Scallops in Lobster Sauce! That is 90% of what you need to know about this place. The Scallops in Lobster Sauce is the best dang dish I've eaten all year. I don't know what kind of witchcraft they use to make those little babies so tender and sweet and buttery, and that creamy lobster sauce so absolutely irresistible, and I don't think it's my right to know. But they are a gift from the humble kitchen of 390 Main Street and I will praise them as I should! Ok - if you need to know more... We tried this place for the first time yesterday and upon taking a seat at the bar, I thought it felt a bit dive-y and really not sure what to expect. The staff is nice enough. There's definitely a good-old-boys-club vibe here. The menu is paper and looooong. But! One bite of those scallops and I totally got it. I understood the whole place and while it's not fine dining, it fits the price point and the promise of excellent seafood. We also tried the clam cakes - tasty, super crispy exterior and tender inside. Tasty tartar to accompany. The coconut shrimp was fun and sweet and crispy. It was recommended to us to return for the seafood chowder which I'm very excited for! Its a cute little spot worth the visit for the food alone.

We have a camp in maine at USM and then after the camp we go eat lobster here usually 3-4 people and its is amazing! This time we had 3 people and we all had the "twin lobster" which is 2 lobster (one is posted below). The food and service was amazing and the food came fast my brother didn't know how to eat to the waitress helped him! The ambiance is extreme nice!

This is the wall the table was attached to.. it was filthy. I did bring it to the waitresses attention so it can be cleaned

There is a lot to choose from on the menu. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was ok. My photo is of the wall next to the table.. it was filthy and I did bring it to the waitresses attention . It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. Just saying. I won't be back , there's too many other great seafood restaurants around.

Good steak with 8 dry green beans and potato.

Good Maine food, salad bar, solid drinks, and friendly staff service. The bar area is a great spot for local hangouts with lots of monitors for sports broadcast and is almost always full - while the restaurant maintains a family atmosphere. Favorite spot for the older local crowd as well. Good food, decent price. Tonight we had seafood: braised scallop Caesar salad and bake stuffed salmon. Both very flavorful and delicious. Friendly staff and local folks abound. If you're in town and are looking for a good home-style dinner or lunch ... THIS is the place!

3 lobsters for $19.99 - wow what a bargain. Salad bar was very poor, but the rest of the food was really good.

We booked a reservation and mentioned it being an anniversary for reasoning and they had a note at our table when we got sat down. It was a great little touch service wise that we appreciated. Which service wise our server was extremely friendly and explained specials and checked on us the right amount. Food and drink wise we started off with some cocktails to kick off our celebrating. My wife got the Blueberries & Bubbly which was blueberry infused Tito's and Prosecco with lemon and basil simple. It was a tasty drink, while I got their Strawberry-Jalapeño Margarita that was decent. It was quite strong booze wise and had a good strawberry flavor but lacked the heat I expected and had more of a pepper vegetal flavor. I would likely grab a different drink next time. We also got complimentary bread with olive oil, it was good. Then appetizer wise we wanted their Tomato & Basil Bruschetta that was fantastic! Lastly entree wise we were both wanting some pasta and settled on my wife getting Rigatoni Bolognese and me Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. The bolognese had a hearty sauce with a lot of depth of flavor thanks to beef and sausage and smoked bacon. The entree size was perfect amount for my wife. My gnocchi mac had a lot of crispy pork belly that was the second star of the dish after the well cooked gnocchi. I would say I'm not the average person portion wise so my words may not speak for many but I do wish the entree size portion for my dish was larger. Then to finish of our night we grabbed their peach and blueberry crisp for dessert. It was tasty with vanilla ice cream served beside it but both my wife and I wished it had more crumble or crisp to it. Overall though great dinner and we will keep this spot in mind for future meals. Worth checking out if you want a nice meal close to Portland but not in Portland.

This is my second visit to Junction Bowl…read more I just popped in after a full day at work for Apps and a Brew. I was able to get a spot out front, plenty of street parking with no fees, and walked right in. Staff is friendly and prompt. I was able to just mozy up to the bar. Bar tender was prompt, took my order and I had a frosty drink in less than a minute. Ordered fried pickles and they were out in about three sips of my Pumpkinhead. They have a huge variety of draft, cans and plenty of alcohol to choose from. This includes, cider and GF options from lucky pigeon. The fried pickles are crispy, and the dip enhances the taste of the fried pickles. The full bar has seating on three sides and there are TVs everywhere you look. We are in the same room as the bowling lanes and there are twelve of them. There is seating in a separate room if you want. All in all a friendly, comfortable place to sit and rest your feet. She didn't seem thrilled to be there and every other worker we interacted with sucked too. Everyone seemed snobby which is the opposite of what I want to experience on a first visit somewhere. We were told which late to go to the booth and table was dirty. We looked around to make sure we went to the right lane, almost all of the tables were dirty. We were at the right lane. An hour ish in, we finally got waited on and we finally got our food which was just a buffalo tender basket for us to share and we planned on getting more food. The tenders were good! We waited around for someone to come over so we could order more and it took so long we ended up just leaving and going somewhere else. But the tenders were good. Whole place extremely pricey though. Wouldn't recommend. I feel like my 2 star rating is pretty generous lol.

The beef was tender, flavorful, and piled just right, with plenty of sauce to make every bite satisfying without being too much. The onion rings were a standout--crispy, golden, and clearly homemade, with great seasoning and a fresh taste you do not get everywhere. This was one of those simple, classic meals done really well. Good portions, great flavor, and exactly the kind of local spot you hope to find when you are in town. I would gladly order this again.

What I opened up was two super beef sandwiches that were well done, flavorless & not rare like they should be. A north shore 4 way sandwich should never be well done. I'm more than pissed,I just spent $60.00 plus an $9.00 tip. The only good part of my order was the very kind woman who took my order. I'm expecting a refund on my sandwiches that clearly should have been rare not well done. I'll be calling George & to express my disappointment. I've eaten north shore 4 ways probably a dozen times from multiple restaurants. Never once until today has the roast beef been nothing but a perfect rare. After driving 40 minutes we arrived 10 minutes early as they don't open until 430; no problem ,they saw us in the parking lot and waved us in. Unusual as most places guard the door to the second. They sat us immediately, and introduced us to our server Alyssa ,who turned out to be the most knowledgeable , professional person we have ever met. And we have been dining out and working in the industry for many years! The fun began; my wife ordered her Filet Mignon and I asked Alyssa what she recommended , shocking me she said The Skirt Steak with marbled potatoes with the empanadas as an appetizer. I was certain she would have said the Porterhouse or Tomahawk to upsell us but she was spot on as it was incredibly tender and flavorful . In summary it was the most delightful fine dining experience we have ever enjoyed! Thank you Alyssa and your incredible chefs and fellow servers for unforgettable 56 anniversary dinner!

We wanted to try a little bit of everything, so decided on the mixed grill for 2, with mashed potatoes and fires on the side. We started with the focaccia bread and oil dressing that were very good. We also got the enchiladas, one spicy cheese and the other beef. These were okay, nothing crazy but enjoyable. However, the mixed grill was simply not worth the money. The sausage was over cooked, strip steak flavorless and the long short ribs were tough. The chicken was okay, but nothing better than anywhere else I've had grilled chicken before. Our waitress Jennifer was amazing. And when she asked how our experience was, she could see by the lack of food we had eaten, and the expression on my face, we were not impressed. We ended our meal with the tres leches cake that was very good. Overall, this place is a gimmicky tourist trap that over charges for their "atmosphere" and prays you get drunk off their $250 wine before you order. I thought for sure it would be decent, and was wrong. I would hate to see the quality in peak tourist season. Leaving hungry was not something I imagined.
