I like the flow of the store and the large parking lot. It was quite empty on a Saturday afternoon, but that also meant there were many employees who were eager to help. I came in looking for a pistol bag, but I was told that due to renovations in their Modesto warehouse, shipments had been delayed. Admittedly, the store was sparsely stocked in terms of bags and accessories. The bag I would've wanted to purchase was not in stock, and I was advised the Carson location had them in stock. They stated most of the items won't be in stock until after Christmas time. The warehouse is busy fulfilling online orders, so they'll get to the store fulfillment process afterwards. So if you're looking for a particular item, I advise you check their website and call around to make sure the item is in stock. I'll most likely be back after the new year because I do like the store and it's employees. Hopefully they'll have more things in stock then! read more

This is an awesome store! I am in town from Chicago, and thought the store looked interesting. I went in not looking for anything in particular, and ended up buying a bunch of cool new things thanks to Casey, the associate who greeted me. I love this store. I had been saving money for a Benchmade knife in an envelope in my room for about a year. It is surprisingly difficult to find the knife that I was looking for and when I can, I try to buy these sorts of things in person rather than online. I found this store by accident while I was picking up a refrigerator at the neighboring appliance store. Walked inside this glorious store and low and behold they have their own 5.11 brand knives, and a bunch of Benchmade knives! Then I look closer and see that they have the one I have been saving up to buy, AND it was the same price I would pay if I bought it ONLINE!!! Before leaving, the bearded gentleman (i want to say jeff?) who helped me insisted that I try on a pair of their stryke pants. I was not looking for any pants because I had just found some that I loved, but I tried them on anyway. I don't know what kind of sorcery their garment wizard is performing to make these stryke pants but they are the most comfortable pants I have EVER warn. Any description I give will be insufficient, you just have to try them on. The pants move with you. Anyway. A few weeks later I checked my envelope to find that I had more than enough to buy the knife. When I got there, the pretty girl working the front counter informed me that I came on a massive sale day where everything in the store was on sale! She was super helpful and went out of her way to check their back inventory and new arrivals to find everything I needed. I ended up getting the knife and the pants for about $10 more than I was planning to spend on just the knife!!! Only downside is that now I am hooked. This is a new store and conveniently located off the 5 freeway, one block west of the Citadel outlets and next to Carl's Jr. It's a fun store with so much to look, touch, try on and wish you had unlimited money to buy all this awesome gear. That staff is friendly and ready to help and answer questions. I like the wide variety of clothing and accessories. Many things to look at and trying to justified what item to buy. I like that most of their clothing can be worn for a wide range of outdoor activities but has a nice casual look that you can wear and not look like you returned from a combat mission. They carry both men and women clothing. The parking lot is shared with another business. I can imagine as more people start to come here it will be busier. I was looking forward to shopping here for a while. I was however deeply disappointed. The selection is nice. I saw a few things I've been looking for. The problem was in the employees. The 2 males seemed to have difficulty in paying attention to the task at hand.. They were to busy talking to each other while the female employee was helping customers. These two guys just stood there at a register talking about some 'rad chick' while the line to pay grew. They were in their own world. Visited the 511 store for the first time. I have driven by the store a few times and finally went inside. Jeff and the 511 staff were great. I was looking for some apex pants and luckily they had the size and color I was looking for at the time. I could do some real financial damage shopping there. They carry an assortment of pants, shirts, jackets, patches, med kits, gun bags and backpacks, knives, boots, tactical vests, and some gun holsters. If they do not have it in the store, I am sure they can order it for you. Like I said, the staff is great there. Unfortunately, it was not as busy as I thought it would be today. I am sure it will get busier when more people hear about this store. Looking forward to my next visit there. Overall, a great experience. read more

This review is solely for the warehouse sale side of the 5.11 property. The business is accessed through the back parking lot. The place has decent deals on 5.11 (mainly clothing), which is the only reason for the 2 stars. I got a few items but I wish I could say more for the customer service. The employees look incredibly unhappy. I walked in and a female cashier looked right at me, and didn't say anything, so to save the awkward stare, I greeted her. Then browsed and took my items up to the cash register. A guy with glasses helped ring me up but didn't say much except my total. Then hands me my bag, still nothing, so I say "thanks." I got a "no prob" in return. I get that retail isn't the most desirable job but come on, the customers aren't even bothering you to do much else but ring up their merchandise and say thank you. It's sad because I've been in a profession where I've purchased 5.11 religiously for the last 12 years. Sucks that their customer service at this location left so much to be desired. read more

Amazing store for any weekend warrior, hiker, outdoor and/or law enforcement official. Outdoor gear including boots, class B and backpacks-HUGE selection. GREAT customer service, the BEST, spoke to both store manager and assistant manager and they made me feel very comfortable and gave me a good run down of the back pack I was buying. After a long and frustrating day of Citadel "shopping" and leaving empty handed. This was the final place I was going to stop by. I've seen their social media and have just recently become more interested in tactical wear. I had an idea of what I was looking for, but it was their service that sold me. I can only credit that to Casey. The moment me and my wife (with baby in hand) stepped foot in the door we were greeted by him. I explained my situation. He said he would finish up with the customers he had and would then explained the layout of the store. When he came back around to help us, I mentioned what I was looking to get, my likes, my dislikes. And right away he started putting together different pieces. I swear I must have tried on 8-9 complete outfits.. He took his time, he listened to both mine and my wife's comments. He wasn't trying to up sell or give me unnecessary things. His customer service has surpassed any shopping experience I've ever had. Keep in mind it was near closing time, and not once did I feel pressured into closing out my sale. Just went to 5.11 today to look for a weighted vest for working out. I saw the 5.11 tactical vest which is pretty pricy but is in my opinion very worth just because the quality is amazing. But wanted to shoutout Juan for his amazing customer service ! I wasn't too sure if I wanted to buy the vest right away but Juan just made the purchase easier and better with discounts and service. If you go to 5.11 try and find Juan for all questions because he knows his stuff!! Overall great experience, great store, and great service. 5 stars. read more

If you're debating weather to come check them out, just do it. I'm now a life long customer due to how great their customer service and management. I came in looking for a new pair due to the wear and tear (broke the zipper) of an older pair of 511 pants I use for my job in construction. All their pants are super durable, stretchable and true to size. I've put the pants through their paces and they have held up to a lot of abuse on the job site and also work very well for camping and backpacking. I've replaced my Marmot backpacking pants with the more affordable, more durable "Icon Pant". Hey headquarters, the manager of this location is a super helpful dude. He's definitely got my respect and made me a lifelong customer. read more

This store is my for my husband and kids. Don't get me wrong they have great stuff for women too. It's just a known fact that their products are just expensive. If you're able to get it on sale, bonus. We happen to stop by during the week and found out that their big one year sale was coming up with major discounts but on top of that we learned about their warehouse sale. We definitely hit up their warehouse sale. You need to go early on the first day for that event to get the good stuff. We walked out with over $800 worth of product but only spent $200. I think that's a major deal! Their warehouse sales I think happen every last weekend of the month. Don't quote me on that so you may want to double check that. I really don't like the service here. The cashier didn't even ask if I wanted a bag with my items and he was distracted the whole time talking to another guy barely acknowledging me. Ordered a belt 2 weeks ago and still has not arrived. When I asked why it takes so long? The respond I got is "we are a new company" really what in the 21st century takes 2 weeks to arrive. Another excuse was "it's probably in the boxes that came in today, but we haven't opened them" Tried to cancel the order and get my money back to purchase a different belt from them, but they couldn't do that either becuase "they are a new company and need to call IT tomorrow. Needless to say I left holding up my pants with no belt or money. How can you treat your customers like this. Terrible customer service. read more

This 5.11 is in a prime location, I don't live too far from here but every time I make the drive I'm so excited to come make a purchase here only to discover, they don't carry anything for EMS professionals. I was hoping to walk out with EMS pants and a sweatshirt for work but each time I walk out disappointed. Apparently they don't carry EMS pants " due to their agreement with Galls" I walk out flustered since they are a 5.11 store. If you're an EMT or paramedic looking for their EMS pants you won't find them here. They'll suggest you order them online. If I wanted to order them online I would've done so, I obviously come to the store to see if they're exactly what I'm looking for. read more
