Love 5.11 and gladly have paid higher prices for superior products. I am giving fewer stars for poorer customer service at this specific store location. At this specific location, I purchased two pairs of pants along with other misc. products and upon coming home realized I had purchased the wrong sizes for the pants. I attempted to exchange the pants back at the store the next day and was told by the manager who identified herself as Carlie that because I removed the tags (I still had the tags and receipt w/ the pants just not secured to the pants) they were not returnable due to "Covid." I spoke to corporate customer service who were extremely helpful and who stated Carlie was mistaken, they would call the store, and that I could return the products at that location. I called the location back and spoke to Carlie again and she stated that corporate customer service was wrong and their store would not accept the pants back. I called corporate customer service again who, once again, we're extremely helpful, and assisted me in my exchange of the pants over the phone within minutes (night and day difference in customer service). I highly recommend purchasing 5.11 products online and not at this location if you want better products WITH customer service. read more

My husband and I bought a pair of expensive Merrell shoes for each of us this December. We do like them in that they're sturdy and support our feet. However both of our pairs have squeaky insoles that are kind of annoying. There's something wrong with the way they're made. read more

Unbelievable staff. Always greeted, always helped in such a professional, friendly manner. Notified of sales if were on the fence about pulling the trigger on an item (pardon the pun). Popped in tonight and didn't plan to buy anything but when we did, they threw in some goodies for us. Totally unexpected. Made our first trip to this store on the 31st of December. Had exactly what we needed and we enjoyed shopping for various items (almost $500 worth!) -- if I left a review simply for that visit, it would be 5 stars; however, one item needed to be returned as it didn't work for my son. Customer service upon returning the item 4 days later was terrible! Tried calling manager to report the employee's poor customer service only to be told she was in a meeting and would call back. She never bothered to call back. Hoping she might see this review and know that customer service is PARAMOUNT! Quality items for sale is only step one -- your customers have to want to come back if you expect to sell more. read more

Tried to return item 1 week passed 30 days. Was told store credit only. That's fine, but then they say it has to be done right now! That's not store credit that's an exchange. I would have been fine getting store credit in the form of a gift card, but to only allow immediate exchange is ridiculous. Shop somewhere that takes customer service seriously. read more

Horrible customer service. They all love to go on break at inconvenient times and leave a sign on the door telling you they'll be back later. They also love to sit out front and try to watch you enter the store while the doors locked. read more

I went to this location intending on buying pouches for my rig and upon entering the staff was very nice but while I was browsing I noticed a employee following me. He asked multiple times if I needed help looking for anything to which I replied no. I get that their defending the companies assets but damn I don't need to be harassed while browsing the wares. I'm not one to accuse the staff of singling out persons of color however I was the only non white in there with staff on my ass. Despite that they had a decent selection of products and would recommend visiting the location as the patch rack had some pretty funny ones. That or buy online. Slow your roll staff and be more incognito. read more

Not sure what is up with this store. It is by far my worst experience out of many stores I have made purchase at. If you are Military or LEO you will not get the discount here. Also the store is never open even during published open hours. Also stood outside due to only allowing 3 in the store at a time.....Stock was picked over and it ended up being a huge time suck. read more

This place does a lot for their customers and they are always clean and professional when I come in. They have a lot of bbqs and events for the community and just on the regular for the avid shoppers. Stopped in for the first time last week and loved it. Plan on going back to buy more when I can leave the kids at home. Got some great flashlights on sale. Retail for the two was over $200 and I got them for about $60! I like the belts, pants, shoes and gear. My son who is 5 loved watching the tv with the cool things they showed and that allowed me to look more lol. It's going to be like Christmas when I go back in. Great store. They carry basically everything that you need as far as tactical gear. No need to go online to order their products and have to wait for it to come in. A lot of stores that carry tactical gear only have a few selections of 5.11 gear and its nice that they have a flagship store in Sacramento to service all the first responders or military in the area. 5.11 in my humble opinion has some of the best tactical gear. They are quite expensive but you get what you pay for and that is quality. The service was great as well from their employees. I walked out with some free goodies along with purchase of 2 pairs of Stryke pants. If you love tactical gear, whether you're a first responder, military, or just love the gear because of its durability and versatility, then this place is for you. Went in for a pair of women's EMS pants and they didn't have a very good selection. But ended up ordering a pair with them in the size and color i needed. They told me it would take 14 days at the longest to receive my item. It would've been 14 days yesterday so I called Today and got one sentence out and the phone hung up. Call back explained what was going on guy apologize looked up my order and said yeah it hasn't been 14 business days yet. Which 14 business days would be in two days but anyways I said I was never told business days that's why I'm calling looking for my package. I said I needed them by next week and that I was frustrated that I was told one thing and it wasn't true. So then I asked how long until you get the tracking number because that's what I'm waiting on he said "we're going to stick to the 14 business days that we told you" !!!! So 14 business days is Monday, still no tracking number and my package should be here by Monday. Yeah not counting on it. I've worked retail and this is just not the way to handle a frustrated customer. Pretty rude and not apologetic what so ever. Didn't try to come up with a solution or anything. read more

This store is pretty amazing. There is so much stuff in there and the items are actually stocked. Aside from that, the customer service in this store is outstanding! All of the employees in there were extremely helpful and very friendly specifically Kristie (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and Ana. There was a male employee in there who was just as friendly and helpful as they were but I don't remember his name. I went into the store with my child to find a belt. Kristie not only helped me find the right belt but she was amazing with my small child who was asking her a million questions and playing with the toys on the counter. It is pretty rare when you leave a store thinking about how great the employees in the store were. Today was one of those days. I can't say enough great things about this store and their employees. Helpful friendly staff great clothing .. Good price for the quality

So.. I am reposting this review because for some reason it was taken down? I think it is important to know the way these guys do business. Just goes to show you.. you should read Yelp before doing business with anyone these days! It seems that I have fallen victim to the super secret, (made up) return/exchange policy at 5.11 as well? A few days ago I bought 3 pair of pants as well as various other items. The next day, I pulled the tags off and was going to put a pair of pants on. It was then that I realized that they were a bit bigger in the waist than I realized in the store. So I put the tags in the pocket and took them back to the store with the receipt. I just wanted to exchange for a smaller size, then make an additional purchase that would have amounted to about $1000.00. 2 pairs of 300.00 boots and a half dozen shirts. The sales person (who was my original salesperson days before) Explained to me that if the tags have been removed, the store policy was no refunds / no exchanges. I pointed out on my receipt that is not the policy stated in writing? He said no... it's not in writing it's just a store policy? Then I begin to argue with him and explained that that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in my life, we go back-and-forth. Then he changes his mind about the unwritten policy and he says to me "would you settle for two out of three? I said two out of three what? He said well I can let you exchange two pairs but the third pair has been washed and we can't exchange those. I said to him that they never went more than 3 feet from the bag they've not been washed and they were exactly in the condition which I bought them. He argued back-and-forth with me again and told me I could call customer service. So I called customer service while standing in the store the phone rang and rang finally somebody answered I explained the problem.. they put me on hold for several minutes came back and said that there was nobody there that could help me and there's nothing they could do for me at that time? What? So much for customer service I guess? They suggested that I talk to the store manager. So I hung up the phone and asked the salesperson who is the store manager? He replied Kristy. I said fine when would she be back in the store so that I could talk to her about this transaction? I swear I am not making this up...the sales guy said that he's not allowed to tell customers when the manager is going to be in the store it's against store policy. I swear to God I thought I was on an episode of the twilight zone! I said so what do I do? Do I just call every 20 minutes day after day until she answers the phone to figure out when she's there? He just said I guess so? What the??? I will say it's a pretty cool store and they have some pretty cool items. I am just completely baffled by the way they do business. So, in the end, I asked for a complete refund on the two pairs of pants he didn't argue about, and I told him I would just throw the third pair in the trash and that I would never be back, I don't think he really cared? Needless to say, they didn't get it the other thousand dollar sale for me tonight night either? Way too much work to do business with these guys... it feels like they just make it up as they go? They are great when taking your money... but God help you if you need a little service after the sale. Ridiculous. Buyers beware!!! Just remembered this as well... while I was in the store for the original purchase, the salesperson told me that the sizes can vary for any two pairs of the same pants. I was told that it was due to the fact that they are made in two different factories in China.. and they have very little control over the output? You can tell because the labels inside the pants are different? The pants are $69.00? Maybe for that price they should make them in the USA? Just a thought. read more

Great store and fabulous employees. My hubby and I had never been in a 5.11 store before. Absolutely loved it! They even kept the store open a half hour past closing so we could finish looking. We will for sure be stopping by next time we are in town. read more

I have used them for years with mixed quality with the items that I have purchased. My work uses them for our uniforms and gear. The reason for the one star review is the other day I had two items with issues. Picked up a pair of boots. Evo 8 waterproof boots. Within a months time the back strap broke and I was having issues zipping them up. I also had a pair of tan range pants that the button wouldn't snap. After I started the return of the boots That went ok after I had to plea my case about how they failed. $160 pair of boots to start failing in a month is ridiculous. I stated that I also had a pair of pants that the button failed. I stated that my work buys pants through them and could they help my out at all. The manager, who must have been in a bad mood started in on me. Saying my work would never buy this color pants. She knows my boss very well and she couldn't help me. To call customer service if I needed help. Not sure what my work would have to do with helping a customer that has 511 pants and the button broke. I was trying to state we do business through them and could I get help with fixing them or a new pair, only wore 4-5 times. After dealing with the rude manager I drove to Bare Bones workwear that also sells 511 pants. They called customer support for me and I was issued credit for a new pair. Very simple task that keeps customers happy. I just think if you sell a product and it fails try helping. Don't act like it's a problem and a waste of your time. She is the only reason I will not shop a 511 tactical anymore. read more

Attention 2019 Black Friday Web Purchasers. If you live in Hawaii, and need to initiate an exchange/return to 5.11, your package will average approximately 2-3 months in transit. Newgistics, a freight logistics company hired by 5.11, will put your return package on a barge bound for California. That's right! It's like living in the 1970's all over again. In this glorious age technology and innovation, 5.11/Newgistics uses transportation methods from the last century. What's worse is that 5.11 will utilize Newgistics to ship back to you exchanged items, adding another 2 months to the transaction. At present, my exchange merch package has not even left Hawaii after 2 weeks. I elevated my exchange to return for refund, and suspect/hope the refund will show sometime in January/February 2020. Newgistics is an industry leader in having the worst reputation with consumers, but companies like 5.11 still hire them. read more
