    Tofu bowl

I had a tofu bowl & it was pretty good. Nice spicy kick. $7 for a salad bowl is not expensive...let alone in a museum. People in this state love complaining!

Packed out Saturday! (Order online for pickup recommended!)

Cute little cafe inside the Orlando Science Center, and very convenient to those visiting the Art Museum or Shakespeare Center and craving a snack or reasonably healthy meal. We were visiting the Orlando Art Museum and needed some grub. Found this place immediately on Yelp and ordered our food on their website. Quick, easy, and tasty! As you can see if the photo, this place was swarming with unruly children, as expected on a Saturday for a science center. Nonetheless, we found a place sit and eat, and our food was only 5 minutes passed the original stated time--no complaints there. Food was decent, nothing spectacular but good for a museum cafe. Noise was 10/10 and the lack of parental advisory was a bit concerning but nothing the museum really could have done. The 4-Stars mainly comes in with the whole sustainability standards that are bolstered throughout the cafe area--live green wall, farm to table, etc.--but they still use single-use plastic ware with cellophane wrappers... doesn't match up in my opinion, but was the only thing that irked me in our experience.

As members of the Orlando Science Center, we have been to 4Roots Cafe many times. It's a major upgrade from the sandwich chain that was here prior! It's a wonderful cafe that has the same owners as 4Rivers BBQ but it's on the healthier side. They have rice/salad bowls, sandwiches, and flatbreads. They also have an assortment of snacks as well. I gravitate towards the create-your-own bowls because you can choose your base, protein and veggies. The Cuban pork is excellent! My son loves the Dinosaur chicken nuggets and it comes with chips and a drink. The space is cafeteria style, nicely decorated and clean. They have a large tv that shows segments that are community focused which I enjoy. They also have a few activities off to the side which are fun to do. I'd you are an OSC member, you get a 10% discount on 4Roots!

Actually got this delivered from UberEats ( restaurant is located in the science center). Got the American, which has great flavor, super light, with a nice kick from the comeback sauce. Description said it comes with brown rice and quinoa but my dish only had brown rice. My friend has the Mediterranean- kale was fresh and not even remotely bitter. Food wasn't overpriced even for being on UberEats and tastes fresh. Would definitely recommend!

The 4Roots Cafe is located on the ground floor of the Orlando Science Center. In September of this year the Orlando Science Center renovated their restaurant space that was formerly occupied by a Subway. The Science Center partnered with 4Roots, a non profit alliance founded by restauranteur John Waters. 4R is the charitable arm of the 4R Restaurant Group that includes 4Rivers Smokehouse. 4R revamped the museums restaurant into a place that serves food while at the same time operating as an exhibit that examines food and health issues. The restaurant reopened in October. According to their website the cafe has "A vision to inspire, educate, and empower others about critical food issues." The cafe's mission is not only to provide good, healthy, locally grown food that nourishes your body but they also want to provide education about health, farming practices, food waste, and food insecurity. The education portion of the cafe is achieved with a living wall, cooking demonstrations, videos, food activities, and children's activities. The science center hopes to make eating in their cafe interactive and fun. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style. It is grab and go counter service coupled with build a bowl. You tell them what you want, they give it to you, you pay, and you seat yourself in the large dining room. When designing the menu, 4Roots had to take in account that they were primarily feeding the children coming to the museum and their parents. The average cost of a menu item is $10. The menu includes build your own bowls, salads, wraps, focaccia, sandwiches, vegetarian options, a kids menu, and desserts. I ordered the balsamic chicken and mozzarella sandwich on baguette ($7.49). The bread was fresh and chewy and they heated it up so that the cheese was melted. It was delicious and reasonably priced. It looks the space is still being set up. On the way in they had an amazing diorama of the ocean and a Florida lighthouse scene made entirely out of sugar. Future exhibits will include hydroponics and a Florida food heroes section. Right now because of Covid you can only enter the restaurant through the museum entrance. Eventually you will be able to visit the 4Roots Cafe without paying the museum entrance fee. The 4Roots Cafe is a new experiment for the Science Center. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

*** To Go Order***. I had the American bowl and Turkey bacon wrap. The bowl has a unique sauce" comeback" sauce. Decent in weight and fillings. The Turkey wrap I thought should include the comeback sauce on it. I'll check out this place in the future for more

I would only recommend this place because it is good enough while you're at Orlando Science Center. The food is definitely mediocre and way overpriced, but it is better to eat here than leave to go somewhere else.

Regular bowl, lettuce, rice, potatoes, Baja chicken. Undercooked rice, overcooked chicken and potatoes.

They have only four carb bases and four veggie bases to choose from so it's really hard to be indecisive about what you want. There are pre selected menu options or you can just make your own salad as I chose today. My mix; brown rice, spinach, cucumbers, carrots, pickled onion, and purple cabbage with blacked chicken, thai and jalapeño dressing with wonton crisps. You can also see my drink they have what's basically "Aguas Frescas" options. I got the pomegranate lemon mixed with rishi black tea. But if you don't like tart and sour like me they had two other options on the sweeter side. Perks: Drinks are self serve, you can sample the dressings, and there's no cheat menu options that make you feel guilty for trying to be healthy. Con: The only con is that like any salad place it isn't a load of chicken but it is a still a good amount of protein. If you're looking for cheap protein stick to Chipotle.

We were in Winter Park for the afternoon and looking for a good, affordable lunch. I'd heard about…read moreBricks & Bowls before (as well as the Ghost Kitchen concept), so we decided to give it a try. I was immediately drawn to the Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich. I noticed they offered a Boxed Lunch combo that included a half-brick focaccia sandwich, a choice of side, chips, and a cookie. Under the Soups & Sides section of the menu, I saw soups, salads, fruit, chips, and bread listed, so I asked if I could get the Kale Caesar Salad as my side. I was told it wasn't considered a side. That struck me as a little odd since it was listed under "Soups & Sides," but I didn't press the issue and instead ordered the sandwich and salad separately. I do wish there had been a sandwich-and-salad combo option, especially since it's Florida and 100 degrees outside--hot soup wasn't exactly calling my name that day! The Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich was a bit dry, and I didn't notice much Swiss cheese or enough ghost pepper bang sauce to add much heat or moisture. On the plus side, the focaccia bread was fantastic, and the sandwich was piled high with sliced chicken. Even the half-brick size was plenty filling. The Kale Caesar Salad was much smaller than expected and, ironically, seemed like it would have fit perfectly as a combo side. It also contained more romaine than kale, with just a sprinkling of baby kale on top. The Caesar dressing, however, was excellent--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. At $6 for a small bowl, I was hoping for a little more substance. I also treated myself to the Belgian Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookie that would have come with the Boxed Lunch combo, and it was outstanding. Soft, gooey, and packed with flavor. Bricks & Bowls has a pleasant outdoor seating area in a courtyard setting, with tables shaded by large umbrellas. Just keep in mind that there is no indoor seating, and even with the shade, it can be pretty warm during a Florida summer. Overall, it was a decent first experience with some highlights and a few disappointments. The food had some strong points, particularly the focaccia bread, dressing, and cookie, but at around $20 for a quick-service lunch, I left feeling that the value didn't quite match the price.

They offer plenty of seating inside and out. However, it was very cold inside which most people would probably enjoy during the summer. I wish I had brought in my jacket. I ordered on the app before I walked in so that I could take my time looking through the options. Ordering in person here is very similar to ordering at Chipotle where you direct them with your base, mains, veggies and sauces. I arrived about minutes before my expected pickup time. There is a large rack where all of the pick up orders are at. After waiting about 10 minutes, I was asked for my name, along with another person who was waiting. Within a couple of minutes, the girl came out with our to go orders. I elected to eat in. Unfortunately, many of the tables were dirty but I managed to score a semi clean table. I feel like my bowl was lacking in quantity for the amount that I paid. If I had ordered in person, im positive there would've been almost double the amount based on the orders I saw while waiting for my food. Even the dressings were scarce. They were half full if that. I had to ask for more dressings which the girl happily accommodated me with full cups this time around. The BYO chicken bowl was flavorful. I would come back to try them again but likely at another of their locations.
