Maria is the best. The birria was fantastic and the tamale and burrito you can tell was homemade and so fresh. The green salsa is spicy and soooo good so was the au jus (I drink it like soup). So, I was looking for a place to grab Mexican, I found one on Maps. I admit that I didn't read the description too far in, just noticed that it was close and had enough at the top of the menu for me. When I dropped by, the outside was not what I was expecting. The inside is very different with cool arches and South of the border flare. Now the important stuff: the menu was massive! Not only did the have Mexican, they had grinders, wings, Italian and even pizza! I love poppers and they have the option of cream cheese or cheddar. The wings and poppers were tasty!! I also had a chicken Alfredo with mushrooms and it was also tasty. I wasn't in town long enough to try the pizza, but I noticed that patrons were always walking out the door with them in all sizes. I've been meaning to write a review about the 371 Family Restaurant and Pizzaria, which is a casual sitdown/takeout restaurant serving American, Italian and a bit of Mexican food on the menu. The atmosphere inside is pretty festive and the dining areas have the "fairy tale" feel of a Mediterranean villa with mock stone columns, colorful painted walls, nice potted flowers, and stained glass lights. It's kind of cheesy, far from being Disney-esque, but I like it! The menu has quite a bit of pasta dishes, pizza, salads, and sandwiches and the prices are pretty fair. They also offer daily sandwich specials for $6.95 (ie. tuna& swiss pita, peppersteak sandwich, fried chicken & ranch sandwich) which include steak fries. Beer and wine are served here. I decided to grab some dinner takeout at 371 after a short ski trip. I ordered the Homemade Meat Lasagna ($8.95) which included a side salad and dinner roll. The food was ready in about 15 minutes after I placed my order. I checked my order in the car and I did have to go back inside the restaurant after they forgot my dinner roll, which was given to me, no apology though. The meat lasagna was a generous portion, which was very greasy to eat and loaded with lots of ground meat, layered with cheeses, sauce, and firm noodles. The side salad was pretty fresh and the soft dinner roll was good for dipping up the extra sauce and grease of the lasagna. The food was very tasty and filling, but I did have to sip some soothing hot tea after dinner because of the grease. I would return again, but order a sandwich with a beer next time. read more

I will say this place is diamond for Mexican food though it does offer other foods. The quality is actually decently high. My only thing is that patrons might have to wait for the food to arrive. The food was always greasy, the ingredients not the best. But my wife loves their Greek food, so every now and then, we try again. Zero stars, would not recommend it. My inner Gordon Ramsey is demanding a blood sacrifice. To be fair, my gut was telling me as soon as we walked in that this place is trying suspiciously hard to promote itself as a Mexican restaurant (or at least what rural Vermonters think one looks like). But our waiter wouldn't shut up about how the owner just got back from Mexico, so we figured we'd give that part of the menu a shot. Right out the gate, my wife ordered the tamales only to be told they didn't have any because they run out fast (hmm... maybe don't put them in three places on the menu if you can't keep them available). There was something else she asked for instead that they didn't have, I forget what. She ended up ordering the clam strips instead, while I ordered a burrito. One would think that after ordering the second round of drinks, a solid hour after we sat down, the wait staff would have checked the kitchen for our order. Instead, we had to flag down someone to ask, after seeing two tables and several to-go orders get served first. When we finally got our food (1.5 hours after sitting down), both orders were stone cold! I would have sent it all back if we were not already in a rush to eat due to the delay. And to make matters worse, they didn't even get my order right at all. Per the menu, the $19 "habanero steak" burrito I ordered was supposed to come with beans, red rice, and guac on the side. It was served with only about a serving spoon's worth of the blandest rice I've ever had. I had to ask for the beans (they at least were okay), which our waiter played off as "it's the least I can do". I didn't remember about the guac until I was about halfway through eating, so I let that go. The "burrito" itself had some non-descript slice of melted cheese on top (I'm fairly sure they served me their enchilada) and NONE of the ingredients except for the steak matched the menu description, most notably not even a hint of habanero; the literal flavor that made me willing to pay double what this meal should have cost. The only flavor it had at all was the Verde salsa, and that was medium at best. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30-50 Vegetarian options: I didn't try them, but they exist on the menu. Kid-friendliness: Does the owner's 4-year-old running around count? Parking: Parking is a free-for-all mess. No lines to suggest where the spots are. Just park wherever, and pray the cars next to you are not owned by morons. Wheelchair accessibility: No regular parking spaces translates directly to no handicapped spaces; strange considering the size of the parking lot. The inside looked okay in terms of space to get a wheelchair through. Dietary restrictions: It's a greasy spoon, masquerading as a Mexican restaurant, that also does pizza; all poorly. This is truly a hidden gem! You would never think of a pizza joint for prime rib but Friday night and Saturday night they serve the best prime rib I have ever tasted! It is far better than any steak house I've ever been to. It is tender and tasty. Their pizza is good and the big bowl of queso is good. But the prime rib is just incredible. An unassuming white façade opens into a lobby covered with Technicolor Mexican-American "banderas" (stenciled flags and banners), Mexican dolls, and considerable Corona beer bottle cutouts. The menu is BROAD, with Mexican but also Italian and Americana dishes. My girlfriend, a close college friend of mine, and I called earlier on this past Saturday night to order take-out for a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. A Mexican-born mother and American father with their two daughters and one son run the restaurant with some extra staff. While finishing touches were put on the pizza, we talked with the mother, about what brought her and her family to Springfield and in little time our pizza was ready. We ate within minutes, portioning out medium-crust, crispy slices of pizza with tasteful sizes of pepperoni and mushrooms. Even the tomato sauce with mozzarella and cheddar cheese took on the taste of Italian-American comfort food, with a blend of pureed tomatoes, tomato paste, and tomato sauce. We polished off the whole pizza (crusts included). Seeing how well their pizza took shape, I'm only curious to see how their other Italian, Mexican, and Americana dishes take shape! read more

Mr family of four kids and my husband and I ordered last week 10/23/2014 at 7pm @ 8:45 we called to see why putt delivery hasn't arrived and when it would be coming. They said they didn't know they had two more deliveries ahead of us.that's what they said at seven. So I had my husband drive down at nine to pick it up. The food hasn't even been choked. Then this week 10/29/2014 I ordered a calzone which came completely raw dough. I called back to have a replacement sent and was told I would one, have to pick it up when the first was delivered and paid a tip. And two pay for it to be fully cooked.
