One of my favorite place to go to whenever I visit Medford to hang out with friends. This place has great service and friendly staff.

Sad to see an old favorite has really fallen on hard times. We have always loved their food, especially the fries and other appetizers. Today the service was very lackluster even though they weren't busy. We asked for a few minutes to look over the menu and the waitress forgot to come back for our order. We had to go find her to get our order submitted. The sweet potato fries came out hard and crunchy, tasting like raw sweet potatoes. We sent them back and they returned brown and tasting mostly like oil. They were basically inedible and the waitress who brought them back didn't even bother to ask if they were better the second time or why they ended up pushed to the side and uneaten. The salads were good but it is hard to ruin a salad. I have to agree with the others who said they would be passing on returning to this pub. This place used to be amazing but went there recently, we were seated, not given silverware, not given water until asked, the place was dead yet we never received these simple things and had to ask. We ordered and the food came out cold and unseasoned. We had to ask for our waters again... still didn't get silverware even though we had our food. How are we suppose to eat our food? We never got our drinks. Walked out. Wouldn't recommend. Has gone down hill majorly. read more

If I could get be them 0 stars, I would. I cannot believe the service we had today!! First we walk in and it is so dark you can't tell if it is full or not. Then we sit by the front door and the waitress comes over and takes our drink order we said water and she yells Water!! Then we get our drinks, menus. Finally 10 minutes later she comes back. We order and also order adult beverages. The beverages come wrong. No apology. We then move to a warmer table. Then we wait, and wait and wait and wait and wait. No one comes over to say sorry for the wait or anything. Really?? In the meantime families come in and sit down and get waited on. Like drinks, appetizers and such. Still we wait. And wait.. finally 61 minutes after we ordered we got our food. And drum roll food , was warm at best. Oh and paying well that was a bit of a wait as well . Will I be back? Hmmm no. This place had great food and great staff. However while my boyfriend and I were enjoying our food, the owner was laying into one of the employees. I've worked at a lot of service jobs, and as far as I could tell the employee was really nice and he wasn't doing anything wrong. Although even if this employee had done something wrong, there was no excuse for how this man spoke to him. At first I thought he was an irate customer; he was so rude and was yelling at this poor guy. This was the OWNER and he literally called this employee a piece of s***. Watching this immediately ruined my appetite and left a bad taste in my mouth. Left a fat tip and will never ever be returning. Classic and delicious Irish pub food. It's a great restaurant/bar with a beautiful bar and friendly staff. You won't be sorry for stopping here while in Medford. You will, however, be very sorry if you try to be healthy and skip the deep fried cheesecake. Yep. You read that correctly. Deep. Fried. Cheesecake. Use to love going to 4 daughters. Have gone there twice in the last 2 months as it was convenient to downtown. The last time we went, we sat directly across the bar at a table. The restaurant had maybe 6 table tops not busy at all for a Halloween weekend night. We found out after 12 minutes of sitting down, that the bartender was our server as we finally waved someone down asking for some menus. The bartender was too busy talking to her coworkers, being on her phone and eating behind the bar... to come take our order. And it's not like she couldn't see us, as there were only 2 people sitting at the bar. Very disappointed!! The food we got was good, but the service sucked!! read more

Typical Irish Pub, with typical Irish Pub fare. Lots of beers on tap, and a cider or two. Friendly, prompt service puts the rating up 1 star. The food was pretty good, especially my wife's Guinness Meat loaf. Not a bad place to grab a meal, and a drink or two. read more

This was our first time here and were excited to give it a try...we won't be back. We walked in, there were only 2 other tables of patrons. There was one female behind the bar, we didn't see a sign that said wait to be seated and the lady behind the bar didn't acknowledge us so we walked in and took a table. 5 minutes later she brought us menus, I ordered wine and my husband coffee...she didn't ask him if he wanted cream and didn't bring any. We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, they came out in a timely fashion, piping hot and looked amazing! We knew they would be hot so wanted to cut them to eat. My husband approached the bar to ask for appetizer plates...the same girl behind the bar was too busy texting on her phone to pay attention to my husband, so he moved in to her peripheral vision and she still did not acknowledge him, so he called over to her and asked her for a couple appetizer plates. Her response was, oh, I don't have those, I don't have those back here. As she is walking toward my husband she says, if they leave you like that again just walk back toward the kitchen and ask them to give you some...we were wondering why she even had to say this and why we should have to go ask for our own plates! She came back, with 1 plate! We just sat there trying not to elbow one another while cutting our delicious mushrooms. My husband ordered fish and chips and I ordered the combo, again delivered by the kitchen. We ask the gentleman what brand of stone Mustard they were serving cuz it was really good! He didn't know but disappeared to the kitchen and came back with a picture of what they are serving, very nice of him and he was extremely polite! The lady behind the bar was leaving the other tables without their bills while she sat at the bar eating and then disappeared... She was lazy, unprofessional and didn't seem thrilled to be doing her job. She made our first experience our last. We were there just after 12pm on Jan 30, 2022, if that helps management with the front of house employee. We know her name, was on our receipt, but won't post it here. Tried their curbside pickup and was less than pleased! Was told a pickup time much later than I needed to leave only to be texted 11 minutes earlier saying my food was ready...I hadn't even left to pick it up only being 5 minutes away. Once I arrived I had to call three different numbers to finally contact someone that I was waiting outside. Needless to say the food was cold by the time I made it home. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service. I had their signature soup. It is a tomato and garlic blend. I am glad I had a bowl. My main meal was the Irish meat loaf. It came with a salad, vegetables, and garlic mash potatoes. Every part of the dish was top notch. The vegetables were not over cooked and fresh. The meat loaf was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was too full for a dessert as they do have some delicious selections. The whole staff that I incountered were all very nice and helpful. I will be back. read more

Just to let everyone know this restaurant does not practice transparency of their hidden service charges. They automatically disguise and hide the fact that they're charging customers and 16% on every bill and then expect the tip on top of that. Not only that, but on the bill they do not make it clear what the percentage is for that charge or where or to who the additional monies are going to. It is simply just listed as Open Food. Went here due to recommendation from Airbnb host. Excited because have loved other Irish pubs but was very disappointed. Got the meatloaf and bangers and mash. Both had powdered mashed potatoes and the gravy was regular packaged brown gravy, not the red wine gravy that was on menu. Bread was a cold slice of French bread with a foil wrapped piece of cold butter on top. Do not recommend this place at all. read more

Had the veggie burger and it was so damn good. Homemade veggie pattys tend to crumble up and be a hit or miss, but they nailed it. The garlic parsley fries are delicious also, and you have to try them with the huckleberry ketchup. It's a little bit on the expensive side, but well worth it. This place is AWESOME!!! I can't speak highly enough of the place. The building and atmosphere is definitely the coolest thing about it; it's close to a hundred years old and used to be an old theater, old hotel, and a few other places I'm sure, making it have a really neat feel, with the hardwood flours and brick walls. They have traditional restaurant seating downstairs, but head upstairs for the best experience. They have a casual dining seating with a bunch of comfy couches and armchairs around little tables, making it perfect for kicking back and enjoying a pint of Guiness and some great food. The food does not disappoint either. At the waiter's suggestion, my boyfriend got the lobster macaroni and cheese, which was a delightful taste experience. I got the Guiness bacon cheese burger. As someone who frequently dines on burgers, the delicious bbq sauce and thick cut bacon made it stand out from it's competitors. Everyone should go there. Everyone. I decide to check out 4 Daughters Irish Pub based on a great recommendation from my client. Didn't really know what to expect, since this is my first time in the area, let alone the state. The downtown area is practically a grid, so it's very easy to get around. I parked on the street with no problem, lots of people out biking and roller skating. To me, a pub has to have a nice, dark, dungeon-like feeling and 4 Daughters delivers on that. What actually struck me was how well they decorated for Halloween. Even my tall, sassy waitress was sporting devils ears and that fit the atmosphere wonderfully. I just grabbed a bar table, since it had a perfect view of one of their many flat-screen TV's(had to get my MNF fix). I had the locally made IPA and ordered their Lobster and Shrimp Mac & Cheese. Yes....you read that right. Let me tell you that this was absolutely delicious. I never would have thought about combining Macaroni & Cheese with ANY sort of crustacean. 4 Daughters made it happen impressively. Too bad I won't be here Halloween night because they seem to be gearing up for a serious party. There weren't many people in the bar that night, which isn't a bad thing. My rating is mainly based on the service I experienced at 4 Daughters. A group of friends and I rolled into the upstairs portion of the bar on a Tuesday night, hoping to grab a few beers. The beer was good, as always, but to my surprise, the waitresses seemed to have some trouble getting our order right. My friend ordered a dark beer, and instead, ended up with a light beer in front of her. She had to reorder and the waitress acted like it was a huge inconvenience for her to get a new beer. I then also ordered the same dark beer and ended up with a light beer in front of me. Huh?! I then told her that wasn't the beer I ordered and she again, rudely replaced it. I mean, it was a Tuesday evening and maybe... 6 people total were in the bar? Is it that hard to get an order right? The real kicker is that after we all paid and left, one of the waitresses came running OUTSIDE to where we were saying goodbye, and demanded that we didn't pay for a beer and that we should do so now. We ALL paid for our beers... and the only thing we could think of was that the $5 one of our friends put down with the ticket wasn't used to pay for the bill, but taken as a tip instead. The waitress had no ticket, couldn't even tell us which beer wasn't paid for (because all the beer was paid for), etc. What an awkward and rude moment... and not to mention a completely unnecessary one. Because the waitress refused to provide us with a ticket or any additional information pertaining to the "unpaid beer," one of my friends paid for the beer AGAIN just so she would leave us alone. I've had a lot of bad service in my life... but never have I had someone follow me outside and demand that I didn't pay for something I did-- just to have to REPAY it again. Wow! We went up to the bar to get a beer and tried to get a bartenders attention...apparently, if you have facial piercings and tattoos all of your body it's a turn off for bartenders??? 4d loses its head "cook" every few months due to digust (I wont list names, but three to my knowledge)...everything is pre-made and frozen, theres no "chef" involved...absolutely infested with cockroaches...absolutely everything is done without care or concern...powdered gravy on powdered potatoes, the lobster mac is imitation lobster...the corned beef has its flavor made, preserved, and packaged in New Jersey and its cows butchered in texas...if you feel like you deserve better than gravy that comes from a bag, corned beef that is made and frozen a year before, or a good meal, contact mike or acting manager and ask why their standards have gone so low. I can't speak for the bar, as I don't drink. But as far as 4D's kitchen, it is definitely worth the visit. They have a large variety of both traditional Irish dishes as well as all the usual pub fare. Their hostesses are some of the friendliest I've encountered in Medford. Then again, if you're not working at Red Robin or Applebee's, I guess you probably would be generally pretty pleased with life. My personal favorite -- the fried chicken dinner. If you're a fan of the fried chicken dinner at Portland's Screen Door Cafe, you'll enjoy the same at 4D's. If you're only coming for the food, make sure you call ahead to check when the kitchen stops serving their full menu. There aren't too many places in Medford worth the mention, but 4D's is definitely above the cut. Don't miss out when you travel through. read more

I was surprise when I first walked in. Outside look dead but when I walked in the door the place was packed. It had a 10 min. wait so I went to the bar and got a seat right away. I ordered the Ruben and I was very impressed. A few restaurant before I was disappointed because you had to search for meat. This place was loaded with meat. Really good and Really ok during same visit. Clean up a few items and this place is a bingo-yahtzee hit. Here goes: Fish and Chips...fish excellent, chips need to be a bit more crisp but minor gripe. Chicken Shot Appetizer.... embarrassing. Chicken nuggets served with various sauces, not original and a complete swing and miss. Had to ask for the sauce as orginally it came out with one sauce only when advertised with several with the app. Fondue....more cheese fondue, kind of a small serving with the amount of bread given. Add a sausage component to this and Voilà...nice. Clam Chowder...just OK. Excellent Chowder is a must and this wasn't it. Ambience....very nice Service.....many people working there, mostly interested in talking amongst themselves and not asking about refills (beer). Once you get their attention though, nice kids. Smithwicks served on tap.....freaking awesome. Must try for any beer lover who see a dark beer and get kind of nutted up. Don't miss this beer. I would really love to see this place succeed and frankly with a few tweeks and a bit more passion from staff and kitchen, sky is the limit in Southern Oregon. read more
