    History looking back
    Randy P.

So much had high hopes for the return of 4B's to Missoula. This is a Montana landmark that has tried to hang on to the ever changing market. No one wants to post a bad review but there is nothing new here except for the face lift and workers. Food is ok, nothing special, but if you're looking for something inexpensive and will fill the hole in your luck. We came for breakfast and to say "yep we were here". No I do not foresee myself coming back here. Parking is bad about 20 spots, neighboring property clearly marked "no Parking " . Who was the Einstein that thought this through. Now grant it they are close to the University and will pick up a lot of foot traffic. For the money there are better options. That is my opinion.

Good food and good price. The Southwestern omelette had far more chorizo than I thought they'd give me. I wouldn't really call the sauce on top Verde sauce, but it was still good. Give them a try if you haven't.

I love breakfast and I love soup. This place does my tummy good because they rock at both of them. My favorite is the tomato soup with a ton of crackers. You cant beat it.

Single seating up front, after you enter building. This is to the right of the main cash register.

Super busy last night, but glad I went. Went with the delicious Montana Ranch steak, after their classic cream of tomato soup. There was a nicely steamed baked potato, with butter and sour cream on the side. Finished with their classic, highlighted tuxedo chocolate cheese cake. Yum! It was a fun evening, with attentive service. Booth on the right side of restaurant was fine. All in, with tip, about $23. Can recommend them. (Glad they're back in Zootown.) Mentioned to manager please add wifi.

    Great presentation

I've enjoyed their restaurants since the 1970's and I usually find it consistently great! EVERY business in America is currently struggling with lack of motivation among their staff and yet... When My wife and I ate at this restaurant in July of 2019 at 2pm. We had excellent service from a young man named Jamie who was very helpful and took good care of all his customers. We had questions about gluten free items and he communicated well with the chef/cook and provided just what we needed. The atmosphere was light and friendly. We will be back on our next trip through Missoula.

    Superb view

Terrific homemade food. Try the homemade tomato soup. And the whole wheat bread is the best for sandwiches. Good food at reasonable prices. Friendly service. I will return.

There is plenty of seating throughout, so even with a big crowd, it does not feel overly cramped. The menu is a little on the smaller side, but there seems to be enough variety that I would imagine there is something for everyone. I got the ginger pork lettuce wraps and they were really good! They were pretty difficult to actually assemble, so I eventually gave up and ate everything more like a salad. The pork was absolutely delicious, though, and easily the highlight of the dish. Service was a little spotty, although we were a very large group, so I am sure that made things more difficult. Drinks were frequently missed or came out incorrectly, and our server had to reconfirm some orders multiple times. That said, they were incredibly nice and friendly throughout, which definitely helped. Overall, Top Hat Lounge is a great place to hang out, especially if you want a lot of space, a fun atmosphere, and live music. The service could have been smoother, but I would definitely come back.

I ordered a an OG cheeseburger with cheese, onions, ketchup and mustard. The guy got mad at me, I could litter see the frustration on his face and I had to apologize and tell him it was my first time there. He picked something else off the menu for me and said it was a better choice. I payed $15.00 for a burger and fries. The burger was small. Maybe 3 inches across and the fries were stale and hard like they had been sitting under a heat lamp forever. The atmosphere presented as a luxury well put together restaurant but they provided fast food service and takeout. Didn't know whether I was at Macdonald's or a fine dining restaurant. Also I could probably get a burger quarter pounder and fries from Macdonald's and have more for then what I got at this place. Also the burger was so greasy it was dripping in it. It wasn't even five minutes after eating before I was rushing home feeling sick from the food. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever. If you go there bring something for your stomach cause you will need it afterwards.

It was suggested that I get reservations, but since I was only one person, I found a spot at the bar. The servers were super attentive and friendly. They were also really knowledgeable about the wines as well as the food. It's a steakhouse, but I was craving fish, so I got the salmon at the advice of the bartender. He was not wrong, it was incredible. They got the crisp of the skin just right. I discovered gamay noir wine for the first time! I can't believe I've never had this. It's absolutely delightful! It is complex while also being light and refreshing. The inside of the restaurant is nice and perfectly lit. It is great for a date or to come out with friends. They really show that sweet montana hospitality. If u am ever back in Missoula, I'm coming back for that salmon and that Gamay Noir!
