I'll start out with I love the food and drinks and I've been going here for 15+ years. Today I ordered the same sandwich and drink I always get. Power protein sandwich w egg avocado and turkey. The sandwich was picked up by my gf and I opened it and there was no egg. I thought "no problem I live close, I will just call and let them know so I can go back and pick up a correctly made sandwich. I called and the manager answered. I explained there was no egg and she immediately told me i was not correct and she started questioning employees while still on the phone. She told me they put it on and I was wrong and that I need to bring her the sandwich and "prove it" to her. I said on my way. I went up to front counter and gave her the sandwich. She comes back a couple minutes later saying she looked at the cameras and saw them making my order with egg and accused me of taking the egg off and coming back for a free egg. I told her are you kidding me i came back to have my sandwich made correctly and if I wanted an egg i have a bunch at home. She responded with "then you should've made a sandwich at home and not came here" I was shocked ! She then asked if the other sandwich that my gf got had eggs and I said it had plenty of egg. She then looked back at her employees and asked if they accidentally put double eggs in one sandwich. I then asked "you just said you looked at cameras and saw they put eggs in each sandwich but now you are not sure again?" She didn't know what to say besides telling me that I took the egg out myself and brought it back. Unbelievable! I asked her to do what she felt was right and if that is to give me the sandwich w no egg back I would leave. She remade the sandwich and told me at the end "if I check the cameras and I see them put egg would I come and apologize to her?" I said you ALREADY said you checked the cameras MULTIPLE TIMES!!!! lol what a joke that manager is. As I was leaving I told the employees that I am sorry for coming back and if I can leave a tip for making them remake my sandwich and if the tip goes to them. They responded yes. I left a 20$ bill in the tip jar. The manager comes out of side and grabs the 20 and says " I don't want your tip" I said. " it's not for you it's for them " and I walked out Overall great food and drinks but sadly their manager treated me like trash and had terrible customer service. Really disappointing. read more

My experience here was awful. Forgot about Mr drink as I sat in front of them and waited 15 minutes. I believe it was intentional as they smiled as I waited. read more

I absolutely love the owners here! I used to come to this spot when I was younger & the vibe of the place is still the same. We don't have many mama and pop coffee shops in Downey so it's beautiful they are still up in service. The items were tasty just like I remember them! read more

I wanted to try a new place and I came across this little cafe. The staff is nice and attentive and the place is small yet comforting. I had the protein sandwich and it is loaded with flavors. Cozy little spot for a quick coffee and bite to eat. Their pesto sandwich or BLT's are always so good! I enjoy their matcha as well, but definitely on the sweet side! There have been times I've ordered from here with coworkers and some items were missing and made wrong, but they've always been very accommodating. Things happen, I'm glad they're always more than happy to fix mistakes and try to make it up for us! read more

I am so happy I came across this coffee shop!! It's so cute. We got 3 drinks - an iced vanilla thunder, an iced dulce de leche latte, and a hazelnut macchiato. All of them were amazing! The dulce de leche was my favorite though. We also got the protein bagel on a jalapeño bagel. It was also delicious and really big! The bagel seemed super fresh. I cannot wait to come back to try more drinks and the other bagel sandwiches! I also loved that the owner was there and taking orders. It shows how much she cares about her business. read more

My Favorite coffee shop! I highly recommend the egg protein sandwich or chicken pesto sandwich, so juicy!

Haven't been there in person but I've ordered the brownie frapp and omg it legit taste like a brownie! It was soooo good. One complaint I do have is everything is very sweet. I also got the Boston cream pie and it was delicious and the cookies are huge and tasty. read more

Maybe it's because it's New Year's Eve or we just got two workers that were upset to be working on New Year's Eve, but super uncool that they didn't tell us our drinks were ready. We were waiting at least 15 mins till we finally went up and asked for our drinks. The whole time the workers saw us waiting for our drinks and never did they tell us they were ready. What is it about this place that warrants it? Well, almost everything, but especially the warm, efficient, friendly service I've always found. 3rd Street Coffee is a coffee house, and then some. You'll find a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, pastries/desserts, and made-to-order sandwiches. They even have ice cream! I really enjoyed my Chicken Chipotle Sandwich and a Passion Tea Lemonade on my last visit. Highly, highly recommended! read more

Great place for a quick bite or a nice cup of coffee. I usually stop by whenever I'm going to the theater across the street for a quick bit before a showing. Sometimes they get a little busy and fall behind, luckily the theater is reserved seating, but go ahead of time or you might be cutting it close to the start of the film (I've only been late once {commercials had already ended} by like 2-5 mins.) This last time I went, I had the chicken breast deluxe panini (no mustard, no pickles) it was delicious! Dad had a tuna sandwich (he enjoyed it very much). We shared a delightful slice of carrot cake! It wasn't overly sweet like others I've tried, not sure if it was made in-house (If it was, I'm gonna buy a whole cake next time I need one ) Service is usually wonderful, the staff knows their stuff and are very open about making changes/ substitutions or even creating something new just for you (like an iced hot chocolate). {If the owner is there, things might be a little different. Staff kinda walks on eggshells when they're around.} Overall still a great spot for a quick lunch/ snack or drink. read more

First time going to this coffee shop. I got the panini chicken deluxe it was delicious. I also got a hot latte but it was barely warm, The employee that took our order was nice and helpful, I didn't say anything about the latte because they seemed busy. I walked in twice to grab the order and get a bag, the employee giving out the orders was not very nice I thanked her on both occasions and she didn't even look at me. Small mom and pop coffee shop. Also has breakfast sandwiches as well as regular sandwiches. You can get a bagel w cream cheese and they have cake slices. They have your espressos, machiattos, lates as well as the blended frapps and iced coffees. My go to is their oatmeal with fruit and nuts and a regular coffee. You can choose what kind of bagel you want your breakfast sandwich on or have it on a croissant. Their chicken panninis are also good. I've also had their veggie delight sandwich. Their prices are not bad. What you would expect at a coffee shop. This is a very busy little shop with locals coming in and out even though they are behind Portos bakery. I've seen a couple of Portos workers come in here. Mary the owner will welcome you with a smile as well as her workers if you're in the area. read more

Today I used Spot On for reward points as I usually do and the older female Korean lady that "has worked there for a third of her life" (her words) asked me how many points I had while handing me a new cloth 3rd Street Coffee bag.
