This is my first experiencing writing a outstanding review on a moving company; 495 Moving company is based in Rockville MD. After an exhausting search and reading all the online reviews I decided to take a chance on "495 Moving Company". I contacted 495 Moving Company and spoke to Monti; I explained that my time was limited and without any hesitation Monti came over on a Sunday to give me a quote on the cost of the move. Once the initial arrangements were made it was not long before the moving date approached, the day before I received a call from 495 Moving Company to confirm the time and the number of individuals to expect. On the day of the packing the supervisor (David) called to let us know they on their way. 495 Moving Company send over three men; David, Leo and Afin; they were phenomenal. I noticed that each piece was wrapped with extreme care; furniture was double wrapped with blankets and then wrapped with plastic wrap. They packed for over ten hours...at the end of the day the men were still in a great disposition considering all they have accomplished. By the end of the day I already knew that the identical crew was going to arrive early to unpack all my belongings almost 200 miles away which meant that they would leave at 5:00 am. I have moved multiple times throughout my life and I have had unpleasant experiences. So, I was overwhelmed with the experiences I have had regarding 495 Moving Company and crew especially David, Leo and Afin. With that being said I will definitely hire 495 Moving Company and recommend them to my friends and family without any hesitation. On a final note the crew displayed professionalism, was efficient and had upbeat attitudes. They affirm that all my things would arrive in intact; ensuring that I was happy and that I realized that each item would be taken care of as if the item was their own. My family and I recently moved to a new county about 1.5 hours from our previous home. We moved from a 5 bedroom / 4.5 bathroom house to a house with the same amount of bedrooms/bathrooms. After researching a few of the most recommended movers in our area, we decided on 495 Movers and were not disappointed. The lead sales rep, Tom Yospe, was very professional. We were offered as many boxes as we needed at no additional cost, which was a great selling point for us. They provided a reasonable quote for 2 trucks and 6 movers and aimed to complete the move within one day (12 hours). This also included taking down our large playground set in the backyard and reassembling it at the new house. On the moving day, the movers arrived right on schedule at 8am and began loading the trucks with our packed boxes. They even helped us box up some remaining items (including our basement) and packed all of our closets for us (including two master bedroom walking closets that were pretty full). We were even able to enjoy our last Sunday at church while they packed up our house and backyard playground set. By the time we arrived back at the house after church (around 12:30pm) everything was already loaded on the trucks, with the exception of a few small items. Once we arrived at the new house, we did not need to lift a finger. The movers took car of everything. All we had to do was unpack the specialty closet boxes so that the movers could take those boxes back with them. The movers finished the move in exactly 12 hours (same day), just as was quoted to us. This was by far the best moving experience we ever had and we will definitely recommend everyone we know to use 495 Movers for any future moves. Five star service, for sure. We just completed a large East coast move (600 miles+) and 495 Moving was great to work with and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others!  My wife and I spent a significant amount of time researching moving companies (from van lines to local companies), and ended up getting 5-6 quotes for our large out-of-state move. 495 wasn't the cheapest, but they were very competitive, and most importantly, they were rock solid from beginning to end once the move began.  The negotiation / pre-contract signing was the only so-so part of the experience, just given that there was quite a bit of back and forth, and several different POCs. At the end of the day, 495 did a really solid job on the work we were contracting them to do (the actual move part), so my concerns pre-signing are more just splitting hairs. Our unpacking is still in progress, but all of the furniture, picture frames, TVs, etc were all expertly protected and made it unharmed. We even had them pack a very delicate homemade dollhouse (quite large and heavy) and it too arrived in the same condition as when we left. We had 6 guys load us, and they were very thorough in both packing as well as marking every box.  Once at our new home, we had 3 guys unload us (after a very windy single lane driveway was navigated), with Milton as the lead on the unpack.  He was great to work with, as were Ismael and Omar.  I would not hesitate to recommend 495 Moving and especially if you have the opportunity to work with Milton and his team. This was a really big move, one that was stress inducing to say the least, and 495 made the moving part easy, as they arrived when they said they would, loaded/packed our stuff with care, and demonstrated their expertise at what they do.  Highly recommend! read more

Exceptional Moving Experience from Maryland to Florida! We recently moved from Maryland to Florida, and we cannot praise this moving company enough. From start to finish, they exceeded all of our expectations and made what could have been a stressful experience into a seamless and even enjoyable one. The team was incredibly professional, responsive and helpful. They answered all my questions, provided a detailed quote, and worked with us to create a moving plan that fit our needs perfectly. On the day of the move, the crew arrived right on time, in uniform, and ready to work. Their professionalism was evident in everything they did. We were amazed at how carefully and efficiently they handled our furniture and belongings. Every item, from the smallest knick-knack to the largest piece of furniture, was treated with the utmost care. They wrapped, padded, and secured everything so well that we didn't have to worry about a single thing. The movers were incredibly organized, and they worked swiftly without sacrificing quality. Not one thing was broken or was damaged. The moving crew was not only skilled but also incredibly friendly and courteous. Their positive attitudes and willingness to go the extra mile made the experience truly exceptional. Once in Florida - on the promised day - the team again impressed us with their efficiency and care. They unloaded everything quickly and placed each item exactly where we wanted it in our new home. These guys are amateurs, combative, and game players with contracts. Jacob kept talking about giving great customer service in the beginning, then after i revised my items in the contract he kept sending the original version that didn't have the changes in it. That meant that at the end of the move if an item i'd added was gone, they could claim i never had it because it wasn't on the list. He and the owner - an Israeli guy with a bald head - said not to worry about packing anything, especially the kitchen, they'd do a professional job. Then i found them randomly throwing various things into boxes with no bubble wrap - just a layer of paper! (that's a professional packing job?). it was like they were in a rush to get the job done and just get my money. They put heavy pans on top of delicate crystal (later broken) and didn't mark any of the boxes they packed. So I spent days unpacking randomly tossed together stuff, like living room items in kitchen items and bedroom items in family room items. It was a mess. And the truck took TWICE AS LONG AS THEY SAID IT WOULD to get there. They made a big deal of saying they were approved by the Better Business Bureau. Check that. The BBB only has them listed as being in business a year and a half. The owner claims he's been in business for 7 years. So why isn't that the case with the BBB? Probably because they changed their name to cover their tracks with past screw ups. They made a big deal of wanting final payment in cash. I did it but thought it was suspicious. We had absolutely great service from 495 Movers during our very complex move. In April 2013 Rudy and his crew moved us out of our house in Columbia, MD and into a storage facility about 90 miles away over two days. In July 2013, Rudy and most of the same crew came back and moved us from storage into our new house. They even made a stop (near the old house) to pick up even more of our stuff headed to the new house. In setting up both moves we dealt with the owner, Moti Kachlon. He is a smart, knowledgeable and very helpful guy. Moti gave us a price based on hours of work for the crew plus travel time, and for a second truck on one of the days. His estimate of time came in very close to the actual hours worked. His crew delivered exactly what he promised at the price we agreed upon. A big plus was that 495 Movers supplied us with new or clean boxes, tape, paper and other wrapping materials. We did much of the packing before the crew arrived but they were more than willing to wrap up some of the items we couldn't deal with. They disassembled and blanket wrapped our larger furniture and even moved our baby grand piano as part of the deal. We saw the moving crew over three different days. They were invariably courteous and willing to do what we asked. They were incredible strong and we were continually amazed at the things they were able to move by one man. They worked three long and hard days with us and never let up. We were glad we used 495 Movers and would not hesitate to use them again. Well done guys! read more

We've moved a lot in the past 3 years due to my husbands work. Out of all the moving companies we used, 495 blew the others out of the water! We had a storage unit to load up first. The three guys they sent were early, fast, and effitient. I had a large wall mirror that I didn't wrap when I stored it. They wraped it in blankets, then wrapped it with cardboard boxes, and then seran wrapped it. It only took them 30 mins at the storage unit, and then we went over to our apartment to load up. Because we were so early, we didn't have access to the service elevator. When I told the guys we had to wait, they offered to take the stairs! Luckily we got the elevator early so they only took a couple of trips up the stairs. They protected all of our furniture and I was so surprised with how fast they were while still being so careful. We moved into a brand new house we had just built. They didn't scuff a single wall, and they put down protective runners on the hardwood and carpet. Our quote was for 7 hours, at $1,155, but when they recalculated the time it ended up being $742! We have already recommended 495 to two other friends of ours. I am sorry I can't remember the names of our movers, but they were so nice! Luckily we wont be moving again for a very very long time, but I would use these guys again in a heart beat! read more

Over the past two days, with enormously capable support from 495 Movers, we have moved house. We have downsized from our two-storey colonial SFH to a compact 4-level townhouse in a new development. In common with many empty nesters who have lived in the same home for 15 years, we've accumulated a lot of furniture and other items which are flatteringly described as 'clutter' but more accurately classified by other less polite terms. Perhaps, in fact, even more clutter than average, and we were both so daunted by the task of moving that we decided to have everything packed for us, so 495 came in and quoted for the entire job. Somewhere around the middle of the first day when their amazing foreman Julio called for reinforcements and a second van, we think they realized that they might have underestimated the task themselves. Nevertheless, they honored their original quote and worked incredibly hard for two full days to make our move as smooth and incident free as possible, and for that we are very grateful. They were courteous and polite, unfailingly obliging and careful not to damage anything, including the home we left and the one we were moving into. I have no hesitation in recommending 495 Movers - and Julio and his team in particular - to anyone looking for professional and capable movers. Thanks guys, great job! read more

These guys are THE Best movers in the area, hands-down. From start to finish my experience with them was absolutely top-notch. Other movers want to nickel and dime you for boxes, tape and packing material, not these guys! Other movers will say they will be there at a certain time only to have you waiting around, not these guys! They were prompt and even got to our house earlier than expected the morning of the move. Other movers will seem to be intentionally lagging during your move in order to charge a higher rate for more time spent, not these guys! They worked FAST, to the point where I couldn't even fathom how they were getting my stuff down five flights of stairs so quickly (this was an intense move with limited items able to fit in my ancient elevator). Other movers will skimp on the material used to protect your items, not these guys! They wrapped everything in cardboard, blankets and cellophane and there wasn't one scratch on one single item or anywhere on my walls or doors. Don't even hesitate to go with 495 Movers, seriously. They are worth every penny that they charge and the 3 guys they sent out were extremely professional and warranted every bit of the tip they received. a month ago i started to look for a moving company that will be able to help me with all of my needs . i have a large house with five rooms and a very expensive furniture that my mothers mother a humble to me . i had to be sure i am choosing the right company that can handle me :) and my staff carefully . i began my search for the best without compromise !!! thanks to yelp-er ,BBB and 3 people from my work that had experience with 495 movers i chose them to help with my move. and i am so happy i did so. they finish every thing in 1 day even do that to me it looks like 3 day . they come with a team of 5 people so professional ON TIME (8:00 no excuses of traffic). they cover all my furniture with so many packing material that you could not say if it is my couch or my table . my piano was so important to me and the way they loud it down i know i chose the best company i could !!! from the first moment i got all the information i need no hiding charges it is all was very simple . i just want to help other as other help me to chose the right company. and i must to add it was not easy to find the right company i found so many company that will do every thing to book with you the job but they are a big liars i was in shocked when read their contract that must of the people just sign on it . be careful. read more

495 movers are the best movers I have ever used. They arrived earlier than expected, went right to work, protected my furniture beautifully, including my priceless grandfather clock. They moved me under the most horrendous circumstance; we arrived at my new place and the tenants were not finished moving out as promised. We had to leave and come back 1 1/2 hrs. later when we could start moving in. The garage was filled from ceiling to floor with the tenants belongings and so the movers had to use stairs up to the front door. They did it without complaining as well as comforting me as I was crying hysterically over the horrendous circumstances. We had to sweep each room before putting in furniture and they helped me with that. I am happy with the price of the move; David and his crew were efficient and helpful as they moved in my furniture; and not only that, David and his crew understood what terrible circumstances I was facing as I was moving in and were understanding. They were professional and efficient. Tom Y. who did my move estimate was professional, respectful and was very insightful about the difficulties and stress of moving. We used 485 Movers for two major moves and one storage of a lot of items for over 7 months. The first move was interstate move of a truckload of our household items from Potomac, MD to Naples Florida. The second move was also from. our home in Potomac to 495 Movers' storage facilities for items that were stored for 7 months until January 10 when they were delivered back to our new home in Potomac, MD. We had a lot of antiques, valuable items, Piano, and over 100 pieces of art. The movers from 495Movers did a phenomenal job. Their foremen and packing experts were very well trained. The entire operation for both moves and then the move back from storage was conducted to our full satisfaction with no damage or delays. Josh was my initial contact and great to work with. He managed the entire process very smoothly and is an asset to any organization. Kira Claggett was my regular POC -- very friendly, attentive and always very helpful with a culture of getting the job done. Our entire experience with 495 Movers was superb and Nate, the COE of 495 Movers, should be commended for running a fantastic organization. I need a moving company to pack up my house and move the inventory to storage, pending my final move. I did my research on Angie's List, Next Door, and Home Advisor, and requested info from 5 companies. Dean called me within five minutes of my clicking 'send', and was very informative, helpful, and friendly. The company was very flexible in working with my changing needs. On move day, I got a call from Antonio letting me know they were 20 minutes away. The entire crew was friendly, respectful, and professional. They were incredibly careful with my belongings and my house - no bumps, crashes, or other alarming sounds that I've experienced with previous moves. They communicated well throughout the day so I knew everyone was on the same page as far as what was going and what was staying, which I really appreciated. They were efficient and diligent, incredibly strong and hardworking. They were also helpful in moving some items that weren't getting loaded, which was also very much appreciated, as these were big, heavy items. I simply could not have asked for a better crew. From the very beginning, when I first reached out to 495 Movers and spoke to one of the owners, Moti, the experience has been nothing but a pleasure. I used 495 movers to move my household from Maryland to Georgia back in October. The move was perfect thanks to this moving company. They packed and shipped all of my furniture, framed art, extensive book collection, to Georgia within 2 days - and I had a lot of furniture and other items! I did not have to worry about any aspect of the move. There were no hidden costs sprung on me at the last minute , which is what lot of other moving companies do. The movers were professional, polite and on time. Luis was so professional and responsive in facilitating all of the details of the move and Freddie, David, Paul and the rest of the crew worked very hard to pack, and ship my things in Maryland and then deliver, unpack and set-up all of my furnishings in the Georgia home. They did not leave my new home until I was happy with the delivery, set-up and placement of the furniture. I had occasion to do business again with the company just recently and again, they did an awesome job. The owner called me back within minutes (AFTER HOURS!) of me placing a request for a quote online. Did an excellent job of explaining all my options and helped get me setup with a quote. Be certain to mention you found them via Yelp! I sprung for the all-inclusive rate which is a fixed hourly rate that includes unlimited amounts of packing materials like blankets, tape, shrink wrap, cardboard sleeves for glass, and boxes. While we had 95% of our stuff ready to go, that last 5% is all sort of odds and ends. The incredibly efficient moving team had all of that stuff carefully wrapped and boxed for us in no time! While we ended up going over the quoted number of hours a bit, it was totally our fault for underestimating how much STUFF we had. I suggest being as thorough as possible while filling out the inventory pages that come with your quote so these guys send the right size team and truck. We've moved 4 times in the past 6 years. This was by far the BEST experience we've had. ZERO damage, and wow did these guys move fast -- ALL DAY! Easily 5 stars. Too bad I can't rate a 6. :) read more

My most recent move was this past weekend and Josh was very responsive and helpful leading up to, on the day of and after the move to ensure that all went smoothly and answered any questions I had. The packing materials were included -- which saved me a lot of money -- and the price was very affordable, and exactly what I was quoted. The crew that came was very professional, courteous and did a fantastic job. Nothing broke, no scratches -- everything went very, very smoothly. It surprises me every time how quickly, yet carefully, these guys can move everything out of my apartment and into the next - navigating often bad corners or tight spaces. I used 495 Movers for a move from DC to LA. I found them through one of those moving sites where they send your request for a quote to a lot of companies. Jacob was on the phone within an hour, was polite, professional, and patient with me. He took the time to explain the entire process, wasnt pushy when I said I wanted to check with my wife, and followed up a few days later in a professional manner. The crew he sent out was on time, careful with our things, and fast. Ask for Alex, Marcus, and Travis for your move. As a bonus, Jacob threw in some extra storage time in their warehouse for free. When we arrived in LA, our stuff came 2 weeks sooner than the contract stipulated, in perfect condition. The price we paid for this move was a bit over what the lowball moving companies quoted me, but well under what the big names quoted. Further, I paid exactly what I was quoted, and they never tried to add on fees, or hold our stuff hostage. I moved from MD to CA Smooth, pain free experience ! After searching through many moving companies, I spoke to 495 Movers and they were very professional and answered all my questions. I was hesitant in the beginning as I thought it was impossible for our move to be this easy without a single problem- but with 495 Movers the move really was smooth and great. They gave me a quote and stuck to it- my main concern was that it would be more and there would be all these "hidden costs", but no! They were upfront and went through the quote with me and explained everything. The guys that came to collect our stuff made sure all our furniture was wrapped perfectly, they were fast and very efficient. Not a single item of ours was broken or damaged and we had a lot of little odds and ends that could've easily been broken. The logistics team kept in contact throughout the move and sent me updates and answered any question i had. I would highly recommend this company as the move could not have been easier!
