I went when they were closing but they managed to pull off wings. I asked people around town and they told me to come here for the wings. I tried it and saw that it was good. I didn't try anything else but the wings here are one of the best wings anyone might experience. It's breaded well, seasoned well, and flavor is spicy!! I am not from here. But I've been here long enough to know how most restaurants are in the area. This place is something I would have expected in Dallas. The ambiance is country western. With fun decor of animals and country singers. The bar is very busy on Friday and full of fun people. Food: got the famous chicken fried steak and it was fantastic. Freshly cooked and crispy fried breading. The gravy is a lil spicy with jalapeños but not too much. Fresh green beans perfectly cooked with a soft snap in every bite. Perfect size for a big appetite. And only $16. Definitely try it! Also, got the wings. With Louisiana hot sauce and Parmesan. Seriously they know how to fry food! Spicy and savory. Great meal with friends before going out. The country fried steak (forgot to get pic) was as big as the plate and was delish!! The jalapeño gravy was just spicy enough. The brisket nachos were piled high! Our waitress was friendly and never let drinks get empty. read more

Was recommend this establishment and decided to try it only to be discriminated by the African American hostess. She was taking care of another African American and addressed the concern only to be lied to as there was no waiting list until we arrived for a party of 6. Spoke to Mgr to address the concern and it would be awhile before a table is ready so we opt to miss out but address a concern as no one should experience what we experienced ( we were a diversity) group but unfortunately I was not the right person to be accomplished to. read more

They refused service for a group of people that tried coming in at 10:45, when they had several tables open inside AND outside because they said they had a large reservation at 1pm. Wouldn't even serve beverages in this 100 degree heat. read more

Came here this past Sunday for brunch and had the mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. What a cool concept! We all ordered the brunch bowl, chicken and pancakes, and the steak with chimichurri. OH SO GOOD. Me and bestie decided to go to happy hour. We called before going to see if it was happy hour and the girl told us it ended at 7:00pm. We went back once again. Let me start first by saying Sam our server was AMAZING. He was kind, funny, and waited on us hand and foot. We are annoying I'm almost positive. We are not from here and found this gem of a restaurant by accident. The food was delicious and the best I have had ever. I wanted to take the cook home with me so they could show them how it's really suppose to be done. Our waitress Tori was fantastic! She was very attentive and very kind. Had the most amazing personality too! I give this restaurant a 10/10! If you haven't tried it you are definitely missing out! We live 1.5 hours away and would gladly make the trip every Friday to enjoy this great restaurant! Lexi and the crew in the kitchen are helpful and give excellent service. The atmosphere was relaxed, eclectic , and had a great vibe. The bar offers a wide array of adult beverages, and the food was very tasty, not your average eatery. Menu was very diverse and I recommend the house specialty chicken wings. Based on the specials we enjoyed a tab only slightly above fast food and far more enjoyable. This is my second visit to Tejas and I've enjoyed it both time. I do find it a bit pricey, but we'll get into that. I went with a big group of people so that I could try a little bit of everything. Let's start with appetizers. The brisket nachos are PHENOMENAL! But don't trust me, try it for yourself. The cheese fries are ok, but not the greatest. I wish the fries were thicker and maybe had some chili on them to make them less dry. The queso with chorizo is prettty flavorful. Now for the main dish, skip the wings. I've had better, a lot better actually. And $8 for 6 wings just seems pricey to me for mediocre wings. Also I like plain ranch and all they have is chipotle ranch. The Tejas burger is a solid win! If burgers aren't your jam then try the shrimp and grits or chicken fried steak. All were really yummy. And don't skip out on happy hour. They have some great drinks. Our waitress was very attentive and didn't miss a beat. Everyone is friendly, the atmosphere is laid back, and it's really just a great place to go!! Give it a try! read more

Food was good. Had the steak and eggs with potatoes and grits. Steak was cooked medium rare I asked for medium so it was bloody for my taste but still good. Loved the grits. eggs and potatoes were eggs and potatoes. Small portions which was fine for my appetite but my husband would have left hungry. SO. GOOD. We started with a mojito and margarita and they were both really good...We got the tuna stack for an appetizer and it was amazing. For entrees, I got the quail and my boyfriend got the shrimp and grits and they were both just sooooooooo good. I can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu! We actually only came here bc oyster bar was jam packed, but I actually liked the food here A LOT better than the oyster bar---y'all just need to add oysters to the menu read more

My husband and I went here on a whim. Last minute, drive by kinda decision. Some of the BEST food served here!! We shared the fried avacado for an appetizer. Nothing like you would expect.... We both had salad, all their dressings are homemade. The buttermilk blue cheese was amazing!! Not too blue, not to buttermilk. Hubby had shrimp lettuce wraps gave em a solid 5 out of 5!! Located in town oaks square with baskin Robbins, mc Donald's, dillas and oyster bar, Tejas was a backup when we couldn't get seated at some other local eateries around there. We loved their brunch when we finally got to try it and since then it became the brunch place of our top choice! My favorite is their chicken and pancake, and my husband gets the brunch burger or the bowl. Everything is really cheap for what you get and the service is usually great too! This isn't your everyday steakhouse. The chicken fried steak is amazing. Everything on menu has a twist to make it unique. CFS is perfectly fried with jalapeño gravy. Get the pancake- it's the best ever- that rosemary heavy cream on top is so good. Also, $3 singles & $4 doubles of make your own Bloody Marys or mimosas. Service was fast & good as well. Each taco had a healthy portion of meat, along with fresh toppings and homemade tortillas (both flour and corn). The pork tacos were my personal favorite. Everything was a hit outside of the queso. It got so hard so fast and it was not standard cheese. When you went to scoop your chip, it kept cracking and was not flavorful. Each taco was about $5 (pricy end for the size of taco), but definitely worth it. Will definitely come back again.

Really uncomfortable and unenjoyable place to dine. I will NOT go back. I would much rather spend my hard-earned money on good food and an enjoyable atmosphere.
