I can't say enough about the outcome of my floors. Initially I chose flooring material that turned out very different than I imagined it would. They worked with me on taking it up and replacing it with a different selection at a price that was more than fair. The truest judgement of a company comes from experiencing how they handle problems more so than how they handle problem-free transactions. I agree that you should avoid this company like the plague! Nobody called to tell me when my flooring for the master bedroom and bath was in, I had to call them after 3 full weeks. They wanted to schedule the carpet to be installed in the bedroom first, but I told them I didn't want to put it in until after the vinyl so the new carpet wouldn't be walked all over. This meant a delay of another 4 weeks. When the installers called on the scheduled day, they were only going to do the carpet! After a lot of back and forth with the people in the office they agreed to put off the install for another eight days so the vinyl could go in first. On that day, the carpet installers called and said they were on their way, and again I had to call about the vinyl. They were supposed to be on the way and the carpet people were held off until noon. One guy showed up to do the vinyl which they already new we had a moisture problem and the old underlayment was going to have to come up and new put down. He said no problem, this is a small easy job I can do by myself. After hours of laboriously taking up the old underlayment, he decided he couldn't finish it! He would have to return two days later and it would go very quickly. Meanwhile, the carpet people showed up and we were assured the carpet would not be trampled over, they did this all the time. The carpet job was done to satisfaction. Two days later, the vinyl installer returned with a helper at around 2:30 in the afternoon. It took until about 8:45 that night for them to get finished. No caulking was done, a lot of touch up will have to be done to the new paint job on the walls, but the flooring itself does look very good. Just as I was worried about, though, I vacuumed the carpet in the bedroom the next morning, and there are several large, noticeable spots of something where they walked back and forth on it!!!!! One spot appears to be glue. I don't know how these will come out, but I am not happy with this! One other thing that I didn't appreciate about this whole fiasco. On the first day when we had to reschedule, a woman from the office called and said, in a very snarky way, " I understand our carpet installers showed up and you sent them away because you wanted the vinyl to go in first." I told her that was not correct, I told them I wanted the vinyl in first and they didn't come out at all. She then proceeded to chastise me for this and very haughtily said this was such a small job and implied it wasn't worth all the effort to send two, two-man crews and they didn't have 1 crew that could do the whole thing. I never even suggested that, I just wanted the freaking vinyl to go in before the carpet! As you can see, I was justified for wanting that! I will never do business with this company again, and I suggest you find someone else! read more

We were so pleased with 50Floor that we went with them for not only one but two house renovations! And we are hoping to work with them again to update our bathrooms as well. Our first experience with them was when I was 8 months pregnant and I needed my upstairs carpets replaced ASAP. They assured me it could be done with a quality product and they delivered with time to spare before the baby!!! Then a few months later we needed our downstairs carpets replaced and they worked SO hard to make sure we as customers were happy. I would honestly say if you are looking to be treated well and have an outstanding product to showcase in your home...this is the company for you! read more

After I posted my review I received a call from "Ron" on Jan. 15. He mentioned my review and said he would like to resolve everything and would try to make up for some of what I had gone through on the money part of the balance due. A different subcontractor came on Thursday Jan. 18th. They drilled the screws in the kitchen floor down, had to tear out half of the hall flooring that had been cut wrong and had a staple coming through the flooring and told me the patched spot in the kitchen would be fine. They did the flooring in the kitchen and bathroom but said they would not be able to fix the knot that was in the bedroom doorway that day. I spoke with "Ron" again and he said he would send them back out Monday, which was today Jan. 22, to fix it. He called me again on the 19th and asked if I was happy with what had been done so far. I told him it looked good except for the long bolts sticking up that they fastened the toilet back down with. He said he would let them know and told me he would take $500 off my balance. I told him after what I had went through that I felt like it should be more like $1000. He said he couldn't do that but would do $750. They came on the 22nd and had to tear out the entire bedroom flooring because they said it was layed wrong and they had to do that to fix the spots in the doorway. I asked them what was causing the knot and was told that it was one of those screws that the other man had put in the floor. When they finished they asked me to look at it and the first thing I saw was the knot in the doorway. I was told that they couldn't get the screw out so they beat it down with a hammer. They also said they couldn't do anything about the bolts sticking up in the toilet base because they didn't have any more and couldn't cut those off. So after almost 3 months I have my flooring. The screw in my bedroom doorway will probably come through the flooring eventually and I'll have to get someone to fix those long bolts. The night their salesperson was here I asked why they were more expensive than Home Depot or Lowes and she said "Because we are a professional flooring company. We come out and do Everything in just one day and you don't have to worry about anything, so part of what you're paying for is peace of mind." It sounded good. But instead I paid over $5000 for almost 3 months of aggravation, missed days of work, and according to the 2nd subcontractor, flooring that wasn't layed right. read more

Would not recommend! I had laminate flooring installed in living room & hallway. The job was so bad they had to rip out and put a whole new floor in. When I called to talk to manager he said we made it right?? Well for thousands of dollars ii would expect nothing less! A nightmare from beginning to end. Go elsewhere!!! read more

Not sure where to begin. EVERYTHING was wrong with these folks. Was told a 2 day job upfront. Actually took 7 and they still need to come back. INSTALLERS were not professionals by any means and even bad mouthed 50 floor themselves. Got glue on everything. Beat my wallls and cabinets up. I got so upset i called their Customer Service specialist in Atlanta. She was useless. Was going to call me back and check on me. Never heard from her again until I called her back. I have told every person I know not to use these folks. read more

This past fall we decided to redo the majority of the flooring in our home with luxury laminate. I asked for the same salesman that had given me a quote 2 years earlier, because he seemed like such an honest man. I even waited several days to have him specifically come back out. When I questioned him about some of the less than favorable reviews online, he quickly assured me that often people fail to go back and rewrite these when problems are resolved. Hmmmm...made sense to me at the time. However, twelve thousand dollars and a couple of months later, I am now calm enough to write a review. This was a nightmare and has cost us time and money to fix all the things that have been damaged in this process. Additionally, some special tasks, baseboard replacement and vent adjustments for which we paid extra, took multiple phone calls to get completed. Crews were not professional and made a mess wherever they went. Did not even use a shop vac....dust flying everywhere from sweeping...totally unnecessary to have this disregard for customer's home. During this installation, wallpaper was torn in bedroom, stains and nicks on wardrobe, brass screw caps lost from bed, hole poked in drywall of newly remodeled bathroom, dinged newly painted cabinets, scratched Corian countertop in kitchen when removing stove, poked fist sized hole in laundry room and tried to fill it with a ball of caulk, cut security alarm wire in foyer. Alarm company had to come out. The kitchen floor squeaks in front of the kitchen sink, did not squeak before. Bathroom floor squeaks too. The only good service was done on the hardwood stairs and that craftsman has since parted ways with 50 floors. Calls were returned quickly until these issues came up and even though the salesman, Eric, came out on the second day of installation and promised these items would be taken care of , we never heard from these folks again and the bill came right on time. Oh and this took much longer since initial measurements were apparently wrong resulting in the crew having to come back days later to finish job, extra days being torn up and had to clean up messes twice. I am so sorry that this big project was handled so unprofessionally and would caution anyone considering this vendor. I am in Nashville, Tennessee. read more

I am basing this review on the salesperson , Dan, who came to my home to give me a quote. I'm sure they must do good work, but I would never do business with them based on my experience with Dan. He was rude and condescending. I wanted a quote to compare with other companies and his was the first. When I told him that was much more than I had thought and I couldn't do that now, he asked me why I called him if I didn't have the money at that moment to purchase. I told him that I had been in outside sales for over 15 years and I was used to giving quotes to people who didn't make a decision at that time. He was very angry . I thought I would get a quote based on the square footage and the quote would be broken down. When I asked how many sq. ft. the bedroom had, he said they only gave a quote for the complete package-it was not broken down. I wanted to know the price per sq. foot. He was unkempt , rude and very upset because my 8 month old puppy (who I put in a crate before the arrived so as not to bother him) barked. He said the dog barking upset him. My home is 1402 sq. feet and he quoted me approximately $2,900.00 to do my bedroom and tiny bath. We had an excellent experience with 50 Floor. The rep came to our house with samples (we live about an hour southeast of Nashville), explained everything, measured our rooms, and gave us a free estimate (Lowe's charged us $55 for an estimate!). The workmen who installed our floors were polite and cheerful, and worked super hard. We found some quarter round that was not finished to our standard, and they replaced it without argument. The installation manager called us several times to make sure everything was going well, and a quality control rep visited the house to check on things. We are very pleased with 50 Floor and would highly recommend them. read more

The decision to hire 50 Floor in Nashville, TN will always be one of the most regrettable decisions we have ever made concerning our home. They ran out of materials in the middle of the job, did not have professional installers as promised, badly damaged our home, put us through weeks of delays and stress to complete the job and try to repair, lied to us, threatened us, and bullied us, charged our credit card without our permission, and refused to give us adequate compensation for all that they put us through. Do not rely on the Better Business Bureau's ratings, as this company has hundreds of complaints but still an A+ rating. And the bad reviews you see for this company are probably just a fraction of what there could be, because when something goes wrong, 50 Floor offers compensation for the promise of not sharing the bad experience with others. Run away. When you get an estimate on the flooring you choose and the 50 Floor rep cannot tell what the breakdown is. Could not tell me the price per square foot (Red Flag Here). Then wanted 50 percent down before he leaves to lock in outrageous quote? (Reg Flag Here). Then made a fake phone call to no one to get an install date and said he just lost a sell because I wanted an install date they could not do! I had enough. We recently had 50 Floor install new tile in our kitchen and dining room and it turned out AMAZING. Even though we ran into a few snags due to previous floor damage and age of the flooring; 50 Floor was able to help resolve the issues AND get our floors installed on time. They don't even deserve 1 star! We began this never ending journey to nowhere in April, 2016. Here we are at the end of July and our flooring job has yet to be completed. We were only offered 3 types of flooring. I was told by the 50 floor sales person we could not install ceramic or porcelain tile on the type of subflooring we had and that that subflooring was carried throughout all of the wet areas. When we had a vanity installed in one of the bathrooms, that installer told us we had the appropriate subfloor for ceramic or porcelain tile! AFTER we had all the wet areas done in the cortech vinyl tile! We fell victim to 50-floors pushing this type of flooring. This was a $10k+ job: 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a den, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and 2 hallways. We quickly learned the installers, who were very kind and courteous, were contractors-NOT 50 floor employees. The installation manager Tim, the previous general manager Brian and the current general manager Stacey all made empty promises so now we remain without our job complete! We've taken off work more than once just to find installation couldn't be done. We have closet doors that were never re-hung, we are missing transition strips...installation jobs were cancelled, the incorrect carpet was delivered, the wrong color quarter-round installed...it has been the worst experience we've encountered since remodeling our entire house. We will NEVER use 50 floor again. We HIGHLY recommend staying FAR away from 50 FLOOR. read more

The salesman, Michael Massengale, was very friendly. He was very patient and showed me several samples so I was certain what flooring I wanted. The installation crew (2 guys) were awesome. They came in, moved out the furniture, worked hard all day, until the job was done, cleaned up the mess, put the furniture back. I thought with 3 rooms, a hall and stairs would have needed more help but they did great! The only downside was the night before original installation I received call that the carpet was damaged so had to be re-ordered but they were able to get it and install just a few days later. Glad to know they cared about what product they installed. Would definitely recommend them. read more
