The pizza was amazing as always and so were the people in the restaurant that helped me at the counter

Stopped in for lunch early afternoon last week. Door was open but no other customers. Walked up to the counter and the menu sign wasn't working, so grabbed menus with the family to decide what to get. That's when we realized that the AC wasn't working. Figured the open door was just to cool off the outside or air the place out. Nope. No AC. It was SO hot in the restaurant. Food took a while too because the first pizza that was attempted got stuck to the pan and burned. When the pizza did arrive, it was very good. Very greasy, but good. The pepperoni was cooked well and I enjoyed the crust. I never enjoy the crust. If the AC was working, it would've been a much better visit. read more

$10 dollar hamburger asked for no salt on fries and they were loaded with salt. I try eat them but it was to much. My friend ordered a sub and was not happy with the very small amount of meat in the sandwich. i saw it and it looked thin for a $13 dollar sandwich. There was no one else in the place on a Friday night. Almost left without our food. First, No AC. It's REALLY hot and the staff has to be sweltering. The boys were dripping sweat which made eating my sandwich almost unbearable. Deplorable service! We pre-ordered a pizza for a 5pm pickup, meaning we called around 3:30. I arrived at 5 and there was no pizza. I asked the man at the counter and he got huffy with me. I gave him another 20 minutes (the time HE gave me) and still no pizza. He was nasty! Saying "WTF do you want me to do? I'm training someone and I can't do everything!" He continued to swear in front of children. I waited again only to find that they made the wrong pizza, didn't even have the decency to tell me as such or give the me the option of taking the wrong one and they gave it away for free to another customer. I finally took my pie an hour later and went home only to find a soupy undercooked pizza. No apology, just slid the pizza across the counter. Just awful!!! Don't take orders of you can't handle them! I ordered two subs from door dash and they arrived with no meat in them. I called the restaurant and the employee said the slips print light and the employees don't see them properly. He told me to contact door dash and they would refund me. I filed with door dash and they made an offer of less than 50% refund. Called the store back and the same guy refused to help and said I had to go through door dash. I started asking about the mix up and he said "if you're going to complain and be an a**hole, don't order from here again" and hung up. He needn't worry, and neither does door dash. I won't be ordering with either again. Very poor customer service, not in keeping with the normal businesses in my hometown. 0/10, do not recommend. read more

Okay. Updating a previous review. Previously I had many criticisms...the owner (assuming the owner) wrote back. After having trying them again twice now, I do think they've made immense positive changes. For one...their crust. It's one of the best I've ever had. Like an expertly created French baguette at the end of the pizza. Crunchy exterior, great chew, flavorful crumb. The inner crust still won't hold up in a slice, but probably my fault. Sauce/Gravy is better. Nice garlic, less sugary. More herbaceous. Perfectly salted. I now believe this crust beats all of the area competition and since I spend a week in Brooklyn per month, perhaps beats a lot of them as well. It's amazing! read more

It had been years since I have ordered here. Previous owners did a great job prior to Covid. Then was takeout only for a long time and I lost interest when I couldn't see the staff that was working there. I ordered the family size Greek pizza which was amazing from the previous owners. Unfortunately it's no longer the same. The toppings were abundantly offered however the Spinach was put on under the cheese and made the center of this large pie really undercooked and unappetizing. I love garlic but this pie had way too much. I hate to ding anyone for abundantly adding toppings but this and the spinach ruined this offering for me. read more

Do -NOT- deal with the owner. The -STAFF- has been -GREAT-. The owner has been a pia when asking for any variance from the standard menu when the staff has been great with dealing with our Keto diet. We are local so when we call in and get the owner, we hang up and wait and call back until we get someone else who we tip -really- well for having to deal with the owner. read more

You need to go to the counter to order but no one tells you that, you just figure it out after sitting for a while. We're told they had no medium size pizzas so we ordered a plain small but received a chicken bbq pizza. Since we already cut it up when we noticed and we're hungry just ate it. Wasn't too bad but regular would have been better. Limited drinks available in their coolers and no juice for kids. The "open carry" law was a bit concerning to see from one of the "cooks". Since I was one of the only places in town even open on a Tuesday night happy to have been fed but would not go back to eat. Would consider takeout. read more

We were running a little late as our plan was to see The Last Jedi at the Springfield Cinema. We were hungry and decided that Village Pizza was our stop. The employees were nice, informed, and very serious on the quality of their Pizza. I love that Loyalty and Pride! The pizza was better than most in the area, and now qualifies as a Back up Pizza place for me. Great atmosphere, too! read more

Just checked into the Hartness House and this is about the only place in town that delivers. Can't speak to the pizza but their pasta and sausage dinner entree was the bomb! The salad and garlic bread was just average... but seriously loved the pasta. It's a lot of food! I'm from L.A. and a month ago had the famous $24 spaghetti (linguine) at Scarpetta in Beverly Hills which is served a la carte and is about 1/5th the amount of pasta... and I liked Village Pizza's MUCH better! Great value on the pasta dinners. Also ordered the Greek salad for the next day's lunch as there's a $15 minimum and it was good. Plenty of feta cheese, olives and other goodies. Prepackaged creamy Greek dressing. I'll be back in Springfield and can't wait to try the pizza and other menu items. 5 stars for the pasta, 3 stars for the other items so I give this place 4 stars. 4/7/15 My 2nd visit here I had the sausage and peppers sandwich. We're from Los Angeles California but I was born in Springfield Vermont and we recently spent time, my sister and I did in New England. one night we had pizza from this restaurant oh my gosh to say this pizza is unbelievably the best pizza we've ever had is an understatement who would've thought that in a small town in Vermont I would have better pizza than I've ever had in Los Angeles. We ordered it and my sister went to pick it up because we were going to Hagrid at the hotel because we were beat after the day. I was only going to have maybe one piece or maybe two I ended up eating four pieces and then a couple hours later had two more it was unbelievable I've never eaten so much pizza and one night ever. I have what you call very low appetite and I'm extremely picky eater. So if I tell you this pizza is amazing you need to go there now and eat. read more

This experience was the worst. My wife and I walked in, looked at the menus, and ordered our take out. We sat at our booth waiting for our pizza and ziti. And waited, and waited. I finally went up there after twenty minutes and our food was ready and had been waiting. They did not see the need to tell us our food was ready. When we first arrived we were pleased with the friendly young people at the counter. We asked about ordering cheesy fries and the guy had said sure and put cheese on them. We sat in a booth and waited while listening to the manger(?) scream about some older woman's order she was sitting with, not the most pleasant thing. We got our food and everything was standard. At the very end of our meal the manger(?) came up to us and said that "if we ever came back and ordered cheesy fries it wouldn't happen again." She said the guy at the counter shouldn't have done that and her husband wouldn't have liked it. We felt that it was very unnecessary to approach us about that as it as matter that should stay behind the counter and policy should be communicated to staff not customers. The owner was rude and short tempered as we ordered. Several people came in to do pick ups after we placed our order. So when we asked for our drinks we were told they were busy and we needed to wait. We waited 20 mins before we had to ask again to get our drinks. During this time I sat at my table watching the employees leaning against the counter eating and talking. We got mozz sticks, antipasto and wings as an app. All of them came after the pizza was already on the table. The pizza was not what we ordered. The mozzarella was still cold inside. The salad was not chopped with a slice of lunch meat and cheese on top. Even after we brought it to the owners attention we were brushed off. Traveling from New Hampshire back to New York, we were looking for a place to stop and we went to Springfield Village Pizza. Being New Yorkers we take our pizza seriously. This was not the absolute best pizza I ever had, but it was good. We bought the 18" with mushrooms and olives. The pizza came to the table hot and looked delicious, Good layer of cheese, sauce and enough toppings. An overall good value. What impressed me was the pizza maker. He took pride in his work and when I complimented him on the pie, he told me they made the pizza sauce fresh everyday. He took pride in his product. He gets a thumbs up for me. read more

9pm in Ludlow Vermont. Despite several local pizza joints listing that that are open until 10pm, they are not. In a quest for food we drive 25 minutes to Village Pizza in Springfield. The staff were wonderful and it was that fact alone that made me hesitant to write a review. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. We received a large pepperoni with cheese. However the pizza was dark brown, with crispy near burnt cheese. While I am aware there are folks out there that love this burnt browned cheese taste reminiscent of a cheez it, but I am not one of them. Thankfully the pizza trip was due to my boyfriends crazing of pizza and not my own. Because the pizza was that dark that I would not have been able to eat it and enjoy it. If I had been hungry, which thankfully I was not, this pizza would have ruined my night and probably made me cry, especially after a nearly hour round trip. However my boyfriend still enjoyed the pizza and I enjoyed the kindness of the staff. For that they still get 4 stars. But I felt I would be doing the yelp users a diservice if I did not warn about the overcooked pizza. Unfortunately this was our one and only trip so I do not know if this is the norm or perhaps a mishap and one time occurrence. But if you are like me and prefer your cheese bubbly and lightly colored and not dark brown, it can't hurt to mention it when you order. read more
