Second time here for dinner and it was even better than the first thanks to Amelia! Our server was friendly, helpful, professional and fast. She anticipated our needs and checked in often. It was a busy night so it stood out to me that she was so attentive. Our food was delicious of course: deviled eggs, salmon, and burger. She explained the Cabarrus burger contest. Their burger is amazing, check it out! I saw groups as well as couples. Dining room is not large but the layout maximizes the space: high tops, regular tables and booths as well as bar seating. Nice ambiance, low lighting, casual. Bathrooms are gender neutral, clean, nice decor. We were one of the last tables and Amelia took time to chat with us. She even asked our names! We'll definitely be back and ask for Amelia!

Their bacon double cheese burger with truffle fries!

Decided to have lunch here after passing it a million times. The blackened chicken pasta was terrible! We both sent it back! We then ordered the BLT and bacon cheese burger and they were both much better options! The cheese on the burger was pimento cheese and surprisingly, to me, it was very tasty! The young lady who was our server was very nice.

This is such a cute local spot that has the perfect ambiance with dim lighting that makes the place more intimate and cozy. Our server Amelia was great. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend asking for her! Started off with one of the holiday specialty drinks , the mimosa mistletoe which was a cranberry and rosemary ice cube served with champagne. This was so good that more than one round was ordered. The truffle fries are a great way to start the meal. The entrees we decided on was the fresh cut salmon and the roasted chicken breast. 10/10! Everything was perfect to the presentation, portion amount, and the taste. Nothing went to waste! I absolutely enjoyed my dinner here and can't wait to come back!

Went for lunch and food did not disappoint! This is my second time visiting 44Mills. This time, I ordered the A44 Burger (made with Waygu) and it was probably the best burger I've ever had. The only negative is that my bun got soggy. Maybe they added too much sauce on it so next time, I'd request light sauce and drain the grease from my burger. My husband enjoyed his hot honey sandwich and no complaints and may daughter did like her chicken tenders and fries. Our server was very friendly and knew the menu well. We'd definitely visit again soon.

We started with an order of Calamari appetizer which was cooked to tender crispy perfection. We all ordered the braised short rib. It was phenomenal. Our server was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. She brought out the dessert we ordered with a candle for my mother's birthday, which was very sweet. The chocolate cake was melt in your mouth perfection! It was moist, and chocolaty chocolate without being overly sweet. When you walked in the waiting area is relatively small, but we only waited. Two minutes. I think most people make reservations.; we did not so we were very fortunate that we were able to be seated so quickly. The lighting in here is perfect slightly dim, but not so much. You can't see your food. There is a large full-size bar with excellent bartenders as everyone at our table. Enjoyed their drinks. We will definitely go back.

I came to 44 mills with a friend on a weekday at lunch. It was not crowded and we were promptly seated. Nice ambiance that will make you want to come back. We ordered the truffle fries and Caesar salad with salmon. Everything was delicious and fresh. I still dream about the salmon. Customer service was great and I plan to come back. It's a hidden gem.

We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate with little wait time. It was packed, prime time Friday night. The hostesses and our waiter were a delight. We was cracking jokes and having the best convos. Ok now for the nitty gritty. I ordered a rosé, it was still although it was in the sparkling wine section. It was still good as I could do with either and didn't have a preference. For our apps we ordered the truffle fries and the bang bang shrimp. SMACKING! Both were hella good! The bang bang shrimp had a light, nicely seasoned batter that was crunchy and held with the bang bang sauce drizzle. The shrimp were huge in size. Definitely a reorder. The truffle fries OMG! Every fry was coated in truffle. The parmesan cheese and whatever that white cream sauce they added on top paired so well with the fries that we couldn't stop eating them. No for real. Definitely a reorder. For my main I ordered the 44 cheeseburger. I don't eat pork so they put it on the side so my friend could put it on her chicken sandwich. The burger is a smash burger with 2 patties, pimento in the cheese, lettuce and tomatoes with a house remoulade sauce. The burger was DELICIOUS! The patty was nicely grilled, had some crunch on the edges but was juicy and seasoned! The burger comes with fries but since we ordered the truffle fries I asked to sub. They had salads and so I got the caesar salad. That was a miss. I did like the freshness of the salad. So I will give kudos for that but the dressing was a no go. It was watery and lacking true caesar flavor. I'm definitely coming back! Parking was a breeze since it's in a plaza. We were able to snag a park right in front!

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. We were able to be seated right away. Very nice ambience and atmosphere. We had a very attentive server who checked on us frequently. I'm in town for the weekend and decided to stop by 44 Mills and had a great time. I love small, quiet places with great music that fills the background. My server was great attentive and great energy the whole time. For food I had the 44 burger(can't remember what the menu calls it). This is just a smash burger with pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. It comes with chips but I subbed it with old bay fries. First if you're an old bay person already then you'll love the fries. Great blend and taste and not too hard, felt like a perfect blend. Now the smash burger was honestly a great choice. I'm a pimento cheese guy and it does take the show on the burger. The sauce they have on the burger compliments it so well. It was a great choice if you're in the mood for one. Overall great experience. This place already has a positive reputation for being really good and I see why. If I come back to the area I would definitely come again and would recommend you try it out.

From the outside you would not expect what you find when you enter the doors. It's definitely got more of an atmosphere going on inside than out. Wife and I got the pimento cheese rangoons which were good, just basically fried pockets of pimento cheese. We also ordered the liver mush croutons which were amazing! I've never had liver mush prepared that way and I would come back just to get that app. For our mains I ordered the shrimp and grits which did not disappoint, the shrimp were big and succulent. The grits were perfectly cooked and the sausage/sauce added that extra smokiness and zing. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich and truffle fries. It's been a while since I've had truffle fries that actually tasted like truffle. Most places have them on the menu and they don't add up, but 44 mills delivered! Service was great, very attentive and polite. And to finish it off the Cheesecake was perfectly velvety and rich, It was so good I managed to find room in my already full belly!

While traveling, we stopped for lunch here today. I had the autumn salad with salmon and a side of cheese grits. The grits were enough for two. The salad was huge and filling and I'm glad the dressing arrived in the side. My husband had the creole omelet with potatoes. The omelet was tasty and the potatoes were amazing. I also had the pear necessities cocktail. Also delicious. Will definitely add to my list whenever I'm in the area. Service was friendly as well including running out after I'd left my gloves.

This was my first time trying 44 Mills. They've been on my radar for years. We stopped in to check out their Million Dollar Burger for the Cabarrus Burger Madness Challenge and it did not disappoint. The burger was HUGE!! I did not finish it, but I got a good chunk eaten and I was proud lol. We also tried a few cocktails and really enjoy them as well! 44 Mills has a lot of great items on the menu too so I can't wait to go back and try more options. But this burger was definitely the star of the show!! The bottom bread did get a little soggy from the jalapenos but it was still amazing. I will be back next year for their next burger they dream up. YUM!!

Fresh off the plane in concord after a great fun girls weekend and my husband and our boys picked me up and while waiting for my arrival they searched Yelp and found this place. As soon as I finished my hugs and kisses my husband sent me the link to 44 Mills from Yelp to head over for brunch. The no wait app said WAIT less than 5 mins and we were 7 mins away so we decided to just pop in. We arrived at about 1:32pm was told the wait is 15 minutes and the brunch was ending at 2pm but the remainder of the menu would be available. We wanted brunch so we read over the menu with our boys and knew what to order once seated. * 40 mins later* in my best SpongeBob commentator voice We are still in the waiting area with only one large ahead of us the entire time. That party is finally sat and we are forced to look over the regular menu to start preparing our order as we have two small HanGry children at this time as well as two pretty hungry parents. *10 more minutes later* We are sat, we immediately want to order as we've had TIME TIME to read the menu. I start by saying Corn Fritters please and the response will break you. "We are out of those"..... *silence* My husband orders tuna tarte, child grill cheese with fries and Mac n Cheese. *10 minutes later* Arrivés the grill cheese sandwich and fries. We cut it in half and serve each of our boys with the sandwich and fries in their plates. They eat and we wait *10 MORE minutes later * The Mac and Cheese bowl arrives scorching hot as the bowl was put in the oven. The cheese on top was so HARD & burnt it couldn't melt into the Mac, I had to chop the cheese and needless to say our boys didn't eat it as it wasn't cheesy Mac in cheese (melted cheese cheesy). *28 MORE minutes later* Manager/lead/Lady : Hi, we just wanted to let you know that we don't have anymore tuna tarte and the chef would like to make you some calamari on the house. Me: Look at my husband with the nicest nasty face Husband: No Thank You, we will take the check Waitress: Here is your check (as if it was ready already without the tuna tarte). Husband: Is there a reason no one came by to let us know sooner that you were out of the tuna as we wasted hours here Waitress: I don't know, sorry ~ goes to swipe card~ Needless to say, this is a NO GO for me. I tend to give places a second chance before writing a review but the lack of consideration for our time with the compensation being some calamari (which we turned down) how do they know we eat calamari. Real leadership would've asked "what can we do to make this right " to ensure the customer is happy but instead they decided what they wanted to offer (not taking into account anyone dietary needs or restrictions, not even asking the necessary questions). I didn't even take pictures of the two items that did come out. I was so unimpressed. read more

I can here for a work dinner. The space is cozy and has some cool decorations. Our waiter was attentive and offered great suggestions. We started with the deviled eggs and calamari. They were both very good. For dinner, I went with the pork chop. It came with beans and potatoes. For me, the flavors weren't there and it was just okay. If I return, I'd try something else. I like that the menu changes daily so there's always something new to try. read more

44Mills has a cozy atmosphere and the food is made to order and delicious. My husband loves the liver mush croutons and I love the deviled eggs. The specialty drinks are delightful. I have never had a bad meal here. It is slightly pricier than some places in the area, but that is due to the fact that all ingredients are fresh and everything is made from scratch. read more

We just flew into town and needed a bit to eat. Stopped in after 1:00. My wife and I split a lunch of French onion soup. It was good. But then we got the PBLT. Pimento Bacon bla bla bla. We discovered this amazing restaurant after a day of sight seeing in and around Cabarrus County. 44 Mills Kitchen + Tap is a chef-centric establishment that trys to local source as much of its menu as is practicable. And frankly they do a fantastic job. We had the Mini Ham Biscuits with Honey (loved it); Cauliflower & Brussels topped with an egg (Perfect) a #Chicken Sandwhich with a locally baked bun and house salad (Amazing & the salad was a meal itself), and the 44 Mills Mac & Cheese with Smoked Gouda (did not think Mac & Cheese could be that tasty). 44 Mills also has a nice selection of craft beer and an extensive wine and cocktail menu. This is a top tier restaurant that I'd expect to find in a much larger city. The prices are exceptional and are comparable to a local greasy spoon or fast food joint: but you get 5 star food and service; Unbelievable. Is this a come again restaurant for us? Absolutely. My daughter and I had lunch here 2 weeks ago. We both had their cheeseburger, she had fries and I had a side salad with mine. The salad was delicious and the blue cheese dressing was good not great. We like this local joint! The truffle fries are my favorite and I also love their Caesar salad, just be sure to ask for dressing on the side because they put wayyy to much (like salad soup ) last time and I could barely eat it. They have a lot of cool craft cocktails and even mock tails that are delicious! The raspberry white chocolate cheesecake is also very good! We like to support this local business! read more

Everything was delicious. Especially the truffle fries. Take note, I enjoy good ambience and low lighting for dining, when appropriate, but not so low that it's a challenge to read a menu and dine. It was about 6pm that we went so most likely the lighting was dimmed for dinner. We decided to eat outside and the weather was perfect. I will definitely return. Even with low lighting read more

First visit! The feel of the restaurant is very spacious, clean, contemporary and elegant but not stuffy. Cloth napkins are provided but not the kind that leave lint all over your clothes. The service was great and menus are created weekly or daily, I cannot remember. The menus are different for lunch and dinner and the options are freshly prepared and delicious! We had an amazing creme brulee and were wanting some decaf to go with but they do not serve decaf. That was the only negative moment. read more

If I were you... come for some uplifted versions of some fan favorites. Partner and I were celebrating our anniversary so we wanted to treat ourselves with some good local food. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Friday because we're just a toss away from being old fogies. There were still plenty of small tables available so we got seated right away. The room was very pretty - whitish marble painted walls and little modern accents with like classy bar tables and stools. The bar was long - pretty much the length of the restaurant. Very stylish place. The server, Beth, was fantastic. She told us how the menu works with the local items and limited nature. She was very friendly and helpful with getting us samples of a couple beers before I chose one and giving her opinion on livermush (which I've wanted to try since moving to Charlotte). We ended up with a couple appetizers - pimento cheese bread and the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was SO good with a creamy gouda sauce. The cheese bread had livermush croutons that were excellent - they kind of reminded me of crispy corned beef. For entrees, we had the fish & chips and carbonara. The carbonara was deliciously creamy with corn and a beautiful egg yolk. I think the pasta was freshly made. The fish and chips were ok. Oddly, they looked better than they tasted. They all had a good fry on them, but taste-wise they were a little lackluster. Maybe just not seasoned enough? Either way, all the dishes were beautifully prepared and the service was fantastic. I'd definitely come back to try some more. read more

My friend Melanie took me here for the best meal I have had in several months. We ordered cocktails and hot tea that came very quickly. The pasta was rich and delicious. I have never used egg yolk for a pasta sauce with the parmesan and everything else selected for the dish just worked seemlessly. Such a treat! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the brussel sprouts and corn was a fantastic rustic compliment to it. I can't wait to come back with my friend for a different meal. read more

We had the Bacon Cheeseburger - bacony, cheesy goodness, the entire burger is so large you either have to break it down or open wide, very wide. Mac and cheese with smoked Gouda very Gouda Heirloom caprese salad, extremely fresh and tasty. Split between the two of us, we were quite stuffed and left happy and well fed with no regrets. The waitress was a sweetheart, we met the owner who checked to see how everyone in the restaurant was doing and enjoying their meal. What a nice and rare touch. Noticed that they had some beautiful extra beverages, but it was lunch so we refrained. I love supporting local especially when it's done so well!! read more

Very good wedge salad with salmon and brunch. We had the steak and egg skillet and a feta spinach omelette. We also had cheesy grits and a Bloody Mary. The steak was tender and the omelette came with fresh fruit. The drink was divine too. Went on the way into Charlotte and on the way back home to. Twice on one weekend. Five star for us. read more

In the past year or two I had stopped visiting 44 Mills because I was unhappy with the service/food. I tried it again recently and this visit completely changed my perspective. I was greeted immediately at the door with a smile. The seared tuna and livermush appetizer I ordered came out under 10 minutes despite it being a busy Saturday night. My server, Bella, was very attentive and friendly. She was knowledgable of the menu and explained the old fashioned cocktail so well that I was convinced to get one and really enjoyed it smoked. Despite that, we were still "politely asked to leave" while she continued to escalate and lose control. It's frustrating to see this kind of behavior tolerated, especially from someone connected to the staff. Management really needs to do a better job of controlling situations like this and ensuring that employees (on or off the clock) act like adults in a bar setting. Because of this experience, I won't be returning and I'm unsure whether my local friends will continue to frequent this place.

I heard about 44 Mills from an ex-girlfriend who has a history of bad decisions (ie she chose to date me), but I decided to give this place a shot. When we arrived, we were greeted by a highly caffeinated woman who sounded like she just got kicked out of a cab in Brooklyn, but was very nice. She was able to get us a table upfront right away, and then she disappeared with a bottle of bleach and rag in her hand, never to be seen again. I hope she's ok. Our waitress, who was a dead ringer for the person who greeted us, seemed to be like the version of the hostess, only she got a full night's rest the night before (super sweet). She recommended a few things on the menu to us, we took her word, and here is my reaction to each item: Starter: 2 Tacos with BangBang Shrimp - So I'd be lying if I didn't order this strictly to know if Bang Bang shrimp were too hot and heavy adolescent shrimp ready to risk it all, or 2 strapped shrimp telling yo-mama jokes, and one took it too far and Shrimp was about to pop-off. **Total let down, it was just deliciously seasoned shrimps in a bread blanket. The waitress mentioned liking the Beyond Burger and said it with such a passion, I could only think to myself, is this an aggressive marketing tactic claiming to be SO GOOD, that it's beyond the quality of the traditional American hamburger? If it's beyond, I wanna go there. Strap me in and shoot me to Mars Elon. Sold! Bro. It's not even meat. Didn't even realize it till I was licking the plate clean. Super good. I immediately regretted all of the hateful things I've said about Quinoa over the years. Highly recommend. Dessert: I'm a sucker for bread budding. Damnit. Why did they have to have this on the menu. I'm already an easy +20 from this Covid weight gain challenge. Thanks, 44. Real 'team player' y'all are. I'll tell you what. I could smell this thing walking over to our table. The waitress set it down and it looked fresher than Cam Newton at a press conference. Swag city baby. Pretty sure I scared away a few people with how fast I inhaled that bad boy. Didn't even offer my date a bite. Hey, never said she couldn't order one for herself. I'm definitely sleeping on the couch tonight. Still, worth it though. Highly Recommend. I'm giving them 3 instead of 2 stars since they are new and don't have the kinks worked out yet. They don't greet you with a smile or be with you in a moment or anything. You just stand there wondering if you seat yourself or wait to be seated. It may take them a few minutes to get to you if they are busy but they do want you to wait to be seated. The food was not bad but nothing special. A shame as I was looking forward to some exciting new flavors. Don't be fooled....they ONLY serve small tapas plates. I thought the part of the menu was tapas and part was full plates (you would think so from the prices). This isn't the case. Everything is small servings. Which I would love so I can try more things if they were priced as tapas. The wait staff is friendly but frazzled. Like a ship with no Captain. Hopefully they get that worked out soon. Two manager types showed up about half way through but they seemed frazzled too. Maybe try after they have been open a few months but I won't be back. Tell your friends! You've gotta try this place! What FANTASTIC experience! We dipped in to this little spot after a long day. There was plenty of space (due to social distancing) and the we were armly greeted. The hostess was so friendly and explained the drink menu. Our server, Beth, was informative, warm, gracious, and oh so competent! She explained thr seasonal menu and encouraged us in our menu selections. We had the crispy oysters! The sweet creamy corn, bacon, and crispy herbs that accompanied them were super crunching and just perfectly balanced! We had a ceaaar salad that was perfectly dressed and the lettuce was nearly shredded and was perfectly tender and crisp. For an entree... Yes... We were still eating... We had the sea bass and salmon! Just perfect! For the ambiance, the food quality, the service, and the seasonality... I expected small portions... But these were very generous and we could have split one. They were so delicious... We shared! Chef Watson, Stephanie, and Beth... KUDOS to you! We will be back! read more

I had an amazing dining experience at 44 Mills Kitchen! The service was top-notch--our waiter, Sam was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and had a great enthusiasm that made our meal even more enjoyable. The bartender personally brought out my drink and crafted a perfect mixer, which was a nice touch. The food was excellent, especially the customized "44 Million Doburger, which was cooked just right. The beer flights were a great way to sample different options, and everything paired perfectly. The atmosphere was also a highlight--great music, not too crowded, and just an overall welcoming vibe. Stepanie was our server Thursday and she rocked it from sit down till check. She seemed to be constantly behind or around us. Her new glasses looked awesome as well. Bravo Zulu Stephanie! The cocktails and food were excellent thank you Chef and Shannon. The menu has a few mainstays but Chef is diligent about keeping it new and fresh. Shout out to Chef for putting 2/14 on the menu for the night. Recently visited this restaurant. Can honestly say it was the best dine in experience I've had during COVID. Stephanie was our server and she did such a fabulous job at making sure we had everything we needed and more! Recommending the perfect beers based on our groups different tastes to accompany our meals. She really went above and beyond and I will definitely be coming back! I don't live in North Carolina anymore, but when I visit I always make sure to stop here for dinner one night while I'm home. You can't go wrong with the livermush croutons or deviled eggs and the cocktail creations from Brooke are creative and delicious. This was my first time dining at 44 Mills & it was amazing!!! We had a mix of apps that our table shared & it was all so delicious! Our server Maddie was so great & attentive. She brought the kids food out first which was great and they literally ate every bite. I have eaten at 44 Mills multiple times and they never disappoint. Last time I was there I sat at the bar and was waited on by Brooke. She was the bartender that night and was very helpful with drink suggestions and delivered courteous and fast service.
