Decided to use our golf package appetizer voucher at 32 Palm this time as a change and it was the best decision of the trip. The food here is fantastic, whoever is in charge of the food operation deserves a large applause as everything we had was outstanding. It was also little touches like the lemon halve in cheesecloth with the steamed shrimp that elevated what is the usual tired beach fare that everyone does. The french onion soup was probably the best I've ever had and the jerk chicken tenders were fabulous. The service was outstanding as well. I would go back here in a heartbeat. read more

During our stay here we were able to dine at the 32 palm restaurant twice. The meal started with pieces of warm bread served with butter. Dinner 1: the first time we came in we decided to share 4 small plates and appetizers between three people and so we got the sesame scallops with zucchini noodles, ahi tuna, the mushroom flatbread, and the mussels and chorizo. These appetizers and small plates were actually quite large! The scallops were a good size, we got 4 on the plate and they were cooked perfectly. The mushroom flatbread was pretty basic but tasted great. The ahi tuna was surprising as they brought out a large plate with 18 pieces of perfectly sliced tuna and a seaweed salad all covered in a soy sauce glaze. The glaze was a bit overpowering on it's own but when combined with the seaweed and tuna it was a perfect bite. Finally the mussels and chorizo were cooked perfectly. We used the extra crust from the flatbread to soak up the wonderful seafood broth it was all floating in. We really enjoyed our meal and best of all, each dish was only $11!! Such a steal for the kind of food and the amount of food you get! Overall a great first dinner. Dinner 2: we came back on our last night staying in the hotel (if you are in the hotel, make sure to pick up a 20% off coupon for the entrees at the front desk) and we got the scallops again to start with the hummus dip and this time got the veggie palenta with roasted red peppers and the steak and shrimp entrees. The palenta was good but needed a little more veggies on top in my opinion, the spinach underneath was delicious though. The steak was cooked a little more than asked for but still tasted great and we got it with the Mediterranean couscous and sauteed green beans and zucchini. The couscous and veggies were perfect! We finished off with a creme brulee and it was made perfectly! Overall two great meals, only thing is it's pretty slow service. The restaurant was pretty empty both times and it was surprising why things moved so slowly but the waitresses were very nice both times! read more

Ordered the fresh fruit and yogurt crunch for breakfast, expected more of a parfait so I was pleasantly surprised by all the fresh fruit! We absolutely love this hotel. The pool, the clean rooms, the service, the walk to the beach. It is an excellent place to stay. However, the restaurant food is not great. Service and staff are great though! We booked it for a special birthday celebration and were very disappointed in the menu and the food. Wine selection was cheap wine. No one finished their meals. We all took just a couple bites. Felt bad because we are sure it's just a staffing issue at this point. We were also annoyed that we couldn't make reservations other than 6:15pm and the whole time we were there, only 3 other tables were seated. Bummer about the food. read more

Subpar. Got $90 worth of food. The strip was pancake thin. Crab cake was fishy. Fries, which we ask for well done were soggy. The fries were thicker than the steak. Liked the burger. We stayed at the oceanfront Hilton which houses this restaurant. While it is a limited restaurant in terms of venue and menu due to Covid, the food was very good and reasonable for an in house hotel restaurant. I would not come here other than if I was staying at the Hilton but I would definitely encourage those at the hotel to make use of this restaurant for any of the 3 daily meals they serve. Searching for a place in Ocean City that offered vegan options and we came across this place in a Google search. Didn't know it was inside the Hilton, wish we would have found that info as it took us a little bit to find it when we were driving around searching for it. I wish there were a way to leave a negative star. They don't deserve even one. They offer a breakfast buffet that is unfit for human consumption. I asked for steak and eggs today and it was over cooked and unable to be cut with a steak knife. The eggs were undercooked too. Went there today for Thanksgiving buffet with friends and enjoyed it immensely! Smothered chicken was amazing! Seafood medley was not good at all. Veggies were mushy too. I stayed at the Hilton for a week during off season and had breakfast almost everyday. I liked their salmon dish and their eggs benedict capriese. My only complaint as to why its not more stars is the hit and miss of the meal. Some days it was prepared average and the other days the chef completely missed the mark. Today's breakfast had to much salt. The other day you could see the tomato onions and peppers had been sitting diced for a while. Stayed at the hotel that this restaurant is in. Our party had breakfast there 3 times. If you like Beastie Boys blaring in your ears at 7:30 on a Sunday morning after having to seat your self because the hostess and waiters were too busy hanging at the kitchen doorway and texting, this is the place for you, Food does not live up to the standards one expects from a Hilton hotel, but is ok. There was one bright spot and that was a young lady from the eastern block countries. We were lucky to have her once, apparently she is the only one who actually works and puts forth an effort. Pros - Coffee pot left at table - Real cream brought upon request (the half and half had sodium citrate in it) - Clean - Decor nice Cons - Container on buffet is labeled "maple syrup", asked for ingredients and it's actually a fake chemical breakfast syrup (can you say FRAUD) - Breads are in a dark corner - Pastries from a factory - Fruit was tasteless (berries, melon, and pineapple in the winter?!) - Sign next to oatmeal says brown sugar, but only turbinado is available Obviously not worth the $32 for the two of us. read more

This is a fairly good restaurant. A little hard to find being in the Hilton but the food was decent. Too much for me to be able to finish which is rare!! There was a bug in one of my friends drinks and they replaced it with out a beat. I expected a little bit of "oh show me" or something, but did not happen. Our waitress was great and handled our large party flawlessly and even handled a couple of people in our party who had no idea of how to conduct themselves/order at a nice restaurant. She explained was the food items were that they did not know with out making them feel bad...she did a great job of covering the eye rolls I am sure she wanted to do. Came back for a third time. Reducing my rating for a second time. The food itself was still very good. I had the gnocchi with marinara sauce and a salad. But the service and timing has suffered greatly. We waited a very long time even for soup and salads. So minus one star. Secondly, I have recently become vegetarian. They tried to have some vegetarian dishes, but none of them include a proper protein option. Also, there is no veggie soup option when there could easily be. So, minus a second star. Chicken chorizo quesadilla- I don't think Palm necessarily made it bad, Its just a bad dish that probably shouldn't be on the menu. The grease from the Chorizo makes a giant mess and causes the thin flour tortilla to be wet and soggy. Maybe I should of known better and just should of ordered something else. The buffet is typical of a breakfast hotel buffet- standard food, replenished often and overpriced. The Al la carte menu has a decent omelette (create your own), but consistency was off. The first two mornings it was delicious and then the last morning was over cooked. So to sum it up, standard breakfast fare. What really ticks me off is the stupid little discount card you get when you check in at the Hotel. "Take this to our restaurant and get 20% off". So we take it for lunch...nope can't use it for lunch. Took it to dinner...nope. Can't use it for ANYTHING but an "entree"...no appetizer, drinks or anything else. What's the point? On our very first trip to Ocean City, we chose this as our last supper. Overall, it was an epic trip and we fell in love with Ocean city but 32 Palm probably takes the cake for the best worst service we have ever received- and we eat out A LOT, probably too much. I'm not going to drop any names but our server could not have cared any less about his job and you know what, we really liked him for that because he's just a young kid working at the Hilton probably just thinking about what time he gets off so he can go hang out with his girlfriend at the beach... But first, the food: The cobb salad: This is HUGE. We shared it as an appetizer and were almost too full for dinner. The chicken isn't too spicy and the blue cheese dressing is nice and creamy. There's also chunks of avocado and bacon crumbles. Surf and turf: The lobster tail is on the small side, but it had a sweet flavor and was really meaty. The steak was a bright red medium rare and much larger than I expected for a filet. Now here's where I'm going to talk about service: So my boyfriend asks the server what kind of beer "Fin City" is and the server shrugs and says, "I don't know. Maybe local?" Well yeah, we know it's local because it's from Ocean city but what we wanted to know is what the beer tastes like. The server made no effort to find out and just stood there staring at us so my boyfriend ordered it. When it arrived, my boyfriend told him it was a little citrusy and hoppy- you know so he could have some tasting notes in case anyone else ever asked him- and the server just said, oh alright cool and then walked off. Then, when it came time to order, I asked him about the "orange rice" side. I said, "is this like white rice with slices of oranges in it?" and the server says to me, a Chinese girl, and I'm not kidding here, "Well it's not an asian style of rice... it's like a mexican style." So then we order the orange rice and lo and behold when it shows up, it's WHITE RICE WITH MANDARIN ORANGES IN IT just like I thought. Anyways, the whole situation was laughable but this server probably sees the rice every day of his life and yet he has no idea what's even in it. Anyways, 32 Palm is not bad for quality. The atmosphere was really empty and creepy when we were there and it's pretty much like what you think eating in an hotel would be like with faded cushoned chairs and pseudo-fancy service. Came here for the convenience of being in the hotel and not much was open during the off-season. I was surprised to see about 5 different couples and families in the dining area. We had 7 people in our party, 3 of them being kids. The atmosphere has the modern hotel feel of beiges and dark greens with soft yellow lighting. We tried our best to order vegetarian food items and order as many vegetable sides as we were able. I had a Caesar salad that was fine, but it had a ton of croutons on it. Two of the kids ordered gnocchi marinara- $18 and it was fine but they couldn't eat it all. Most others ordered the Grilled Vegetable Stacker. The downer of the evening was a disagreement my wife had with the waitress over the sides that came with my son's Polenta meal. The menu states, "all entrees are served with assorted artesian rolls, our chef's selection of fresh vegetables and your choice of starch add a side house, spinach or caesar salad for $3". When my wife asked where the rest of the meal was for my son, she stated that the Polenta meal is a starch, so they don't honor the veggie sides. For one, an entrée is an entrée and they shouldn't have it on the menu like that if it is some weird policy they subscribe to. Second, i think polenta is corn, which is a veggie and not a starch, last time I checked. Lastly, a 9-yr old that is starting to eat everything in our house shouldn't be shortchanged a plate of broccoli and a potato. Lame reasoning on behalf of the restaurant and it took a discussion with the manager to resolve. Two of us had also ordered hummus and pita bread. Maybe I am more sensitive to salt these days, but it was some of the saltiest hummus that I have ever had. It was a huge plate though and more than enough to share. I felt bad for the staff there since it was obvious that one waitress was handling all of the tables. She was very nice and friendly. No issue there at all. I think it is tough to manage a place like this in the off-season, because you don't know how many are going to show from night to night. I guess I just expected more from a place that was charging me $18 and above entrée meals.
