So let's start this off by saying I'm not political in anyway. We went into Trump tower to grab a drink while our wives were in Tiffany's shopping. I have to say it was very friendly, clean and dare I say cool. Aside from the obvious Trump promotion everywhere, I enjoyed the vibe with Yacht Rock playing in the background sipping on a cold brewski. Would recommend

Awesome place, however they quit serving food Monday & Tuesday. I came for a drink and meal, ambiance is also amazing and service is great. Overall an awesome experience, if I come back I'll be ordering food hopefully

Trump Tower is magnificent and it's hard to believe it's made of cement, not steel. True, the building is poured cement! But whatever, they did it that way and it came out great. Wish my visit to 45 Whiskey and Wine was as impressive as Trump Tower itself, but hey, no joke, there were flaws ... but they weren't obvious unless you're on to the nuances like me, Foo! "Hi," said the hostess, "Are you Foo? Dr. Foo Ling?" "Yes, I am," I said proudly and I was so souped to be recognized already here at 45. "I have a message for you. Don Jr. says he can't make it for drinks but he wants you to know his dad says "Hi" and that everything is comped." "He can't make it?" "Nope, sorry but I'll get your table set up." And with that she turned around and walked somewhere, I have no clue where, and disappeared. Then my iPhone's haptics went off and it was a text from Don Jr. and it went, "Dude, sorry I'm so jammed up here, will be done in a hour now, stopping by, hope you're still there." As I was texting back "we'll see" the hostess walks by and nonchalantly looks at me and goes, "Yeah, your table, it's right this way. So, the table is nice but sparse, no flowers, roll ups, menu, linens ... just an empty table. Then a series of two waiters come by and sort of pretend to be waiters. They tell me there's no food and then seem to reluctantly take a drink order. Drinks were great, 45's, the signature cocktail with a big ice cube marked "T" on it in a real boss kinda way. So far my time at 45 really sucks. Don Jr. blows me off, the hostess is nice but ineffectual and these two waiters are one stooge short of a comedy. But then, reality sets in and all is good again. You see there's a bartender, a young lady who is working her tail off making drinks, serving cocktails, entertaining patrons at the bar, cleaning up and in general she is the only one at all trying to earn their wage. The other folks should punch the clock and let someone with some initiative grab the stacks of Benjamin's as mad grat from the peeps who love 45. As I'm finishing my 45, my phone rings and it's Don Jr. I'm like, "Hey man, sorry you're jammed up but you should see what's going on down here. There's four people working and only one brings any value." Don Jr. says, "Bartender, young lady in a MAGA hat who's showing urgency and work ethic?" "Yes, that's the one." "Yeah, that's Lara's cousin, she's on point."

In a city known for overpriced food and drink, this place takes it to a new level. Will not be returning.

Depending on how long guests stay sometimes those seats are available as a first come first served so we were lucky. Our server was great and she explained the menu. I opted for the chefs menu which did not disappoint. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. It was fun to try everything including their starter course of three items. The oyster miso was quite a stand out for me. All of the fish prepared was delicate and lovely. The Parker rolls were soft and a nice complement. My friend who is less adventurous with seafood opted for their shrimp tempera roll, which was as good as you could make a shrimp tempera roll. Well prepared as well as their charcuterie board which we could not finish after everything. It was a memorable night I won't forget with nice entertainment and great staff. My partner held my hand as we walked back to the hotel which never happens. Quite a night thank you!

It's a low key establishment from the outside but once you are in it feels a lot more trendy. The stage is right in the front and all the tables can get a good view of the stage. The music can be loud at times and the ambience is more on the dimly lit side but still a great spot. The service was great, and the drink selection was cool too. I would definitely pick from the selection of speciality cocktails. I got the smoked old fashioned (or similar) and that was potent, Smokey and delicious. We also got a few bites to eat. Other than the tuna tartare (didn't feel fresh) everything we got was nice - nigiri combo, kimchi fried rice, kings toast.... Nice drinks, nice atmosphere, good food and great service!!

(This review is concerning the Round Table restaurant section of the Algonquin- part of the issue…read moreis it's really not clear where the Blue Bar ends and the Round Table begins! It's all the Algonquin, so..) It's a rough realization to learn that one more former New York institution has slightly fallen from grace. The Algonquin is storied and imposing, with a history that should demand respect- at least, it used to be. Now, it's another cool building in midtown that you could easily walk right by. I visited tonight for a quick dinner before a show; nothing extensive. The food was ultimately fine (overpriced) but the service was poor. From the two people sitting at the front desk who didn't bother to pause their conversation to direct us when we walked in, to the server who walked over and literally said "Hi. What do you want?" when we sat (ourselves, by the way) to the gentleman by the door who never looked up from his phone as we left, my overall impression is a burnt out and disinterested staff who has absolutely no interest in even pretending to care about an atmosphere of hospitality. My partner's burger was good, well cooked; my turkey sandwich looked like something that had been purchased from a suburban deli and cut into triangles. (I was unimpressed that for $32, they couldn't even spare the expense of a nice ciabatta and instead stuck with WonderBread style Country White.) The French fries were good, and there were plenty. I will credit the fact that once we moved sections to escape a noisy table neighbor, a second waiter attended to us who was much kinder. I was, however, slightly bemused when I asked for a side of mayo and got handed an all-but-empty Hellman's squeeze bottle. Overall- confusing is the word. If you're a New Yorker fan, stop by for a cocktail and fries- but be prepared to seat yourself.

This is the replacement for both the old Blue Bar and the former Round Table Restaurant…read more Even though the two former venues have been combined in theory, the resulting space is much smaller. The old Blue Bar was much larger, had a separate entrance, and far more blue, everywhere. The new one has just a faint streak of blue neon above the bar. The old Round Table had two rooms. The drinks are good but the quality of service from the bartenders varies greatly. Some are friendly and helpful, others not. The grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup was excellent, but a tiny portion for $25.

We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

The shepherd's pie is insanely salty and it's very off-putting. It was inedible. I was looking forward to having it but I would not in good faith recommend this to anyone. The buttermilk tenders is supposed to come with pickled shallots and marinated green beans. We didn't get the pickled shallots or the marinated green beans, which was a shame. The chicken tenders by themselves didn't have much flavor. It also is unfortunate paying $17 for what was considered a small plate and just getting the chicken tenders. The Asian-sesame wings were okay. Also, didn't have much flavor and weren't that impressive. There was also still hair on some of the pieces of chicken, so the chicken could have been cleaned better. They have fries and hand cut fries. The regular fries were soggy. Should have went with the hand cut fries. The tater tots were okay. I was told that the chicken sandwich was good. It came with a little side of rustic chips. I would not come back for the food but I would possibly go back to try a drink if I was in the area. The drink menu looked pretty good.
