We were so surprised when the waitress pulled out about two whole cabbages strands to cut into pieces. The 24 hour pork broth had a very pure taste and felt very healing as we drank it, plus it includes some rice noodle to add to it. You can really judge the quality of a Korean restaurant by their banchan and this place has top notch side dishes, especially their kimchi, which is made in-house and tasted super fresh. Suuper bummed about our experience today. We ordered the cold noodle & LA galbi combo as we always do, and a leek pancake as we weren't as hungry and the combo usually fills us up. Even when we ordered the food, the server said "that's it?" as if she was offended that we didn't order more food (lower sales?) I'm not sure if we misunderstood her attitude but that's kind of how it felt like. The quality and size went down and it was just... not good. This used to be my #1 spot for cold noodles but our other fav place was closed today so we decided to come here. As you can see, the size of the cold noodles became smaller. Everything was packed in this small bowl which made it harder to eat. I think they changed the noodles they use because it wasn't doing anything texture wise. It used to be chewy and had a good buckwheat flavor. The broth tasted.. like water with a splash of bone broth. The quality of galbi was also a disappointing as I feel like it's became less and the meat was burnt with more fat/chewy bits. Overall, it's a good place to eat. Our waitress was incredibly kind. She cut the kimchi in our stew for us and was very attentive, making sure we enjoyed it the best way. This is one of the best Korean meals I've ever had in the US. I arrived at 2pm, just in time for the lunch specials (which end at 3pm). There were a few diners but the restaurant was not super busy. I was seated quickly. The menu all looks amazing, I had a hard time deciding, but I chose my favorite Korean dish, spicy pork. The portion was HUGE. There were half a dozen bonchon, a soup, rice, and then probably a pound of spicy pork (which I'm proud to say I did finish). I've been coming to this restaurant for years and have ordered delivery more times than I can count. It used to be one of my favorite places, but sadly, it's nothing like it used to be. I am a regular at this jinsol location. The best part is having free parking while eating at a ktown restaurant. I love their pork soup with rice or bibimbap in hot stone pot. When the weather is cold, I order the pork soup. When the weather is hot, I order the bibimbap. The pork soup already has some gochujang at the bottom and mixing it makes the soup gradually spicier but to a still tolerable level. I love that the pork meat is generous and thinly sliced so it stays tender. Depending on how I feel I also add a bit of salt into the soup. Overall, food is consistently delicious. On Saturday, February 21th my whole family went to Jinsol Gukbap for a late lunch. My two brothers had gone out for Korean BBQ and drinks with friends on Friday night and needed something comforting for hangover recovery. In the morning, after getting massages all together, they said they wanted something warm, so we decided on gukbap. This place is especially famous for its pork gukbap, and many well-known Korean celebrities have visited over the years. In the past, it used to be a place where you had to wait quite a long time to get a table, but since we went at a later hour this time, we were happy that we could be seated right away without waiting. My parents and both of my brothers each ordered the pork gukbap and I ordered the bulgogi served in a hot stone pot (ttukbaegi bulgogi). The ttukbaegi bulgogi was a bit sweet, but still tasty. The food here is good, and the staff are friendly, so it's a place we visit from time to time. I think this was probably my fifth visit, but this is my first time writing a review. FYI) There used to be a Korean BBQ restaurant called Dongiljang, which sadly closed during the COVID pandemic. I really loved their Grilled beef sirloin, especially the fried rice they made at the table after the meat. I was very disappointed when they closed. One of the waitresses who used to work at Dongiljang now works here at Jinsol, and as soon as I saw her, I said, "Oh, Dongiljang!" She smiled and said yes--she had worked there before. I love this place and they are the real deal in terms of the pork meat soup. I've been a fan of this place since they opened. The soup and the meat are so good and the pork meat is so tender and nice. The kimchi, side dishes are also so good. They boiled the pork bone broth for 24 hours to make sure the soup is right and perfect. They have really good pork BBQ too. Probably the best pork meat soup in K town LA or perhaps the best in US. For $24 you get a 2-3-person portion of pork as entree whereas you each other a bowl of meal as well. The spicy cold noodles 5/5 are truly spicy and filling. The portion is big and I was so full. The noodles are chewy with various colorful topping. Parking is easy to find because I came at 5:30pm. Later when I left I still saw many parking in the lot. The service is fast and outstanding.
