The products are good here. There's not many places that sell shaved ice desserts, so this is the closest in La Crescenta/Montrose area, without traveling to more Asian-populated cities. Service is somewhat lacking. Perhaps it's due to students who just need a stepping-stone job who lack common sense. Maybe they just need better training? Hands down my favorite place to have boba! There are so many flavors to choose from. They have smoothie bobas that are blended with ice/milk and called "snow" for example "strawberry snow", "honeydew snow", "coconut snow". Then they have slush kind of bobas which are blended with ice. My favorites include honeydew snow boba and the milk tea boba. The place is small and kept clean. They also serve food if you want to grab a bite. read more

I have been a regular here for a few years. Up until recently the service, food, and boba were great. The last few times they messed up my order and the fries did not taste like before. On my most recent trip, they screwed up one of my drink orders. I did not realize it until I got home. I called them to let them know and instead of apology, all they said was they'll remake it. I used to come here a lot when I was in high school because I didn't own a car. Unlike other boba spots, it doesn't have a good environment to study or work on something because it's always noisy with grinding ice. One of the good things coming to here is that they have a stamp card, which I have a bunch of stamp cards that I never ask for a free drink because I'm too lazy to keep it. I personally love a popcorn chicken, but the portion of theirs is comparatively way too small. Also, each piece is not really filled with real chicken meats. This was such a disappointment considering all the reviews here. I got the tiger brown sugar milk and it was not only nothing like pictured, but there was absolutely no flavor. It was literally cold milk with brown sugar syrup that tasted like pure sugar. Boba was already soft and mushy, and the coffee jellies taste like watered down bland black coffee. I had looked up a place to relax around in the La Crescenta/La Canada area, just to find something to kill time before my tutoring sessions and stumbled upon this. A random boba/cafe style shop. At first, I really thought it was going to be similar to something like the places from the valley (Le Arbre, AU 79, Tea Bar), with lots of spaces to chill out and get work done. BOY, how I was wrong. I went in and only saw four tables with a few chairs. Turned away by that, I just decided to get an Almond Snow without boba. However, I think since everyone else and their mothers were getting boba, they just included it without charging me, or probably because they heard my "Wonder Girls - Tell Me" text ring tone go off. So, I guess the reason why the place is called "5.2 Patio" is because if it was on a scale between 1-10, that is how much the place should get as a rating. Before I dwell into the reasons of why I think this place isn't that great, you have to understand that I have been to boba places in the valley, and that bar is set. (And this is the reason why I don't order boba at a lot of places). - The Almond Snow was an interesting drink, but something was REALLY off with it, maybe the sweetener or maybe because of the liquid/syrup they used on their pearls, but I wasn't digging it. Yeah, it did have a nice texture, but flavorwise, something wasn't right. Hence why I don't understand why people were raving about how great their boba is. Why not go to honeyboba, try something there with their boba and report back to me before you start bashing how wrong I am. I never got a stamp card; on top of that, I didn't really look at their food choices, but reading up on other people's reviews, it's probably best to go next door to the Korean BBQ/restaurant and get something there instead. Would I come back? Probably, but something without the boba. I do like the fact the place was playing K-Pop, but the girl didn't know what song was playing and neither did I, since I only listen to idol group's mainstream stuff.
