The custom made domino/coffee table is reminiscent of times in Cuba ; great coffee with a great game. Old school coffee makers and locally crafted items for sale filled the space creating a fun way to show off history and support locals. The Cuban Cheese Toast was gooey and the Cuban Nutella Toast was indulgent but my favorite had to be the Cuban Honey Butter Toast! Dipping this simple yet delicious treat in my Drip Coffee made for the perfect combination. The Cuban Sandwich is was just as great but I'm definitely opting for the Woke Cuban (Cuban sandwich with an egg and drizzle of honey) next time! Wow, I cannot believe I hadn't found this cute little gem of a coffee place before yesterday!! I was biking around the Palmetto Beach area and stumbled upon the coffee shop, and I just had to go in and try it! From the outside, it looks like a super cute free-standing coffee house with plenty of parking. There is covered outdoor patio seating outside, and on the inside there are various seating arrangements (tables, high tops, bar seating, a couch and even cool dominoes tables). It is SO cute inside. It's really artsy and showcases a lot of local artists and craftsmen. Really cool concept. Next - the coffee. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk (half sweetened) and it was PERFECT. This is my go-to order at every coffee shop, but this place made it particularly delicious. It was also a huge latte (like I didn't order a large because they don't have sizes - it was just that big). Prices were on par with everywhere else in Tampa. Overall, a TOTAL GEM of a find. This place is really cute! Prices are fair and they make good suggestions to modify drinks to your liking . If you want sweet, just tell them this and they'll work their magic to add condensed milk and a touch of cinnamon. Once the drink is in hand you can grab a seat on a couch, at a table or even outside on a nice day. A group of 8 met there and felt right at home. They also have breakfast sandwiches that are excellent, along with muffins and several other snack options. Don't trust Google Maps if it tells you to enter the parking lot from anything but 22nd St. Doing so adds about three minutes as you drive around the neighborhood trying to figure out how to get back on 22nd St. Make sure you check their hours. They are currently closed Sundays. And only open until 2pm every other day They have games like chess and domino's there for you to play. Service was excellent. We found this place while up in Tampa in search of something unique. It definitely hit the mark. We didn't stay to enjoy our drinks but took them to go. The inside had a cool chill vibe though. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and it was probably the best one I've had. It was more flavorful, full of yummy rich fall spices, than others I've had. I asked for it with oat milk and she said it wouldn't be an up charge because they typically make it with oat milk. Again, very unique! Finally gave in to try this place again because my son had been begging me for the cheese toast. So we did 8:20 am wasn't to busy we walked in and the aroma of coffee being brewed just is amazing We ordered a cheese toast and a small cafe con leche to go, we were talking about the dalonga games and how crazy squid games was. But I think it is really cool that they sell the cookies like the actual game so if you know anyone who wants to challenge themselves this is the place to get them. OMG how did I forget to write a review! This is my favorite coffee shop in Tampa! I've checked in and put up numerous photos on yelp. Heck, I've even written a blog post in regard to how much this new coffee shop is actually a Tampa institution. So, the long time Ybor City coffee roaster Brisk Coffee opened 22nd Street Coffee as a concept shop for training and to showcase their wonderful coffee history to the general public. Brisk Coffee happens to be the largest coffee roaster in the Southeast United States. More than likely you've had 22nd Street Coffee even if you've never step foot in 22nd Street if you are a coffee drinker. What makes 22nd Street Coffee wonderful is you can make an appointment to get a free Tampa coffee and cigar history tour! You can do a self-tour just by reading the plaques on the walls in the dining area. The dining area is a great area to gather and lounge in as there is plenty of seating, card tables, and domino tables...true Tampa Cuban style! Aside from the Tampa history, my real reason for calling this my fave coffee shop is that the coffee is phenomenal. I come in once a month to buy 2 affordable bags of Perez Coffee, which is the coffee they brew in the cafe. It's so bold and smooth. If you are a Bustelo drinker you may never go back to it after you have some of this goodness. I'm not an iced coffee drinker, but I had to have the Cono coffee based on the recommendation of the owner, Denise. I loved it. It's a serious eye-opener. I still pick up a cafe con leche and one of their Cuban toasts (the honey butter and cinnamon sugar toast is irresistible). If you love coffee you need to get your butt in 22nd Street. They are only open daily until about 2pm, so get in before work, get in for lunch as they do serve Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, and other lunch items. Or take your time on a Saturday, get your coffee and get a Tampa Ybor City history lesson! read more

Awesome hidden gem of a coffee shop! A little hard to get to but I think that was a Maps problem lol Coffee was excellent! The small pastelitos (pastries) were really good! The young lady behind the counter made some great recs and greeted us with a smile and patience as we were first timers! I'd really like to come back and spend some time just hanging out in the shop because the place has an old school Latin vibe with some domino/cigar tables (not that you can smoke at but you get the idea!) My last visit here was in February pre COVID but I've been dreaming about it ever since. Literally, I had a dream I went there Friday night/Saturday morning so on Saturday morning I finally went back! I been following this coffee shop on instagram salivating each time I see a post. This time I went specifically for their frozen cafe con leche with added caramel. According to their instagram this is a special for the month of July but I really really hope they decide to keep it around longer because it is SO GOOD! The frozen cafe con leche comes with coffee flavored whipped cream and coffee grinds sprinkled on top. I never had anything like it and I'm so ready to go back and get some more. In addition to the frozen cafe con leche I also got a breakfast croissant sandwich which was HUGE it came with yummy eggs, cheese and ham as well as cinnamon cuban toast which is something I've been craving since the last time I visited in February. The shop is pretty close to Ikea with its own little parking lot for easy and close parking. They followed all the COVID related precautions. Plexiglass at the register. We ordered our food to go but we hung out a little bit in their dining area while we waited for it to be ready but the seating was spread out and there were signs reminding everyone to keep a distance. There's many coffee shops closer to my house and going to this place is a pretty far drive BUT it is such a treat and I look forward to going back again and again. Because give me a Cono Coffee every day. --- --- --- I recently discovered 22nd Street Coffee and was excited to check them out after putting myself in a ridiculous food coma via a nearby brunch. I could not have enjoyed my coffee and pastry anymore. For coffee, I was tempted to order to Cono Coffee, which I was told is cold brew + condensed milk. As tasty as that sounds, I'm much more likely to order my coffee black than anything else, so I didn't know if this would be for me. But as I was wavering, the barista offered me a sample and it was absolutely delicious. While it was definitely sweet, it wasn't overwhelming. It actually reminded me of coffee in Hawaii - it was as smooth as could possibly be. I ordered a large and loved every sip of it, lactose intolerance be damned. And despite the aforementioned food coma, I couldn't help but try one of the guava & cheese pastries. It was among the best I've ever had. I was feeling full and gross so I intended to order this for later in the day. But I ended up eating every bite right away because it was just so damn delicious. If I lived closer to this shop, it would absolutely be my go-to for coffee. It will certainly be where I go for coffee anytime I'm in Ybor in the future! read more

My friend and I came here this morning for a nice break from our regular work from home setting. I got a cold brew and a crossiant breakfast sandwich...which were both great. The problem here is that they have a nice area with tables and chairs, but no outlets near the tables. I came with a full battery but eventully we needed to plug in. There was one outlet we found, but I had to just balance my laptop on a chair while it charged a little so I could finish what I was doing. 4 people were in there using laptops, so I imagine everyone had to leave when their battery died. We were planning on getting another drink and lunch, but had to go to another coffee shop where we could use an outlet. Kind of a bummer. read more

The cafe con leche is absolutely incredible and considering how large the cups are, worth the price. The corn muffin was warm and delicious. The interior and decor are welcoming and cute. It seems like nice place to relax and hangout. They have domino tables where you can play or books for customers to read. My only issue was I felt the food was overpriced considering the quality. 3 dollars for a tostada (butter toast) that wasn't that buttery and could've been grilled more. The breakfast sandwich was 7.50 but reheated because it was toasted on the outside but cold in the inside. I've definitely had better Cuban breakfast foods for cheaper at smaller local places than this place that seems to cater to the tourist customers more. read more

It took a while for me to find it coming from Causeway Blvd in Brandon, and then it took a while to figure out how to get into the parking lot since I passed it and ended up on Adamo. I pulled into the IKEA parking lot just to get my bearings straight, and figured it out from there but then I had to make a U-turn. No big deal, but just be aware that the parking lot entrance is on 20th or 21st Street (or whatever street) and not 22nd. Let's just say the roads get confusing if you're heading towards Ybor from Brandon because 22nd turns into 20th, and if you pass Durham then you need to turn around. Anyway, it was worth it just to find this little gem of a coffee shop. I don't know much about the history of coffee in Tampa. This coffee shop will give you a little history just by reading the displays inside. The displays made me want to visit the Tampa History Museum, and I will one day. I'm originally from Miami and both my parents were born in Puerto Rico so coffee has played a big role in my life. Nevertheless, I'm still a gringa because my Spanish is rotten but I have had coffee from all over the world and have an appreciation for all things coffee. With that said, I really loved the cono iced latte. I've never had a cold brew mixed with sweetened condensed milk. It was actually quite smooth and satisfying. Now I think I'm spelling the coffee correctly but I'm not quite sure after reading all these reviews. All I know is that my parents would have slapped me if I ever pronounced it with the Latin "Ññ" so I won't use it for this review. I should have asked them why they call it "cono" when I was there. I was thinking maybe it's short for Yaucono but maybe not. I need to ask next time. I also got the traditional Cuban toast that's pressed with butter. I've always loved Cuban toast. I used to get it all the time in Miami. They have a cinnamon toast version that I want to get next time. Something my mom used to make for me when I was young. I was also very happy with the guava pastry. It was fresh and flaky with just the right amount of guava. I think they said it comes from La Caridad which is another local bakery I'd like to visit as well. Yes, there will be more visits in the future. I need to try the nitro cold brew and some of the Café Perez. The interior is very welcoming and comfortable. They have a shop where you can purchase souvenirs or local art. They have a local market in their parking lot on certain Saturdays. You'd have to check their event page. They were setting up for one this past Saturday when I was there. The vendors all were super nice as well as the coffee shop owner and her staff. They are pet friendly too. It's the kind of local hangout that I would love to visit if I was a tourist traveling to Tampa. Check it out if you happen to be near IKEA or Coppertail Brewing. Just keep in mind that they do close at 2pm so you might want to get there early. read more

I am super impressed with Tampa's newest coffee shop! Needing a caffeinated pick-me-up after traveling, my sister and I stopped in 22nd Street Coffee Shop and got some coffees and treats to share. I had the nitro cold brew which was A+ and my sister had their signature cold brew which I had a sip of and was so delicious. We had some guava pastry and empanadas- both of which are made fresh from a local bakery. The pastry was flaky and worth every bite! There is plenty of seating room with tables for working as well as couches for meeting up with friends. The decor in and out is very well done that showcases coffee and how and where it is grown and produced. Everything inside is well kept up and the bathrooms are nice and clean as well. 22nd Street Coffee Shop is not to be missed! read more

Nice little local coffee shop off to the side going on North 22nd Street. There were quite a few people in line and it moved a bit slow, but the iced Chai Latte I ordered was definitely worth the wait. The barista was very courteous and attentive and although it had been a long time since I've been here, she remembered me! Cuban Coffee is a staple in the Tampa area and a must-try is 22nd Street Coffee. Location/Atmosphere: Located on 22nd street right outside of Ybor, this is a great spot on your way into work or worth the drive to get a great cup of coffee. The location is a little tricky to get to, but it's worth a little U-turn. There's plenty of parking and just look for the big sign on the gate. You'll see my photo of the exterior, but there's inside and outside dining with a variety of seating if you're coming for a quick meeting or planning on working there for a while. What to get: I cannot recommend the Cafe con Leche enough. If you've never had a Cafe con Leche, this may change your life, but this is one of my cuban favorites. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their coffees from the freshly brewed to lots of fun drinks, they have it all. The cuban toast is SO fresh and delicious - you have to try the cinnamon toast or the honey butter (or be like me and get both to share haha). They also have a menu with sandwiches and other great cuban items. Other tips: The staff at 22nd Street is incredible. They will always greet you with a smile and help you pick the best menu item for you. There's also some incredible and authentic merchandise in the shop that is a great gift or something for yourself. read more

Great little cafe near Ikea. I needed to run by Ikea for lightbulbs, and I also needed lunch. Thank goodness for this cafe, which is clean and spacious with very pleasant staff. I got a cono coffee and a Cuban sandwich to go. The cono coffee is cold brew with sweetened condensed milk. It is absolutely delicious! The Cuban sandwich was fine. It had all deli meat, so it wasn't "the best," but it was freshly made and well-pressed. I can't complain. Prices are very reasonable. Tip: while the name of the cafe is "22nd Street Coffee," the entrance to the parking lot is on 21st St. So be aware that Waze will steer you wrong. read more

They were able to help navigate the drink list and gave a small sample so you could try what they were describing! The drinks were delicious and the breakfast sandwich was filling. They were very on top of everything and a pleasure to talk to! They require masks currently and have hand sanitizer at the counter as well as a plexiglass divider! This was a treat. I have been on the other side of the shipyard from south tampa before. But what a quaint location!!! Ample parking outside. They made the entrance very aesthetically pleasing. They even colored the dumpster gate! Upon walking in there was a large counter ordering area. There is a lot goin on inside...flyers, information about coffee, different kinds and my eyes didn't know where to start! I was welcomed with a loud greeting from behind the counter. After ordering a cappuccino and cheesy Cuban bread I found a seat towards the back to work. There is ample seating options. Super cute artwork around the area and industrial paneling on another side. The cappuccino was good, I wasn't WOWed by the coffee. The cheesy Cuban bread was fresh light airy and delicious. I would certainly go back and try some other options. Always down for a new coffee shop, I've been meaning to get here. 22nd Street Coffee Shop is located across from Brisk Coffee Company just near the Crosstown Expressway and IKEA in Ybor City. This shop has a variety of hot and cold brews as well as some sandwiches and great Cuban bread. Cuban bread is one of the reasons I love living in Tampa so much and this one delivers. For coffee, I tried the Cafe Ybor and this is something I haven't had at most places around town. It's an espresso with evaporated milk. Tastes great and made to just the right temperature. The prices were more than fair and there is Wi-Fi and some plugs in the back with plenty of tables and couches so this can also serve as a great place to have a meeting or get some work done. I'm surprised there are not more cafes like this around town, it's definitely different and in a good way. The baristas were friendly and cordial, walking me through the menu and answering any questions I had. I'd recommend 22nd Street Coffee. read more

My beverage experience will need to earn it's way up the STAR RATING Ladder here. Five Stars: for the friendly, welcoming baristas. Answered my questions and even gave me a sample of coffee beverage to try. Also, for the large dining space which is nicely decorated and includes two, small game tables. One Star for the baristas incorrectly completing the order: One Cuban cheese toast, one MEDIUM Café con leché, and one egg and cheese on Cuban, pressed. What was sent to the table: a large Café con leché (which I thought was a medium until one of my friends showed me his "medium" coffee); Cuban toast with no cheese, and no sandwich. My friend's had finished their order and I hadn't gotten my sandwich. Going to the barista to inquire, I was told it was being made as my original sandwich was given to someone else. Nice. It's a good thing I wasn't in a hurry. Three Stars: quality if food. Nothing to write about. Cuban bread. Café con leché. And a sandwich I got, eventually. Recently met a business associate for a morning meeting here and picked it based on Yelp reviews. I am not from Tampa and was a little hard to find but once there I loved it. Really cool atmosphere with historic old Tampa and coffee house pictures. The staff was super friendly and greeted me right when I came in. I ordered a black coffee but didn't know which flavor. Employee recommended one and it was delicious. We hung there for about 45" and she ordered tea and I got a breakfast sandwich. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty coffee.
