Amazing food at an unexpected location. Dervish Turkish hit the spot. Came here for iftaar, and surely they raised the bar. I ordered the cige kofte and Mixed Grill platter for 3 and was pleasantly surprised. The kofte was greatly seasoned and the meat from The platter was so flavorful, and NOT DRY! The platter came with shredded lettuce and pickled cabbage. The interior of the restaurant is nice and pretty, and servers were all attentive. I would definitely come back, bringing both family and friends.

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a 12:00 PM reservation. It was pretty empty to our surprise with maybe two other tables with children. We were greeted by the friendly staff and seated promptly. Parking is a lot for the complex right in front. The space is bright, open and inviting and plenty of natural lighting. The menu is great with lots of options and I would say overall evening is shareable portion wise. For our party if 4 adults and two children we ordered: Table was serviced piping hot bread with side of olive oil SO FRESH AND HOT! Please note they do brush the top with egg so for the allergy folks an FYI GROUND BEEF PİDE (5/5) Thin crust/dough really flavorful topping ground beef and diced peppers. Would love to try the one with cheese next time! Tabouleh salad (5/5) fresh yummy and delightful! Grilled platter (5/5) that came with variety of meats a salad and rice Side of fries (5/5) crispy, piping hot and delish very big portion Okra dish (4/5) saucy and flavorful I would've liked the okra to be bigger pieces but other than that it was great They offer a variety of refreshments, desserts and it is BYO would definitely come back.

This was our first time here. We had heard from people we know and the social media videos and photos looked very appetizing. They took us immediately upon entry, we had a reservation. I will say the everything we ate was amazing. The meal over all was probably one of the best meals we have had at a restaurant in years of this type of cuisine and probably anything. Everything was cooked perfectly. The dishes we had came out at a good pace as well. We will return because of how good the food was. Two things annoyed me immensely that occurred but since the food was so good I kind of let it go but both have never happend to us ever in all of our years of dining anywhere 1 - when the server brought our check he said "we close in 10 minutes" it was 9:50. I understand that staff may want to go home at a reasonable time however to say that to us at the end of the meal, totally deflated me specifically. Additionally other tables were still on entrees around us. Again I have never had this happen anywhere and would be curious if they do this to all the patrons. Obviously not because others were still eating. We also were done with everything. 2 - it is BYOB - we brought wines and the server opened it. However at the end of the meal I had brought Arak and Sambuca to have with coffee and dessert and the server said "we don't allow hard liquor yet" I guess that's some kid of weird policy they have but it's unheard of anywhere that has and allows BYOB. We bring after dinner drinks and sometimes before dinner drinks everywhere that's BYOB and never in our lives has this happened. I did not say anything then because why bother if that's their policy. Very unusual Again the food was amazing. I still can't shake that he told us they were closing in 10 minutes.

A Turkish restaurant in my hometown of Cedar Grove?! Yes please!! OVERALL: When I found out about this place, I had to go. Generally, my small town of Cedar Grove doesn't have much going on the way of food. I was thrilled that Dervish opened up and I've been here a few times and will continue to come back! They are often busy so I do recommend getting a reservation in advance. FOOD: Everything I've had here has been good! I was especially happy with the soup I got, although it wasn't as good when I got it the second time. AMBIANCE: It's actually a reasonably large space, with nice decor. SERVICE: Good! No complaints. Nice and attentive.

Really nice place, beautiful decor, with wonderful service. Loved that everything was a la carte. I loved the lentil soup and my husband enjoyed the pide, he just said he wished the dough was a bit crispier. My only complaint is I wish there were more vegetarian options!

    Mixed grill. $38

Saturday afternoon was completely empty. Sat outside. Service was fast and friendly. Large portions but meat was just ok. Nothing special. I needed to salt everything. Lacked spice or interesting flavor. Vegetable that came with entrees was just lettuce and a ton of raw onion.

Me and my boyfriend's first time having Turkish food. The restaurant is set up beautifully and the decor is very nice. We got an appetizer, 2 meals and 2 desserts and it came out to about $110 including tip. We both thought the food was delicious! We will definitely be back to try something different next time! The food came in a timely manner. We went on Friday around 5:40 and was able to walk right in without a wait! Would highly recommend, everything was absolutely delicious!

Pide with mixed toppings was delicious!

My friend picked Dervish for a recent dinner outing. The restaurant feels new, clean, and has tons of natural light. The seating is comfortable. The staff were all professional and helped us select a nice range of dishes. Baba ganoush, labneh, roasted eggplant in tomato sauce, shepherds salad, and the mixed toppings pide and the fried liver served as a nice appetizer round. The mixed grill and manti in yogurt dressing were excellent as a shared main course. The ground kebab was especially good, nice flavor and texture. Definitely an enjoyable dinner!

I've ordered from this restaurant once before but this time my husband and I actually went to Dervish. We absolutely loved it - the food and service were fantastic. Vibe was also great in the restaurant. This will definitely be added to our go to restaurant roster. We had Lentil Soup The Cold App Platter Pide with added egg Onion Kebab (Special) Turkish Coffee Baklava Rice pudding

    Calf Liver appetizer was exceptional
    Simi B.

Loved the simplicity and clean ambiance. The service was really good, they recommended we try the calf liver fry which was superb, no smell(I sometimes can't eat liver if it has a peculiar unavoidable smell) but this one was very well prepared and seasoned just right! Ali Nazik with lamb cubes was too good(also recommended by our server) and the Pistachio Kunefe was yummy but a tad bit too sweet. Onion kebabs were good too but not as yummy as the Ali Nazik :-) We will definitely visit again!

First of all, the bread comes out hot and toasted. It's perfect. Everything is super fresh. I loved the shepherd salad. Walnuts were lovely touch in the Lebni - I would like it to have more garlic but was delicious anyway. Service was on great. And the decor is very pleasant. It's a byob and it gets busy so call ahead. Can't wait to try more of Their delicious dishes.

Hidden Turkish Gem! The food was delicious! The service was on point. The restaurant is clean and had good decor. Suggestion to the owner/manager: increase the size and angle of the signage by the road, to take advantage of the cars passing by 46. We only manage to find the restaurant via gps.

I was actively looking to try a new restaurant in the area when Dervish came across my Yelp feed. I pass this restaurant often and decided to make a reservation for a Saturday night. My expectations were definitely exceeded! First of all, the restaurant itself is beautiful. It has a great ambiance and atmosphere. Modern but traditional at the same time. It was so hard to order since everything on the menu sounded delicious. We settled in the Turkish pizza as an app which was wonderful. So flavorful and crispy. I could have eaten 3 portions. I had lamb and buy boyfriend had kofte. Each entree was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. We also loved the bread they served. It was so thin and light. I highly recommended giving this place a try. I would make a reservation since every table, indoors and outdoors, was full!

We've gotten their mixed platters (for 2 and for 4 in a bigger party) which always includes lamb chops, chicken chops, doner, shish kebab, chicken kebab, Adana and a Turkish meatball alongside rice/bulgur and cheesy bread, red cabbage pickle, and salad. Always fantastic with meats cooked to utter perfection. We've also tried the yogurtlu doner with tomato sauce which is solid, but not my fav. Shepherds salad seems unassuming but is FANTASTIC. Hummus is mid-tier but passable. Adana Kebab is absolute perfection and a little spicy and delivers very well too. We also tried their onion kofte kebab special which I wasn't sure about at first since I'm not a huge fan of lamb that tastes like lamb but it grew on me fast -- a little sweet and sour, tangy, and extremely rich from the fattiness in the meatballs. Truly a perfect plate, though perhaps not everyone's cup of tea. The service is always attentive and not overbearing. The restaurant is massive, clean, and always has patrons -- very cute interior and lots of booth options (yay!) Desserts are solid though I feel they are a touch overpriced. I enjoyed the ice cream and the lava cake. Dervish has become a staple in our comfort food rotation.

My husband was craving Mediterranean food and while researching options, we stumbled across Mandaloun. I have no doubt that sooner or later, getting a table here will be impossible because the food is that delicious. We didn't have a reservation but they still accommodated us with genuine hospitality. Our waiter, Marcelo, was exceptional, super attentive, warm, and went the extra mile without ever being overbearing. He gave us the perfect recommendations and took his time pointing them out. I started with the babaghanoush, and let me tell you... it was the best I've ever had. And we just visited the Mediterranean recently, nothing compared to this. It was savory, smoky, and downright addictive. I only wish I had more pita chips to scoop it all up. The hummus sampler was also delicious. We asked Marcelo for more bread and he delivered. For our mains, we ordered the mixed platter of meats and the short rib. Every morsel was perfection, so tender and flavorful it was unreal. Every bite melted like butter. Talk about comfort food at its best. The chef even came out to greet us, and I told him, "Sir... your food is amazing." I cannot wait to go back! This is money well spent, and I already told my husband I want to bring all my friends here. Also, important tip: It's BYOB, so don't forget to bring your favorite wine. I wish I knew beforehand, but we'll definitely come prepared next time. Mandaloun has earned two new loyal customers. Highly, highly recommend. Wow!!! SIMPLY AMAZING! The place is pretty inside too. Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.

For dinner I ordered the beef shish kebab. It came with two kebab. The beef tasted delicious with the Turkish style marinade. I think it would have been more worth if they added another kebab stick. The pistachio rice was good. It was a different taste with nice almonds slices. The only negative were the kebabs and rice were cold like the onion salad. And I loved the onion salad. We also ordered the salmon artichoke. The pan seared salmon was over cooked. They should have seared it in a shorter time. And it lacked seasoning believe it or not! The artichoke Brussels were a little on the burnt side. The spicy tomato sauce tasted more like ketchup. We will not be ordering this in the future. We also ordered a side of fries and Tahini brussels. The fries weee very tasty and I savored every piece. The Brussels were tasty as well. For dessert, we ordered rice pudding and baklavas. Both weee very good.
