This is a tiny storefront Mexican joint sandwiched between a medical supply store and a real estate appraisal office, across the street from the Niles Target store on Touhy, but on the Chicago side to the south. Seems when I'm in the area I end up going to Papa Chris just a block away 95% of the time, but this time I felt like having me some Mexican. In what is looking more like "Try New Mexican Restaurants Week" for me, I thought I'd come in here at noon. I've been suspicious but curious about this restaurant for at least a year but never tried it. Well, it's not a seedy joint at all. Not crowded either despite the noon hour and people having lunch. Only one other person was ahead of me in line. A few more people came to pick up carry-out orders while I ate there. The place has some large paintings on the wall and an Aztec calendar. They appear to be big fans of President Obama, with 4 pictures of him on the wall, plus a pair of commemorative Obama plates, in addition to the mandatory Our Lady of Guadalupe image, which seems to be at almost every Mexican place I've visited. Of course, I had to do my benchmark steak burrito test on the place. I got a small table off to the side and the lady from the counter brought over a basket of chips and a squirt bottle of hot salsa. The salsa was perfect, just the right amount of flavor mixed with the right combination of hotness. And in what seemed to be no more than 2-3 minutes, my burrito was ready, along with a side of beans and rice. I also got a horchata for my drink. The serving size was excellent, contrary to the review by A.A. The burrito was cut in half but it was a manageable size and not skimpy either. If it could be any better, I'd add a bit more sour cream inside, but otherwise a stellar burrito, complemented well with the hot sauce. Beans were seasoned just right and the rice was fluffy and light, bright yellow in color. The horchata was good but a little more vanilla would put it over the top. The food is really good overall and a few minor things don't really make a big deal for me. A good little place on the far NW side of Chicago and certainly a fine local alternative to Taco Burrito King. And there's a BYOB sign on the door for those who are into that. read more

My taco run continues in the suburbs with a stop at this little gem. A little joint that you can easily miss, even if you are looking for it. Their rice and beans portions are a little small, but the tacos make up for it. I will go out on a limb here and say that they have the best barbacoa tacos I've had so far. Try them! read more

Really didn't care for this restaurant. Came in for lunch and ordered the Tuesday taco special. The waitress gave me chips and salsa. There was like 10 chips in the basket. The tacos were ok. The rice was very mushy. Definitely don't think I'll be back. read more

Stopped in for a evening snack and to check out the place. Very authentic feel of this family run place. I grabbed two carnitas tacos. The meat was tender - not terribly flavorful but that is what the cilantro, onion and salsa are for. Price was great - a couple tacos for a couple bucks. We moved to the suburbs almost a year ago from chicago, and are having the hardest time finding decent vegetarian mexican food. We go to the target across the street alot and decided to give this place a whirl. Their food is pretty tastey! They have vegetarian options, are extremely affordable, and kid friendly, so we are easily able to bring my son here. Its small inside, but big enough to sit down and enjoy a quick meal out. This was the first time my boyfriend and I ordered from this restaurant and we ordered thru grub hub. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the order arrived because we were quoted over an hour, and it came within 30 minutes! We ordered 2 burritos (steak and pork) plus a tamale which was over the top amazing!!! I thought $4 was a lot for that but happy to pay because of how delicious it was!! The burritos were outstanding and so tasty!!! My boyfriend wants to order it again tonight because it was so delicious lol!!! We will definitely dine in soon to get the in house experience. From what I read this place gives great service, and I want to see what it's all about considering I work in the restaurant business myself. This is a nice little taco joint a bit west of the Village Crossing Shopping Center. We were making several stops in the area today, and decided to grab a quick lunch here. They have some very reasonable daily specials. Today was the 3 taco dinner for $5, which is what Christopher opted for. It was pretty good, and certainly plentiful and is served with beans and rice as well as the basket of chips and some spicey hot sauce. For $5 it was a deal. He also said the horchata was good too. I had the enchiladas suizas. It was pretty good as well. The beans and rice were average, but there was a tasty little salad that came with it as well. If I am in the area, I would certainly consider stopping here again. Like I said, you can't beat the $5 daily special. read more

Agree with Christina C on this place. Wanted not to cook for once. Mexican sounded good. There were yelpers claiming everything is fresh - great lets do 4 hermanos. Ten chips and a hot sauce arrive. I get the steak torta dinner special. They only serve refried beans not black. No thanks. Rice is old and mushy. It's been sitting a while with the added package of cheap frozen beans/peas/corn combo making it mushier. Ick. Steak torta no flavor. I added hot sauce and guac for flavor. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but who thinks this place is good? Not me. I'd rather have flavor and great ingredients instead of value. Won't be back. Suggestion I would make to restaurant. This is a hands on dining place like many fast Mexican places. Put a napkin dispenser on the table - one single napkin is not enough ! read more

I come from Albany Park where there is definitely no shortage of Mexican restaurants of the authentic variety. I was starving on my way home from work one day and I decided on a whim to use DoorDash for my dinner. This place was close to where I live so I decided to take a chance on it, but didn't expect anything mind blowing. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!!! This was one of the best Mexican meals I've ever had. I got a steak taco bowl and one steak taco just to try. The steak was so tender and well seasoned, and the taco tasted so authentic. My only complaint was that I asked for extra hot sauce and I only received one little packet. Other than that it's really hard to complain about the quality of the food at this place! read more

I was a fan of the original location 4 Hermanos when I lived nearby, so I was happy to see this one open up after I moved to the area. Atmosphere: It's ok - very clean, and a good number of tables for such a small place. The service is simply ok, perhaps a bit slow. Food comes out quick & hot Food: Try the Chorizo tacos. Seriously. Very good chorizo, fresh chopped onions, cilantro, and a lime on double corn tortillas. Simple and absolutely perfect. The chorizo is perfectly flavored. I crave these. The Horchata is also good. Their prices are on the high side for what I consider a fast food local. A plate dinner, a gotta and 1 drink =over $34.00, a little steep. But I guess when your one of 2 Mexican restaurants in Edgebrook, they have free say on what they charge. This place was meh. They provide you about 10 chips in a basket when you arrive and no salsa just red and green sauces in bottles. That should've been a sign. I had the steak taco dinner, it was mediocre. They put some kind of seasoning all over the steak which makes it taste artificial. My boyfriend had the chicken enchiladas with mole, the chicken filling is weird like that boiled mixed chicken. Not the best taste. The kicker was that he asked for extra mole and when I went to pay for it -at the register too the check wasn't brought out to us- they charge extra for the sauce which would have made some sense if there was actually a noticeable amount extra served but it was not. 4 Hermanos Too is good and reasonably priced. My order was placed online and was waiting for me when I arrived about seven minutes later. Note that they will send you an automated text saying that they are really busy and suggest a very conservative time to pick it up. The place was empty when I arrived and the food was ready. Ignore their suggested time. My order was enchiladas suizas with mole sauce, or as everybody else calls it, enchiladas de mole. I was expecting the enchiladas to be larger, but it was ample food. The rice and beans were the same as everywhere else. The "salad" that comes with it is shredded lettuce and avocado slices that is suitable to put on top of the enchiladas. It came with a tub of sour cream and a tub of salsa roja. I'm not sure what the salsa was for as I had mole sauce so I put it on the rice and beans. Parking might be a bit tricky if the place is busy (I assume around noontime). This is because they have perpendicular parking in front. That requires backing out onto Touhy which does not sound like a pleasant (or very safe) experience. I would park on a side street if there is not room to turn your car around to pull onto Touhy. read more

I went through GrubHub (which I love) and ordered at 12:23pm. It said that my order would arrive between 1:20 and 1:30pm. I'm at work and got busy. I stepped away from my phone at exactly 1:00. The driver started calling my cell at 1:07. He left voicemail and the last one was at 1:14. The restaurant also called my cell. I came back at 1:20 and saw missed calls. I immediately called restaurant and was told he'd been calling "for half an hour" (not true). Then, when I asked about my order they said "Call Grubhub". GrubHub called the restaurant while I was on hold and when they came back on the line, told me that the driver is REFUSING to return. I was appalled!! GrubHub apologized and issued refund with Grub money, but I am still very angry and disgusted. I'm telling EVERYONE that this place has HORRIBLE service. read more

We had a great experience here, the first time around, but were disappointed after visiting for a late lunch. Perhaps this restaurant is better for breakfast? Parking was limited, so we had to be careful when parking on the side gravel, since it was not even with the main street. We sat down and were attended to after about 2-3 minutes. We got chips - quickly after an appetizer we asked for a second batch (empty basket, didn't offer first) and water (never asked or brought out to begin with). We ordered horchatas, quesadillas, a burrito, and chicken flautas. Horchata - good, could use more ice. Quesadillas - good and cheesy. Burrito - average, nothing exceptional. I was most disappointed with my chicken flautas - rice and beans good, but the flautas lacked taste, the rolled up tortilla could have been more tight/crisp, and the sour cream on top was insulting (it didn't taste like sour cream, see photo). One thing that I liked and noticed is that they try to recycle or cut costs by not being concerned by consistences (cups and place mats matching, using a soda bottle for flowers) - this idea shouldn't be applied to food. This place is "A-OK." I'm not sure if this place is worth driving out to, unless you're in the area or you're looking for breakfast. read more

Overall: SOLID great tasting Mexican food in the burbs, good prices, and convenient for shopping around the area! The Deets: I went here after driving past it many times, and I finally saw a good deal online - went in, and I was not disappointed. (They could certainly use a larger sign... so don't miss it as you drive by). Burritos are a great deal and are a good size! I tried out the carne asada burrito with all the fixin's. It was definitely enough for 2 people (although I happily stuffed my face and ate the whole thing). Good eats, decent prices. My girlfriend and I tried this place out for the first time the other day. In the dictionary this place's picture is right next to the definition of "Hole in the wall". It's really tiny, with about 8 or 9 tables squeezed in to a space the size of most people's living room, but the effect is a very comfortable, 'at-home', meal and I must say I am a fan. The service was a bit lacking though. There was only one very overwhelmed looking woman doing just about everthing in the front of house. Right after we came in, she had to get a massive to go order ready for a customer and 4 other large tables came in and sat themselves. It took us about 20 minutes of patient waiting after finishing eating before we where finally able to get our check, settle up and get out of there. I totally understand how that goes though and I almost just wanted to get up and go help her take an order! I have to imagine with all of the great reviews on here, that this was a one time thing, so I will definetly be heading back to give it several more chances. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The daily specials are the way to go, I got two loaded steak tostadas for 5 bucks! Even the chips and salsa where top notch. Just got this delivered. Ordered the torta and fried burrito. They were both basically inedible. Did not taste good at all and the meat was rubbery. Guac tasted horrible! I gave it a couple of stars for quick delivery and good pico de gallo. I would not order from here again. read more
