Great food, service, and easy parking. The chicken and beef are fresh from a local farm. I would return.

this place is alright. the food is okay, server is direct and blunt, space is dim. this is a good place to go to if you want quiet, in and out, and decent breakfast.

After a late night of working my friends and I were STARVING! Thank goodness 24 Diner was open, serving and welcoming to our exhausted selves. I got the 24 Smash Burger and it was perfectly cooked and exactly what I needed!

I've been back a few times since my last review, so it's time for an update. Unfortunately, the service has been hit and miss. Sometimes I have a positive server, and other times I have a server who is going through the motions and clearly wants to get away from my table as soon as possible. That's not the kind of service I expect in a restaurant. I've been ordering breakfast and it's been solid. My eggs come out right, the bacon is cooked well, crispy waffles, excellent skillet fries.

Delicious gourmet diner food (yes, It's a thing). Even if you are not vegetarian/vegan, you do jot want to miss their homemade veggie burger. It is sooooo tasty amd the grilled spicy peppers give it a kick. The malted waffle is very rich and unique. My boyfriend enjoyed the hash and he was pleased with the generous portion. Friendly service and good coffee!

Random order for breakfast, but we started with meatballs and burrata which were great! The bread was warm and burrata was fire. I got the veggie hash but without Swiss and the portion was huge which is always a plus. I didn't try the Benedict but it looked good. Really flavorful and everything came out pretty fast. The staff was attentive and friendly!

I had a really solid dining experience at 24 Diner. I stopped by for lunch right before a flight. It was brunch time on a weekday so there weren't that many people dining in. They did have a few people who came to grab takeaway orders. The wait staff are really sweet and service was good. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with fries. It was tasty. The portion was perfect for a lunchtime meal. They do have a breakfast menu that is available all day; pretty good choice if you have a craving for breakfast things!

Hey, there's a diner next to the Waterloo records shop at 6th and Lamar. Seems to have adequate parking, if it's not too busy. Unfortunately, the food obtained here was excessively salty. The fries--a bit overcooked (dark yellow), and over salted; you'll swigging water or your beverage after eating a few. And that house sausage for which you should do yourself a favor and not order? Salt bomb. Bacon Avocado Burger? They asked how I wanted the meat cooked, so I request medium, but it came well-done... ok. I did enjoy the burger though, just not the fries that came with. As for the veggie hash? It was kind of nice with a slightly cheesy flavor. The egg was sunny side up, slightly runny, as requested. But the house-made sausage on the side? Please don't order that, as you'll regret it. Unless you love salt. I did taste herbs and spices within their house made sausage, but the salt was too much. Water cups were kept adequately filled (I suppose to dilute the sodium). Would I come back again? Definitely not.

24 Hash at the top. Side of waffle in the middle. Breakfast burger at the bottom.

Food was so good! That cinnamon butter on the waffle was to die for. Service was satisfactory.

This is a beautiful diner with friendly staff and a straightforward menu. This is the diner that is never bad. I absolutely had to come back for their chicken and waffles classic, and to try their chocolate shake. The chicken tenders were juicy and the fluffy waffles were just perfect for anytime of the day. The chocolate shake was marbled with syrup and whipped cream was optional. There is plenty of parking for this place right at the edge of downtown. It is the ideal location for shopping at nearby local shops and bringing out of towners.

If you're in Austin and craving a meal at any hour, 24 Hour Diner is the spot. We had the best waitress ever fun, engaging, and full of great recommendations. Honestly, she made me feel like a VIP just for showing up. The egg burger is a straight up legend. Juicy, cheesy, with a perfectly cooked egg on top, it's basically the breakfast of champions in burger form. I may have even cheered a little. And the vanilla lattes? Out of this world. I'm pretty sure they're brewed with magic and a tiny bit of happiness. Friendly staff, unbeatable vibes, and food that will ruin all other diners for you. 24 Hour Diner, you've officially taken over my heart and my late-night cravings.

My beautiful girlfriend, traveling home from Vancouver, had a morning layover in Austin just recently on a weekday, and I got us a reservation to Paperboy East. Compared to the weekends, their schedule was a lot more open. On the weekends it can be nearly impossible to get a spot unless it's a few weeks in advance. We had a reservation at 8 am right when they opened, and when we walked in, we were seated immediately. The place looks like a modern twist on the old-school diners your grandparents love. There's also an upstairs and downstairs patio. Plenty of space! We were sat at one of the two-person tables. To start, I ordered their house drip coffee while my girlfriend got their "Lil Remi," an iced cappuccino with salted caramel. The black coffee was excellent and flavorful, while my girlfriend thought her Lil Remi was like a milkier shaken espresso that she really liked. From their starters, we ordered their Blueberry Lemon Pop Tart to share. I am a sucker for a homemade Pop Tart, and the jam on the inside was extremely fresh, and the icing and crust of the Pop Tart itself was sturdy and full of flavor. For our entrees, I ordered their Texas Hash with added avocado while my girlfriend ordered their famous Paperboy Pancake with chocolate chips as a full breakfast with bacon and two over-hard eggs. It wasn't a long wait at all to get our food. The Texas hash looked great and was presented quite nicely, which is a shame because I immediately proceeded to mash it all together to make sure every bite had a perfect balance of the roasted pork, sweet potatoes, egg, and avocado. It was very filling and substantial, which is great because I needed it to last me up to dinner. The pancake is the star of the show and is worth the order alone. The flying saucer they serve rises like a cake in the oven and is extremely fluffy. She was surprised with how it was a traditional pancake but loved how moist it was for its size. A perfect pancake to her. A perfect pancake to me because she couldn't finish it, so I took it to go and ate the last few bites immediately after dropping her off at the airport. For being an upscale diner in the prime area of Austin, I knew Paperboy was going to be pricey, but I honestly thought that it would crack $100 before tip between the two of us. I was very happy to see it was not even close to that and cost us about $80 with tip. To me, that felt fair for Austin, and I would pay that price any day of the week for a breakfast like we had. I've had a few of the locally owned brunch and breakfast spots in Austin and concur with the masses that this sits strongly at the top of the list. Best pancakes, best atmosphere, and the best times. RIYL: Good vibes served with maple syrup

The ambiance in here is warm and inviting, there is a lot of natural light in here. It did get a little hot sitting at the table near the door but otherwise it felt nice in here. I ordered the chicken & biscuit along with a cheddar hash brown. I thought the food was pretty pricey but again this is Austin. The chicken was crispy, but a bit more crispy than you think it is. I had some parts where I felt like I was eating chicken jerky but the flavor was nice. I enjoyed the hot honey sauce on the chicken. The biscuit was harder than I expected it to be. Overall the food here was fine, a bit on the pricier side. Also, the parking here is limited as it is all street parking in an alley.

My biggest issue started before I even got seated. There is a QR code that you're required to use to join the waitlist/queue, but this is not clearly communicated on their website. You essentially have to arrive at the restaurant and figure it out once you're there. For a restaurant that is known for having long waits and high traffic, I feel like this information should be clearly stated online so people can plan accordingly. Once I joined the queue, I was number 43 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half before being seated. I understand that popular restaurants can have long wait times, but the lack of transparency about how the process works made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. The menu has a lot of potential, and clearly, some dishes are excellent! Unfortunately, mine just wasn't one of them.
