Good food, quick service and fantastic southern hospitality! Olivia, our server, was great and checked in to make sure we didn't need anything. As the restaurant filled up, she did not forget about us. Food was prepared exactly as ordered. Grits were very good and the southern gravy was enjoyable. read more

Cute place with a military theme. Food was great and there was a lot of it. Best deal for breakfast in town if you are a big eater or can share. Biscuits were so yummy! This will definitely be a go to when in Nashville read more

Have been trying to get here for a while. Long lines, parking difficulties made it tough. Service polite and professional. No cream alternatives available for us lactose intolerant people! I LOVE eggs for breakfast. Ordered the 417 omelette as a VERY soft scramble. It came out as a hard, dry omelette. Sent it back. Second time was a dry scramble. Sent it back. Third fry was ok at least edible. Biscuits were good, raspberry jam was very good. Not worth trying again. read more

Food was great ! Waitress was great she was helpful and engaging ! It was a very warm and comfortable atmosphere.

Best pancakes I've had in years paired with fast and friendly service. Came here today (Saturday) in the morning because Frothy Monkey was packed and had a line. I was seated right away and helped by my server, Olivia. She recommended the pancakes and I'm so glad she did! I ordered pancakes with blueberries and lemon, along with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a biscuit with jam. The biscuit came out first and it was warm, fluffy, and soft. The jam was a home made strawberry jam with just the right sweetness to pair with the biscuit without overwhelming. You can biscuits and gravy instead if that's your thing, but I loved the biscuit with jam. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had anywhere. The blueberries were nice and whole and right in the batter. The lemon topping gave them a nice sweetness and tang and syrup was hardly needed (though it was available). The eggs were more of an omelette rather than cut up scrambled, but they were fluffy and tasty. The bacon was nice and crispy. I liked that the potatoes were not oily or greasy. The price was maybe a tough high, but you get a lot of food, and downtown Nashville isn't cheap anyway, so I found the prices right in line for the amount of tasty food you get. I highly recommend this place and I might even be going back tomorrow. read more

We stopped here on our way to the airport, and we were soooo glad that we did! The breakfast was fantastic. My sister got the strawberries and cream pancakes (I stole the bacon - btw, this was the best bacon I've ever eaten), scrambled eggs, and home fries. I had the Omelet 417(mushrooms, bacon, and Swiss cheese) with home fries and toast. The toast was served with their homemade triple berry jam, which was scrumptious. They sell the jam and will ship it (I made sure before I left). The only downfall is the drinks. You're only getting coffee, OJ, or water. The location itself has a story to tell and is full of history. Trust me. This will be a breakfast to remember! read more

Food was good. We sat upstairs to eat, had a Bloody Mary and an omelette. Service was fine and I like that their theme is a tribute to military and the history. Good place to go for sure. read more

Great little spot! Our server, Mike, was attentive and friendly. The bananas Foster pancakes were divine. The breakfast sandwich was tasty and the potatoes were perfection! Worth the 30 minute wait to get in around 10 AM! read more

The food was amazing here, my husband and I loved it! As first timers in Nashville, we had a great experience here. Every morning we would come here for breakfast because the waitresses and waiters were very nice and welcoming, the food was amazing, and it's a cozy spot. There is also an upstairs seating if it gets crowded. There was always something new we could try on the menu and when we did try new dishes, everything tasted great every time! The hostess was a little bit too stressed and standoffish but other than that, I would definitely recommend this place! Definitely worth it. read more

Showed up Saturday morning for brunch, and opinion of other reviewers confirmed, there is a little bit of a wait. But an active street, place to sit, and some clear weather made it no problem. Inside we had a roomy table, good atmosphere, and good eats. We had a tasty Bloody Mary, the candied bacon went well with that, and the biscuits were just right. The jam made them even better. Would come back for more! read more

One of the most recommended breakfast spots on our trip! Walking distance from Broadway - such a large menu! We each had something different and all was delicious! This was that wife's t time I ever had a Salmon scramble and WOW I loved it! Egg options paired with potatoes were a good gluten free option! Our waiter was extremely friendly and got our complicated order correct without even writing it down. I loved the ambiance of the place with all the old photos and memorabilia hanging around read more

By far the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Definitely recommended. No reservations needed and the service was outstanding. They were quick on serving the food. I cannot emphasize enough how good the food was. The ambiance was nice. Not loud and stress free. read more

Came here for brunch since alot of the other places we wandered into had a long wait time and I'm glad we came! Service was so good our waiter gave great recommendations and the biscuits with the butter was not a big fan of the gravy since it was quite bland imo but with the butter was delicious! Pancakes were great a little too much blueberries and lemon curd for my preference but the pancakes had a nice crisp to it.. my friend got a Bloody Mary and his only critique is that they added a slice of bacon to his drink without asking whether he wanted it and charged $2 for it (so keep in mind) one of our other friends got the chicken and waffles and waffles was basic but the chicken was good. Everyone loved their bushwhacker and if we were in the area we would come back! read more

I had read the reviews on Yelp and had wanted to try out 417 Union for a while. We had family in town for a visit and they raved about the food. One said it was the best waffle he had ever eaten--loved the blueberry and lemon combination. Another one said the fried chicken and waffles were the best. What was I waiting for? Two of us stopped in on a Sunday after 10am. From the outside, you would never guess there was a restaurant inside or that the restaurant would be so large. We were seated upstairs in the front room which had these huge windows that let in a lot of light. It was nice to eat in that bright, airy room because the other parts of the restaurant were quite dark. We had a very nice server. He was a little quiet at first, but he stopped by later to ask what our plans were for the day and offered up some ideas for local events taking place that day. That was a nice touch. The menu had a little bit of everything but I love my omelets, so I went for the Farmers Omelet which was LOADED with big chunks of thick-cut bacon, sausage and veggies. So so good. The BF went with the Pulled Pork Hash with eggs. I think he devoured it in less than two minutes. My omelet came with potatoes which were just okay--I am not a big fan of deep fried potatoes for breakfast--I prefer the hashbrowns or potatoes that are cooked on a flat top. I also got a biscuit and OMG was that biscuit delicious. Perfectly puffy, golden brown, a little crunch when you bit into it and then that warm, flaky, buttery goodness inside. I should have ordered a basket of them (which you can). All said, our two breakfasts with one iced tea came to $36. Not exactly inexpensive but I think in this case, you get what you paid for. We will definitely be back and I can't wait to try out the lunch and dinner menus. read more

Ended up here because our original destination had permanently closed inside The Arcade. It is a cute little nook, blink and you'll miss it amongst the tall cement and glass trees. We were seated immediately and though the tables were close it felt cozy, not intrusive. World War II memorabilia adorns the walls, making you feel almost like you've stepped back in time. The overall atmosphere was lively and the service was super quick, it's almost as if they anticipated our order! We ordered pancakes Bananas Foster which was sweet and decadent as well as the Steak Chilaquiles with over medium eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the steak was tender and flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, a pro, the type that doesn't have to write your order down. The only downside is that it was on the pricey end especially when you consider the parking one must seek, but that's for pretty much anything you want to do downtown. read more

THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANT CHOICES MY WHOLE TRIP! While visiting Nashville, we found this on Yelp. When we pulled up and I was nervous. No fluff and frills outside but we were able to be seated quickly. Service A+....Food A+...Price A+... you get a lot of food for your money and it was sooooo flavorful. Pancakes are a MUST...fluffy, crispy edges, hot. 10 out of 10...definitely recommend. read more

Honestly not impressed. They had good reviews and we needed some food before the show. We stopped in. The inside is cute and has a diner vibe with a little flare. Mood lighting and nice employees. They seemed a little busy, but our server got us sat and some menus. I ordered chicken and waffles and a drink. The food was decent, but the drink was fire. It didn't taste like any liquor was in it... definitely dangerous. Nothing else stood out to me, besides the drink. read more

Visiting from Chicago and asked hotel concierge for breakfast recommendations. This was within walking distance so we gave it a shot. Restaurant is not very vegetarian-friendly. Limited breakfast menu had meat with nearly every dish. 2 of us had Omelettes which were served with cold potatoes. Waitress was friendly but extremely inattentive. Coffee was just warm and our cups were always empty. Waitress finally returned and took our dishes back and said the cook will remake them "on the fly." 5 minutes later, she returns with what we swear were our exact same dishes still with cold potatoes. It appeared the owner/manager was on premises and was having a gay ol' times visiting with some of his cronies. Too bad-- he could not care less about the service and happiness of anyone in our party. There are other breakfast places in downtown Nashville. Choose one of those. read more

Biscuits. Melt-in-your-mouth biscuits. Soft, warm and beautifully baked biscuits. WOW! I know I should speak about how their fresh-squeezed lemonade is good (sweet, though) and their breakfast sandwiches are delicious, but the biscuits are fantastic. Also the biscuits sides -- the strawberry jam, butter and gravy are just, chef's kiss! Run, don't walk! And then run again because you'll want to eat 100 biscuits. read more

We love this restaurant! We stop In every time we get a chance to be in Nashville. This time my Husband ordered the prime rib hash and a bacon Bloody Mary. Both were excellent. I had the blueberry and lemon curd pancakes with eggs over easy and their seasoned breakfast Potatoes. We ordered some biscuits to take back to my mom and for the road. Everything every time is excellent, seasoned well, well prepared and nicely presented. So Sad that covid and folks working from home has taken its toll on so many great restaurants. 417 is not open for dinner at this time or we would have had dinner there last night as well. They had really good Chicken. If you find yourself in Nashville please stop by for breakfast you will NOT regret it. read more

It was amazing the country breakfast with biscuits and gravy and eggs and potatoes and ham and bacon was all delicious.

This place is delicious. They didn't take reservations, and there was a wait on a Monday morning. But it was absolutely worth the wait. It's a small restaurant and the tables are close together. We ended up with four chairs around a table likely made for two, but we made it work when the plates were delivered. We started with a plate of the biscuits. They are the perfect size as a started. A hearty portion without ruining the entree. Everything we got was hearty southern food and perfectly done. I would definitely return. read more

Overpriced standard diner fair with a cool WWII era vibe. Felt like a time travel trip with radical 2023 inflation rates.

I just returned from my trip to Nashville and I've gotta say it was awesome! The hospitality extended by everyone i met was quite unbelievable. 417 Union was recommended by a local and trust me when i say the food was delicious. We ate breakfast and lunch everyday of out 4day trip. The owner Anthony was really friendly and accommodating. The place is a good size but you will still have a 30-45 min wait. It's definitely worth the wait! I look forward to visiting again. read more

I would recommend coming here just so you can take in all the decorations. It is really neat to see all the photos from back in the day. Our group ended up getting seated in the probably confederate themed room which was a little uncomfortable but then I walked around and saw that they had alllll sorts of photos and was telling history not necessarily choosing sides. Food was only okay. Not a ton to choose from. read more

Really cool little spot, definitely a busy one too! Our waitress, Ashley, was phenomenal. We were a table of ten and not an easy group. We started with delicious Bloody Marys with bacon. They were the perfect amount of spice with a piece of thick cut bacon. We also ordered a plate of biscuits to start, they were fluffy and hot. The jam they served with it was sweet and sticky, great compliment to the hot buttered biscuits. I ordered the prime rib hash...it definitely needed salt but the potatoes and eggs were cooked exactly how they should be. A good hearty meal for sure. read more
