The view is to die for as are the Lobster Rolls. Visiting 38° is worth the effort. More on that below. But let's talk lobster. This was one of the BEST lobster rolls we've had and the view is spectacular. See the pictures! It had to be a half pound of claw and tail, just enough mayo to hold it together and seasoned perfectly all served on a toasted brioche style split roll. Superb! Could not finish it all - had to take half home. DELISH. Now....here's why I took off a STAR ....they do NOT serve Pinot Grigio. Wait, what? How? Why? It's a summer place! My Mom was almost walked out! LOL Dad was also kinda bummed they didn't serve San Pellegrino water or Perrier -- but he settled for club soda. My Orange Crush was awesome. Service was great! Don't take the bad service reviews to heart, sometimes servers are over worked and it's a hard job. Tip well for good karma! How to find this elusive but worth the drive waterside spot. Go into the Bayside complex off of 54 past Harris Teeter and start following the white directional signs to 38°. It's gonna be a lot of twists and turns but totally worth it. read more

The view is beautiful and the place definitely has potential. Unfortunately, the experience was spoiled by the bar service. When my wife first arrived and sat at the bar, neither of the two female bartenders acknowledged her--they were eating with their backs to the customers and seemed to pick and choose who they wanted to serve. She wasn't the only one being ignored. Oddly, when I walked in, we were suddenly able to get service. It came across less like being busy and more like a control issue, which felt unprofessional. We moved to a table for dinner, and the food was actually pretty good. Still, the bar staff left a very negative impression with their rude behavior. Because of that, I did not tip them well, which is unusual for me as I'm normally a generous tipper. Management really needs to address the bartender situation, because it takes away from what could otherwise be a great spot. read more

Good spot for drinks and some casual dinner by the water if you are staying in the Bayside complex. Food is mainly fish focused, rolls, tacos, burgers. Nice views and some games for kids. Also can take a stroll by the pier or down the wooden pier. read more

Came here for dinner with the family. Heard how laid back it was and off the beaten path. As a local I am looking for places that are quiet and has less tourists. Our first impression was it was a really cool chill place. Right on the water with a great atmosphere. Even though it's a bar/restaurant it is kid friendly. The food selection was very limited. A few appetizers only and sandwiches. No kids menu either. The Cesar salad with chicken was decent. Nothing over the top. The tuna tacos were the same. Just ok. The cheeseburger was over cooked but since it took forever to get the food we didn't complain about it. The service was very slow. Maybe they were understaffed. Our waitress was very nice though. Overall we really liked the atmosphere and would give it another try only because of this and the price was decent too. I hope it gets better. read more

Service was horrible we sat at the bar. I've never been to a place were the bartenders were eating behind the bar and the GM spraying bug spray all over the place while people were eating and drinking. Bartenders seems to act like we were bothering them. When you come into a new restaurant it's normal for the bartenders to come up and say hello welcome in have you been here before what would you like to drink... nope not here. After sitting at the bar for a good 10 minutes she came over and what do you want... Food came out 4/10 for the quality. Got the fish tacos and ahi tuna salad. Best thing about this place is the view and that's a shame. Total miss on the service and food. read more

Loved this place until yesterday. As the four of us pulled up to dock in our pontoon boat to have lunch we were told we were not permitted to dock until after 3:00 pm, because, the kayak rental operation takes precedence! And after June 15, kayaks are rented until 6:00 pm. We were told that we could anchor around the point and wade in but it is difficult enough navigating through the shallows to get to the dock that we said screw it and went to Harpoon Hannahs! I have nothing against kayaks and have one myself, personally I prefer to launch from the shore, not a dock. Why can't we all coexist? read more

This restaurant is newer to the community so it wasn't mobbed like a lot of other restaurants in the area. It was quaint & was right in the bay overlooking Ocean City. The decor was strange because they had nice lounge chairs and bar high tops but then for dining it was picnic tables. The food was so so. For a starter, I ordered a crab cake. Now I am from from New England so if this was served up there, it would be considered excellent. However this is right on the border of Maryland so the crab cake was just average if you compare it to other crab cakes at other restaurants in the area. For my main, I ordered a burger and it was pretty good. My philosophy on burgers is that it's pretty hard to mess one up, so the fact they cooked it how I liked it isn't that impressive. Overall, I think this place needs to establish itself a little more & work out the kinks to be successful. read more

Cute bar and restaurant on the water! We came on a Sunday evening and it was a great casual outdoor vibe. Our service was fast and the waiter was kind and attentive. The menu was a bit limited but still had enough options for dietary restrictions in my group. If you come on a Sunday night you can see fireworks from Northside Park across the water! read more

The perfect setting and atmosphere for a beach bar without the gimmicks and crowds. Tried this place last night hoping that we could get away from the tourist traps and experience the beach like the locals. This place surpassed my expectations. The staff here treated us like we belonged and were super friendly, they did their best to ensure that we had a fun experience. It's located directly on the water and has a wonderful view of OC across the bay. I would rate this place 5 stars, but the menu is limited to wings, hamburgers and sandwiches only. I stayed at a house at the Bayside Selbyville Resort. I came here on my last night of my stay and I was very impressed by this restaurant. I got the old bay wings as an appetizer and I really enjoyed them. For my main course, I got the blackened rockfish tacos. The seasoning on the fish was good and the slaw that came with it was nice. My waitress was very nice and very attentive. You gotta come here! read more

Cool little spot if you can find it. Unfortunately if you are just finding it you will feel a bit out of place. This is more of a "locals bar" for the very nice community it is located within. Don't think this means you are not welcome, just know everyone else there knows each other. But plenty of nice people will soon make you feel like you too are almost home. The view is great looking back across the bay at OC. There are some corn hole boards to play on and the wait staff, once you get their attention is polite, but as is the case with most beachfront establishments the sand seems to make everything slow down a bit. "Island Time". Drinks are reasonable and food appears to be good and also reasonably priced. Now that we know about it, and realize we have some friends in the community we will head back. If you are considering 38 Degrees for drinks or food, go elsewhere. I have been a homeowner in Bayside since 2009 and the one thing that I can count on is terrible service at this bar ever since it has opened. The bartenders have their local favorites here that are catered to without much care for the other paying patrons. You want to order a drink or some food? You will be flagging down one of the 3-4 bartenders for attention meanwhile the bar is only roughly 12'x12.' No excuse for inattentiveness. I counted 2 different Managers on shift today that leaned on high tops from a distance, played on their phones, while my drink sat empty and loose trash/empty cups blew off of the bar several times. When ordering my 2nd drink, I requested an orange crush. I watched the bartender use a spoon to remove a bug from my drink while 2 other patrons watched him, he strained it, then served it to me. The bar is outdoors I understand that but unprofessional nonetheless - toss the drink, make a new one. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was comparable to 4th quarter bathrooms at an NFL stadium; toilet paper, paper towels & sand scattered and stuck to the bathroom floor, toilet, and sink. Meanwhile 3 busboys/universal workers stood idle near the hostess stand for 20+mins instead of cleaning; poor management. For a bar/restaurant in one the best rated resort living communities on the East Coast, this place is a disappointment. I will take my money and spend it at other local bars such as Harpoon Hannah's before I will spend money here again. Not to mention bartenders pulling masks down below their faces to speak to their favorite patrons. I often have guests travel with me to Bayside and I will not be embarrassed by bringing them to a place with poor service, lack of attention, and carelessness towards paying patrons. The Point at Bayside (where 38 Degrees is located) offers beautiful views and a great setting but the bar staff makes this an unappealing place, it's a shame. I have given 38 Degrees a chance several times over the past 2yrs. and the bar staff remains the same, inattentive. If you want to deal with lazy bartenders that make you feel like an outsider, go to 38 Degrees Bayside. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I will never go back after being treated so poorly by the manager and bar staff. I understand that things are different and difficult operating a bar during Covid, but the disregard and lack of respect for my 91 year old Mother is inexcusable. Beginning with our arrival, we ordered drinks at the walk up bar and were asked abruptly and unkindly by the manager "Patty", to exit the restaurant area while we waited for a table. After a 20 min wait we were offered a high top instead of a table and agreed to try to make that a comfortable option for my Mom. As we waited for service, we noticed 2 bar stools available nearby, and decided to take them to perhaps get faster service from the bar waitstaff who neglected us at the high top. The manager Patty rudely objected to our taking a bar seat and sent us back to the high top ( which by the way was a four top at a ledge surrounding a pole support). At this point I was very disturbed that we were again made to feel like we were not welcome.Apparently a request to change seats even to an empty bar seat, was not cool with the manager. After expressing that my Mom would be more comfortable, they agreed to allow us to sit at the bar instead. We ordered, and our food came by means of a very disgruntled female bartender who never asked if I needed condiments for my burger, or if we needed something to drink. The entire period of time that we ate at the bar, we were never asked if we needed anything. I never had a drink with my dinner. It was difficult to get their attention even to pay the bill. I would never return to a restaurant after being treated in this way. I am a local who works for a local business in Selbyville and Rehoboth. I will be sure to relate this experience to my coworkers. read more

First off, what a view! My wife and I wanted a relaxing Monday dinner and 38 Degrees Bayside delivered. We're not fortunate enough to live in Bayside however it is open to anyone willing to take a leisurely drive to the southeast section of the community. It's all outdoor seating so if it's inclement weather, look elsewhere. The menu is brief but covers all the bases. My wife ordered the Berries and Blue salad topped with a crab cake and I the Jerk Chicken salad. For a starter we had steamed shrimp. Everything was fresh and delicious, our bartenders friendly, attentive and engaging. We're thankful to have 38 Degrees just a few minutes from our home! read more
