best items on our table. read more

We were here this past SAT on what had to be the nicest day of the year. We were looking for a bite, and the menu looked to fit the bill just fine. We had a late lunch and were all starving, so we loaded up (on too many) apps. We had the poke stack ( I was stuffing my face with other stuff, so I didn't try it) but the wife and kids liked it. The crab nachos were lite and tasty, and the bacon doughnut holes were simply amazing (not to mention you could get a pint of PBR and an order of them on special for $7 I think). I had the Thai shrimp soup bowl that was great - the soup very flavorful and the shrimp were done to perfection. My brother had the jalapeno mac, which he said was good. My wife had the risotto, which I thought was just OK (mine is better!). One kid had the chicken strips (standard, but pretty good) and the other had the slider (also standard but good). The only drawback was it was on the pricey side, or maybe it all just added up - I think we dropped a buck 20 for lunch for 3 adults, 2 kids, but I guess I should expect that for Squaw. Lame...hostest was unfriendly, looking depressed and bitter. Didn't even to bother looking at people coming in. We stood there waiting for her to acknowledge us and when she finally did, she said that we can't have outside drinks inside the restaurant. We were drinking Starbucks coffee, it's not like it's competition. The restaurant was not full at all. Pros: Our server was great. She was friendly and efficient. Cons: Weakest poured cocktails I've seen in awhile and the food is way overpriced. I don't mind spending more for a quality meal, but there has to be VALUE and QUALITY. My wife and I each got a drink before dinner, then I ordered a burger and she got a salad with salmon. The food was marginal, burger was just ok as was the salad. Then we received our check, which was $54 including an extra $5 for taxes and resort fees. When I spend $61 on dinner (including tip), I usually get much more VALUE and QUALITY for my money. This restaurant was a major disappointment on our first night of vacation, they know they have a captive audience here at the village and are taking advantage of that. We will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

Snowboarding season and of course you have to grab some grub some where in squaw town. decided to give this place a try. The waitress there was so nice and promptly helped us to order. We ordered jalapeño bacon mac&cheese as pictured below along with aside of wings. Quite honestly the wings were not worth it. They really trick you for "free range chicken wings" for 6 tiny tiny wings. Nothing special but it cost $12. The mac was worth it and everything else was too. But c'mon? Wings? 22 is my favorite place to eat when I go to Squaw! It's amazing to have a place that works as a quick lunch stop while skiing that also has gourmet food and an awesome bar. The staff is very attentive and the food comes quickly. I love the Thai Noodle Bowl and the Tuna Tower and we always get the sweet potato fries for the table, the dipping sauce is incredible! It's also a really fun atmosphere at the end of the ski day to grab drinks and stay for dinner. The outside patio is heated so you can hang outside if you want as well and enjoy the vibe of the village! read more

Twenty two is a great place to grab a beer or a bit in the village at Squaw. The ambiance is a darker, cheekier mountain style and there is traditional dining / seating as well as a bar area if you are looking for something more casual. The service is always up to par as well. Items on the menu that we recommend are the pork tacos, the sweet potato fries (with 3 types of aoli) and the Burger. There is also tasty beer, though the selection is slim. If anything is lacking from this joint it is that the prices are slightly steep for the average ski bum, and that it is often lacking the fun apres ski feel. On some of the menu items, the portions could also be a bit bigger. read more

OMG, this place was really good and I wasn't expecting it to be! The menu was decent, but my boyfriend and I split the thai lettuce rolls (amazing!) and the bacon cheeseburger -- the meat on the burger was juicy and delicious and the bun was toasted perfection. Now, I only do bacon cheeseburgers every now and then, but this one was oh so worth it. We also had the fries which were incredible, no exaggeration probably the best I've ever had. That topped with the different mayos, including a chipotle ketchup, aglio olio and curry mayo were a creative touch to an otherwise straightforward dish. Kobe beef burger and sweet potato fries......UH-mazing!!! I also loved the setup of this place. My friend and I came to check out 22 after a friend recommended it and it was fabulous!! We sat at the bar for lunch and both ordered burgers. Everything looked so good we had a tough time deciding so we threw in the hummus and the dough nut holes....mmmm yummy. The staff was friendly and welcoming but the bartender was great! I believe his name was Brent....he makes an amazing cocktail! I'm not a fan of 22. The service is slow and clipped, and they're often out of what you want. Ask for something not on the menu and you've asked for the Spanish Inquisition. Sadly, there are not a lot of options in the village, and the outdoor seating deserves three stars, and is an option when Rocker is packed. read more

Portions were abundant, prices ....well it is the Olympic Village and nothing is cheap here. Had a great server who has worked at SV for the past 20 years. Lots of good stories and info on other great restaurants in the Village. Bartenders were a bit overworked. It was early season and the restaurant was likely not staffed up to meet the demand due to the early snowffall. We were all tired from skiing so the slow service was not a big deal. We wondered in thinking we we were going to get to eat some decent food ad have a good experience. We waited at the front to be seated for 10 minutes before I asked one of the employees walking by if it was self seating or not and was told something about busboys....something something. Every employee that walked by tried very hard to avoid eye contact. Waited another 5 minutes and were about to walk out when "Joanna" seated us. I have to say, she almost made us get up and leave as her attitude was atrocious. She took our drink orders, I had a question about one of the beers and she sneered at me, gave me a look like I was an idiot, then told me she was out of that beer. So I ordered a cocktail instead. We had waters for everyone, but she didn't give us straws, after trying to flag her down, I walked up to the bar and got them myself. After being told I was looking at the wrong menu and they were out of everything, I ordered the burger, and it was rare, I guess she never did ask how I wanted it. It came with chips and a little plastic catsup container that had melted as I guess these are under a heat lamp. Burger was edible, but hardly worth $15.50! This place is a trap for sure, as there is no way in hell it could stay in business if it were anywhere else. Overpriced. Bad service. Food is ....meh. Cocktail tasted awful. And to top it off, they were blaring the Mexican channel. We had little kids with us, and if you've ever seen this channel you know it's all cleavage and sexuality. read more
