our oder was semi cold (open faced turkey)when served. nothing was cooked properly, and that is a laugh because all food is the re-heat kinda cooking. pathetic for sure. my hubby's fish and chips....more batter on the fish than the under cooked fish. It is a wonder we did not get ill from the low temperature of the food. Someone needs to re- check the Serve Safe Rules. so sorry to write this review. i wanted a good comforting meal. read more

Me and my girlfriend thought we'd try something different for lunch. I'll be straight to the point and say this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Maine. We walked in and we sat up at the bar and the place is very quiet but with 3 other people. One person working on the front end. I found the service we got was SOOO disappointing that even Gordon Ramsey would throw a fit. Also the food quality just seems to be cheap and pathetic as well. Small portions to value was expensive. Taken such a long time to have the meals come out and the meal was just so boring. The waiter/bartender didn't check up how the meals were and she was too busy talking about her personal life to the regulars while eating at the bar. Not something I want to hear you have thyroid issues etc. Also when we completed the meals she seen us finished but didn't take the plates away. Just doing her own thing talking to other customers. So over all I have waited to check out over 15 minutes while she's having ideal chat with regulars to check out. I was close to snapping to say I would like to leave. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I ordered the fried clams to go. I wanted my fries extra crispy. Everything was cooked perfect and was super delicious! Came with bread, which was very, very good-warm and perfect texture, not dry. Also came with coleslaw, which was very fresh and seasoned great. Portion size was generous. I didn't stay to eat but looked around while I waited. I've been in there before but not for a while, and the decor had changed for the better. Original artwork at the booths and creative repurposed hanging lamps at the booths as well. Looks nice. The hostess was a sweetheart. Definitely will visit again! read more

The seafood, steaks, Italian food and all amazing. I love the pizza as well. Parking is easy and plentiful. This is my first time visiting this establishment, but it definitely won't be my last! First, as a summer Maine visitor it can be challenging to find a restaurant without an hour wait. In just a few minutes, they were able to accommodate our party of 8! Everyone at our table was pleased with their food. Portions were plentiful! The pizza was the perfect size for 2 people to share. I also had the onion rings which were the best I've ever had. They were made from thin slices of the freshest sweet onions. So yummy! Others enjoyed cheeseburgers and club sandwiches. I stumbled into Bridgeway on a chilly evening for an early dinner. The place was deserted at 4:30, but by 5 the bar was packed. I happened to be the youngest person in there by about 40 years. The ambiance is a bit depressing, but the menu is reasonably priced for large portions of standard fare, seafood and sandwiches. My one complaint about the food (I had the haddock chowder and the calamari caesar) was underseasoning, but it's to be expected at a place that caters to the early-bird crowd, I suppose. My big issue was the service. My waitress had a horrible attitude and had the distinct impression that she hated her job, and possibly her life. After I had finished my soup she came over with some bread and butter and flippantly remarked that she should have brought it sooner. No big deal, I laughed it off. But as soon as she set down my entree she promptly forgot about me. Literally. Luckily I had a book with me, but 20 minutes after finishing my salad she was still no where to be seen. Finally I got up in search of the bathroom and when I returned she eventually came over with the check, revealing that she had in fact forgotten about me because I was "so quiet." I'm sitting there reading a book, I am not a ghost! Granted, the room did fill up a bit during the course of my meal, but really?! Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

When they used to serve fresh fish, this was a good deep fried fish joint. They charge far more than that type of restuarant though, and on most recent visits the fish, clams etc. have been off, and yet more expensive. Service is always sketchy, which can be charming if you have time to kill. Total dive in atmosphere, but it really is a bar in restaurant clothing: it has a regular crowd liking the bar more than the food, and who can blame them? read more

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday afternoon and had the worse meal of our lives. The baked haddock dinner was soaked in some kind of wine sauce and the portion size was very small and it tasted terrible. My husband ordered the seafood platter, it had only 5 clams a small piece of frozen fish and quite a few shrimp that were the size of a small fingernail. Needless to say we will never return And will tell who ever asks. read more
