I don't know what the other people were eating because the burrito I got from here was horrible! Probably the worst burrito I've ever had. First, they don't have carnitas. What Mexican joint doesn't have carnitas! So, I ordered the chicken burrito with no onion and no salsa. What do I get. A burrito with onion so strong that it overpowered the entire burrito. But that's not all. The chicken was dried out almost like jerky! All of the ingredients looked and tasted like they had been sitting around for hours. The burrito is served cut in half with chips that are saturated with grease and some more greasy onion and pepper. When I first walked in there was no other patron in there at 6:30pm - dinner time. I should have turned right around an walked out, but I read the good reviews and wanted to give this place a shot. That was a mistake. This was my second visit to this restaurant. The first time I came, I was really impressed when they served house-made chips with guacamole, which made a great first impression. On this visit, I ordered the pan-fried chicken plate, which came with beans, rice, and what I believe were homemade corn tortillas. The presentation was beautiful! Everything looked fresh, colorful, and appetizing. I couldn't wait to dig in. The service was good, and I have no complaints there. The staff was attentive and friendly. My only criticism is that while the food looked amazing, it was lacking flavor. I found myself adding salt, salsa, lemon, and anything else I could find to give it more taste. That may not be a bad thing for people watching their sodium intake, but for me, it left the meal feeling a little underwhelming. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with great presentation and good service. This place has the best super burrito I've ever had. I got the carne asada burrito and the portion was huge for about $13. The filling it self was so nicely packed and the meat was just enough and very succulent. I also loved how it comes with grilled onions on the side. I was able to just finished 1/2 and save the other half for lunch tomorrow. Such a good hidden gem. I wish they had more sauces that were less spicy. I also go regular fries from there and it tasted very corn heavy because they use the same oil to cry the tortilla chips. I wish they used separate oil for the fries so I can taste the potato more. This place was good! You can really taste the care and pride behind the food. The cashier was very nice and helpful. I went and ordered a lengua super burrito and an horchata. The horchata was good but it was not overly sweet. The burrito came back packaged in a little box with freshly fried chips to order. They had a salsa bar with take away containers to take all the condiments you want such as cucumbers, radish, cooked peppers. The salsa bar had three salsas. One for every spice level, mild medium and hot. The burrito was charred and had grill marks, the meat was flavorful and tender. The restaurant was small but the flavors were big. Delicious! Stopped in to grab dinner and tried Carrillo's for the first time. Ordered some carne asada tacos, a quesabirria, burrito and two quesadillas. Everything was DELICIOUS! Quick and friendly service. They do not skimp on the meat and everything had great flavor. They have a salsa bar with some carrots, jalapeños and to go salsas too. The only thing I wish they had was a mild salsa, all the ones they had were spicy. As someone who can handle spicy, I loved it but it's nice to have a mild option for chips. I am always a big fan of a place that allows you to make a burrito California style and Carrillos definitely allows that substitution. I grabbed a Carne asada super burrito sub fries for rice. The space itself is nice looking. It took over an old afghan restaurant that used to be there. Parking can be tricky. Service was fine. Easily understood my request and knocked it out in about 5 minutes or so. Burrito: Fries are superb! Crispy, have good flavor. No complaints about good fries. Tortilla is probably the top item of the entire burrito. It tastes fresh made and I love every minute of it. The carne asada itself had tough parts to it and lacked that flavor I am seeking for in a really good burrito. It was on the chewy/tough side and I was really hoping it wouldn't have been as it dragged the burrito down. Overall it's good, a 7/10 in my book. I just ordered the basic ones first to see if it will live up to the expectations or will be a disappointment. Boy, it did not disappoint! Service is great, first of all. Workers are hardworking. The fresh chips along with the fresh guacamole is a great starter (for free, it is a plus that most customers will appreciate). The consome is tasty and pairs well with the birria. Most consome that I had were very salty. The food is well presented. They bring your food in your table of choice. The staff were all nice and respectful. They don't bother you or look at you while you enjoy their scrumptious food! They also have a salsa bar equipped with containers, covers and fresh salsas or whatever you may need!
