I have personally used the boarding for my whole crew over a holiday, and daycare numerous times and my dogs love it. I cannot recommend TPDT enough. With her age, we knew training would not be a perfect fix and we just wanted to get to a manageable spot. We found Turning Point Dog Training through a Google search and reached out. Within a day or two (I think it was same day), we got a response from Andrea, one of their dog trainers. Andrea was very accommodating with scheduling as my partner and I both work full time. When we first met with her - we immediately felt comfortable. One thing that I noticed and really appreciated right off is that we were not rushed through an appointment. Andrea took her time with us and we even ended up staying over time. She easily could have said "oh times up" or "I have another appointment". But this showed me that they would take time with our dog. We ended up selecting a 3 week board and train as that is what we felt fit out life best at the moment. Again - we went in with expectations that Maisy may never be perfect, but we wanted manageable. We met up with Andrea for her midway session and then again for a public outing at 3pm in a local park (I never thought I would take Maisy to a busy park with lots of dogs at 3pm), and we were absolutely blown away. It was a night and day difference! Maisy was walking near dogs and not having a full freak out and was able to remain calm. We did have to correct some minor behaviors - but she's still learning and so are we! Those behaviors we corrected though were nothing like anything she did in the past that felt unmanageable. We get Maisy back today from our 3 week board and train and we can't wait to see how it goes integrating what she has learned and what we have learned into our everyday life. I will post another review after a couple of weeks and/or months for an update. But so far, we have had such a great and meaningful experience! Other things we enjoyed: They send daily photo updates so you are never left without seeing your pup! They also have around the clock care and have eyes on your dog almost all the time if not all the time. Maisy was in such good hands.

Teddy was completely unreceptive to my own attempts at training. As he grew larger and stronger, I knew that it was time to call in the professional. That is when Eric came into our lives and changed everything! Teddy was impossible to walk and was so forceful with me that I physically couldn't handle him. In addition, he would run full speed towards my young children - his 85 pounds knocking them down and eliciting tears and screams. Eric was absolutely incredible!!! Not only did Teddy immediately respond to him, but so did I. Eric taught Teddy in a patient, direct, and consistent way. He also taught me what to do, so that Teddy and I could work together effectively in his absence. Eric was also great at explaining the dog's nature and instincts, and why it makes sense to approach training in the way that the Lorenzo program does. My 4 and 7 year old are obsessed with Teddy and are excited to play with him every single day now that he is gentle. Walking him both on and off leash is a pleasure. The crazy dog that seemed to be too much to handle, is simply a joy now. He still has that spunky, goofy, lovable energy. The difference is that now, he has the ability to listen and respect me. Eric handled Teddy in such a caring and compassionate way. Teddy absolutely LOVES Eric and is always excited to see and work with him. His passion for animals is undeniable!!! It is this fondness that clearly drives his mission to help each family achieve their goals. For anyone considering using Lorenzo's Dog Training Team with Eric Beck, I urge you to begin! Your life will change in such a positive way - you will be able to enjoy your furry friend in the manner that you always hoped to! Thank you for everything, Eric!!!

Jacob is very personable, knowledgeable, and clearly has experience with dog training. However, it has now been nearly a year since I enrolled in the training program, and only a fraction of the training I was originally promised has been completed. I paid over $1,000 for the program, and at this point, my dog has primarily learned basic commands such as "down," "stay," and not pulling on the leash. I was initially very happy with the training, but my concerns began when a prong collar was introduced and later transitioned to a shock collar. At our very first meeting, I specifically expressed that I was uncomfortable with the use of a shock collar and did not want one used on my dog. I was never informed that this would be necessary for her training. However, I later learned that it appeared to have been part of the intended training approach all along. Another major concern was that my dog became extremely fearful of the trainer. During sessions, she would often try to get away from him and was unable to focus or make meaningful progress. Interestingly, she would work very well with me when the trainer was not present. I communicated these concerns, but I did not feel that they were adequately addressed. I also became increasingly frustrated by the lack of communication. There were times when I felt that the trainer was avoiding contacting me, and sessions would only be scheduled after I reached out and expressed my concerns. We continued working on many of the same things during each session without seeing the progress I expected from the program. Eventually, I asked whether a partial refund would be possible because I felt the training was no longer progressing and that the trainer did not want to continue working with either me or my dog. During the conversation that followed, I was told that the trainer was hesitant to continue working with my dog because of her allergies and because she had previously required surgery to remove a cancerous mass. I understand that these may be valid concerns, but I was disappointed that this was not communicated to me earlier. It took me requesting a partial refund before I received an explanation for the lack of continued training. Since that conversation, I have not heard anything further from either the trainer or the company regarding my dog's training or how the situation would be resolved. Despite the training program not being completed, I have continued being charged. I do want to acknowledge that Jacob was initially helpful in working with me financially and adjusting the training price to make the program more affordable. I appreciated that accommodation. However, I feel that the discounted pricing should not be a reason for the training program to remain incomplete or for my concerns to go unresolved. Overall, I expected much more from this company. I paid for a training program with specific expectations, communicated my concerns throughout the process, and ultimately feel that I did not receive the services I was promised.

I am hoping they didn't tell her. About a month ago, my younger brother passed away unexpectedly. That same week, I missed a grooming appointment -- the first one I've ever missed -- and realized it about an hour later. I immediately called to reschedule. Instead of any understanding, I was told I would be charged a $35 rescheduling fee. I explained the situation, apologized, and even offered to tip the groomer extra. The woman on the phone was rude, completely unsympathetic, and told me they could not book another appointment unless I paid the fee, even offering to charge the card on file. I declined and then emailed the owners. It's now been about a month, and I have received no response. I understand policies exist, and I even understand that the employee was likely just following them. But as a business owner myself, I also understand that there are moments where compassion and common sense should outweigh rigid rules -- especially for a loyal customer of over a decade. I don't typically leave negative reviews until I've exhausted every avenue with management, but the lack of response speaks volumes. For the sake of a $35 fee, you've lost a loyal customer of 10+ years. That's incredibly disappointing. Do better, Central Bark.

Then she and Jacob asked a lot of questions and listened intently at the consultation appointment. Gunther had issues with aggressiveness when he was scared or unsure, he was very hyper and spastic, and we could tell he just didn't know how to behave as a dog in a loving home. We opted to send Gunther away with Anya for the 4 weeks border/training program. He came back to us a completely different dog! Gunther learned so much with Anya! He is a super obedient dog and overall has really calmed down. No more jumping on people, no more aggression, no more spastic behavior, no more scarfing his food...he is visibly a much happier dog! He now understands what is expected of him and he really wants to please. We are so thankful for Anya and her team. We have since participated in group walks and Anya is so caring of and concerned with all the dogs. Anya is also a very kind and patient human trainer (the reality is we dog owners often need as much if not more training on how to handle ourselves!)! No regrets, worth every penny and every bit of time!

My birthday was coming up and seemed like the perfect opportunity for this idea, so I contacted Feels Like Home Farm to set up a private "snuggle session" for six people. I expected to meet the baby goats, pet some alpacas, and be on our way, but the experience was so much more than that! Marcus (one of the owners) gave our group a full tour of the farm and told us so many interesting things about the animals there. Marcus is a great tour guide and really made the experience for us (and has great travel tips). We all walked away knowing a lot more about the animals on the farm and what taking care of them entails. While I was there, I didn't think about law school once! We all had plenty of opportunities to hold the baby goats, which were even more adorable than I imagined they would be. We also fed the alpacas and met a lot of other animals (adult goats, guard dogs, guard geese, and various cats). If you love animals but cannot have your own farm, or if you are up for a unique experience in the Cleveland area, I highly suggest booking a tour and snuggle session at Feels Like Home Farms! I'm a huge adventure junkie and....this goat yoga party was one of my favorite adventures to date....This farm is literally a utopia... Feels Like Home Farm is AMAZING for: a) Private Parties - Reasonably priced and SO MUCH FREAKING FUN! Also so unique - you're never going to have another party like this! b) Goat Yoga Events - they run community yoga classes on a somewhat-regular basis throughout the year (schedule is on the farm's website!) and they're a great way to get out and try something new with friends. Their instructor, Deanna Black, is an excellent teacher and make the class very unique. I've been doing yoga for years and I'm kind-of a yoga snob....and I freaking love Deanna. Great way to support a local farm! If I could give Alissa (and her family), Deanna, the farm, the goats, the class, and the entire experience 1,000,000,000 stars, I would. I'll call out a couple things, although the list of positives is far too long to write: 1) The farm: Is STUNNING. LOTS of land and very peaceful. They have ~50 goats, primarily 4 different breeds. All are happy, healthy, ADORABLE, and super friendly. They also have 2 awesome dogs, a CUTE LITTLE PIG named Dottie (omg!), and happy ducks waddling around. Their neighbors let us meet their CRAZY-COOL mini donkeys, cows, and pigs! I honestly never wanted to leave. Alissa and her husband took us on a tour of the farm and taught us all about their animals!! It was AWESOME! 2) The people: Alissa, her husband, and her daughters were unbelievably passionate about what they do at the farm, loving towards their animals, and so excited to share their farm with us. Alissa was INCREDIBLY responsive to all of my requests, and personalized literally EVERY little thing about the party. She was very creative, and thought of ideas I NEVER would have (like bringing in a local food truck!). I interact with a lot of business owners through Yelp, and Alissa has been by far the most fun and passionate one yet. 3) The Yoga: If you want a good workout, Deanna's class is great. She is also EXCELLENT at leading guided meditations. I was so relaxed and present by the end of class. Deanna is also AWESOME at incorporating acro-yoga into her classes. We did some CRAZY moves I've never done before (see my pictures!) 4) Convenient location - The farm is only about 25 - 30 minutes from Ohio City and an easy drive. We had no issues with parking at all. HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for making this such an unbelievably unique experience that none of us will forget!

That groomer also worked at a dog Salon, which was an option, but the recent YELP reviews were awful. Our dog is a puppy mill rescue, who had been abused and can be fear aggressive when confined with anything around her neck. She's never bitten anyone but gets snappy if you pull on her. So we need a groomer who gets that..... 95% of the time this dog is a lap dog, desperate for affection. She's also actually afraid of people and other dogs, terrified of cages,( she was in a cage for the first two years of her life)which is why going to a regular dog Salon was the least favorite option. So enter Furryland! We have had two groomers. Both were excellent. Both listened beforehand to her history and her trigger points. Amanda now has been her groomer the last few times and the actual grooming is terrific. She really did what I asked regarding her ears, which is difficult on a Doodle. Our original groomer just always kind of did it her way. Lol. But most importantly, our dog wasn't stressed. And before anyone asks, we have always used vet prescribed sedation to reduce anxiety. But it didn't yield the same results with our prior home groomer. So overall, the grooming results were terrific, the commutation via text while your pup is in the van is excellent, the personality and listening skills of both Amanda and staff have been so pleasant to deal with.
