We went Sunday for brunch and our waitress greeted us and took our order super fast which was appreciated. Our food arrived too hot too eat...yesss! I love knowing our food was just finished! The biscuits with the biscuits and gravy were delicious! My husband ordered a skillet and he loved it. I also had a side of chocolate chip pancakes and they were good too! This place was actually pretty darn good! I took my mom and grandma and they both had the chicken fried steak and loved it. I had a bacon cheeseburger and thought it was great! The server was spread thin so it was a little hard for her to keep our drinks full. Drinks were tasty but will cost you $2. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. For three people it was $40. So it's not a cheap place. I would definitely consider going back and eating here again. read more

A diner that actually puts sausage chunks in their gravy which is rare in Oklahoma for some reason. It's not that peppered bag gravy stuff. They have great tasting B&G. The Made in Oklahoma is one of my fav's. It's pretty much a wreck of all the breakfast flavors you love combined with their great sausage gravy. 50s din had to be one of our favorite spots to go to but after today's experience, I have to say it's definitely off our list now. I had ordered the made in Oklahoma and I had gotten a couple bites in when I found a thick hair in my food. I had told the owner of this place, that there was a hair in my food, and I had to physically remove the hair that was intertwined from the food, as she "couldn't see" where the hair was. I told her to take the food off of our ticket and that we no longer wanted to continue eating. The owner mentioned to her waitress that our food should have been free, but we were still charged for it anyways. Truly an unpleasant experience, and truly disappointed. read more

We visited at lunchtime on a Thursday and the diner was PACKED. This was our first time in since it opened. Between the two of us, we tried a house salad, cheeseburger, fries, chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and onion rings. The burger was good, but didn't seem like they'd made the patty-- maybe frozen with some filler mixed in. It was BIG and pretty good, though. The burger BUN was great-- soft and chewy and held up to me adding mayo, mustard and ketchup to my burger. The fries were good and served nice and warm with a medium thickness (somewhere between a McDonald's fry and a Red Robin steak fry). The chicken fried chicken (as well as the steak for that matter) gets ATTENTION when they bring it to the table. It is HUGE and you can hear other customers' audible jealousy when they serve it to you. Good breeding, and the chicken was THICK and juicy. Good chicken-to-breaking ratio. The gravy was fine, but needed a little sat and pepper. Onion rings were fine. Not amazing but definitely enjoyable. Husband dipped them in mustard because he's weird. Service- the ladies hustling around were trying really hard, but they just weren't equipped for the rush this day! My burger came out missing it's cheese (remedied quickly with TWO pieces, hehe) and my husband's plate followed a bit late because I think they accidentally made him chicken fried steak first. But if so, that was a really quick turnaround! Service aside, this was a pretty good meal. It won't be the first diner I go to in BA (Apple Barrel is closer to my house, serves almost exactly the same food, and the entrees come with a salad AND two sides, for approx. the same price). But, if they keep the quality of the food up and bring in mor help for these heavy rushes, I think it will do okay-- especially for a location that hasn't been lucky for many restaurants in the last decade. read more

Very good! Cheese sticks were thick and crunchy on the outside. The burger meat was seasoned and the onion rings were crunchy. The liver and onions was tender and the gravy was good. Very economical too. They even have a spam sandwich!!!! read more

Waitress makes the diner The waitress I had was almost felt like she was annoyed to have to be at work. She didn't introduce herself at all. I know she's been there for a bit the black headed one working. I would say thank you got ignored she stopped by once to check on us. She could have made the difference with just being friendly I would have given a higher rating. Now on to the food. I had the old country scrambled my eggs one was spot on cooked the other way over cooked. No seasoning what so ever and toast was cold. My wife got the meat omelette. Her omelette was over cooked she got biscuits and gravy with her meal sausage gravy is what it came with. The gravy tasted like water absolutely horrible. Finally the coffee it was old enough that as soon as it was poured in my cup I had a film on the cup. The coffee was horrible tasting and had that almost soured flavor. This evening my wife and I were able to sample the fare of this restaurant . When we arrived we were greeted by our server and told to sit anywhere we liked. Then, without being asked, even though our son was too small for one, brought us a high chair. The atmosphere was friendly and bright. Neat sayings and older memorabilia decorated the walls. We started the meal with their fried pickles. These golden brown, lightly battered, delicious dill spears were very tasty, especially when dipped in their ranch dressing. We followed this appetizer with their chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak. These things were huge! My Chicken Fried steak (pictured below) was accompanied with fried zucchini and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak was good. The crust was a little to thick for my taste and broke off of my steak as I ate it. One thing that I liked was that when I ordered, I was able to get brown gravy on my mashed potatoes and white gravy on my steak . This made me happy. Speaking of the garlic mashed potatoes, they were seasoned well and went great with the brown gravy. To me the highlight of this plate were the fried zucchini Spears. These were amazing with or without the ranch dressing. Our meal also came with dinner rolls that were very good as well. Finally, as we were leaving I spotted a canvas flag picture that they were allowing veterans to sign. I made sure to leave my mark and thank them for a good meal. They then thanked me for my service. We left stuffed and are looking forward to another visit, but will go for breakfast then. I wanted so bad to give this establishment 5 stars. I can give service this but the food was 4 star. Been wanting to go here for a while because of the theme and we finally got the chance! Inside was cute theme, cute atmosphere with retro music. Friendly service, food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I got The All-American breakfast with over easy eggs, their home fries (seasoned potatoes) bacon and biscuits and gravy. Everything was tasty, and I was impressed with their gravy as usually (at other diner's/breakfast places around here) gravy is Bland or too watery. There's was delicious and they're sweet tea was perfection. My husband got breakfast pork chops, Hashbrowns, eggs and bacon. We will definitely be returning and recommending 50s diner! My only recommendation for them to improve is that the waitresses wear nametags, wish I remembered our waitresses name, she was great! read more

We wanted to give this a try since the reviews were so good....but we won't be back. I still get gaggy even thinking about it. First off, bland....my husband had a scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns. The eggs looked nice, but were just tasteless, has browns soggy, toast cold and there was a strange taste to the bacon, almost wild boar.... I ordered the waffle with pecans with bacon. It had the sweetest smell when it came out. HOWEVER, as I was putting the butter on, there was hair in the butter. Ewwwww, is all I can say. It ruined the meal, the wait staff acted like no big deal but did replace it. When they brought me a new one I almost didn't want to eat. For the most part it was clean, but the staff just hangs out at the counter....of course not a one of the should be serving food. Needless to say, we wont be back. read more

We've been here several times and it's always fine. The food comes out fast and it's good. Not great, but good. The service has never been very good. The waiters seem overworked and genuinely unhappy. They drop the check on your table as soon as you get your food, so trying to get someone to come back to refill your drink is a challenge. On my most recent visit I decided to venture away from the breakfast menu and get an entree. I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and I added an extra side of mac and cheese. I love mac and cheese so I was really excited to try it. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were good (again, not great) but the "seasoned green beans" (as stated on the menu) were the most bland green beans I've ever had. They had bacon in them, but there was zero flavor. They tasted like they were boiled in unseasoned water. Even salt and pepper couldn't fix it. Same with the mac and cheese--no flavor at all and salt and pepper definitely didn't help. I'll be back the next time I want a quick cheap breakfast, but I'll never order anything but breakfast. I'm a regular customer at 50's Diner and this morning noticed 6 on duty firemen eating breakfast at the table next to me. So I asked the waitress if their meals are discounted and she says yes. So I told her I wanted to pay their tab. She brings the bill but no discount is on their ticket. I question it as I am simply paying their tab, but was told they wouldn't discount the firemen's meals if we were paying for them. I made sure they knew that all I was asking for was the discount they would have given to the firemen anyways and that they would lose me as a customer. Was told none of that mattered. This is some greedy logic. I'll be sure to spend my money elsewhere. read more

Worse place to order I ordered on the phone and did not get what I ordered. The guy was very rude the food was all over the place and cold. No customer service when I was a server if someone said there order was wrong I would not argue because they are paying for it and there's no need if they did not order that then they did not order it I would simply change it because that is customer service. This place is the worse diner I've ever eaten at and I'm out of town and my family that live in this area warmed me not to go because they have had similar encounters. I will never recommend or visit this place again for a fact so any out of town tourists do not visit I advice the manager or owner was very rude and hung up while I was trying to fix the issue. read more

This place does a great breakfast. The service was good, and the food was well above average. The bacon was cook perfectly and the biscuits were light and good, though a little greasy.
