This kid loves this place so much. He feels like he's in a field trip whenever we visit

This is a cool place to shop. Everything here is of course surplus!. It has the smell of used cots and mattresses. But you can expect that from this type of place. Once you walk in there are some bags of all sorts for packing as you keep going into the store you can see there's a bunch of patches as well for current uniforms or even just to spice up what you have already. We got a few once we were there today and it was nice. We also look at the shoes and boots they were on display. They family service and didn't have any issues with checking out whatsoever. And there is plenty of parking as well.

These gloves are hard to find, and very expensive elsewhere.

What a neat place. A classic military surplus with kit from WWI to today. Stuff was reasonably priced and available in a wide variety of colors and sizes. Picked up a pair of gloves and a BDU top for an airsoft game, found exactly what I needed. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and made me feel welcomed. I'll certainly stop by again

    Plate carrier and helmet. Okay

Super store! The store clerk well versed on all military stuff from all different eras. If your into this like my son you can spend hours just looking at all the stuff they sell and displayed.

It's appalling how bad the customer service is in Sportsman's Warehouse. I have experienced the…read moresame problem at the Rancho Cordova store and at the Rocklin store. The problem is the firearms counter. I have purchased a few guns there over the past 13 years, and the experience has universally been horrible. The basic tone is this: The staff's demeanor is as if they are doing you a favor by selling you something. They are quite deliberately aloof, indifferent, and they slow-walk everything they do. This occurs whether they are busy or not. Either way, it will be an agonizingly slow experience if you want help or want to purchase a firearm. They randomly chose to use or ignore their "take a number" system, and when you go in there's never any way to tell whether you should take a number or not. You can stand at the counter, waiting for help for an hour at times. Often they won't acknowledge your presence or even make eye contact. It feels as if you are offending them by even being there, and they want nothing more than for you to just go away. If you actually wish to purchase a firearm, I would recommend budgeting at least two hours in the store. Or better yet, go to another store that has some level of competent management and values their customers. That's what I'm going to do. The clearest way I can explain it? The firearms counter at Sportsman's Warehouse is exactly like trying to get help from a big city branch of the California DMV. That sums it up perfectly.

I called in to get quick questions answered before coming in. Which resulted in prompt educated…read moreresponses. Saved me a trip due to honesty and I was in and out for what I needed. The person on the phone was polite and articulate to answer what I needed. The person even remembered me when I came in the store. Very rare to get this type of service. I am assuming the bad reviews are people who were educated and felt horrified about their lack of knowledge. Gun culture is an educated culture, be prepared to learn or abide by the safety standards and rules that adhere to them. Inside the store was clean and spacious areas. The department I needed was the firearms section, which was at the far end of the shop. That being said they have a wide collection of what I say good ammo that you can rely on for self-defense. What I can also say is that they do not gouge you on prices. The prices are well within reason, and they are updated ammunition. By updated I mean that they have different casings for those who know that grains and bullet type matter. That being said, getting plinking ammunition is a good to go here. You can trust the brands they have in stock and the staff for the firearms department is knowledgeable and friendly. Keep in mind the long wait is due to either education, or the long lengthy checks to get said items. That being said, pay your taxes, pay your registration fees, do your due diligence and you're out and about easy. I may bring in my gun to get checked by their smith. But TBH American Made Baretta 9mm FS is the far superior choice than the mass produced m9 and Italian made one. I don't think I need a service on my weapon in quite some time. Do your research, some things made in America, is better and not well advertised. This goes for the ammunition as well. To the dude who helped me. Thank you, man. Thank you for your service as well. Representing Americans to the finest quality one can hope for. Thank you.

Grab a couple items totaling around 65 bucks, cashier is very friendly and cool. Turns out the back massager thing I bought was broken ($49.99 listed on the box) and the gloves I grabbed she already had stashed at her gym ($14.99). Didn't really anticipate issues (I should have assumed their items are broken I guess) so the receipt was discarded. Didn't think anything of it since every store ever will give you store credit if you don't have the actual paper receipt. Nope... wife goes to return the gifts for store credit and see if there's anything in there she wants with the 65ish dollars I paid. They give her a gift card with $29.00 on it... called them and apparently if you return anything w/o a receipt the items automatically revert to the LOWEST sale price they've EVER had on that item so #1 the (broken) massager is marked up like crazy and #2 they literally have the items on their floor that show the price point they're currently marked at that particular location. Bought the stuff less than a week ago, main item was broken, zero attempt at customer service... 35 bucks isn't going to ruin anyone but the principal of thing is a killer for me especially considering brick and mortar retail is dying and Big 5 is already fully outclassed by Dicks and wayyy out-convenienced by Amazon. I already felt like I was doing them a favor by not utilizing those other options.... TLDR - worst return policy ever (and one i've literally never seen anywhere else), not helping your company survive

I've brought many friends, family and coworkers there as well to give 5.11 business. But let me tell you! I don't know what happened to this store and how they pick their staff now, but they are absolute trash. Ever since the old store manager left this store has hired the worst people and the store always looks like crap. The old manager had this location looking good, fully stocked and her team was on point and very professional. They lost the true face of 5.11 on that one. I recently went to this 5.11 location on Friday March 28th with my family to see if things changed and I was reminded for the final time why I will NEVER return again. The guy in the front said something when we walked in and never said another peep or offered to assist with anything at all the whole time we were there. That's not even what bothered me. What made me absolutely livid was when the female worker blew my father off mid-sentence when he was asking her a question about their sale and said "It just depends" with a snarky attitude and TURNED HER BACK ON HIM AND WALKED TO THE BACK OF THE STORE. I almost lit her up. I'm done with 5.11 once and for all and I know deep down many others are as well. Shame on this company for allowing such people to work there and for allowing such an environment.

No one approached us or asked if we needed help. The salespeople simply ignored us; one was busy with his merchandise, and the other, with a red beard, sat in the customer chair and hummed. I come here primarily to get my snowboard waxed. I paid a $30 lifetime membership fee and was able to get my board waxed for about $15. WORTH!!!! I've heard they have workshops where they actually TEACH you how to wax your own snowboard so I'm definitely going to come back for those. They also have an option (free for members) to get your board a different type of wax that lasts for maybe a day or two. I dropped my board off on Monday afternoon and was lucky enough to pick up my board the next day. I'm not sure if their wax turnover time is always this quick but I am very happy with their service.
