This week, we discovered a dead rat problem in our house. The first exterminator we called would not do "clean up" so they sent over Pied Piper's (and a few other companies') number. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. First, the technician either had time in his schedule or made time to come to our place that very day (did not have to wait an extra day to get scheduled/on the calendar). He was polite, friendly, and did a very thorough job. He found the dead rat and took care of it. He also did an inspection of our exterior and even the attic. Bottom line on our experience is: prompt and polite service; took care of the problem; did an inspection to see what other problems might exist. Yesterday this van was driving aggressively behind us on a one lane road in San Jose. We were already going well above the speed limit but this van kept closely tailing us. He decided to pass us on a double yellow lane while there was another car on the other lane. He could have created an accident. Reading the reviews, apparently this is not the first time someone has complained about the drivers for this company! Sal left our house less than an hour ago but I had to jump on here to review him right away. He came for our first service visit and he was really thorough and helpful in checking for all of our openings (exclusions). He did a walk around the exterior perimeter of the house and he looked for light leaks in the interior of the attic. He found a clear opening in our roof line and unfortunately Pied Piper is not able to fix roof related issues but still was great to learn. He patched all the other openings he could find around the house and even helped to identify a smell which we were sure was a dead rodent. He even went out of his way to try to investigate in the crawl space a bit to see if it that was the source of the smell but had a strong suspicion it was in the walls. To top it all off, he killed off a medium and small wasp nest on our eaves after laying all the traps. We'll certainly have to follow up this review based on the results of our first month of trapping but all-in-all I have peace of mind and feel more empowered over this first home purchase. Pied Piper (Sal, specifically) has exceeded our expectations so far. We used a different pest control service years ago and they were insanely flakey and didn't do a great job. I entered a request for quote form online two days ago. Within the hour, Sal contacted me (my phone went to voicemail) and said he could stop by my home in 15 minutes. And he did! Unfortunately, I wasn't home, but I was blown away by how quickly someone responded to me. I called him back and arranged for him to come the next day, although he was prepared to come that same day if we needed. I almost never encounter that with services we need for our home. This morning Sal came by and did a thorough search of our home to see how the rats were getting into the attic. We are selling our home and need this issue resolved ASAP. He was able to close the hole, put traps in our attic, and place a bait box outside in a very short amount of time. He will be coming weekly for the next month to ensure all our issues are resolved. The website says "environmentally-sensitive treatments", safe treatments do not include poison. I talked to the person who represents the company about gophers and moles and was told they don't trap, they bait. This is far from safe! Hawks, owls, bobcats are dying from baited traps. The gophers don't just die underground they die above ground, then are eaten by wildlife and sometimes pets who die slow painful deaths. This is a horrible way to take care of our environment. Disappointed to say the least. I mentioned this to the employee and he said "ok, thanks". End of conversation. I'm sure I'm not the first person to point this out. I am not speaking to the efficiency of your company's ability to extinguish rats, just to your ineptness in following through with a service we were told you would and your unwillingness to even address the experience of being physically handled by your technician. Is it your companies policy to leave traps at a customers house indefinitely? Since being made aware of this horrific experience and all you can respond with is to be a cheer leader for your company and in a snide way to say to us basically "good luck with your rat problems now that we're not servicing you", it is clear to me that we need to take this to another level. Guy came knocking at the door this morning. Offered special half-off deal "because they are working in our area today". Offered to do our house for $75, and guarantee for 2 months. Okay, not so bad. We signed the agreement, and then noticed that it is a RECURRING contract, for bi-monthly service! The sales guy certainly did NOT disclose that it is a recurring contract. So we cancelled immediately. We don't like dealing with people who are not upfront and honest about the full agreement. read more

Beware of the salesman - and Pied Pipers scam I have been with Clark for sometime now and was happy, but not 100% satisfied. A salesman showed up at my door from Pied Piper to offer services. I told him I was already with someone and that I was not interested. From this point on I found out Piper Piper is not a company you should do business with. 1. The salesman claimed that a bunch of neighbors had signed up and that all of the pests would be flushed inside. If I didn't sign up they could not guarantee I would not get infested. If I did they would make sure they did our flush with the rest. The truth was none of my neighbors signed up and that it was a scare tactic in order to get me to sign up. 2. The saleman said they would call and cancel my existing service. Truth - they did not and I got double service and double billed until cancelling Pied Piper. 3. The salesman said nothing about a two year contract and I got billed for that when I cancelled. 4. The salesman said he worked for Pied Piper. Truth - he worked for a company hired by Pied Piper to get new clients. He does not and never has been an employee at Pied Piper. They use outside sales agencies to come to your house, lie to you so that you buy services. 5. When the guy came out to do the first spraying (he is a guy who you will only see once) - he confirmed the above. The guy who showed up said he did initial sprayings only and someone less experienced would be by to do the regular monthly spraying. I called and immediately cancelled my service. They continued billing me for two more cycles despite not spraying my house. Eventually I was sent to collections. I would urge you if anyone comes to your house - DO NOT SIGN UP. read more

I am not happy with the office at this place. I called to see about exterminating fleas in my home and the lady told me it would be $100.00 first visit and every visit after would be $75.00. She set up for the treatment and went over what i need to do prior to the tech coming out. NON OF THAT WAS THE CASE. She quoted me $100 when the teck said $220.00 she told me nothing air born just stuff for the carpets, SHE WAS NOT CORRECT. The tech Rob, was nice enough. Ms. Brianna, the office manager, did not return my phone call when I initially called two weeks ago to complain that the stations had been pulled on a Friday afternoon without contacting me that I was behind on my payment. I had my credit card out to pay them that Friday afternoon before they pulled the stations, but they didn't answer when I called. She did call me back that, but I was voting. When I finished and tried to call back the office was closed. After being sent numerous invoices with a zero balance, I was told that I hadn't paid anything in 2 years, which I do not believe to be true. When I finally got in touch with her today after she didn't return my call, she had a negative attitude and made it seem like they didn't even want my business. I sincerely regret recommending this company to anyone based on my experience. read more

What keeps this from being a 5 star review is early on, we had the "We showed up, but no one home" excuse, even though we were home. This is my first time using Pied Piper, and after the first visit, I understand why the reviews are so good. We have a carpenter ant issue that Todd came out to inspect, and recommended we use ant bait to try to address the problem before a more costly and inconvenient spray. He then did an unplanned inspection of a basement area that has evidence of rats, and recommended their rodent exclusion service: he laid traps and will be back once a week for a month. He identified areas of entry and recommend we seal those up. I thought this was an intractable problem, and now, thanks to Todd and Pied Piper, I'm optimistic we will find a solution. read more

Out here in Dublin, CA at 830 AM today, at the intersection of San Ramon valley blvd and Amador valley blvd, the driver slammed on his brakes and cut across 2 lanes of traffic to make a right turn. I decided to get away from this driver and went around him. He proceeded to accelerate up to my passenger side and yell obscenities at me while we were driving, repeatedly taking his eyes off the road and driving erratically. I had my daughter in the car with me, this employee endangered both my daughters and my life, but also anyone else on the road. If this company employs people with such irrational behavior on the road, I can only imagine what they do to your home. read more
