This market is my go-to place since it's close to my house, and I've tried many dishes here. I was craving jjamppong, and it was good! My only mistake was ordering a hot soup during this hot summer weather . I think it will be even better in winter! Their sweet and sour pork is always delicious with a generous portion, and their bulgogi is great and easily enough for two people. There is parking in the garage structure, and you have to take the elevator/escalator down to the first floor. The food court is behind the bakery. The food takes no more than 15 minutes to be ready. There is a lot of seating in the food court. The bathroom is in the back, and the door may be locked. You may have to ask someone for the code. I like the fried pork and shrimp. They probably make a limited amount as tuna can go bad quickly. I've tried the mini kimbap which was tasty but pricey if you think about the fact rice & some vege rolled in small dried seaweed is $1.50. One of ny coworkers always gets the bibimbap & loves it. The vegetables are fresh & well seasoned, they'll remove the beef or put it in a different container upon request. I've also tried shrimp fried rice, prepacked lunches, "jeons" - fish, squash, chives (it's next to the kimbaps in the front near the cash register). It comes with some pickels & some source of spicy soup with octopus tentacles in it (sometimes can be very spicy). A decent amount of food they serve along with a few banchan consisting of seaweed soup, Kim Chi potatoes, Kim Chi turnips, etc. It was decent for what was ordered. Also probably used to prevent the dish from being too dry. Mix the Bibimbap thoroughly and enjoy! They have a good variety of items that can be ordered such as gamjatung (pork bone soup) with good amount of meat, oxtail soup, bulgogi with rice and vegetables, just a few I named that was stuck in my mind. My friend ordered the gamjatung, and it was also delicious. It was spicy though... But it was fine. The food does come out in about 5 minutes. Quite impressive actually! Most places charge $11.99 for a bowl of cold noodles and $8.95 is the ultimate bargain. With tax, it's actually $9.80 but that's still crazy cheap. I haven't seen a price like this since the 1990's. If you look at the prices for all the food here, you will notice every thing is pretty cheap. I will come back to try other items because this place might be my favorite Korean restaurant. read more

The lady at the register was very nice and warned me that the soup itself really had no flavor and would be accompanied with salt/pepper. I nodded that I was okay with as I've had this in Korea before which was how they make this dish. After waiting for at least 12 minutes (definitely not 5 :P), I got my food which had the salt and pepper shaker, steamed rice, as well as some ban chan. Ban chan was pretty good but I noticed that some of my friends had different ones though mine was better since I had fish cakes and they didn't. There was a lot of oxtail in the soup which was really awesome. There were about 4 huge chunks and after putting some salt and pepper, tasted perfect. Went here for lunch on a week day. This is located in a food court in the Koreatown Galleria. There is nice outdoor patio adjacent to the food court if you want a quieter ambience. I ordered the Spicy Soft Tofu Soup. It arrived boling in a cast iron bowl complete with rice, and banchan (small dishes like kimchee, radishes, etc.) The soup was tasty but not as spicy as I had imagined it to be. Next time I will make sure they add enough spice. Maybe they thought because I wasn't Korean it would be too hot? There were a couple clams, shrimp with the heads on, and mussels sans the shells in the soup. The tofu was soft and the trick to eating it is to get a small spoonful of rice and dip that into the soup. The kimchee was nice and garlicky. I actually ate all the banchan as well. We were in the market for some mediocre bulgogi over rice, and figured, "How bad could it be?" Husband also ordered the cold noodle soup because it was super hot yesterday. Again, how bad could it be? Um, BAD. Let's just say we made a wrong turn and "Five Minute Bowl" was far from tasty town. We would've been better off purchasing prepared food from the supermarket. The bulgogi over rice was accompanied by a styrofoam tray of banchan (kimchi, radishes, seaweed, and omelet). Not a single item was delicious, the bowl itself was bearable but was more like a massive bowl of soggy rice topped off with onions, strands of glass noodles and enoki, and beef "bits". Hospital food served at the Good Samaritan is better than this. As for the cold noodle soup, don't get me started. A bowl of noodles floating in diluted pickled ice water topped off with scoops of shredded cucumber, shredded radish and a hardboiled egg. Not delicious. Came to pickup a quick meal to-go with my brothers. I ordered 2 spicy pork ribs thinking that when my brother said the one portion was big enough to share he was maybe banking on a light dinner. I didn't eat the whole day so I ordered my own and was surprised he wasn't lying. The to-go bowl was filled to the top with stew, and I got to half before saving the rest for later. The flavor itself was spicy and good. The braise on the ribs were good, they were tender and flavorful. There was a few rice cakes thrown in there as well. It came with rice, some seaweed soup, and banchan of cabbage kimchee, radish kimchee, seaweed and fishcakes. For $7.99 it's a solid, heavy meal. I also got a Korean pancake thinking it wasn't enough but we had way than enough food. It was just OK, it was a bit greasy as far as mung bean pancakes go. For a fast food type joint, this was a solid meal with leftovers. The pork tasted even better the next day when it soaked all that spicy sauce in. read more

I was in Koreatown last week and had a craving for noodles. Checked Yelp and found this unassuming, clean, and DELICIOUS noodle joint. My first venture was a vegetarian bowl, served piping hot and very tasty (spiced well). On my return trip, I saw a young Korean lad enjoying a bowl that looked pretty tasty also. I asked him what the dish was and he warned me that it was very spicy. Smelled good from where I stood, so I pointed to his bowl at the order counter. The waitress tried to warn me off but I stood my ground. It included some shredded beef, pickled veggies and rice noodles. Again, delicious! Mind you, I can handle the kick of hot and spicy with a minimum of brow mopping and nose wiping, but I was put to the test. I'll have to admit that I handled it better than the Korean lad! My favorite dish from VNS chicken is the spicy chicken. The sauce has the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spice. Make sure you order 15 minutes in advance when you to-go because they always take forever. Their prices also increased by $3! I remember when it was $9.99 for a whole chicken and now it's $12.99.
