    Lobster roll.
    Christopher C.

This place underwhelmed. I ordered the fried scallops and got six puffy, over-salted pieces. The scallop on the inside was about half the size of what you can see. Tartar sauce had no flavor. She liked the lobster roll. A few weeks before we ate at the Back Eddy in Westport, Mass. which kicks Stern's ass. Noisy, but our waitress, Erin, was terrific. Not a good bang for the buck. You can find better seafood elsewhere.

We're from Cape Cod now living in Florida and Georgia. We loved this place. It was the best seafood we've had since leaving the Cape years ago. Best clam chowda and lobster bisque in the area. We tried them all this week. Clams, scallops, haddock and lobster rolls with hot butter were outstanding. Thank you Josh for great service! Go here first. And second and third. We're told by relatives that this is where the locals go.

Such a great find! With so many options in the area we just took a shot and scored! The Clam Chowder was absolutely delicious and I loved how they put a few little neck (clams) on top! So yummy! I had the double lobster roll and omg it was out of this world. Had a great view and the ambiance was so peaceful. We will definitely be back next month!

What a nice down to earth place to relax with some friends or family. I really like the use of the bow end of a boat as the bar! Definitely fits with the waterfront view of the Nonesuch River. For food I got 1/2 dozen oysters with a champagne mignonette & shared the Caesar salad with shrimp....both were very good. The drinks were good. Our server was prompt and friendly. Price wise for food & drinks it was quite affordable. I give 4 stars as a 1st visit being we chatted with a few other barflys who also mentioned that they luv the place...good food, good drinks, good service & affordable. So give the Stern a try & Enjoy!

Right on the pier, you can absolutely taste how fresh everything is here. A beautiful view of the water, and plenty of delicious seafood selections to choose from. I went with the lobster bisque to start, which was absolutely delicious, and topped with plenty of delicious lobster. For my meal I had to try the lobster roll, which was absolutely huge! It was just as delicious as it was large. It would have been the perfect meal, until the waitress spilled ketchup all over my new white shoes and jeans. I was less than amused at that point, especially regarding the lack of trying to help fix the situation at all. Sadly, I spent a good portion of our trip trying to get the stains out following this incident.

This restaurant is a small little place I would want to say on a loading doc? My family came here bc they wanted to go crabbing for some baby crabs in the water.. while they did that a few of us went inside to eat. We ordered a few things and nothing really hit the spot for us. Everything was cold and bland. We barely ate our food snd just packed it to go as I didn't not want to complain.

Off the beaten path, but definitely need a reservation. Casual yet not necessarily a beach bar or clam shack either. Full bar, quality meals, moderate pricing, ASTOUNDING views of the mouth of the marsh at Pine Point. Quick service even in a packed house. We can be choosy; my mother the lobster roll expert didn't think hers was "flavorful" enough. Also be sure to ask for your salad dressing on the side, there was a soaking that covered up any taste of the vegetables. Crab cakes snd mussels were exceptional, and though we didn't have dessert tonight, word on the street was the blueberry cake is outstanding.

Stern is a cute seafood restaurant in Maine. The menu is on the smaller side and has a lot of great options. There's something for everyone. Outside there is seating as well as a boardwalk overlooking a marsh and the ocean. I caught the sunset with some friends after eating dinner and it was so nice. The vibes are great. The bar is really cool too. Made out of the stern of an old ship. I would recommend ordering the oysters. They were delicious and super fresh. Loved the fries and lobster roll too. Cant go wrong!

Would this restaurant be accessible for a person using a wheelchair?

There are a couple of steps into the dining room. I don't recall if the outside deck has steps. Best to give them a call.

While out for a drive with my husband, we decided to make a quick stop for some clam cakes. The place has changed SO MUCH since I had been there last, now with a cute little bar and outdoor seating - truly, it is really inviting space. Unfortunately, the food was a flop. We ordered bay scallops (greasy), 2 clam cakes (undercooked/mushy) and onion rings (this was the clear winner of the meal) and sat outside to enjoy and each ordered a cocktail from the bar. GOOD STUFF: The outdoor seating, the view and the drinks. The onion rings were really good too. BAD STUFF: The clam cakes were really bad - we ended up throwing these out. The middle of the cake was gummy/raw/mushy and just gross. The bay scallops heavy and greasy, even with a light breading it was just overpowering such a tender, small scallop. I am guessing they are using dirty or old oil and it was not to temp. Really disappointing so spend that much and have it be awful. One star for the view and the rings. Sadly, we won't return and would not recommend.

This place stands out for its FOOD. Four of us went, I got the fried clams. Not clam strips, but the juicy, delectable, flavorful whole clams that include the belly (and probably other untoward clammy organs). I asked two ladies in line behind me if I wanted the regular batter or the crumb batter; they convinced me that the crumb was the right choice. They were absolutely right. If I remembered their names I would have given them both a shout out for setting me on the right path. The portion size was more than I could eat even though I did not want to stop enjoying those fabulous bivalves. If evolution had spent another billion years on these creatures it could not be possible to make them better. Perhaps proof of divine creation comes not from the written texts but from the hand of a being so beyond understanding that it vexes mankind accordingly so. Whether you call them Ipswich or Nannynose, Hen Clams or Poquauhocks, make your way to Ken's and find out just how much the human touch can bring to the humble clam. Bar is great, had their Bloody Mary which went perfectly with the clams. The servers are terrific. Tip them generously so that they may remember you as well as you will remember those glorious clams.
