2Johns is probably the "fanciest" steak spot in the Bossier City area. Located on Airline, the interior is fairly upscale with full service. To start, the menu pricing is definitely reflecting the upscale steakhouse that it is going for. Their Caesar salad was solid (4/5); I wish they had some anchovies on it though. I got the prime New York strip for my main (16 oz, $68) with a requested medium rare cook. The steak came out a bit tough, even for prime, and the seasoning was overly heavy on the pepper and the fat on the side of the steak needed more rendering. The cook was closer to a medium, which is fine, but it didn't help with the toughness. The sentiment of the group was that there was too much black pepper on all of the steaks and that the cuts were a bit tough (3/5). The sides were hit and miss; the Mac and cheese was solid (4/5), mushroom risotto was a bit meh (3/5), and sauteed mushrooms were also a bit bland (3/5). The crème brûlée was solid as well (4/5) besides the whipped cream on top. Overall, there were some hits and some misses but the toughness of the steaks and the over seasoning brings the steak dinner experience down slightly, especially at this price point.

Earlier this month while solo dining on a business trip, I dropped into 2Johns during happy hour on a weekday. I quickly learned that it's a popular spot with live music and a livelier crowd. As soon as I took a seat at a bar table, a guy came over with water and trail mix. A minute or two later, my server Katy came over and introduced herself. Having no idea what to order, I went with Katy's recommendation, the special. The special was Chilean Sea Bass with lump crab meat and grilled shrimp, a side of goat cheese mashed potatoes, and asparagus spears. Every bit of it was melt-in-your-mouth good. Feeling stuffed, I ordered the crème brulee to go. I'd put this on my 'creme de la creme' top 5 list of crème brûlée's. The food, drinks, and service were 5 star. I'll be back.

The food was amazing!! Can not get enough! I ate so much, I wanted to unbutton my pants! The food was savory and well seasoned. The steaks were tender and juicy. The potato's and "green beans" (haricots verts) were so amazing and delicious. The dessert was so tasty, I couldn't stop eating. The appetizer (spinach and artichoke dip) was so delicious, I wish it had just a little more spinach in it but overall I loved the chunky artichoke and all the cheese. The chips were a side to it and they appeared freshly baked and super crispy. Heavily seasoned but perfect. Everything was just amazing. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived (around 5p is when they opened) but picked up later in the evening. There is a small bar where happy hour starts around 4p. It was a great experience. The staff was great! Our waiter (Scott) was extremely friendly and had the perfect amount of "checking on us" timing. He wasn't doing too much or too little. He checked on us at the right moments and was extremely patient when we were deciding dessert. He was quick to take our order and got us our food in a timely manner. Everything was just perfect. Had a great time!

This high class steak house is really a local treat. I really loved the filet mignon served oscar style. We had exceptional service. I loved the live music during dinner. The ambiance was fitting for a fine dining establishment.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here with a great dinner. We had the Crab Cakes as an appetizer. Which is always good. I tried something new to me- the Cajun Snapper. It was delicious and it had crawfish on top. For dessert we shared the Fudge Brownie with ice cream. We love 2Johns and will be back soon for their Friday lunch.

Eating here fess such a memorable experience. We had a large group celebrating a graduation. The service was quite literally the best I've ever had! The food is so good and I highly recommend the pork chop or any of the steak dishes. I don't live in the area but if I did, I would be sure to frequent this place for date night or celebratory dinners.

Boo and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. Our server was Scott, and he was great. We shared the crabmeat (not the crabcakes, the other one) appetizer, I ordered the smaller filet mignon, and he got the pork chop. His pork chop was the star of the dinner. His sweet potato side was too sweet; they added stuff to an already sweet enough base. My filet and mashed red potatoes were good, though some of my green beans seemed a little too crunchy. The crab app did have some good lumps of meat, but they could've gone easier on the cheese/sauce. We wished we had room for dessert but unfortunately did not. Overall, good experience!

    Is there outside dining available?

J.D. We offer two versions of outside seating. We have an open-air patio with wrap-around windows…

How long should I plan on dinner taking if I want to go see a movie afterwards?

Bar service is very efficient for both food & drinks. In the dining area - I would call-ahead as there are sometimes large parties in their special-events room in the back.

    Is this placed closed?

No, but we are closed on Sundays and Mondays each week.

The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. It feels very chaotic and unorganized. We were given a discount and key lime pie & a cookie for our "troubles". Even with the discount we were still over $100 for a bad meal.

So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.

The menu has changed in the last year (apologies for lack of photos), so I recommend checking the website's menu for the most current offerings.
