DO NOT USE 4LESS They have extremely rude technicians representing their company, driving their company vehicles. Their technician parked like this blocking multiple residents from accessing their garage. These garages also open automatically causing damage to both the garages and the company vehicle if opened. This is also a painted RED FIRE LANE, with multiple no parking signs and designated signs where he CAN park, but he chose not to. Upon asking this technician to move his car and not park in front of the garages, he proceed to walk away from his vehicle stating he won't be long and refused to move. 20 minutes later he comes out, while I'm recording the interaction, and tell him again not to park in front of the garages and if he does in the future, he will be towed. I pointed out the fire lane AGAIN and the NO PARKING signs. He asked where he should park.. I said you were told all of this when you initially got here and refused to move. He said fuck you and drove away. I call 4less about 5 minutes later, the receptionist answers the phone and says all the supervisors are out in the field and asks to go over my issue with the tech. She then transfers me to the tech that I JUST had this interaction with. He proceeded to tell me what happened didn't happen despite me telling him I Have video and pictures of the entire encounter. They both refused to get me to a supervisor or the owner, Chris, until I mentioned that Chris has been out to our complex and fumigated the ENTIRE complex. They stated there's no supervisors schedule, they're in and out and I could hopefully catch one if they're in. This completely changed when I mentioned the owner, Chris. The Tech on the phone then said "so you want the owners or supervisors contact information but you won't leave yours" Again.. I told him, I'm not going to play your games, you can either provide the owners contact information and stop trying to prevent me from being able to contact him or I will get it myself. I have NEVER encountered someone from a business acting this way in a company vehicle in a private complex. I'm sure the owner wouldn't want his company vehicle towed or his business represented in this way. read more

I asked about veteran's and senior discounts and Benjamin explained that they aren't called 4less for nothing. He did offer a nice discount for cash (greenbacks) payable within 10 days of service. He was dead honest, said I actually had some time before treating, but also explained exactly what type of termites they were, how they got there, etc., really bright guy. I got the estimate in maybe a day or so, and it was a totally fair price. Then I worked with Bianca, extremely bright, informative, polite...explained everything. Chris has been unbelievably helpful on two occasions--first, we discovered some small pellets below a storage shelf beam. We removed the beam and asked Chris to come out to assess. He inspected and told us there was a localized infestation in the beam but nothing else was around and no treatment was necessary having removed the beam. Whew! The cost ? Zero. Just a smile a call me if you ever need anything else. Second occasion--we just bought a new house and seller inspection revealed one area with ground termites. Recommendation was to treat the local infestation for $700 then also inject chemicals around the perimeter for $3k additional! Again called Chris and his recommendation was to simply do a perimeter walk myself, inside and out, periodically to watch for more tunnels. Why pay for a problem that doesn't yet exist? We'd never had a house tented before, and these guys did an awesome job. I can't recommend them highly enough. When first purchasing the property, 4 Less did the termite inspection. The owner (?) was wonderful -- not only did he do a thorough and detailed inspection, he really enjoyed himself! He loved viewing all the crazy termite tunnels under the house, identifying species and showing them to me, and teaching me the difference between dust and termite dirt (eww!). It was a hell of an education. This is the first house I've bought that is mostly wood, so termites just love it. It was so much fun for him that I had fun just watching him. He was like a kid in a candy store. Imagine being excited to crawl underneath a house! I'm glad SOMEONE wants to do it! About a year after closing escrow, we decided to take the plunge and get all the 'mites gassed and dry rot repaired at the same time. Of course we called 4 Less as we'd been so impressed with the inspection. The owner remembered our house as being one that he'd loved, and that felt great (can you tell we're house-proud?). He gave lots of tips about how to take care of a house in general, as there's always something to learn. He told us a lot of things we didn't know. Scheduling the tenting was a breeze. We made arrangements to stay in a hotel, having found one that accepted cats (read my Yelp of the Maple Tree Inn), and a rep at 4 Less provided us with plastic bags for which to wrap things in that we did not want exposed to the fumes. They even sent someone out, per our request, to demonstrate to us exactly how far out the tent would extend so I would know which of my plants to dig up and transplant so they wouldn't be killed by the poison. I really appreciated that -- transplanting everything was a chore, but it was a great education in not planting so close to a wood house -- I'm still conscious of that when gardening. There was snafu with the guys showing up too early to start the process, when we were not evacuated and checked into the hotel yet, but they had other jobs in the area so agreed to come back later. We really appreciated how completely the guys aired out our house, and locked it up for us, at the end of the job. The only odor we experienced was when we unwrapped the plastic bags, and we ventilated to allow for that. You know what's so awesome! The gas they used killed the ivy! The nuisance, shitty ivy in front of the house, that had been there for years and resistant to all prior attempts to get rid of it. Gone! Lovin' it! Now there are plants there that are there on purpose. Who knew?! In addition to having the dry rot repaired, we also asked the guys if they could replace the yucky rotting gate, plus create a gate on the other side of the house that was currently just a fence. They agreed to do it, and the results were great! The price was reasonable considering they built these gates from scratch and matched the existing fence for us. They also installed a new bathroom floor as the old one was peeling up so much, with moisture getting in and rotting the sub-floor. Wood + water = termites. We were very impressed with how efficiently and carefully the floor guy worked, considering it's a tight space to work in, and he even put up fresh base moulding that made the room look new! When we arranged to have the house painted shortly after, our painter pointed out that there was still some dry rot left to fix that the termite guys had missed. We called 4 Less back, and they agreed to return for just the cost of materials. They came back immediately, it all got repaired, no hassle, and the painting was able to continue on schedule. Great! So, not only was the treatment experience pleasant, we also learned things about wood, termites, and home maintenance that have served us well, like a gift that keeps on giving. Now that's service! Used this guy for a pest inspection. Very inconsistent with reinspection. Told me that material under house was clean and then a few weeks later said it wasn't clean from debri. Come to find out he didn't even inspect under the house the first time even though he told me it was fine. Ended up costing me a bunch of money in reinspection. When I asked for a refund on the inspection that he said under the house was clear even though he didn't inspect it he wouldn't return my call nor give me a refund. This company did a termite inspection for me for a house I was planning to purchase in fair way, Royal Oaks. The inspection was scheduled at 9am. I reached there by 9.15am and this guy Chris had done the job and left the site before I reached and did not contact me at all. How he did inspection of a 1806 sqft house in about15 minutes is a mystery to me. He gave an oral inspection report to my property agent who was present there that he found termites in the bedroom window area which could be treated locally for few hundred dollars. I told my agent my concern regarding this and said I would have to rethink on purchase. Next day he send me a written report stating the termite was inactive due to previous treatment and no treatment is required. How can termite be inactive in one day? I assume he doctored his report for some reason .. cheating. He did not send me an invoice for the inspection and I followed up with his office for making payment. I have not got the actual report yet but a soft copy was sent on my request. His quote was for 165 dollars and he charged me 250 dollars in total with late fee since I did not pay on the same day of inspection. He expects to pay even before we get his report. This company looks like a one man show out there to loot and fool people. Never ever try to get an inspection or service done by this useless company. There is no minus or 0 star option for this rating. So I gave a single star. read more

House was tented. It's been a month. Bugs freaking everywhere. So bad even the city water guy was like, you gotta get someone out here for your huge amounts of spiders and ants. Also... saw a termite by the many ants swirling about. I'm super anal about closing windows, using using trash cans that seal close, vacuum immediately after crumbs, and make kids eat popsicles outside. I don't leave doors open longer than it takes to get inside. Because I have been bit by a brown recluse and I never want to go through that again. Because I'm so diligent about bug control this tells me (especially since we have only been here a few days and we didn't ever have ants at any location elsewhere I lived) that the tenting company probably didn't use correct amount of chemicals. Sure- there may have been a tent... actually I need to check w neighbors on that one) but chemical level was obviously not used. read more

Got our house tented in 2012 for a reasonable price but had an issue with subterranean termites this year. Walked into the office on a weekday and Liz scheduled a visit from Chris within a week. We got a fair quote and when he came to do the work on a Saturday, he went the extra mile to make sure the treatment went smoothly, even using chisels on the sub-floor to ensure the delivery rod would have a good seal to contain the injection material. These are the biggest ripoff artists in the Bay Area. They always claim you need your house tenting whether you need it or not. Of cause the realtors praise them because the seller is paying. Negative experience. After the report was finally received (5 days later instead of 2 - 3) incorrect and contradicting information was written in the report. stated information about the attic and roof then stated that neither were inspected but I believe the largest amount on the estimate was related to those two items. Difficult to say since the estimate was only prices without an explanation of what the prices were for. In order to find out you have to call the office. Way over priced and was only trying to get work that they definitely will not be getting. read more
